A cute spot in Blaenau Ffestiniog - the only spot open on a Sunday morning after we had stayed overnight in a local slate mine. I got the hashbrown roll and my husband got the bikers breakfast - both were delicious, prepared quick and the couple working were so friendly and adorable. I would highly recommend stopping in here for breakfast!

Went here for breakfast which was all nice and cooked fresh, smallish place but nice, reasonably priced, The lady which i think was the owner was very friendly, the two servers who were young seemed to be unable to say anything maybe they were new or nervous but they were just fine.

What a find! A charming place with a quirky interior and lovely young staff on the Saturday morning we were there with our dog. I was really impressed with the two sizes offered for a traditional meat or a vegetarian breakfast, and a vegan one too. Even the smaller one was sizeable, and both had a charming little fried bread garnish - a lamb and a star! Great toast too, with thick bread. I really can't fault it. Great value, great food, great service.

We found this place via trip, as we were early for our booking at zip world. Originally we were only having a snack, but after seeing other peoples plates we stayed for a whole meal. We both had lasagne and it was amazing! Really yummy. Only missing a star due to ordered a drink and didn’t receive it and our food got taken to the wrong table 2x and also the staff were all amazing but some seemed very young , they did great though not their fault! Overall really great hidden gem 100% recommend

I took a trip on the steam railway from port Maddock to Ffestiniog on arriving at Ffestiniog we had a quick look round then decided to have a coffee at this cafe, it was busy with the people of the train so had a little wait which is fine but the price they charged for 2 coffees and the quality of the coffee was not great also it was only warm not hot, we never had time to complain as it already had taken awhile so we just drunk it straight down and left. When we got back to the railway station we saw they done coffee at less than half the price we had paid, wish we had gotten ours from there at least we could have taken it on the train.

Only later did we see that there were no chips and the sandwich was not toasted! £5.50 for a cold sandwich which took 40 minutes to make! Better to go to the CoOp next door!

The service was horrible, with more than half an hour to make some paninis and pizza, which almost made us miss our train, not only did we almost miss our train with the slow service, but the food wasn’t made properly - the paninis had to be changed to sandwiches which weren’t toasted and had raw cheese and the pizza was hardly cooked! Each of these meals was at least £5! Furthermore, the toilets were dark and not cleaned properly. I highly recommend not to visit here.

We were drawn to this cafe by the lovely, sunny outdoor seating area. It is in a great spot but that is the only good thing going for it! It was not particularly clean the the service was very poor. A smile does not cost anything. You had to stand and wait at the counter for your drinks. I ordered a hot chocolate which was insipid - it was basically just a glass of warm milk. There was very little chocolate in it and it was far from hot. I also ordered a piece of tiffin. My order came to over £6.00. Very disappointing and terrible value for money. Dirty tables too. Popped into this cafe yesterday during a short visit to Blaenau as it loooked interesting. Sat outside as the weather was nice...but noticed immediately that the tables were very dirty. It is roadside..but a regular wipe over would help. We had coffee and cheese sandwiches. The coffee was nice but not very hot but the sandwiches were very disappointing and not cheap. The bread was most definitely not fresh, the grated cheese dry and unappetising and the little side salad dressing limp and stale. What a shame..especially as this is the first cafe people see when getting off the train. A quirky little building that could be so good. Disappointing to say the least. An employee at the end arcade of pier has an absolute appoling attitude and aggressive nature.. not so long ago I was with my 3 year son, playing on the basket ball game. once we finished - there was one ball left, he came over and slammed the ball so hard, right next to my son... I was in shock, and my son started crying. Today we went there and we just left my 3 years bike just inside of the door, out of the way for incoming persons entrance. The same employee stood by the bike asking everyone franticly who's this bike belongs too. I came over and said its my son's.. "just move it" he replied... absolutely discussing attitude. Hubby and I went here for lunch on Wednesday. We sat inside (too windy at the time to sit outside). The interior decor was too cluttered for our liking. I went up to the counter and ordered for him a Bridge Breakfast (largest on the menu) with side portion of chunky chips & ketchup. For myself I ordered a beef lasagne and chips & salad garnish. I also asked for a pot of tea for 2. The bill came to £23.10 (cash only payments accepted) which I thought was a bit over-priced for the area. You have to get your own cutlery from the end side of the counter. The tea plus an extra pot of hot water was served almost straight away. We waited 20 minutes for the meals to be served. Hubby was generally pleased with his slightly greasy big breakfast which consisted of 2 sausages, 2 bacon rashers, 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes and 2 slices of white toast. I had a good portion size of lasagne but I couldn't eat the blob of greasy orange cheese on the top. There was no vinegar on any of the tables so Hubby asked for some. The young waiter brought us a bottle of Aldi vinegar which was almost empty. Whilst we were eating, he asked us if we had finished with the vinegar as another customer wanted it. Hubby jokingly said was that the one and only bottle they had, to which he replied "yes"!. The toilets are down some steep steps which could prove difficult for some people.

Awful experience. We arrived around 2 pm, and we asked what the soup was. We were told it was Parsnip and immediately ordered. The member of staff went to the kitchen to ask something and then came out to say they are no longer serving food. We found this odd given that she had just confirmed the soup with the kitchen, and the cafe is open until 4 pm. Fair enough if we were trying to order at 3.45pm, but this was at 2pm. We ordered coffees and welsh cakes, which took 20 minutes to come (cafe was empty, save for ourselves). The rude member of staff then slammed them on the table, didn't even take the items off the tray, and walked off. Never have I had such an awful customer service experience. Complete letdown to what is a lovely area.

An out-of-town farm/campsite/farmshop. Reasons for 5* = service (friendly), quality (.take a look round the shop), price (very good value) . I thought this was a lovely place. As a family we’d all happily revisit. Good value for the quality of produce. In Leeds (where we come from) could charge a lot more. We’d happily happily revisit

We stayed for 3 nights… a cracking hotel, rooms really comfy, great breakfast and evening meal… staff were lovely. Thank you to Dave for the local information for walking…. Will be back again!

A most welcoming local pub with an excellent chef who happily adapted starters into a main for me - veggie! Although menu catered for everyone. Mine hosts were so cheerful & hardworking - many could take a leaf out of their books! The place was absolutely buzzing with people of all ages - locals & holidaymakers having the time of their lives singing along to the live musician of the evening who sang everything from Beatles/John Denver to modern day...talented chap! We will definitely be back - next time we may stay if not during the summer months, perhaps for an Autumn/Spring walking holiday!
