We had Lovely food,with friendly staff that must walk miles in every shift .kids enjoyed themselves, so did we .we will be back soon thank you

Waited nearly an hour for our food as it had been given to someone else! Very disappointed,as wanted to try here for a long time. Most staff were lovely and a lovely setting but unfortunately we will not return.

Sadly the food was dreadful. After spending £150 to take our family out we then had to cook dinner when we returned home. Service was friendly and setting lovely.

Well, after all the hype we have heard, we finally went to celebrate a birthday and, as I'm gluten free, it was a no brainer or so we thought !!! YES, all gluten free foods are brittle but the fish batter was non existent and felt like you were putting fresh air into your mouth. Their was NO fish taste at all until the last but one mouthful where I did in fact taste fish. The peas tasted so sooo bland too, so, all in all it was our first AND last visit to the Pant. We have been to their sister eatery in The Architect in Chester where I have had no issues but NEVER will I be going back to The Pant Yr Ochain !!!

hit and miss on food - had the lamb and was violently ill for 3 days - went back recently and food was cold - so good atmosphere for drinks but give the food a miss

I certainly would not recommend this pub when it's busy. Food was ok but the service was very slow. Any good restaurant would have told us it would take 1 hour to be served but we had no such advice. When we complained later, we were told the average was 45 mins. That's not very good is it?! Maybe they should have a sign up to let everyone know. Then we had the usual defence from the waitress that she was on minimum wage. So the staff need a bit of training. It wasn't her fault, you shouldn't take this kind of thing personally, it was just a complaint to be flagged up to the business management. Also, when it's busy the main lounge is incredibly loud when people are chatting/laughing, no soft furnishings etc. Some people really don't like that. Groups probably don't notice it but it's not what you want for a couple so we had to move tables. The staff knew where we were but it still took ages to serve us. Nice setting but if I ever returned it would only be at lunchtime on a less busy day. Shame it spoilt our visit to the area.

We like the Brunning and Price chain and are always pleased with the service and quality of food. We enjoyed our lunch; the atmosphere was good and the menu varied. Our only slight disappointment was the size of our portion of fish and chips. For a small or half portion, it would have been more than adequate, but at almost £18, we expected more than a puny fish and with a stack of chips. Overall, it was good and we would return.

The Pant is a place that I’ve visited many time over the years , and I’ve always enjoyed my visits , nothing could be nicer than sitting outside the Pant in a summers day , the food has always been very good and so has the service ,BUT , within the last two weeks have seen to the Lant to find the service has been appalling I called in on a Monday night the place was pretty quiet stood by the bar and was totally ignored for 15 minutes while bar staff stood chatting , I ended up walking out and going elsewhere, I put this down to a one off only to return a week later and to have the same thing happen again , I’ve been a regular customer at the Pant over the years but sadly it’ll be a while before I go again , sort it out Pant before you lose more custome

Wonderful food , infact the best lamb I have ever had also a very nice red wine, lovely setting and good service,will definitely be back very soon

I booked for 10 at 7 on a Sunday but was moved to 7.30 to suit the restaurant. When we arrived we were told that we had 10 minutes to order or would not be served. Service throughout was rude and dismissive and we could hear the staff at the bar complaining about customers. The clear impression was that they were desperate to go home and resented the presence of customers requiring them to work. Although the food was reasonably nice we were not able to enjoy it because of the atmosphere.

Fabulous night ! Booked meal with friends who travelled from Manchester. We’ve had a couple of meals here and it never disappoints. The restaurant and bar are run by the nicest and most helpful staff and the food is delicious. We will be returning and we most definitely recommend! On a helpful note , probably best to book a table as always very busy !

We find the restaurant is so HIT and MISS that we wonder why we keep on returning. On our most recent visit, the menu was limited and the only dish that appealed was fish and chips! We were somewhat amazed by how much prices have generally risen whilst the quality of the food has decreased . It’s a real shame that this is what we’re now experiencing at The Pant and at other Brunning and Price restaurants.

Haven’t visited this place for a long while and unfortunately after our experience I won’t be rushing to return. Such a shame as previously had really good times here. We arrived and the staff on the bar were to be fair very helpful and saw to us straight away, we informed them we had a table booked and she took us straight through, telling us we could place an order for drinks at the table and that it would be table service. They didn’t actually come to take our drinks order for over 20 minutes. Finally took our drink order and then had another 25 minute wait until the drinks arrived! In this time we had placed our food order and it was only that I asked the waiter taking the food order where our drinks were that he went to check. Otherwise, who knows how long we would have waited! Water was requested and arrived room temperature with red hot glasses straight out of the dishwasher, the result being Luke warm table water. No ice was offered. The food was VERY slow to arrive, we only ordered one course but we waited 50 minutes from ordering to the food actually arriving. And when it did it was Luke warm, and tasteless. I had the lentil and mushroom tagliatelle which was a tiny portion at a whopping £16, Luke warm and with absolutely no flavour at all. The other main ordered was nut roast, which looked nice however the feedback was that the nut roast was like packet sage and onion stuffing mix with some nuts sprinkled on top. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. Food was overpriced, Luke warm, small portions, long waiting times and seriously bland. Someone needs to buy them some herbs and spices and get some depth of flavour in those dishes!

We love this pub, we live within walking distance, but had a disappointing experience for Sunday lunch. We were shown to our table by a guy from the bar, young guy. Then we didn't get any service for 15 minutes while we wanted to order food and drink so I ordered myself from the bar. The bar manager apologized for this. We had our starters (nice) but when the server, a young woman cleared our plates, she didn't ask if we needed another drink so I was back to the bar again to order my own drinks while my main course was going cold, really poor service. The food quality was then under the microscope, undercooked veg and pathetically thin sliced roast beef, come on The Pant not good enough by half 👎🏻

Called in for Sunday lunch without a booking. Although the restaurant was busy, this did not seem to present a problem. Staff were friendly and attentive. There was a good range of food on the menu. We chose a fairly traditional beef and pork roast meal. The food, when it arrived, was excellent. The surroundings were very good. We moved outside to the garden area for coffee following the meal - again, excellent - nice view over fields and a large pond. Sat watching fish rise. Well worth a visit. .

Wow wow wow. We are in wales visiting this weekend and did a Google search for independent restaurants near Wrexham and somewhere down the list was this Gem!!!! Why on earth it’s not number one on the list I’ll never know. From the minute we walked in we were greeted and allowed to pick a table outside if one was available. The staff are all amazing at their job, welcoming, knowledgable and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. There were four of us and we had the lamb ragu, beef and mushroom pie and the cheese and potato pie. We had some lovely sides too. Menu was l great with plenty to choose from. Tasty fresh food was delivered to the table within a good timescale and we were checked on during the meal too. Desert was to die for. Sticky toffee pudding was the best I’ve tasted and our friends shared the banana waffles - good reports from them too. The setting is idyllic, relaxed and beautiful too. Overall we were so very impressed with this place. We literally could not find any fault here so - - please trust and book - I promise you will not be disappointed. Reasonable bill at the end too! If we didn’t live 7 hours away, we would be here more often for sure. Such a GEM to find - thank you to all of you: kitchen, bar, front of house and waiting staff! 10/10 xxx

Excellent Sunday Roast! Nothing more to add. The only reason for not a full 5 stars is that one of the servers was not happy to be there. But this didn’t ruin our meal. Gorgeous food. Excellent pub. Would 100% return.

Excellent! We went there to celebrate three birthdays with 12 guests. We were welcomed warmly and fast, taken to our beautiful table and quickly brought a fantastic selection of drinks. The food was excellent and perfect. Everyone admired their plates. The staff were absolutely phenomenal

Went for our 12 years old granddaughter,s birthday there were 7 of us altogether. It was extremely busy as it is most times we have been which is a good sign, unfortunately this impacted on our meal immensely. We initially had to wait a good 15 minutes for our drinks, we then have to wait a further 15 minutes for a meal order to be taken. And then after this we waited over an hour and 15 minutes for our meal. When the meal did arrive, it came in dribs and drabs, so some of our table had their meals whilst others didn’t we had to ask for vinegar and mint sauce which was particularly irritating as two of us had lamb, which took a further five minutes. At one point, I had to stand up and go and look for the waitresses with the rest of the meals because they still hadn’t arrived. The meal was fine but unfortunately not as expected for the price as we are paying. And it was quite annoying that a table of three that came in after us had a starter and they main meals before we were even given any of our meals. So all in all a disappointing birthday meal for our 12-year-old granddaughter who unfortunately didn’t enjoy her meal either which was such a shame because this is a lovely public house but I felt because of the amount of people they were serving. It unfortunately impacted on the quality of the service, and the quality of the food. I would definitely say not worth the £200. It cost us to have a meal there.

Expensive but 9 out of 10 times you get a decent enough meal. Service good but staff are busy. Overcharged £20 but pointed out and taken off. Probably still the best in the Wrexham area

Family lunch for 4 and the dog. We booked into daggy area which was just part of the restaurant. Service was speedy and efficient and the food was fabulous We really enjoyed ourselves although rather full at the end.

This establishment has always had an excellent reputation. However, today, being so glorious we decided to have lunch there. Let's get the good over with first:- 1. The scenery and the building is stunning. 2. The food was excellent. Now the poor: 1. Had to wait a while to order drinks. 2.Had to send my Eastgate Cask Ale back ad it was cloudy and tasted awful. 3. The food arrived without cutlery. 4. My side order of veg had not arrived by the time I had almost finished my meal so I cancelled it. 5. Ask for salt and vinegar to go with my chips. The salt never came. 6. The gentleman on the next table ordered an ice cream as a pudding. It arrived without fork or/and spoon. I am sorry for such a negative review but we were si disappointed.

Not the place it was. Used to love going here to see friends I know they have no control over who goes but people won't go if the beer is poor and prices go up and up and thats whats happening. There are local breweries that they could use but choose not to. Food is nice but shot up in price. Shame really.
