Zest Cafe Hamilton in South Lanarkshire

I have been coming here amidst the pandemic, and the service here is terrific. The food is genuinely tasty, but can be a bit hot sometimes (burnt my mouth a bit recently). Staff are very kind and patient and do put in a lot of hard work to make the place safe and virus free. Happy to call this a regular in the future.

Popped in today with the kids and happily surprised as they had replaced all the seating with lovely cream leather chairs and installed a breakfast bar at the window , my kids loved it watching the world go bye ..great food and service as always , well done guys 😂

When I came in for a some lunch I asked the ladies if it was OK to sit in the other side of the place as there was better, more suited, seating for us (the cafe side) , I was told this was OK. When the older lady that works the cafe side came to us she asked if we were "having any fry" were told to move to the other side of the cafe. When I explained I had asked the other ladies when we first came in if it was ok to sit here this lady said we will just need to wait and walked away in an obvious mood over this. Nearly 15 minutes passed, we waited as we were not in a hurry. We were then approached at our table and told there was seats over there and to move now. I said we were OK where we were as this seat suited us much better. Well..... This didn't go down well. I was told a lie that they don't serve food at all at this side and we can't order sitting here. To which I pointed another table having what we were going to order and having ate here previously as well. This lady was very rude again answering me back and again walking away from our table and this time mubbling something. We were both made feel unwelcome and did not want to sit in this atmosphere. Other customers hearing everything that had went on and we're as bemused as us. We stood up and put our jackets on, the cafe lady then came back at this point and stood in my way, blocking me from leaving. Being passive aggressive and acting flippant with what she was saying to both of us. We had enough, previously having difficulties with this same older lady when we visited. I recommended this cafe to friends and family based on the quality of food and coffee. Butwe will never be back. Truly shocking behavior over nothing!

Thought I would take my son here for lunch today for a treat. Have walked passed it loads of times and always thought it looked quite nice inside. Waited about 20 minutes all in for someone to come and take our order before finally giving up. To top it off, what was clearly a regular customer came in and got served immediately!! Disgraceful!! The lady who was serving could barely muster an apology as we left. Won’t be back again.

Rude staff and poor hygiene practices. Will not be back. Floor was unclean and our table was wiped with a dirty dishrag. High chair was broken and on top of that got our order wrong.

This was my favourite local cafe, visited once or twice a week for months and recommended to everyone. Had friends over from Ireland this weekend, with two very young kids, and went here for lunch. Our 2 year old was given a large glass with water and ice and she spilled the water, goes without saying it was an accident, and as I went to the toilet a member of staff dropped a wet cloth onto the table and said “you can clean that up” if we hadn’t already placed our food order we’d have left right there and then. Three members of staff just stared, and made rude comments amongst themselves. Which was a surprise as the staff are usually lovely, my previous visit My table was actually cleaned again, with apologies, as I sat down because there was water on the table. Funny how things are different when it’s younger women who are there for lunch and made to feel Intimidated and Unwelcomed in their cafe. I won’t be back, and neither will the other family I brought along as she has a not so brilliant picture of the staff in there, which is entirely their own fault.

So convenient and always really good value , clean and friendly staff make you feel very welcome and very fair priced cakes and snacks

We always visit the coffee and snack part of Zest and find the food lovely, service amazing and fast. Elaine is so friendly and efficient and is brilliant with my toddler son. Great customers service is often to do with the people that work somewhere and in this instance I believe it is due to Elaine.

Great coffee bar,staff friendly and lots of gluten free goodies. Soup and toastie were amazing.will defiantly be back.

First time in, fantastic wee cafe with a lovely snack menu. Very friendly service, good quality lattes and baguettes, great kids lunch deal and a pleasant hour over lunch. Love supporting local businesses like these.

food in this cafe very good value for money and staff can't do enough to help. selection varied and they also have a pensioners meal at a very good price

Fancy a good reasonably priced lunch or even just a coffee cant get any better than the limelight cafe/zest coffee bar,look no further than this place....great bunch of girls working hard ensuring that the customer is happy with all they have to offer and make you feel very welcome.

Zests exterior fools customers like myself into thinking it would be a fresh tranquil place to get a coffee and a bite to eat. Walked in to a different story however, counters and displays were empty, it was dark and dingy and looked as if it was closing down. We sat and before we could read the menus a ill manners lady approached us and asked to take out orders, half the things that was ordered they had run out of so ender up with a burger and chips. GREASE LIGHTING, the burger was so greasy I could have used it as a hocky puck on a carped and it still would have went fleeing, the chips we the solid ones you could have got at any of you local premier stores and no salad! Fair to the this place did give me chills and there multiplying 😉

I visited the lime light cafe today and I was totally disgusted. I found a black hair on the plate under my chips. I had already started eating and felt immediately sick. I took the plate back up to the counter and gave it to the staff. The staff took the plate off me with no acknowledgement never mind an apology. After paying my bill which I totally grudged I asked to speak to the manager and the girl told me it was the manager I had handed my plate to! I am totally shocked at the way this manager dealt with my order. I can't believe she actually just took the plate off me and said absolutely nothing!!! When I got home I googled the cafe to find it's last hygene score was "improvement required" wish I had checked this first.

The place has been done up and made into 2 separate eating areas. we went to the Coffee Bar and the food for lunch was lovely and very good value. The surroundings are nice and the staff are pleasant. Good place for a relaxing lunch .....
