Never had a full breakfast that's been so full off grease before never again will I order that again.

Food good very busy but had to ask twice for table to be cleaned .didn't do all the table

No dogs allowed, not even in outdoor seating, disappointed.

Town centre venue that is convenient for transport, shopping and the beach. Went for a Tuesday Steak Club lunch. Opted for a standard sized mixed grill with baked potato. Despite ordering at 11.50 am the meal took some time to arrive. The only meat that wasn't overdone, dried out and tasteless was the link sausage. Not good enough. Won't make that mistake again.

I ordered steak and kidney pie with mash,peas and gravy,when it arrived the gravy was stone cold as was the mash,I complained they obviously just took it away and zapped it in a microwave, I did start to eat it but was inedible so I called for manager who refused a refund as I had already eaten some of it,she was a horrible person to be called a manager. We also ordered dessert ,I said we would have them after the so called main course,30 minutes later still no desert so I got hold of the manager again she was called Roshene, she more or less said did you ask for your deserts of course I did. Avoid this place.

Cheap real ale and lager, cheap food

Fast service with a smile. Always stop by here on the way to Craig Tara and foods always great for the price.

A highly recommended pub by CAMRA for serving well kept ales. Never had food just drinks of cask real ale. Ale was served to optimum quality cask conditioning by the brewery and cellaring by the venue with clean beer serving lines. Deserving of it's Good Beer Guide status.

Cheapest wee breakfast about along with free refills on the coffee machine!? Unrivalled value

Absolutely shocking ! ( A Family meal consisting of four adults ! ) confined to a small round table stuck in the corner ( which we had to clear and clean ourselves from the previous customers Mess ! ) before even considering looking for menus ! ( never mind seating to accommodate the table we were confined too ! Then to add to the discomfort ! Only one of the four meals ordered at the bar , after 25 minutes of waiting was correct ! The next 30 minutes afterwards was spent on my behalf complaining , and as a result made me feel extremely uneasy and uncomfortable ! Horrible experience 😪 DEFINITELY would not recommend unless you want Drama in your life.

came in for a breakfast at 10:45 got told it would be 20 minutes as it was busy then waited over 45 minutes for a breakfast after 45 minutes i had went up to ask them about my order to get told it had been served to a other table so had to re put in my order and i ordered a scottish breakfast with things added and taken away to it when it came it was a normal scottish breakfast i never got what i had ordered in my roll either and my daughters breakfast came cold and not what she ordered very angry and won’t be back

A great experience. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Delish food and the staff are very willing to accommodate dietary needs.

Had the fish and chips and fish was a lot better than it used but chips aren't very good.

This place has a really nice feeling to it. It's very peaceful, almost as if it's place as a church is still there.

Incredible venue and prices are perfect

Great wee stop off on the way to the park with the kids. Staff were efficient and friendly. Meal was as expected, from a whether spoons, hot, tasty and not expensive.

It's always cheap n cheerful but you get exactly what you expect. Can't complain.

Tried a little breakfast somewhere new. One Eggs Benedict and one Mushroom Benedict. Both outstanding. In fact, their whole breakfast menu is pretty amazing.

Came tonight for dinner really wished we had went somewhere else disappointed to say the least ordered a large mixed grill partner said it was ok 2 sirloin steaks sons came chips freezing cold spoke to staff said they would sort both sirloin s where not good son left half it said it was to chewy youngest got the triple cheeseburger meal burger cold had to be returned no problem said staff meal came back out with mustard onion and pickle which he didn't want and burger was warm bacon stone cold overall very disappointing especially when your down for a break will know in future to go somewhere else

Quite lovely, the old church makes for a great atmosphere, extremely unique. The food was very fairly priced, it was nothing to write home about but still a very good value. The staff were incredibly friendly. Would reccomend.

In spoons ayr today with my husband and my 2 therapets (guinea pigs in their carriers) after getting their nails cut, husband in there for over an hour as I went to aldi first then I met him, we then had breakfast with hot drinks, breakfast not as hot as it could have been. However as we were finishing our hot drinks a lady who works there (didn't get her name) came and said NO PETS!! stating there is a sign at the front door, yes there is one but it says no dogs nothing about guinea pigs. We had been in before with my 2 therapets and nothing was said before today. Don't think I will be back, her stinking attitude, she had passed us a couple of times filling the coffee machines and said nothing.

The staff are fantastic and the building is a reminder of the great work Tim Martin has done in restoring old disused buildings. 5 stars for the pub and staff, but the customers are some of the thickest you will ever see. They queue in single file for drinks. It is not a post office, it is a pub. Please people - Do not queue in single file in a pub!! I also see single file queues for the disabled toilet by lazy able bodied people. Embarrassing. The floorboards need fixed. They thump and creak when walked on. That's not the staff's fault. They are great. I love a good Wetherspoons. This is one of the best. Just try and ignore the really thick customers. The staff are great.

Service can be a bit slow at times, however, don't let that put you off, as this is a decent pub. I now use their App to order my food and drink, it is so much easier

Popped in 830 in the am few people in manager was serving great fast service even had time to ask us how everything was definitely going again food was fast and all 👍

I went in for a breakfast on a Sunday morning. Place was very quiet..I ordered full Scottish breakfast with extra hash browns. Food came extremely quickly which I was surprised it. Plate was not very warm, food was no better than luke warm. Toast was extremely pale and soggy, parts of bread not even toasted. I really should have complained but didn't as had to rush to get a bus. My table was grubby and this 1 was the cleanest of the 2 or 3 i checked. To be honest the best part of the breakfast was the hash browns which I paid extra for.These were the warmest food item on plate. Food is cheap and not best quality but you no that before you go in.However food at very least should be warm. If you are reading this Wetherspoons Aye management please check that food is going out hot.

huge pub with very good range of both beers and grub

Was having a nice evening until this very rude staff member told me very cheekily to turn the volume down on my fone or put earphones on. It wasn't loud he was just being a dickhead.

Friendly staff with lovely food

this place is reasonably busy but you can generally get a seat. as far as wetherspoons go it's one of the better ones. only criticism would be that sometimes dirty plates are left too long before being collected.

Came here for breakfast, The service is very good, quick n polite staff, went for Small American Breakfast, the bacon on this was miniscule and not very crispy. Rest of dish was ok, some things felt cold. It's a lovely building, staff were nice and price great.

Popped in as I had an hour to burn. Ordered a breakfast and the unlimited refill coffee. Brushed away the salt and grains left on the table from the previous users. Table was pretty dirty and should have been cleaned. Breakfast arrived. It did look good but everything was cold. I didn’t try and send it back as I don’t trust anyone with my food after I complain. The coffee was good. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Bangers and mash. Absolutely terrible. Poor customer service, from the large chap. No refund offered. Won’t be back. Certainly wouldn’t recommend. 13/11/2024. Table 5. Lunch time. The large chap that I complained to, should be sacked. It’s really put me off going to any WETHERSPOONS.

Place is a bit of a dump, badly needing a facelift. Tables constantly full of dinner plates, take your own cloth to wipe tables. Staff do their best but there is just not enough of them. Ten minutes wait at Bar to get served is not uncommon. Been going there since it opened but has went downhill considerably in recent times. By far the worse Spoons I have ever been in.

First visit to Spins West Kirk for cappuccinos great price £1.04p each brilliant. Great atmosphere beeing within an old church great character. Staff welcoming and friendly 😊.

Great setting and cheap prices were the only good things about the place. No atmosphere whatsoever to the point it was creepy, place was full but almost complete silence during lunchtime. Had to buy full meals for everyone if we wanted to stay (4 people: 3 meals and a portion of chips wasn't enough and had to buy 4 meals instead??) Food was cold, and portions were tiny. Staff were clearly fed up. Only stayed because we were hungry and the car was at the garage round the corner. (Going to the loo there would probably have been quicker than traipsing up all the stairs too)

Cold as usual. Witherspoon buy massive buildings but never heat them. Every witherspoon I've been in is always freezing

Nice to have the vegan options. The place is in an old church building and it was freezing cold we had to keep our coats on and the place looks a bit dated.

The West Kirk Restaurant is a delightful gem! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a cozy meal. Great value and great selection

Just been in, had asked to get table cleared twice, because guy behind the bar with the beard, just either ignored or forgot, also he picks and chooses who he tells to go to the back off the quue, got a glass of wine, turns out the glass is stinking, this is one Weatherspoons we won't be back in, very disapointing.

Guy come with an attitude no help what so ever. Licence laws states food not a main meal like they are trying to rob you in broad daylight. Spoke to the manager aswell and she was a bit helpful but not much it's like they don't understand the Licence law. I'd advise making the staff more aware & not with an attitude.

Best 'Spoons we've ever visited. Outstanding old church venue. Staff were exceptional and the beers were varied and delicious. We came to Ayr for a week for the Gold Cup meeting at the racecourse and visited here every day, it was so delightful. Food is first class. The Scottish breakfast a real treat. Well done everyone.

Really friendly staff and customers. No fights at the bar unlike most spoons because the customers 'cue' and the bar staff WATCH the bar. Super clean unlike the Paddlesteamer Largs !

Perfect grub before attending the Ayr festival

Was in lunchtime today will not be back, food was ok atmosphere you could cut with a knife, was in earshot of a family being thrown out because the adults were not having food I believe they ordered for their children, the manager had no customer service skills and his attitude towards them diabolical, I actually wanted to say something and get involved and regrettably didn’t, to that family I am deeply sorry it’s been on my mind the whole day, they were asking the manager his name and said they would complain if you read this I sincerely hope you do, they weren’t at all busy and should have welcomed any money you were willing to give them to feed your young, second time I’ve been and definitely the last

Waited for 10 mins to be served ,1 person behind bar working don't know what the other 3 were doing as no eye contact acknowledgement etc ,gave up went down to Willie wastles got served straight away.im afraid ayr witherspoon I won't be back.

Nice cozy spot in the center of Prestwick, the particularity of this one, is that is inside of an old church. Quite fascinating architecture. Just awesome 👍🏻

Been quite drafty from the air conditioning the last few weeks,which detracts from the experience

It was a toilet stop...The inside felt weird as it was once a church..Plates left of half eaten food on tables suggests the items serves weren't worth finishing..

Food wasn't great... it's cheap enough... but quality was poor...our table was very sticky...had to clear it ourselves...other tables just left uncleared the whole time we were there...not good for business!!!!

Great place to eat, drink, and meet friends. Can be very busy at times, but if you have the Wetherspoons app, it's a good queue jumper, and you get served quicker. Great selection of food and drinks are all set in a good atmosphere and comfy setting in an old church. Located centrally and close to the bus station, and a 10 min walk from Ayr Station. A good place if you are on a budget for food or drink. A good place for groups to meet staff is very friendly. Great for breakfast, too!

Was in on Wednesday night food was not very good, theyhad no fish left I ordered 1 pint of Tennants with my meal when i got to the table and started drinking it the lager was not Tennants they must have poured from the wrong tap. I went back with it to complain they were not very happy i told them to taste it they refused. They started to pour me a pint of Tennants but they got as far as an inch and the barrel went off. They changed the barrell and carried on pouring the pint into the glass that was started. I got back to the table no life in the lager at all and it was flat just left it and walked out

Very busy place, which was advised to us on Google maps before arrival so we knew what to expect. Beautiful inside, an old church (which some may see as blasphemous but really it just makes for a lovely atmosphere. We sat down at our table, and got onto the app to order. Unfortunately, the app had crashed and was unusable. A quick dash up to the bar, the bartender explained that it was kaput. He quickly took our order, with drinks, recommended stuff for a better price and was just generally lovely. The food arrived promptly, very warm, crunchy in all the right aspects, soft in all the right aspects. We sat and talked for a good half an hour after we had finished, taking in the atmosphere and beautiful scenery here. 10/10 Wetherspoons, would definitely come back another time. Thank you West Kirk.

A very nice place, just very dirty. There is no clearing, tables are left dirty. That's a shame for such a case.

Lovely well maintained building in Ayr town centre. Visited for some Sunday lunch. The place was very quiet. Used the wetherspoons app, which was painfully slow, unsure if this has something to do with recent updates. One of the ales ordered was not available, replacement swiftly offered. Regular value for money.

The staff told me I could not have a glass of wine with my dinner because I come in a group but I whit my daughter and friends had their kids with them to so they staff tell you what you can have to drink the staff was very aggressive and not very helpful the dinner was really bad it was not worth the money

Worst witherspoon I have been in staff took my order 10 minutes then to ld us food would be 25 minutes this was at 815 then the waitres said we would have to leave at 9 with our grandson

Old church, nice location, cheap

Was very busy, therefore restaurant not at it's best looking. Staff working hard. Set in an old kirk, so has stained glass windows. You can sit on the altar, to have your meal. Novel idea.

Been here many times and never had a problem, today was different. 15mins after we place the order we had to change a meal because they ran out. 5mins after that they want to argue over 1 pound, when we had been waiting 25mins at that point, then came back with more ammo and tried to keep arguing. Got a refund and left, didn't even finish our drinks, 35mins later still hungry. It is not the customers job to fix staff mistakes. Service terrible, blaming customers for their failure. Worst experience I've ever had in a Spoons.

Very good Spoons, lovely building inside and out. Longer than usual wait for our food (40mins) but staff very and genuinely apologetic for the delay. And didn't catch her name but one of the staff - young girl, dark hair - was sooooo busy and hard-working she was running around like she was training for the Olympics. Great credit to the company.
