Thank you, Moira, for making us welcome. It was a memorable evening. We came across the Old Courthouse next to the castle just by chance and it was the highlight of our holiday. We had a very delicious three-course dinner expertly prepared with high quality and mostly locally sourced ingredients. I recommend the carrot and ginger soup. My partner's steak was perfect and it was served with freshly made hollandaise sauce. What made the evening so special was the impromptu piece that you played on the grand piano. An unforgettable experience that we treasure.

We visited the pub that is located in this hotel twice this week. It can only be described as an extraordinary experience. The kitchen is fantastic! This goes for both the Thai as well as the Welsh food. The beer is great, the atmosphere could not be better. The locals are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome as a tourist. The area around is beautiful, the scenery breath taking. What an awesome place! Apart from one other pub we visited during our holidays, this is definitely the best pub we have been to in Wales. To be honest, this is potentially the best pub I have ever visited anywhere.

We stayed for 2 nights in the main house. Very traditional, stately home, with antique furniture, wood panelling. Every member of staff is excellent, super helpful and friendly. Dining room people especially lovely. Food was good, but disappointing to have the same menu on both nights Lost one star as our room was so hot, in February. We turned the radiator off, opened the double glazing, guess that was why there was A/C in the room, we needed it. Also, the bathroom wasn’t that nice, very old bath with awkward shower over Gardens are stunning. If you ask, and they have time, you can go up the 12th century tower for amazing views. We used the spa on both days, nice pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Expensive, but a nice treat.

We’ve just returned from another fantastic stay at Outdoor Alternative in Rhoscolyn, and once again, it was everything we hoped for and more. We stayed in Mulfran, the house has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing getaway. It is spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped. Jacqui and Mark were as wonderful as ever, Jacqui prepared a delicious one-pot supper for us that was a perfect end to our first day. The location is unbeatable – we had stunning walks, plenty of beach time, and even kayaking, all accessible right from the house. We’ve been coming for years, and this place never disappoints.

We have visited here twice in a week. On both visits, the food was excellent, delivered quickly, by friendly attentive staff. I have reviewed recently and mentioned that we always have the same meals, so I’m sorry that the photos will be fish & chips and pie & chips again!! However, I feel that an enjoyable experience is worthy of another mention. Thank you Coral and your lovely staff, we will be back soon.

I’ve visited many pubs in my time, I’ve never come across one with such a heartwarming, authentic and fun atmosphere as The Ship Aground. Lovely bar staff, excellent landlord and a supreme cook named Dan who amazed us with his works. I fully recommend giving this place a visit when you have the chance!

Reading the reviews and the comments about this establishment serving the best breakfast in wales we decided to give it a try whilst visiting the area in our motorhome. Entering the cafe to ask for a menu and about eating inside with our dogs i stood around waiting for a waitress to make contact but was completely ignored, not a good start. I eventually spoke to a young lady who advised me where to sit. I went to order at the till and watched a lady cooking at the griddle, to see her throwing full rounds of bread into deep fat fryers was quite off putting along with the piles of bacon bubbling away in white salty foam,I would call it lazy cooking. Maybe we should have give it a miss at this stage? The breakfast was served in a timely manner, at best I would describe it as a greasy spoon meal with low quality ingredients cooked with no care. The bacon served was covered in black bits from a dirty griddle. Nothing like what we read in the reviews. Such a shame as the setting is absolutely perfect for a cafe.

Visited today wanting something to eat for lunch.Greeted by the shop assistant who pocked her finger in a pie to see if it was warm and picked up a sausage with her fingers all without gloves. She asked what we wanted to which i replied nothing and walk out. I think they need to look at their hygiene training.

This cafe is picture perfect & if my memory is correct dates back to 13th Century. It is right in the centre of Aberdaron with lots of outdoor seating. We had a dog with us, so sat outside. Tables & seating are getting to the point that they could do with a bit of refurbishment. We had a coffee, cold brink & Bakewell tart. All were good & would revisit.
