The best restaurants serving British food in South West Scotland

Very expensive but food was nothing special. Fish was cooked fresh but chips tasted like they'd been pre-cooked and sitting a while. Portions are very small for the money too. Maybe a bit too reliant on being the only chippy on Arran and one of the few takeaways in Brodick that's open in the evening. Don't know that I'd have gone back if there was any other choice.

The food is always fantastic and service is always great and there’s a nice atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble and prices are reasonable.

Lovely Sunday lunch in newly refurbished restaurant. Food and presentation was excellent, more than a little effort had been put in and sweets sumptuous. Staff very pleasant and efficient. An enjoyable experience. Hotel set in the lovely Clydeside.

Food was disgusting, I’m sure it had been cooked the day before and reheated. There was a cleaner with an industrial cleaner washing the carpet while we were eating. The barman said he didn’t know we were coming although they had confirmed the booking online. We weren’t offered a discount after complaining about the food. We will definitely not be back.

There were 5 of us booked into to get some food. I got the salt and pepper shredded chicken with curry sauce. Oh what a lot of food. The dish comes with a large portion of rice and a watercress garnish. Absolutely delicious. Food was piping hot. Staff were all very attentive and professional. We were last out and we didn’t feel like we were being pushed out. Amazing food well done and we will be back down

said it was open, wouldn’t let me order online and didn’t answer the phone either? went down to collect food from another place, it wasn’t even open!!! 5pm on a thursday aswell, glad i didn’t order anyway based on other reviews!!

Style over flavour.I ordered banofee pie which looked delicious but sadly lacked any flavour.The base was so thick it was inedible so I ate the top.No flavour from the toffee and I think I had 2 very,very slim pieces of banana.Tea was fine. Refused a glass of water to take my medication.

This popular restuarant/wedding venue has suddenly closed down without notice leaving many young couples and others searching for new venues at very short notice.

Delighted that the hotel had reopened and thought we would try it out during our recent visit to the island. Arrived too early for lunch, so thought we would kill time and have a coffee until service started. Disappointed when we were refused coffees and turned away as it wasn’t yet 12pm. When we asked to use the toilets we were informed they were for customers only. Sometimes you can’t win.

oh my the food was amazing the pizza delicious, we got my grandson the fish fingers the fish was real fish and had to order him another portion of chips the most he has ate we will certainly be back

I saw a woman potentially a manager giving a lad grief for no reason if I remember he was the only lad who was working I actually felt bad for him I cannot remember the dates specifically coffee was amazing however

Lovely lunch staff were great even accommodated our doggy Daisy with some sausages..well worth the money thank you so much x
