Lovely wee cafe on Ayr beach front. A welcome visit on a blustery day. If it’s good enough for Karen Dunbar, it’s good enough for us

This cozy chilled cafe is a great spot to enjoy a bite to eat, coffee and treat. I had the three cheese toastie with chorizo which was perfect and my son enjoyed the kids macaroni cheese. We shared a raspberry and white chocolate cookie after. Nicest coffee I’ve had in a while. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!!

Et bien nous nous sommes régalés ! J'ai mangé un apple pie tellement bon ! Il fondait en bouche ! Mon ami a adoré son gros muffin chocolat framboise. Le serveuse était adorable. Nous n'avons qu'un regret. C'est de ne pas en avoir pris le double pour en avoir le lendemain

Started off nice after the new ownership but sadly its back to being rotten.The pizza crunch was soggy & dripping with grease and the chips had a horrible oily taste.I thought the italian sausage on the pizza would be something better but its just plain pepperoni.The pizza was also very thin and could have done with another 5 mins in the oven.very disappointing

Food was disgusting, I’m sure it had been cooked the day before and reheated. There was a cleaner with an industrial cleaner washing the carpet while we were eating. The barman said he didn’t know we were coming although they had confirmed the booking online. We weren’t offered a discount after complaining about the food. We will definitely not be back.

So went to pick up new Glasses today and as I was straight after work early shift was hungry . A Piri Piri place in mall Called Black Rooster ( yea crazy a chicken place ). It had advertised “ Vegetarian “ menu. Corn burger Paneer wrap Halloumi burger All of these. £4.50. With a variety of “ sauce” flavours . I had decided on the “ corn burger 🍔” Oh sorry we’ve “ phased “ those out . Puzzled look on my face … Ok I no would like the Halloumi Burger. Ahhh ok. With what sauce and do you want lettuce and Mayo Yes please Said I. I really want you to enjoy this I will have the Spicey BBQ please and make that a meal thanks that will be £7.50 Now at this point I sat more in Hope than confidence that this wasn’t a hooge mistake . Sadly it turned out my initial feelings were founded. This mess is what turned up . When is a burger not a burger !! I spoke to a staff member explaining my confusion. Oh we’ve “ phased out the Halloumi burgers” and we now only use the halloumi sticks !!! What would you like to do ? The manager should have explained this when she took your order. I’m sorry if she didn’t . Please just refund me. Thank you. So the moral in the Tale . If it’s a Chicken shop . No matter how “ cool and on trend they want to be seen as having vegetarian options. They will most likely still be a piri piri chicken shop that wants to be Nando’s but still fail with even the basics. 🤮

Never had a full breakfast that's been so full off grease before never again will I order that again.

The food is always fantastic and service is always great and there’s a nice atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble and prices are reasonable.

Thoroughly enjoyed a Baby Shower High Tea in Nel and Co with family and friends. We were warmly welcomed and assistance was kindly offered to help decorate the area for the special occasion. The sandwiches were plentiful, unlike many other High Teas, with a variety of tasty fillings. This was followed by a vast array of cakes and scones! In fact all members of the party, 10 adults in total left with goodie bags to take home! A special cake stand was prepared for a toddler which made her feel very special! This was greatly appreciated! Furthermore, throughout the afternoon the staff were very attentive and could not have been more helpful! In fact they went ‘above and beyond!’ Almost every member of the group stated that they would definitely make a return visit! Many thanks to everyone concerned for making our event extra special!!

¿Por dónde empezar con el desastre que era la comida del día de Navidad. El evento se anunciaba como si tuviera un animador infantil, cuando en realidad tenían un pintor de caras escondido literalmente detrás de un árbol de Navidad en la esquina. Ningún niño estaba siendo entretenido. Demasiado ocupado así que el servicio de comida fue un desastre. El personal parecía estresado y confundido, por decir lo menos. No había ambiente y después de unos noventa minutos finalmente se puso música. Luego, para colmo, escuchamos a un cliente que le devolvió la comida siendo llamado 'gordo, jodido c**t' por la camarera cuando salió de la mesa. Horrible experiencia e ignorando mis correos electrónicos hasta ahora. ¡Evita!

Thumbs up - it's back! (new owners Apr '25 must have changed name to the Courtyard Cafe) Tried this place again after taken over by new owners April '25 - I see they're open nights now too with proper pizza ovens for takeaways and expensive looking coffee machines - my large latte was best coffee have had in a while! Huge sausage rolls and steak-pies kind of like a more 'upmarket' Greggs, plus the restaurant seems to have been refurbed aswell. Staff v.friendly - previous staff in years gone by tried their best but were clearly scunnered with the way it was run in the past. Previous owner was always angry / cheeky, made 'mistakes' on the bill, and the food / service was disappointing to put it mildly(!) glad I've got another good place back now for good sit-in lunch and the occasional takeaway treat - went back to try their lunch, really friendly new owner guy and so went back for a pizza about 7pm - fresh and super tasty way better than some of the greasy chip-shops in Largs. Would def recommend. Will be back with the family next week for a sit-in meal :)

Cup stained and hairy. Teaspoon apple crumbled. Scone watery taste. Staff scratching head. Won't be back. Disgusting!

I have been coming here amidst the pandemic, and the service here is terrific. The food is genuinely tasty, but can be a bit hot sometimes (burnt my mouth a bit recently). Staff are very kind and patient and do put in a lot of hard work to make the place safe and virus free. Happy to call this a regular in the future.

Well i got nachos and chicken curry it was stane cal my m8 got cheese burger and chips it was stane cal took it back in and the wee guy in back put it in the microwave to reheat which the chips wer made rubbery and burger you cudny chew the nachos wer like a tyre aff ma bike as for my milkshake it was more like a watershake i wouldnt recommend this place it shud be called only fooled an sauces AVOID
