Nel & Co in South Lanarkshire

Thoroughly enjoyed a Baby Shower High Tea in Nel and Co with family and friends. We were warmly welcomed and assistance was kindly offered to help decorate the area for the special occasion. The sandwiches were plentiful, unlike many other High Teas, with a variety of tasty fillings. This was followed by a vast array of cakes and scones! In fact all members of the party, 10 adults in total left with goodie bags to take home! A special cake stand was prepared for a toddler which made her feel very special! This was greatly appreciated! Furthermore, throughout the afternoon the staff were very attentive and could not have been more helpful! In fact they went ‘above and beyond!’ Almost every member of the group stated that they would definitely make a return visit! Many thanks to everyone concerned for making our event extra special!!

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast. Welcomed and show to a table in the restaurant at the rear of the building. Drinks orders taken and brought quickly, then food order taken. Food arrived quite quickly, my breakfast burrito was amazing and my daughter loved her eggs brioche. She followed this up with cinnamon bun from a great selection of cakes and pastries. Staff were pleasant, but very quiet, did not engage much. Background music was a bit loud, but overall and great breakfast in pleasant surroundings. Will visi again. One confusing thing, went online in the morning (0900) to book a table at 11.00 and they wanted card details and indicated a charge of £10.00/person for a no show. Decided to phone instead booking and phone number taken no mention of card details required, strange.

The coffee in the place is outstanding. Really nice atmosphere. Upon entrance there’s a caffe area and as you walk further in the other part of the building is a restaurant. The service was good and the atmosphere inside was warm and lovely.

Never been before & the reviews i read were mixed, i have to say i had a lovely meal, i went for the chicken buger & the portion was a lot more than i expected, the chicken was really moist & delicious, the service was great & couldnt have been more helpful. Definately would return.

Food is good , interior is lovely, but smell from the toilets, long waits, freezing due to the air con blasting out to the point people are putting costs on when eating (staff can see this and choose to ignore it in my opinion I had to ask to have it turned off ) so we won’t be back, such a shame as such a lovely place , but small things are running it and stopping people from returning. We have been twice, first was great, second awful, and won’t be back.

Great menu, good food but the staff clearly don't want to be there. I've honestly never experienced such surly staff in all my life. They badly need trained. It was very busy when we arrived so I initially put that down to the slow service, however when our hot drinks arrived and I had to ask for a teaspoon and sugar you would have thought I'd asked the girl to sacrifice her first born for me! I felt so uncomfortable and felt I had to apologise when asking for anything! The restaurant was very cold with cold air blasting out the ceiling AC units but I didn't dare ask for it to be adjusted....I put my coat back on and could see another lady had doing the same 2nd lot of coffees (that I had to go down to the counter to order) had spilled all over the tray & the bill...no apology, no offer of a napkin...just all dumped on the table. The staff only come through to the restaurant if serving someone but don't take the time to check if anyone needs anything (hence me going down to the counter to order coffees once we had finished our food. Coming away and thinking about it, it's as if they are either forced to be there or purposely trying to sabotage the business. Please train your staff or hire people who actually want to make an effort. Really disappointed as I've been wanting to go for such a long time.

Lovely lunch, staff were cheery, helpful and pleasant. My husband had the tuna sandwich, I had salmon and cream cheese, our friend had a salad. We were all pleased and fully satisfied with what we bought. Fresh produce and tasty. Coffee was lovely, i had 2! Our friend had tea, and my husband had a milkshake, which he totally loved. Even though the place was busy, we did not feel rushed in any way. I would recommend trying this little gem. A pleasant lunch and a chance to buy some treats on your way home ! 🥰
