Croes Howell in Wrexham

Very disappointed with the Sunday lunch. All looked amazing on the plate but the roast lamb was tough and was accompanied with uncooked vegetables, far too al dente and the plate of food was not served hot enough. I ordered a glass of red wine which should have been included in the price but I was charged for. I should have stopped there but unfortunately I ordered a sherry trifle for dessert, which was nothing more than tasteless wet mushy sponge. Awful! will not return or recommend.

This would have received an excellent rating except for an inconsistency I experienced, the food is excellent - great quality but being a creature of habit I had the same main dish on two weekends - the Steak burger - Not cheap but well worth the cost on the 1st week. I received two patties stacked and they were delicious. the next weekend my burger arrived with only one patty, i enquired why it differed & was told there had been supply issues - fair enough I thought they will adjust the price but no & getting a member of staff's attention was a challenge so we just left it but it has put me off a return visit

We have recently moved to the area from Chester and was looking forward to our first meal out in our new local. I must say it was cheaper for a meal out in Chester than on the edge of Llay?! Very overpriced, a bottle of standard prosecco £32 - no chance. Food I must say was very nice, good size portions, great presentation however again the prices are just too much & the menu limited. Bottomless brunch £35 - again, just way too ambitious. The staff were great and tentative but even though the experience was overall very good, it just isn't worth visiting on a regular occasion due to the prices and I'll be heading over to Rossett or Chester.

My partner and I visited the Croes Howell this evening and the food was amazing. The sea bass was beautifully cooked and the sauce was delicious,my partner thoroughly enjoyed his Rib-Eye steak(he's a self acclaimed steak connoisseur). The manager (Meno) is very professional and welcoming. The service from the waitresses was excellent. The venue is beautifully decorated with amazing views! Would definitely recommend a visit!

Visited for Sunday lunch, the meat and veggie mains were both just right, dessert spot on as well. The only improvement I’d suggest would be to offer a mini pud with a hot drink as a dessert alternative. Service was great and perfectly timed, very clean in the restaurant. All round very good value and a thoroughly pleasant lunch

We went to the Cross Howell for my daughter's birthday as we thought it would be a change from our normal restaurants in Chester. We had viewed the menu on the internet but when we arrived it was very different which was the first disappointment, when were ordering drinks I asked for a pint of bitter but they did not have any only Lager,they offered me some wheat beer which I like but when the girl came to pour it it had run out.We ordered our food, 3 of us had fish and chips for our main course, the fish went down in size from acceptable to just slightly bigger than a fish finger. My wife ordered gammon steak with a fried duck egg ,when it came it was minus the duck egg and her chips were different to our other 3 meals. Overall the quality of the food was average at best and overpriced as we're. the drinks. The 2 girls doing the serving were very good we could not fault them, it's a shame about the rest as the place it self is very nice

Absolutely disgusting.. the staff do not have a clue and the food shown it was not just front of house staff.. from the moment we walked in it was a total mess.. the woman greeted us with hands full of cutlery and menus.. which is always a worrying welcome if they are greeting like that.. once we got to outr table after apparently we did not book !! The words that got said .. we was placed on a wobbly table so I asked could we move and got told there was no other table for us when the restaurant was empty… we just got to the point at this point we did not no weather to leave or stay .. but we stayed .. the food was ok at best .. but very slow coming out as it took 40 minutes for a started then 1 hour for our main after the starter was cleared … we did not stick around for dessert.. the reason I have given 5 /5 is because I give everyone a second chance .. we will be back in the future to see if it’s got better

We visited the Croes Howell yesterday for lunch and it was amazing. Lovely atmosphere even though it was a quiet time. They have a new menu with all the classics available and more and it was one of the nicest meals we've had in Wrexham for a long time. We are total foodies so eat out a lot but usually venture out of the area. The salt and pepper chicken wings were something else and the flat iron steak was melt in your mouth!! My husband had the biggest pie I've ever seen and it was gorgeous. The service was incredible and the staff couldnt do enough for us whilst we were there, thank you Debbie! We will definitely be returning very soon, thank you the Croes Howell for a truly lovely experience and meal!!

Brilliant venue for hosting a baby shower! Helpful from the very beginning, all staff were so friendly. Food was top quality & they accommodated all dietary requirements & last minute changes. Highly recommend.

Booked a table for 18 people for my dads 50th. The staff handled the amount of us there were brilliantly, they also made a big effort with my Dad and made him feel very special. I couldn’t recommend more! The outside area is lovely for photos and the food from the new menu was amazing!

I haven't been to Croes Howell in quite a while but this visit for my daughter-in-laws baby shower was a pleasure from start to finish. The staff were all polite and friendly the venue itself is clean,light and airy and the views over Cheshire are breathtaking The afternoon tea we were served was top quality. Plenty of delicious sandwiches, cakes and scones,tea and coffee. Good value as well. The restaurant was serving late lunch so there were customers enjoying meals.I must say they both looked and smelled amazing. I'm already looking forward to returning to sample the food on the menu .

Very disappointed, we were a group of 15 for a special occasion Sunday lunch. We had to pre order our starters and main meals a few days before we visited. On arrival first impressions were great.We had one young waitress to bring out the food, some people had finished before others had their food, we asked for various sauces to go with the roasts and were told we had to wait until all the food had been given out, by the time the mint sauce was brought out the meal had been finished. Some parts of the food were.very salty, one of the roasts was so small and missing some items we had to ask had they given a children's meal by mistake. Time for the desserts, again what a shambles, we enquired what flavour the cheesecake was and told strawberry, when it arrived it was vanilla with a few berries on top. One person asked for mint choc chip ice-cream, when it arrived it was chocolate with lots of pieces of fresh mint and the stalks chopped in it.We choose the venue as it was for a very special occasion, extremely disappointed and would not recommend or visit again.

My friend and I stopped at the Croes Howell on the off chance we could get lunch. Luckily it was early and it was not yet busy.We ordered the Hake and chips which was delightful. The batter was thin and crispy and the chips were fat crisp and soft in the middle. The meal came with tartare sauce which I am not sure was home made and mushy peas of course! I would heartily recommend both the restaurant which has had some alterations and the meal we had. The view across Wrexham and beyond is very pleasing from the dining room.The menu was fairly large and we were informed that it was a new menu. We didn’t have wine but the choice looked good.The staff were more than helpful and very accommodating. This is well worth a visit and very competive pricing.

Today my sister and I took our mum out for lunch and tried out the new menu. Our waitress (Sophie) made our lunch date better, with her politeness and helpfulness…and I’m not a people person The food was lovely, the steak and ale pie was huge and full of meat. Will definitely be coming back.

We ate at a buffet hired for a private function. The quality of the food was outstanding and the care and attention paid to presenting an inviting array of delicious food was obvious as we watched the trays of food being set up. We had the vegan selection which included three different gourmet sandwiches, sausage rolls and the lightest fluffiest cheesecake with chocolate batons and plates of flapjack. Best buffet award from us!!! The welcome, the quality of the food and the relaxed but courteous service were all much appreciated and helped the function to go smoothly and enjoyably. We would DEFINITELY recommend this place to others.

As good as it was before - excellent food and service - cannot understand the people who’ve given bad reviews, did they go to the same place or get confused ?

Six friends were looking forward to lunch - we thoroughly enjoyed our company together , but the food was very disappointing.The menu offered at table was minimal , completely different from the extensive example online.The soup was accompanied by a tiny triangle of crusty bread and a pat of butter that was larger than the bread itself. Two of us had the vegetable Thai curry which was a very small portion, but could be with chicken or prawns, for an extra £3. The chicken was a few tiny pieces of chicken, and one of our group's choice of a prawn curry came with exactly 3 prawns. That was £1 per ordinary sized prawn!! The kebab dish consisted of two little sticks of 3 tiny chicken bits and a couple of pepper slices. The 2 pieces of pitta bread were almost uneatable, like white leather!Whether this was an unusually bad day or not, the restaurant needs to up its game if it is to attract those who expect a high standard of food and value for money.

I’ve been here twice recently, and both times, the service, food and staff have been second to none. Meno (sorry if I spelt it wrong!) the Manager, couldn’t do enough for us, and both times, the person whose birthday it was had a free drink. Maddie, one of the waitresses was amazing , even finding me a charger when my phone died, so I could keep taking photos. The other staff were great too, i just don’t have their names. The atmosphere was fab and the terrace has amazing views. You made our celebration more special, thanks so much, we will be there again soon!

We visited as a family of four for Sunday dinner. Three of us had a Sunday roast. I had the veggie option of nut roast with mine. When it came it looked great. But the nut roast was stone cold in the middle. It was sent back and another plate was given to me, again the nut roast was cold in the centre. I was offered a third attempt but I was hungry and my family were half way through their food so I declined. The other roast’s meat was poor. We sent back the beef that was just gristle, wouldn’t have given that to our dog! The chicken was very dry and the pork extremely fatty. The veggies and Yorkshires were good. Everything was severely over priced. The atmosphere was poor due to teenage staff standing around chatting, not knowing answers to any of our questions. We don’t mind paying for great food and service - this place offered neither. We won’t be going back.

Visited this afternoon for some tapas, which sounded lovely on the menu however when it turned up (circa 1 hour after ordering) wasn’t great. Chicken wings listed as bourbon glazed, were dry wings with a jam/chutney on the top - not glazed. Have visited the CH several times in the past hopefully a one off, as we are due to move to the new estate on the straight mile shortly.

Visited for the first time since lockdown eased and was looking forward to a lovely lunch to celebrate Father’s Day. We were not disappointed ! The service was excellent, the food was lovely and the portions generous they had also put good measures in to stay Covid safe. Many thanks to Manu and his team. We look forward to coming back soon.

Went for the Sunday Lunch as it was hot we sat outside. Ordered a mojito cocktail very sour bitter taste lacked sugar not a good drink at all !! Our lunch came Luke warm all the ingredients piled on top of each other no presentation at all. Meat not from joins no crackling on pork beef tough turkey tasted processed from a vacuum pack . Roast potatoes under cooked parsnips soggy not roasted properly Yorkshire pudding flat as a pancake. Gravy tasted instant granules no meat flavour All in all terrible not worth the money a frozen meal would have had more flavour. They advertise that the meat is from welsh farmers and the potatoes are super crisp all I can say is that was not the experience we got !!!! We will not be going back not worth the money there are much better places for Sunday Lunch.

We have just returned from our first visit to Croes Howell and it won’t be our last! The staff could not do enough for us snd the food was wonderful . A lovely cocktail to finish off too

A really long wait for our food (over an hour to wait for starters). It was mediocre quality when we received it. Nobody in overall charge. Very poor service (eg failed to provide us with a jug of water and kept informing us that the things we ordered off the menu was not available). Would not advice anyone to waste their time here. Not even busy and poor ambience.

Really enjoyed the Sunday lunch. Huge portions as well but I still managed the 3 courses which was great value for money. Service was fantastic also.

Really lovely sandwiches. Tasty. Little cakes - Bakewell tart yummy. Small lemon cheesecake WOW. Small scones strawberry jam and cream- very tasty. I will definitely return again.

I started with a coffee, it was like drinking the bottom of an ash tray Waited half hour for starter which was poor. Average sausages drenched in an super intense onion relish, it just didn’t go at all. Then had to wait an hour and quarter for our mains! The Sunday lunch was nice when it finally came but it was a small portion, and nearly cold. The lady gave us our meals for free in the end but I still would not recommended it Disappointed as it was my first visit snd heard a lot about the place in the past

Rediscovered this restaurant following new ownership. Excellent Covid precautions, warm welcome, well spaced tables and delightful staff. Food of high standard, good presentation, well chilled wine, attentive service, everything one could ask for, all at reasonable cost.

We visited here again on 18th October 2020.All the covid precautions where in place. We where greeted with a smile and shown to our table.The staff here are so lovely.Our food was outstanding, as is the service and cleanliness of this restaurant.This isn't our first visit and will definitely not be our last.Love it.

We decided to take advantage of the 2 course for £10The restaurant is lovely and the staff were friendly.i had the whiting with mayo which was a good size portion and ham chips and egg , the ham was really tasty I would have liked my chip a bit more cooked but that is only my opinion

Decided to treat ourselves to a meal out before the Government locked us down again and we we're not disappointed. The restaurant has very safe covid precautions in place without spoiling the atmosphere. Our meal was delicious finished off with a lovely cocktail. Hats off to the staff who are working tirelessly to ensure this industry survives. Looking forward to our next meal in the Croes Howell.

Grand opening, what a delight! I was waiting for the day I could have another treat at Croes Howell. Best customer service, best food, a place that always feels like home. Wow where do I start!I booked Croes Howell for my best friends Baby Shower on Saturday 7th March and it was just amazing!!All 25 of us had such a wonderful afternoon and they couldn’t have done enough for us. Right from the booking until the end they were so accommodating. The service was excellent, we couldn’t fault it, the young waitress that served us throughout the day couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly and the Manager Meno was just great! We all had afternoon tea and we couldn’t fault the food, we did have a few veggies and vegans and they catered for us perfectly. Everyone has all commented on how gorgeous the food was! Thank you to all the staff, chefs and Mangers that looked after us throughout the day and before hand! My best friend had such a wonderful day full of lovely memories. If you’re thinking of a celebration I wouldn’t hesitate to book the croes! Thank you!!!! ☺️

Great food. Not the quickest but it’s all fresh. And e burgers are to die for! Worth booking a hour to have a nice long lunch. Won’t be disappoint

In all the time I’ve been coming to the Croes Howell I’ve only complained once and that was deal with professionally. Haven’t been for a while so did half term lunch with my daughters and granddaughter. Brilliant staff as always. Food was excellent - the lunchtime set menu is brilliant. The recent refurbishment is lovely. Atmosphere lovely and despite my granddaughter making a bit of a mess with her menus they were fantastic with her. Thanks Croes Howell we will be back at Easter

Have been to the Croes Howell previously to this Trip and every time we have returned we have found the Service they provide as outstanding! As they have very recently renovated, there is now a Lounge Area as you walk into the Croes Howell where you can sit and enjoy a relaxed Drink & Nibbles. The Food is to die for, with interesting combinations on each Dish, plus they were all priced very reasonably for the standard of Food served. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that appreciates good Food and Service, and I for one will definitely be returning!

Smart, modern decor and lovely open views - an excellent venue for a summer's evening. Food was very good and very pleasantly served. The fruit crumbles were delicious, as were the whitebait starters. Good beer too.The menu pricing needs more clarity - the set lunch menu was difficult to separate, price wise, from the main a la carte. The descriptions of "small plates" and their cost were somewhat confusing! A very enjoyable meal nevertheless.

Myself and my wife, have just got back from our wonderful meal here at The Croes Howell.As we walked in, we where greeted by the manager (Lovely Gentleman) and immediately shown to our table.The waiting on staff where brilliant, very informative and nothing was too much trouble for them.The food was from a set menu (as it was Valentines evening) with lots of options to choose from.The food and service was outstanding.We have been here a few times now and we absolutely love it.Definitely be back.Great job everyone.

Went to our friends birthday party last night and we had a wonderful evening. We were greeted with a prosseco reception followed by a delicious 3 course meal. The Thai curry is lovely, I've had this dish twice now. Service was brilliant even though we were a large party. The meal was followed by a disco and we danced the night away. Thank you Croes Howel for a lovely night

Place was empty but we soon found out why when our food arrived. Place looks tidy on the outside, enticing hard working locals to come in and pay for poo. I would have been better throwing £43.25 in their dirty toilet. We had a roast, veg was undercooked, they ran out of beef (we were one of two tables) I had the chicken, it was dry and the red cabbage resembled what can only be described as poo it also tasted like it, frozen yorkshire too. I could have gone to Aldi paid £6.70 for everything and made a better chicken dinner myself. This is karma for being so lazy. This was most certainly not a winner winner! The manager needs a new job he’d make more money painting houses from the looks of the outside, he needs a lesson from old Gorden I think. Unfortunately I don’t know Gordon Ramsey personally but if anyone reading this does please tell him to go to the Croes Howell and save the place, I shouldn’t describe the manager as a “‘manager” I’d describe him as the tumor that is destroying what could be a lovely establishment.

Just had a very pleasant afternoon tea with exceptional service, pleasant views and atmosphere. Food presented from on view kitchen which I really appreciate. Will definitely return.

We booked late so were grateful to be accommodated. Our table was made available shortly after our arrival and we were greeted warmly by the staff who were understandably very busy. We had pre-ordered our menu choices which were all lovely. From our perspective, the restaurant wasn't over-crowded and we noticed that the manager circulated throughout to ensure that everyone was happy. As expected from one of busiest days of the year, service was busy and so it wasn't a problem for us to order extra drinks from the bar. All in all, very good.

We took two visiting frieds for an early evening meal......WOW...! The food, staff, decor, all outstanding! Cannot be faulted. We will definitely be making it our local!!!!

What an outstanding effort by the Croes Howell Restaurant Food delicious comfy seating atmosphere great and the staff were exceptionally organised. Lovely experience.

We visited yesterday evening in a family group of 23, ranging from a 2 year old to a 91 year old.

The service at the Croes Howell yesterday for Christmas lunch was awful. The table was booked for 12:30pm and the waiter tried to serve our starters at 12:30pm before our whole party had turned up. I said can we please wait for the others to arrive first. The three family members we were waiting for turned up only 10 mins late at 12:40pm so then I called the waitress over and said it was okay to bring out the starters now but we then had to wait 45 mins for the starters to come out again. After the starter plates were cleared we then had to wait approx an hour before the mains turned up! After desert i had to ask the waitress myself for our coffee/teas/mince pies. We were then told at 3pm that the table was booked out again at 3:30pm and we had to be gone by then! Maybe if our food was served in a more timely manner we would have not felt rushed to go. The sprouts were so hard you couldn’t get your fork through them, my niece had veg missing off her plate so I had to call the waitress over again and the coffees were cold. This was a very poor experience for Christmas Day and we will never book here again.

I booked 18 of us for Boxing day lunch 2019. Preordered food menu over a week before and paid a deposit. It took 40mins before starter came out. Some of us who weren't having starters waited over an hour for the main. Spaghetti hadn't been delivered so my daughter ended up with pasta and Broccoli replaced the asparagus promised for the rissoto dish. We only knew this after they'd served the food infront of us. Desert was 2 hours after arriving. 3 of the party had to leave before having dessert.

Visited today 26/12/19 with my husband our 3 year old and 9 year old and my parents.

Very friendly and attentive staff, and lovely 2 courses from lunchtime menu. Always liked the decor and surroundings of the restaurant but even better with the recent refurb. Will definitely call again soon

I went to this restaurant with my family. It looks lovely and I have to admit it was the christmas party season...

Booked last minute for three people, I was told when booking that they also had a party of 60 in so service may be slower. Due to this, on arrival, we were given free appetisers. We didn't have to wait too long and the food was definitely worth it. Even though the large party meant everyone was incredibly busy three different members of staff, including the manager, came over during the evening to make sure everything was ok. 5 star food and service.

Daughters 20th birthday party last night, group of 10 had a lovely night. We were very well looked after and the food was amazing. Faultless service will be visiting again soon !!!

Went with a group of friends. The food was excellent, staff very friendly and attentive and a wonderful ambiance. One of our party has a food allergy and the chef came out to discuss the menu with her and adapted her menu choice to suit. Why have we not been here before? We will definitely return. Highly recommend a visit.

As a party of four, we had a very pleasant evening dining at Croes Howell. The ambience is good, with plenty of room between tables. The staff were friendly, cheerful and most helpful although unusually we had to ask for more drinks rather than being asked. The meals served were really delicious and well presented. The chef, who I believe is relatively new in post prepared excellent dishes. All in all a most enjoyable evening at an acceptable cost

We had a wonderful afternoon tea for my sisters Baby Shower on Sunday 10th November 2019, ALL the staff were extremely attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them, the food was absolutely delicious. They even put a screen up to make us feel like we had our own little private area, was wonderful. So a big thank you to the 2 lovely ladies who helped us when we got there, the kitchen staff for the DELICIOUS food and Cory for seeing to all our alcohol needs, LOVE the Croes Howell

Visited here yesterday (November 6th) for my Wifes Birthday.

Booked to go here last Sunday on a whim (haven’t been here since it was refurbished). Safe to say we weren’t disappointed! The food was lovely, everything had been cooked or made fresh including mushy peas and tartar sauce. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend and return!

Booked a table for 7.30pm, as we ordered we were told there was a bit of a wait for starters due to a party opposite.

Family meal to celebrate our sons 16th birthday, food was superb and staff were excellent!! You should stop and give it a try, we will be back!!!!

Sunday late afternoon lunch with family. A warm welcome, great table with amazing views over Wales and the Cheshire plain! A selection of different roasts were ordered of which the portions were very generous, all the food piping hot and thoroughly tasty. Friendly and informative service throughout the meal. Good quality wines at very reasonable prices. A great afternoon with quality family time.

Visited today to celebrate daughter getting her degree. Food was lovely - three young children had starters, main and puds and ate the lot! (Very unusual) - and adults also had two or three courses all of which were a success. But it was the service and attention to detail that made it such a lovely afternoon. The manager and her side kick are soooo very friendly and really do want everyone to have a good experience - Including the children.

There were 16 of us to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, and we couldn't have chosen anywhere better to do it. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the drinks too. The environment is welcoming as are the staff. It really is a lovely place to eat!

We took our Grandchildren out to our favourite restaurant... The Croes Howell... They've just had a beautiful and tasteful refurb! We were able to browse the new Autumn menu whilst having a drink at the bar and enjoying the company of Meno (the utterly delightful Restaurant Manager). The menu offered a wonderful selection and it was so difficult to chose!! Our chosen dishes were absolutely divine and every mouthful was savoured! I cannot recommend the Croes Howell enough! All staff are knowledgeable of the menu and able to advise of dietary requirements. It is a lovely warm and welcoming venue suitable for all ages. From a light lunch to planning your wedding/ event... They can accommodate your every need! Love this place! (also a stunning apartment upstairs if you need to stay over)

We’re staying locally and really liked the look of the restaurant and it’s fantastic views from the terrace. We booked for dinner and loved the friendly atmosphere, great bar and attentive staff. The menu was really appealing and both our starters and main courses were excellent and we had a fantastic night, will definitely return

We had 6 dishes from the tapas menu and they were all gorgeous as well as being well-presented. We also had the Shiraz which was very good. The service was excellent: attentive without being intrusive. I would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant.

Booked a table for 7.30 last night arrived on time but nobody at the bar or to show us to our table.We had to wait a few minutes and then we asked a member of staff about our booking we were then shown to a table (not reserved). Firstly the menu is not as advertised on their web site so we had to order off the new menu. I had the chicken which was basically a tough chicken breast on new potatoes with mushroom sauce and 2 very small sprigs of broccoli - very poor value for money.We were reluctant to order a dessert but decided to anyway.key lime cheese cake arrived - loose crumbed biscuit on a plate topped with a dollop of under set cheese cake mix with a freeze dried slice of lime. I always choose cheese cake as this is my favourite dessert and have never seen anything like this. The good points were the two members of serving staff were cheerful and helpful.

From the moment we walked in we were made to feel welcome, staff very friendly and very helpful. Food very good and very good portions. All round a very pleasant and enjoyable evening will definitely come back.

This special occasion was absolutely fabulous. The staff were wonderful - they made the place look beautiful for my 45 guests and couldn't do enough to ensure the night ran smoothly. All 3 courses came out on time, tasted beautiful and pleased all guests. Fabulous service from start to finish. Loved every minute. So so impressed. Thankyou so much Croes Howell! It was perfect.

Menu is presented as fine dinning & given its the location priced as such but the quality of the food is poor and not recommended.

We went there a few years ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal so decided to go there again as a family for Sunday lunch. I ordered the chicken and it was extremely dry and flavourless. I was unable to complain directly as I was my in-laws so did not want to make them feel uncomfortable.

Many thanks to Meno and his team for looking after myself and my friends and family to celebrate my hen do. The service was excellent from friendly staff and the food was very good. Would definitely recommend a visit and we were allowed to decorate our table so the place is perfect for parties.

Myself and my wife visited here on Wednesday eve. We where greeted by the manager, sat down and had a drink followed by a fantastic meal.

We went along to the Croes Howell last night, following a recent refurbishment. From the helpfulness on the phone while booking a table to the frendliness of the staff once we were there, it was lovely. Cory, the assistant manager stood out particularly. The food was lovely (I went for the fish and chips. Huge piece of fish; excellent) and the cheese board was spot on. The chef apologised for there being no grapes, so offered more cheese, or crackers or alternative fruit. I thought that that gesture was perfect.

Excellent service and food, as always. Fantastic views and location. There seem to be people who have complained and got into arguments on this site about pricing at this establishment.

Wish I’d taken more photos but I was too eager to eat. Had the lamb which was cooked beautifully. The views from our table were beautiful and really added to the whole experience. Thoroughly enjoyed myself

Nice setting and a bit out of the way so it is very peaceful. The food was brilliant although the halloumi burger I tried was very spicy which wasn’t expected, however aside for this it was wonderful and the goats cheese especially was beyond delicious! I’d recommend the tapas style foods as they were brilliant and perfect size to mix and match.

Sadly just returned home from yet another fantastic stay in the apartment above the restaurant and counting the days till we go back. I can't praise it enough, the food is out of this world thanks to Kat, the head chef, our waiter Meno can't do enough for you, all the staff are just amazing. The owners children arranged a surprise 75th birthday party for their Dad who has recently been recovering from ill health and wow they did him proud with fabulous food, service and topped the night off with a beautiful fire work display. Cant thank you enough for a truly wonderful weekend. See you all very soon

Food is lovely. Well presented, fresh and cooked to perfection. Been two nights on the run as the mango and chicken salad is top class. Partner had one of there home cooked beef burgers yesterday and their fish and chips today. Plates cleared each time. Staff really helpful friendly and polite. Quality service in a clean fresh environment with some beautiful Scenery. If your in the area I highly recommend a visit for some quality food and top service.

Another lovely meal at the Croes Howell. Nice small plates mean you can build your own tapas. Such a wide choice of fish, meat, pasta dishes. Something to suit every taste, and all presented wonderfully. Beautiful desserts too. Service and staff as usual are very friendly and attentive. Cannot fault this place which apparently has been open 9 years now !! Good luck with the refurbishment & look forward to seeing the revamp when it's finished. Thanks again !!

After a long day out we decided to take some friends we had not seen in a long while for a meal. 8 adults 3 kids.

We visited for lunch and the food was amazing. Staff were lovey and attentive. Will definitely be going back.

What a fantastic night. Our leaving meal before our adventure out of the country to start a new life. Welcomed by supervisor Cory. What’s a pleasant, welcoming young man. Delivered excellent service throughout. Attentive to all our requirements and understanding at the same time. Fantastic chefs, providing exquisite food. Peri Peri Chicken, moist and succulent, Pork Medallions to die for, and baked hake a soft and flaky as you could ask for. Credit to both Cory and the Chefs for an amazing experience. Continue the good work.

Our first visit, rather disappointing. 2 of the 4 of us had mussels as a starter, only 10 mussels between us, 4 of which were closed. We did mention this and nothing was said at the time or later!! The other 2 said their mains were poor! Serving staff were young, lacking in people skills and clearly need more training.

I booked the venue for afternoon tea for around 64 adults & 22 children to celebrate my little boys naming day. I asked upon booking if any discount could be applied as I was booking for so many & was told they could deduct £2 per head for adults but nothing for the children (at the time of booking, it was £12.50 per adult & £6.50 per child but the adult fee has since doubled!). I then visited for lunch & seen a flyer stating that if you book a celebration there, certain things can be offered so I enquired and was told that we would receive 12 bottles of prosecco for our guests which was of course a nice gesture but not something that I had specifically requested.

Went for lunch on 08/06/2019, greeted by very welcoming staff who showed us to our table. Was recommended the newly created cocktail of the day which absolutely lovely, we had a 3 course meal from their extensive A La Carter menu, we would highly recommend the sharing platter from the grill, and also the chocolate and strawberry tart. This is a great location with stunning views, service with a smile. Would highly recommend and would be sure to visit again

Fantastic atmosphere, the food was delicious and staff were very friendly and a big thank you to staff member Mark for making our 10 year anniversary so special.

Lovely visit to the Croes today. Lovely restaurant with very attentive staff. The food was very nice and well cooked. The food was served very hot. I choose the steak and Stilton focaccia which was cooked perfect. Over all a lovely afternoon. Will definitely be returning soon.

Didn’t want to say anything while I was there because I felt bad on the young girl while paying.

Come to the Croes on Friday night with the family to celebrate a 18th birthday.

Would highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit, excellent food and service...it was really busy the night we were there with a large group in but it didn't hinder the service or food we received.. amazing 👍

Fabulous menu of Welsh fayre. The torched Anglesey Mackerel was so tasty. I never really rave over mackerel but this was exceptional. The Welsh cheese board was also good,Perl Las being my favourite. It was beautifully presented and each course came with a different welsh gin. Aber Falls orange marmalade gin to go with the chocolate pudding was inspired. Looking forward to the next speciality evening.

Large table booked with family and it was just horrendous. I waited just under two hours for my starter, along with a few others. Some received theirs after 1.5 hours, but sent dishes back, e.g. duck hash, which was horrible and tough, served with a hard poached egg.

What a beutifull restaurant. From the welcoming staff to the fabolous food i couldnt fault it . Would highly recommend a visit
