Awful experience. We arrived around 2 pm, and we asked what the soup was. We were told it was Parsnip and immediately ordered. The member of staff went to the kitchen to ask something and then came out to say they are no longer serving food. We found this odd given that she had just confirmed the soup with the kitchen, and the cafe is open until 4 pm. Fair enough if we were trying to order at 3.45pm, but this was at 2pm. We ordered coffees and welsh cakes, which took 20 minutes to come (cafe was empty, save for ourselves). The rude member of staff then slammed them on the table, didn't even take the items off the tray, and walked off. Never have I had such an awful customer service experience. Complete letdown to what is a lovely area.

The most beautiful view from this cafe, definitely the best in the area. The coffee was also one of the better ones we've had in the area. We had lunch as well which was great and good portion sizes. The carrot cake was amazing as well! Probably the best service we've received in the area as well, nice girl working at the till. Very cool place! Beautiful inside as well. Wish we had come sooner on our trip, hope to be back again one day.

REALLY lovely place to visit, we only went for the Cafe but the whole village experience was SO good finding out about the years gone by with the granite mines & the families. What a great transformation of the place & such a good use, so found it very informative. You can also access the beach & see the wildlife which you have information boards on too. Excellent trip out all round for all families & ages. Scenery is stunning on the drive in & out

I didn’t review at the time I went in May 2022 but should have as it was fantastic to visit this cafe in this beautiful place. We loved everything. The cafe is part of the rescued old mining village and next to a gorgeous beach with old ruins. It’s a stunning location. The drive to the cafe/old mining village was great, too.

There is plenty of seating and a small section selling cards and local guide books. The café has enlarged over the years and has views looking towards the coast. There are two entrances, one down some steps and the other on the side facing the coast with an automatic door and wheelchair access.

I was a little disappointed a lunch menu had been left in our holiday cottage and seemed quite extensive. We walked down the road to the cafe and there was only sandwiches soup and chips available and cakes. The tea was good and came with extra hot water. They seemed a bit disorganised and one bowl of chips didn't come until we asked for them. The view is wonderful and staff very pleasant and tried to please.

...and tasty coffee but don't expect your drinks to come quickly. Do appreciate that we arrived in the middle of a large party but a couple who came in after us received their food before we got our two coffees. Some of the delay may also have been due to training at the till. Anyhoo, beautiful setting with a fascinating history just sorry we didn't see any dolphins in the bay 🐬 Awesome shaggy goats though 🐐

Called in at lunch time and had a coffee. The location is great so we thought it would be nice to return after a walk to have something to eat. My wife asked at the counter and was told they take food orders until 15.00 and close at 16.00. I asked a waitress and was told the same. So we did our walk and got back just before 15.00 only to be told that they finished taking orders at 14.30 (despite the fact that it wasn't very busy). I said we'd been told it was 15.00 but the girl behind the counter just said she was sorry but the kitchen had decided to stop early. Arghhhhhh

Brilliantly located with friendly staff. Booked a two course meal for two for this special occasion. Served with gin and tonics, but arrived with tonics mixed with the gin and no lemon! The starters, mushrooms and garlic sauce, were bland and practically inedible; main courses of sea bass were reasonable but the vegetables were dry. After complaining, the starters were deducted from the bill. So disappointing! We will return for the beauty of the place and the exceptional scone with jam and real cream. Spoke to a couple who lived locally who told us that its food reputation was not good!

Went here on Saturday having been recommended to us to get a full cooked breakfast. Got there at 10.05am only to find a board outside that said "Open 11am to 4pm". So we sat in the car for best part of an hour, then at 11am went to the cafe which by now had opened, waited ages to be seen at the serving counter, and then asked could we have two cooked breakfasts. Were totally disgusted that despite smelling bacon cooking at our earlier 10am arrival and again when we went in at 11am, we were told "No, we are only doing cakes and drinks". What a total waste of an hour sitting waiting for it to open. Never again will we both visiting.

Bring Covid era I waited, as indicated, by the track and trace desk for quite a while before being directed to a table. Another wait before I realized it wasn’t table service and I had to ask for menu. Not a great start. My partner went and placed an order, moments later our drinks arrived. 40 minutes later we thought we had better chase up the food - clearly our order was missed as 5 minutes later it materialized. We then had to ask for cutlery (although being ravenous at this point I considered diving in head first). Final icing on the cake was my partner’s flatbread was missing a key ingredient but at this point we wanted to eat up and leave - we didn’t want any further delays!

A most welcoming local pub with an excellent chef who happily adapted starters into a main for me - veggie! Although menu catered for everyone. Mine hosts were so cheerful & hardworking - many could take a leaf out of their books! The place was absolutely buzzing with people of all ages - locals & holidaymakers having the time of their lives singing along to the live musician of the evening who sang everything from Beatles/John Denver to modern day...talented chap! We will definitely be back - next time we may stay if not during the summer months, perhaps for an Autumn/Spring walking holiday!
