Jilts Pub and Restaurant in South Lanarkshire

An old haunt of mine haven't been for ages went for lunch with my old mate Kevin had the burger and chips lovely no frills but good value and great service 👍

Could do with better decor it feels very old & dark inside but for what it is it is decent, not that expensive & the food was very good. If you're wanting a pub lunch with no frills & decent food, then definitely give this place a try. We will be back.

Nice pub but fancied the macaroni cheese but they had ran out so had the scampi which was freshly cooked

Work night out!! We had booked the pub out for a quiz night. The atmosphere was great, the staff friendly and helpful. Food was basic, but nice. Does need some refurbishment, apart from that a great wee pub and great night had

We have lived in the Hamilton area for nearly 11 years and have walked past Jilts Bar every time we go into the town centre. From the outside it looks like a very small place so never ventured in until a few weeks ago. My god the place is massive, with lots of tables for sitting to have a meal or a drink. The menu has lots of options to suit everyone's taste, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely make this one of our favourite places to eat.

Yes we both very welcome service was up to it's usual standard. My wife had stake pie and I had cheese pasta. I normally have the stake pie but thought I'd change and it was braw. Next time I might just go through the next one in the menu. Thanks for your help and service. Yes this time I had the curry and it was gr8 as well. This time we both had the Stake pie again back to my normal meal and was still superb.

Enjoyed lunch here. The combo for 2 was tasty and the kids portion of mac and cheese spot on. The staff were helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced

Poor didn't see normal chicken as people can't take spicey chicken and nit very helpful with disabled people treat them like as thought there trash and the toilets were disgusting

Yesterday I ordered steak pie, I arrived cold and the pie paste was totally covered in gravy it looked like a dogs breakfast two tables that came in after us was served long before us. When I brought the problem to the attention of a member of staff they decided the solution would be to give us another piece off puff pastry this was a poor solution also my friends plate had no vegetables. What a bad experience. Yet lest week we had a great meal presented well.

Had a meal in Jilts and it was fantastic. We had steak pie and chicken and baked potato. All piping hot generous portion. Staff very helpful and friendly. Defo go back next time in Hamilton

The kids sausage meal was AMAZING using cocktail sausages which my grandson loved The steak pie was great could do with a bigger puff pastry tho but was delicious Hubby said fish was lovely xxx Manager was very polite and courteous Spotless place great meal would hilley recommend well done guys xxx

Well,the term, No Frills echoes from the rafters,it's just ok,prices are too expensive for what it is,quick bite if shopping ,that's all.

Firstly can I say that this place used to be very busy at weekends but hamilton has died a death and on my recent visit it was plain to understand why it was quiet . The service from start to finish was quick and prompt just as it should be so this gave them a bonus dot to its final score. Adults had a mixture of dishes as did the kids. Kids had fairly basic run of the mill food , burger and macaroni cheese, plenty for them as they were only small. Adults ate steak pie and a lasagne !. Now to be fair the steak pie looked quite good ,plenty on the plate , freshly cooked with a mixture of veg and potatoes. I had the lasagne , big disappointment !. Small dish with what seemed like a frozen very cheesy less meaty less than fulfilling lasagne at that with dry lettuce on the side. Now at this point I’m looking at the other plates thinking ...... I should have picked the ruddy steak pie ! Anyway I did eat it as I was starving and as they say beggars can’t be choosers ! I think to be fair here that the majority of the food was ok and I’m being pretty fair at this. This place isn’t high quality but more quick and easy and if your not fussy also it caters for the kids needs. I don’t think we will return though any time soon and would really be a last resort.

Always like Jilts when I visit Hamilton. I feel at ease when I go myself as the girls have got to know what I usually order and can rhyme it off before I ask. Food is always hot and meals are delicious. Would recommend a visit.

We had lunch yesterday 2 adults 1 child fast friendly service. I had the 3 course lunch menu for £13 we all had the lentil soup to start (nice) I had the braised steak and mash with gravy which was lovely followed by the caramel apple Betty and ice cream nice. My friend had the 2 course lunch menu £10 she had steak pie (the sausages where pink) so she barely ate any of it. My son had the sticky toffee pudding (adult size) massive he ate about half I had the rest. I enjoyed and would recommend but my friend didn't and wouldn't.

Jilts is quite a traditional pub in appearance and the menu is also fairly traditional "pub grub". However, I was pleasantly surprised at the choice on the menu which was wider than the average pub fare. The food itself was very good, cheerfully served and piping hot. Prices are also reasonable and offer good value.

Lovely meal in Jilts, very accommodating and friendly staff who strive to ensure all needs are catered for. Very reasonably priced too and plenty choices on the menu!! Will definitely be back.

First time visit compliments to the chef of jilts. Bar staff very friendly. Comfortable seating to sit enjoy a starter main course and dessert. Breakfasts and breakfast rolls available here too. Very friendly atmosphere. Myself and partner enjoyed a relaxing drink, a starter of loaded potato skins with cheese and salad and I had delicious home made steak pie with chips and veg and partner had chilli cheese burger chips n salad. He said best burger in a long time.

Tables need proper cleaned because they all are always sticky

Jilts has a traditional menu at reasonable prices. We were served efficiently by polite staff. Food was great, very tasty. It was nice and cool inside out of the summer sun.
