Been here a few times, it’s always had long waiting times but the place is a shambles. About 8 members of staff and no structure, they all do a bit of everything but don’t actually finish anything. Lack of control or structure leads to delays. Arrived and no order taken after the 20 p mins. Table next to us even said they’re before us. We then get one drink but had to ask for my coffee twice. The lady apologies, starts making it and wanders off again. Food comes, baked potato dry and table next to us said the same. We had to ask two seperate waitresses for condiments. Sat waiting to eat our meal. Table next to us get theirs and the waitress drops half their chips on the table and walks off. No replacement or apology. Then go to pay and stand with again no apology for the wait whilst 3 of them around the till. Showing a girl how to use it but 3 of you! Will not be back!!?

Had freshly made Carrot & Corriander soup which was so tasty. Then vegetable curry with poppadoms flat bread and rice. Also had fish and chips which was super. It was top class... served by such a charming, friendly couple. Highly recommended... Thank you!

Lovely place in a lovely location. The Taj Mahal, the Indian over the road is fantastic if you are in late, can't recommend both places enough

We had a lovely afternoon in the Westend today. The food was absolutely amazing, loads to choose from the menu including gluten free which was perfect for one of our party. Service was outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant. If you are in the area pop in and try it out for for yourself.

This is lovely room with great views across the water. The young wait staff are very polite and attentive. Unfortunately that's about all we could praise on our visit. Firstly, we were seated by the window but it was very sunny and we were informed the blinds on the window were broken and couldn't be lowered to make it more comfortable for us. Then we were presented with the menu. This was substantially shorter than the menu posted on line and also on display in the entry way to the building. Most of the interesting items had been removed leaving only standard pub grub type offerings. We had chosen this venue because it had an interesting menu. We queried why the menu was different and were told that it was due to "staffing shortages in the kitchen". Given that the menu only contained standard, and in our opinion quite simple, items we would have expected them to be excellent. Our prawn starter was meant to be in tempura batter but it was a much thicker batter than that. Not unpleasant by any means but not what we expected. In the mains one of our party had to send back his fish and chips. The batter was overcooked and quite dark brown, but the fish inside was considered undercooked. When this was remade it was better and at least edible but by no means good. The other choices were okay but not exactly great. The Mac and cheese was quite dry and could have used more cheese sauce. At least the staff took off part of the cost of the bill and offered us a free tea or coffee to make up for our disappointment.

I didn’t visit the restaurant, but ordered a takeaway; ann absolutely amazing chicken, green pepper and black bean sauce with boiled rice. The Chicken was plentiful and the nicest I’ve ever tasted from a Chinese restaurant. Veggies were crisp and crunchy and exactly the way they should have been as was the black bean sauce. Thank you, Golden City - I didn’t know what to expect with it being my first take-away from you, but I more than impressed and was certainly not disappointed
