Starvation Bar & Kitchen in Isle of Anglesey

So. I noticed on website closes at 5pm on a sunday. I telephoned them to book for 5pm. I was informed that thete is no booking but if i arrived at 4.30 then i would be served. I arrived st 4.30 and was told only drinks available as they have been quiet... Is it anyvwinder with this level of service.. Absolutely appalling in my book!!

Friendly welcome and quite a few people in for a Sunday evening. It turned out to be a quick drink when loud music was suddenly turned on and blared through the bar. We were the second last table to leave. Not sure why they did it; it cleared the bar.

What an atmosphere the staff create in this locally run bar and cafe. The staff create a happy buzzing at atmosphere whether the bar is full with everyone watching the Rugby World Cup or taking part in a Bavarian Oktoberfest evening, or even on a quiet mid week evening. Each time we visited in the last week we had a lovely welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the buzz - and we’re in our youthful 60’s.

Ok but could triple their bar takings if they had more than the one bar staff been run ragged trying to do cocktails, coffee , beer! Thankful the draught beetle barrels didn’t need changing . Owners get a grip and triple your takings , goes without saying we will be going ‘ across the road ‘ the rest of the week.

We called in for drinks two nights running and can highly recommend this great bar. Lovely friendly atmosphere and great staff.

Visited for coffee with my elderly parents, after ordering I was totally ignored until my order was placed in front of me on the bar. For the price I paid I expected to have 3 hot coffees not 3 lukewarm ones. I did raise the point but I was just given a look of disgust. I will not be visiting again which is a shame because it is in a great spot to sit and watch the world go by

Live music nights are excellent. Cocktails are great and at a reasonable price. Definitely worth a visit when music is on.

The burgers here are most excellent, the cheesy fries delicious as is the crisp, on draft, Brooklyn lager. Dogs are made very welcome too.

Lovely bar, nice drinks - some of the staff need to remember even though they have a monopoly- rude behaviour still affects CUSTOMERS experience- Rhosneigr nice place, good job there are other places to drink that understand basic manners. Would have said something- but what’s the point!

We visited here on a Wednesday night, bought drinks and ordered 3 burgers. After waiting over an hour and a little confused watching several staff backwards and forwards between the bar and kitchen, we asked if we were still getting our food. It seemed both ours and the only other table that were waiting for food, had been caught up in a mix up between the bar and the kitchen and the chef had packed up and wasn't aware there were more food orders waiting. To be fair he offered to reopen the kitchen and make our burgers, but at this point we were beyond hunger and had planned to head to the beach to watch the sunset. Such a shame as on first impressions it appeared to be a cool bar and place to eat. Maybe if the 2 girls working on the bar 'taste testing' the whisky had paid a bit more attention to the customers and checked in on us they'd have remembered we were waiting for our food... Starvation in name and nature sadly.

Arrived approx. 5 pm and asked to see menu. Only burgers available. Not a good start. Quite hungry so ordered something called --- Smashed beef patty with fries. We expected something better than undercooked oversalted soggy fries and a really awful beef burger oversalted and a revolting mustard flavour dressing. It is very simple meal, how can you not do better? Upon payment , I was asked if everything was ok. Really !! I was then requested to pay for an extra beer, until I pointed out the error. Never ever again.

Amazing bar, made to feel so welcome, very dog friendly, lovely vibe, been our go to bar for our whole stay
