After somewhere for Sunday lunch with our multigenerational family, The Llewelyn was suggested. We weren’t sure what to expect, especially as we arrived at the very start of service and the restaurant was very quiet. Clearly used by guests of the hotel for breakfast and buffets also - which is fine - it initially felt a little uncomfortable as quite empty but as other guests joined us, the atmosphere lightened. The menu is limited for lunch - we think they may have previously had a carvery buffet? - with just roast main courses and a few pudding choices, plus restricted kids menu, but portions were very generous. As some of our party were vegetarians, we weren’t sure what the ‘vegetable and seed roast’ would be, but it was delicious. Alongside the main roast - which came with roast potatoes, red cabbage, carrots and parsnips plus a huge Yorkshire pudding - was a separate dish of lovely cauliflower cheese plus extra gravy. Another member of the party wasn’t a vegetarian, and we were quite surprised when another dish of cauliflower cheese came along with another jug of extra (vegetarian) gravy! We couldn’t manage all the extra veg between the three of us, even though it was delicious. We were too full for desert, but left happy and full of praise for The Llewelyn, definitely a Criccieth Sunday lunch special!

If anyone is thinking about visiting Central Hotel Shotton wetherspoons I personally would not advise it .certain management are foul mouthed and bad mouth their customers to each other while you are there.plus they lie and back each other up when caught out and if you put in a complaint then they ban you. The place also needs a good clean from tables to toilets. There are certain statistics are great shame the bad ones will try and bring them down. Feel free to vape in there as people do even while sitting with a duty manager. Time they started obeying by the rules and the law. Including hygiene and wearing nets on hair and beards. It's not a family oriented pub as they allow certain people shouting and swearing almost every day. This is all true. They also fail in their duty of care as they let people get so drunk it's all about money. Customers are left to help the people who are so drunk and fall over.

We had a Club sandwich and it was excellent. The salad was a lovely selection of fruit/ veg/ leaves. Really impressed and service was great. Great stop for motorbikes with a great car park.

A most welcoming local pub with an excellent chef who happily adapted starters into a main for me - veggie! Although menu catered for everyone. Mine hosts were so cheerful & hardworking - many could take a leaf out of their books! The place was absolutely buzzing with people of all ages - locals & holidaymakers having the time of their lives singing along to the live musician of the evening who sang everything from Beatles/John Denver to modern day...talented chap! We will definitely be back - next time we may stay if not during the summer months, perhaps for an Autumn/Spring walking holiday!

Was ever so slightly dubious about visiting this place after reading some negative reviews (anti English speaking comments mostly), couldn't be further from the truth, spent an afternoon there, and found other guests to be more than welcoming, really admired the owners for resurrecting this pub (and shop and airbnb), especially impressed with Meinwen who was chatty, witty, welcoming and informative, will certainly visit again.

This pub is no longer an Indian Restaurant/ Pub It has been taken over by a very reputable company and is being run brilliantly by Nancy Jones and her under manager Gemma. Mike has been kept on because of his excellent input. The pub has been rejuvenated since the new regime , and now is a truly Community pub. I have been regularly using this pub for 52 years and have not seen it this good since the days of the Moores and Bob and Sue. Good luck to the new management and roll on when the kitchen re-opens even if it’s only for bar snacks.

We went as a group of residents for a day Out and it was great...we had a carvery meal which was excellent followed by games of bingo and play your cards right then there was an entertainer on so we could dance or just sing a long to the music. Bar drinks were very reasonably priced

Breakfast was simply very poor. Toast which had obviously been kept warm in the oven. The scrambled eggs was just that, nothing but eggs. The sausage had more wrinkles than a stewed prune, again kept hot for hours if not re-heated from yesterday. A nice cup of coffee was the only saviour. That said, it’s not the first time breakfast has been poor but today was the last visit to eat.

Lovely spot on the harbour front. Food and coffee was delicious. We had a breakfast stack…sausage patty, hash brown, fried egg and onion relish in a sourdough bun, so good! Had a brownie and cookie afterwards, didn’t disappoint. There was only a few items available for breakfast but we came on a Tuesday morning, think they were trialling the menu. There was a veggie stack and an avocado stack option too. Hope they stick with it! Staff super friendly. Wi-Fi and nearby parking.

Cool little venue, went a couple of times when live music was on - nice fun atmosphere. Would be even better if they sold hot snacks too.

Fantastic new menu. Great food, the hotdog is great value for money, can’t wait to try the new kebabs. Lauren, Adam and Gee were great. Nothing to much trouble

Don’t we all love a spoons? Had a lot of good times in the north and south bank spent with friends. Very good value and the food is surprisingly nice. Sometimes the queue can be edging on the ludicrous on a Saturday night but that’s the same with everywhere. The only real downside is that it isn’t open 24/7!

We ate here twice in our week staying locally Once a take away and once to eat in An added bonus is the happy hour with cobra lager at £3.80 a pint between 5-7 The food is exceptional with your usual Indian staples and some not so usual items on a very interesting menu Would highly recommend 👍
