Went here and had a speldid meal and enjoy every second! Would come again and 0lan on another visit!

Yo estaba en el Garret en Mintlaw para una despedida de soltero que era un té de intoxicantes de fiesta con un disco después. No me puedo quejar por la relación calidad-precio y servicio. El personal era rápido con servicio y muy servicial y amable. Me encantó especialmente el tazas viejas y platillos y la teteras que nuestro cócteles. La comida era buena y abundante. La discoteca después fue genial, la DJ que algunas peticiones de buena vieja cursi, pero también tenía mucho más para escoger. Todos pasamos una noche aquí

Un gran pub adecuado para todo el mundo! Siempre hay un ambiente agradable, música en vivo y ocasionalmente. El personal es cortés y la bebida es razonable. Su siempre concurrida aquí!

Era sábado por la noche aquí después de un paseo patrocinado. Los lugareños son muy divertidos. Bien de precio y muy amable. Lo recomiendo.

Visitaremos el Garret para comer sobre una base regular y la razón : - magnífica comida siempre! Personal agradable y encantador.

I had lunch on Thursday , the two main courses for £10, are unbelievable value for money, friendly staff , beats the local competitor hands down

Arranged a last min meal for 8 - staff were very helpful in accommodating us as also had a 50th birthday on later that evening and needed our table back. Plenty of meal options, food was very nice and great value.

A friendly pub with excellent hosts, with a good range of beers and spirits in the lounge and bar areas you can also get a great home cooked meal.

Shocking service waiter didnt know anything about the menu. the lounge that others have said was nicely decorated looked like it went out of fashion in 1965! Went on a sun evening and was delighted to see a load of drunks that have to treck from the bar through the lounge to go to the toilet. One didnt make the toilet and was sick on the way which left a nice aroma through the lounge. Iced water comes with 2 ice cubes, roast beef comes with a table spoon of gravy if you are lucky and the mash was full of lumps and bumbs. The reviews above could only have been written by their own staff! Avoid avoid avoid!

Had a great meal here for mothers day. The food was lovely, the staff polite and attentive and a great price. The Garret had gone to the effort of decorating the room and on leaving mum and I both received a packet of tablet tied up with a lovely Mothers Day ribbon which just finished off the meal perfectly.

Went here for an evening meal, the food was delicious, all homemade and plenty of it. The menu although quite small had something for everyone. The lounge was nicely decorated with well laid out tables. The staff were extremely nice and attentive. Only negative is it is upstairs therefore unsuitable for some people.

Our party of four adults and a child went for an evening meal on a Saturday evening and could not fault the service or meal in any way. The furnishing and décor may benefit from an update but according to the females the toilets were immaculate. The waitress was very attentive, supplied us with a can of Coca-Cola for the cost of a dash. The meals were all hot, of good quality and served all together which is not always the case. An enjoyable evening was had by everyone and we hope to visit again shortly.

I have been in the Garret many many times and have never had a bad meal, have never been able to criticise the staff and thinks the surroundings are wonderful. I think the person who wrote the bad review must have been at another venue. Linda and Colin have brought something back to the village of Mintlaw that was lost several years ago! They have encouraged the community to come to their bar/restaurant, they always make sure their regular customers are looked after, they look after the young people of the area like they were their own, always making sure they are ok after a night's drinking. The food is fantastic and they are always keen to know your opinion, if there is anything they can change etc. As hosts they are very rare, nothing is too much trouble, as restauranters, their food is fantastic, the surroundings are extremely clean and comfortable. Ok is is not the most modern and updated place in the work but everyone who goes there can be comfortable and relax and enjoy their food or their meal. Ask anyone in the village or surrouding areas, young or old - the Garret is THE place to be - friendly, good food, great atmosphere, good bands at the weekends and most of all INTERESTED! The village of Mintlaw was dying and they brought back a central place where all can mix, young and old. I will continue to frequent the Garret, because mine hosts give me something that is rare, conviviality, and they CARE what their customers think.

I think we must have been at a different restuarant from the other reviews! I agree the lounge needs updating, reminded me of a bingo hall and yes the tables are very small, set for four but no waycan 4 adults eat around them. We were a party of 4 adults and ended up putting 2 tables together. We ate on a Thursday night and were the only people eating. First they had to check if the chef was cooking, then we had a very limited menu to chose from. One entree was listed as garlic mushrooms on croutons but it was just mushrooms on toast, a prawn cocktail but requested with little sauce was requested came smothered with sauce. The mains were 2 lots of chicken fillets, which came heavily breaded so could have been nuggets for all we knew, a scampi salad and breaded haddock, all heavily breaded with the same salad. There was also potatoes or chips plus vegetables,so size wise quite generous but not as we expected. Service was almost non existant, one person pouring drinks and serving the food, not the most personable waiter. Parking was easy, right out the front.

Great choice on menu, food delicious, service great too, waitress friendly and polite, lounge was clean and toilets the same, puddings were huge and again a great variety to choose from, kids loved the food too..

Good homemade food with friendly waitress. After taking our order with advice from our waitress we did not have to wait long before our well prepared meals arrived. They tasted as good as they looked and enjoyed by all. The total bill was very reasonable and the evening was enjoyed by everyone. The Lounge itself could do with a refurbish and being upstairs may be ackward for some diners.

Visiting relatives in Mintlaw and they booked a meal for the 4 of us at the Garret. The dining room is upstairs, not the best decor and the tables are very small (fine for 2 people but very cramped for 4 people). We ordered soup of the day, green pea, which was apparently 'delicious', a prawn cocktail and battered garlic mushrooms, lovely light crisp batter. The beef pie was gorgeous, fresh vegetables and then two of us managed to force in some of the clarty pudding - like sticky toffee pudding but very light and scrummy. All in all a lovely meal, good service, good price. Recommended and we will be going there again next time we visit Mintlaw.

We booked in advance and our table was nicely decorated for the occasion.
