Cafe maxx at tk maxx in South Ayrshire

Met my mother in-law here today, she had already ordered and got her soup, I went to order mine and she came to the till looking for a cup for her tea, I offered to bring it back and ask the women serving me for a cup I believe her name was Christine F became very rude and almost shouting at me for asking tried to explain it was for my mother in- law and I would take it back she continued to be rude. I paid for my order and went and sat down to wait for my single bowl of soup. 20mins later still no soup another girl came out to give the table next to me their order having not waited long said to the girl I had been waiting 20 mins she went to look then brought my soup out, they had conveniently lost my order. All in I was 30 min from joining the queue, getting served and finally getting my 1 bowl of soup as it took 10 mins originally for her to serve 3 people 3 coffees and a cake each. Soup was nice but service was shocking and no way for a customer to be treated.

Sandwiches very expensive poor quality a bare sandwich on a plate £6.50 for a toasted sandwich poor quality bread hardly any cheese inside poor quality ham bread wasn’t crunchy was disgusting Greggs' 100% better won’t be eating there again

in shopping decided to have a cuppa n cake here rather than walking up in to down.good decision.lot cheaper than others in ayr and cake was really nice.cafe was nice and staff kept it clean,always out clearing and cleaning tables.was reasonably quiet at time so served really quick.maybe bit far from town centre,if in shopping worth a try as it is really good and reasonably priced..

I have been to this cafe many times as it’s handy. Yesterday I went with my son at lunchtime, there were a lot of people waiting to be served but only one lady available and she looked quite stressed. I ordered a tuna melt sandwich which came with a side salad, when the food arrived I saw that the side salad was simply just chopped cheap lettuce with a drizzle of dressing ( see photo) there was no tomato or cucumber, not very appetising, maybe they are trying to keep costs down as it never used to be like this. They could do with some extra staff as well to serve and clear tables.

Firstly, a great idea to have a cafe in TK Maxx (having moved from Edinburgh) as I can now spend all day shopping! I was shocked by how great this cafe is. Food was brilliant and, best of all, there's a selection of gluten-free cakes for afters. Staff were lovely and friendly and the cafe, itself, was nice, modern and bright. Fantastic 👍.

Dirty tables, kids food sent out still cold. Our food was edible but very bad quality. Short staffed. Don’t think we will be back here any soon, was disappointed.

Food is amazing! Staff are amazing! All round amazing! For all yous wanks...the toilets are apart of TK MAXX not the cafe!!!! Get a grip

Often stop for coffee/tea and muffin or scone when shopping. High quality food at very reasonable price. Sometimes have soup at lunchtime- also good.

We popped in here for a light lunch, ordered a toasted sandwich and a coffee each. The cafe was relatively quiet but most of the empty tables hadn’t been cleared and there was food on the floor around these tables. The ones that were clear were sticky and dirty. We eventually found a table that had just been wiped down turned out to be wobbly. The food was ok but very uninspiring and instantly forgettable. Also the gents toilet was dirty and stunk to high heaven.....yuk yuk yuk

I used to be a fan of this coffee area inside tk maxx Ayr. On this visit half the cafe is chaired off to stop us sitting where we are comfortable. It is an hour and twenty before closing and it has 20+ customers. Staff seem annoyed. Will use again because it’s handy. Coffee ok.

Avoid at all cost Unplesant food staff and surroundings. Plenty of places to go to in Ayr but this is not one of them Greasy uncleared tables and not even prepared to mention the toilet facilities

One lasagna 5.95...come very oily, with 2 small pieces of garlic bread..i ask for extra bread - 1.88 £...What????

While shopping in TK Maxx we popped into their cafe for a coffee. The coffee was good, they also had a good selection of snacks and cakes. What lets it down a little are the tables and seating area - could be cleaner. Dirty dishes on many of the tables and food stains on the sofas etc.

Decided to go for lunch here. Had a "Hot sandwich" served with side salad, which is a toasted baguette. It was okay but side salad was a small ramikin dish with shredded leaves and half a cherry tomato. Went back up for drinks and cake.......noticed the chocolate muffins topped with VERY MOULDY strawberries. If I noticed these first time round, I'd have avoided eating here altogether. Totally off putting and decided to leave and go to the M&S Cafe for coffee & cake. The other cakes did not look fresh, looked as if they had sat a few days. Will not be back.

Well stopped for a coffee whilst in shopping , I go into tk Maxx for hours so I welcome this idea sit and get refreshed whilst still hving my eye on the bargains lol !! But not best outlook for lunch unless it's just a quick lunch whilst busy shopping u wouldn't take ur friends just fir khbch if u know what I mean ! Coffee nice and place clean

Es agradable tener un buscarme cuando compras, así que fuimos a la cafetería de las tiendas. El piso estaba bastante sucio, así como los sofás que estaban cubiertas de manchas de un surtido de comida. El personal era amable y la comida y bebida de calidad, sin embargo, la decoración de la cafetería café trae a la mente una estación de servicio de la autopista. Uno de los empleados era reorganizar las sillas mientras estábamos tratando de disfrutar de nuestro café, en vez de recoger cada silla ella era llevarlas al piso, lo cual creó una horrible cantidad de ruido y hace que sea imposible para mi frejnd y yo a hablar de otros. Rápidamente nos terminado nuestras bebidas y a la izquierda. No volveré

Love coming here for a bit of lunch, we've tried a few things from the menu and they always taste great and are really good value, and of course we get to shop in t k maxx which is always good.

Cafe Maxx hace un trabajo decente como una tienda de café. Aunque la selección disponible no es enorme, hay suficiente donde elegir para una rápida taza y pastel o un aperitivo ligero. El servicio es siempre amable y los precios son razonables con una recarga taza de 99 p, así que puedes regresar después de la caminata alrededor de la tienda habitual en sí. No, no es un lugar realmente se sale de su camino para ir, pero si estás en la tienda de todos modos, sin duda muy práctico y hay un montón de espacio del estacionamiento.

After a look around one of my favourite shops saw this little place tucked at the back of the shop.A lovely selection of cakes to choose from a varied menu for most tastes.We had the baked potato with tuna which we enjoyed.Friendly service and nice and clean.

Love coming here on a Saturday afternoon, it's become a wee tradition for me and the wife to potter around the store and have wee burger or a cake, nice surroundings and lovely food.

I went here one afternoon for tea and gluten free cake with my friend and was really impressed as they had a good choice of gluten free cakes and didn't charge more for them as they have a coffee and cake deal on and gluten free was included. You can also get another cup of tea or coffee if you keep your receipt for 99p so good if you wanted to walk round shop then go and sit for another cuppa. Friendly helpful staff and clean. Only negative the tea pots are awful and don't pour well at all and end up spelling it all over the table so take plenty of napkins. The hot food looks nice too.

Good quality tea and a delicious piece of cake for around £3.00 pounds. The lady who served us was really friendly and helpful as well - so all good !

It is a cafe, nothing special okay food not overly impressed but its okay! Not much choice and no choice for special diets!

Had the ultimate meat baguette, beef was tasteless and thin sliced packet meat, with one slice, baguette was terrible, pre frozen and broke up, lucky if we had 8 chips each. And we paid 5.99 each what a rip off.

Found this place by accident just walking by & just wanted a coffee. The staff are very friendly & helpful & we ended up staying for a quick bite to eat. Noticed they do a lot of different meal/drink promotions through out the week definitely worth a visit.

This cafe has excellent choice of food and pastries/cakes all fresh and priced really competitively, the staff are very quick and friendly with service. It is in ideal position and having visited a good number of TK Maxx shops, this is the first one I've visited with the cafe. Maybe the other shops should follow this one, it would certainly increase profits not only in cafe but store also.

Decided to have a quick breakfast while shopping but regretted it.Bacon, sliced sausage, potato scone and fried egg all overcooked and tough (yes, even the egg). Tomato was obviously under-ripe because it was bitter. Brown toast was OK and so was the toast but apart from these the rest was terrible. Coffee was also very strong and bitter. Price was on a par with Dobbies Garden Centres but the quality of food and cooking was not up to scratch.I won't be going back there for breakfast.

It is a Cafe at the back of TK Maxx shop. Quite basic but fine for a lunch or coffee and snack. After shopping it was good to sit there. Very helpful, friendly staff. A reasonable size so you are sure to get a table. Suitable for children too.

Food in cafe max is great when out shopping & just want a bite to eat with a cuppa. Great value for money & breakfast great, none of the usual preheat food in some places. Nice atmosphere & staff very friendly.

It's in TK Maxx we did some quick cheap clothing shopping here - so we all know it's a cheap location - and sadly the food is cheap tasting too. The soup tasted like "powdered chicken stock". The old adage, you get what you pay for here - sadly

visited this cafe for the second time yesterday 13th October 2014. Previously only for coffee and scones which were very good. This time had a light lunch of toasted Panini. Was delighted at the quality. Food was very tasty and fresh and a good cup of coffee. The service was quick and friendly and the restaurant clean and well maintained.
