Charming hotel with great views. Emma who looked after the hotel was helpful and friendly . The food was good and prepared to order. The hotel was quiet due to it being February re tourists. No locals came into the bar which is a pity as it’s always nice to hear from people who actually live there so this should be encouraged somehow. Decor could do with upgrading .

The menu includes fish, meat, veggie options. Plated with class and served pleasantly by staff. One night I had the carrot wellington which had particularly good filling of carrot, onion, and spinach. Another night had the creamy risotto with asparagus & peas. Both were very satisfying. Desserts outstanding. The Carnacrach looked scruptious but I chose poached pear for a lighter choice. Had the Toffee Cake with sauce and the smallest scoop of vanilla ice cream. I would’ve enjoyed a little more ice cream with this large piece of cake.

Great lunch. Newly decorated and very welcoming ( loved the wood used for some of the seating). Staff were lovely. I had a Falafel wrap and stole a few of my other half's proper chunky chips. I had the delicious raspberry cheesecake and a spoonful of his sticky toffee pud (very nice). I've got my eye on a sharing platter for next time.

6 of us went in for a bar lunch today at 12:15pm, we ordered 2 tuna, mayo and mozzarella panini's, 3 steak and onion paninis, 3 coffees, soft drinks and a child's meal of macaroni cheese and chips. By 12:50 we were still waiting for the food and the coffees were finished. The child's meal arrived which was only lukewarm so was returned to be heated up. The tuna paninis eventually arrived and we were told the steak and onions was being cooked - we had finished the tuna paninis before the steak ones finally arrived. There was no mention on the menu of the steak being in a marinade and one of the ladies found it tasted vinegary plus she found a lemon pip on her steak. We finally finished our meal at 1:40 but none of us really enjoyed it because of the lengthy wait - and the way the food came in dribs and drabs. To be fair, the young man who served us was pleasant and very apologetic, he gave us refills of our coffee on the house and didn't charge for the steak and onion panini which had the lemon pip in it but the whole experience left us feeling we won't be going back

Visited on a Friday for lunch and was very disappointed. Ham and cheese toasted sandwich was poor quality for the price with cheap ham and bread which was barely toasted. Burger was a bit better although the pepper sauce came served with a horrible skin on the top which shows how long it had been sat under hot lights for and it seems silly to pay and order your chips separately so it was almost £16 for a burger and chips! Staff were pleasant and service wasn’t bad but the tables were sticky and the bathrooms a health hazard! No plug in the sink so you could see/smell the drains below and no soap which is a huge red flag for hygiene. Definitely won’t be visiting again!

I've eaten here a fair few times and the food has also been consistently good, and the service ok. However, 4 of us went for dinner Sat 31/08, and the food was ok (some main dishes are a bot overpriced for what you get), BUT the service was shocking. We arrived at 7.30pm for our 7.30pm reservation. Waited a good 15 mins 7 had to keep waving to order drinks. Took them a wee while to take food orders too. I was the only one who had a started (big mistake). We basically then waited until 8.50pm when our mains were served. We very nearly stood up & walked out. Then we had to chase the bill - the staff who were on knew we were unhappy, and deducted the price of 2 drinks from our bill, but there was no communication when we paid the bill, no 'I'm sorry, we're short staffed' or anything like that. My 3 friends had never been here before & are very unlikely to return having got such a poor initial impression. As for me, I probably will return, but if the service hasn't vastly improved, that'll be the final time.

Was expecting great quality fresh food . But very disappointed . Looking forward to local mussels but off the menu . Scallops were fresh but the sauce let it down and the bread was stale and expensive . Both in the end had fish and chips , that was two very small pieces of fish each , couldn't hardly see any fish , most likely frozen due to the texture and appearance . Staff were excellent and beer was good
