The best restaurants serving British food in North Wales

Afternoon tea for two. Mashed up egg sandwiches, sickly shop bought cakes, passable scones served in a gloomy room with somebody's pushchair beside our table. Totally disappointing. Would not recommend.

We went on Thursday (steak night), our steaks were cooked to perfection. All the staff are friendly and attentive, special compliments to Craig, Shaun and Rob.

Lovely surroundings, wonderful friendly and helpful staff especially Caitlin who served us with a smile. Fantastic food as always, wish you had seabass on the menu in winter Dawn and Colin

My wife and myself visited while we were passing. Service off the young lady behind the bar was spot on. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Very generous portion size. If we are ever in the area again we will for sure be popping in

Excellent service from Lovely friendly staff . Dog friendly ( we booked so they could accommodate us) and the food was hot , plentiful and flavourful. Going home full and will definitely come again !

Booked a table ahead. We were seated, within a couple of minutes the waitress came over and asked “are you waiting on another person”, explained that we were now down to four, we were told that we had to move tables incase a larger group arrived! The waitress was rude and abrupt, the food was not up to scratch, the chips were soggy, presentation was poor. When paying we had to stand and wait for 5 minutes, the waitress then appeared with a mouthful of food, she didn’t speak just pointed at the card machine. We won’t be returning

Food and service was fantastic, huge portions of great pub food. Rooms were nice too in a historic setting. Fabulous view out of the hotel and a really pretty village. All in all, amazing value for our stop over to play rugby!

Just passed by doing some walking and asked if we could leave our car at the parking. The kindness of the reception was overwhelming. Need to come back. In addition to that the walk that ended at the campsite was beautiful.

Found this little gem of a pub whilst staying in a caravan near by! The staff were so friendly and helpful! Made to feel very welcome. The food was amazing and tasted excellent! The pub is located on the river as it was still a nice evening we sat outside for a few drinks. The play area is an extra bonus for families. My two year old enjoyed this

Eight adults booked a table here last Wednesday and from the second we stepped into the place we were in love with it. The elegance and charm were extraordinary. Then came the 3 course meal ! Everybody raved about every course. The service was impeccable and if I lived nearer I’d be a regular! Cannot fault one detail .

We stayed here overnight. It was a really great place to stay, clean, warm and comfortable. You can’t beat the location or the views. Joe is super helpful and couldn’t do anymore than she does for you even to the point of coming to the cafe where we were having breakfast with my straighteners that I had left in the room! Thanks for a lovely stay. We will be back! Laura and Patrick

The landlady is a wonderfully person

Great Fish and Chips, cooked fresh on ordering. Spotlessly clean inside, very friendly helpful staff. Highly recommended

Stopped for a coffee but dogs not allowed. Happy to sit outside but being solo meant I couldn’t take the dog in to order. Disappointing
