This cozy chilled cafe is a great spot to enjoy a bite to eat, coffee and treat. I had the three cheese toastie with chorizo which was perfect and my son enjoyed the kids macaroni cheese. We shared a raspberry and white chocolate cookie after. Nicest coffee I’ve had in a while. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We will be back!!

Dreadful cafe. Tables were picnic style benches. Music blaring out. Food choices were limited, burgers, mac and cheese. Staff surly. Really disappointing. We had hoped for a lovely warm cafe with tasty home cooked food.

We popped in here before starting our adventure through the secret forest. The menu wasn't the best, especially if your a fussy eater or vegan, etc and the prices were ridiculous, £1.90 for cans of juice, £4 for each toastie. We ordered 3 toasties, 1 chips and 3 cans of juice which came to just under £20, the food wasn't the best, it tastied like cheap bread and the chips weren't cooked long enough, so we definitely wouldn't return especially at the prices being charged. You actually don't see the menu until you get inside so you don't know the prices! We wouldn't recommend.

This cafe has a neat croft /barn like atmosphere . It was bigger inside than it looked. There was a selection of homemade cookies and desserts. I had a cookie and tea. The prices were reasonable. It's a good spot to duck in for a cuppa or out of the sun/rain, or like me to wait for the Castle tour group to begin. If you have a family you'd be wise to bring a picnic . It's all on one level so good for mobility issues.

We got a quick sandwich here and coffee, it was okay a bit pricey for what it was. The icecream shop had loads of choices and even found a suitable icecream for my dairy free daughter which she loved!!

We had some lovely home made soup and sandwiches, very fresh, and the kids had good platefuls of the usual things they enjoy-not much left at the end!

Visited the wonderful Kelburn Country Park today. The park is amazing and what a great time we had with the park events and the Kelburn staff were wonderful. Shame a member of the cafe staff can't take a note from it. Went into the cafe and purchased 4 rolls and drinks, took them outside to sit, only to be approached by a staff member telling us the tables belonged to the cafe and weren't for picnics. My kids were sitting with crisps and snacks we'd brought but we'd also spent almost twenty pounds in the cafe. I said that I'd bought items from the cafe but the reply was that didn't matter because we had a picnic bag with us and that sends a message to others that the tables can be used for picnics. The staff member proceeded to place a sign on the table intimating only purchases from the cafe could be eaten there, fair enough. She then went on to say that we were fine to finish our food on this occasion, I would think so!!! I bought it from your establishment.Tea and afternoon cake were swiftly cancelled as there was no way I was going to spend any more of my money in the cafe due to one member of staff and the way we were approached. This review is not a reflection of other members of staff or Kelburn park but for anyone planning on going soon....stick to a picnic!

On visiting Kelburn we stopped in for a quick bite. Staff were lovely and were absolutely happy to divide one childrens portion between 2 small children. Portions are of good size and cooked to standards. Lovely atmosphere to dine in.

Plain simple home cooked country food, well priced and yummy. Well positioned at the heart of the visitor centre, friendly, helpful staff, closed quite early, but understandably due to the rainy weather.

The café is kind of rustic but what really put me off and that was a table full of half finished meals and no excuse as one of the staff was outside smoking! The latte was okay and and the carrot cake was pre-packaged and lovely. Not the most relaxing break but served a purpose, think is possibly more for families.

Menu is not overly exciting and a tad expensive. However, staff were excellent and food was freshly prepared. Unfortunately, during our visit the ice cream freezer was broken so only lollies were available.

Set in basic surroundings this pleasant café offers quite a range a homemade food to eat in or take away. I chose soup and a cheese and onion toastie from an extensive menu. The food was delicious.

Fabulous food made to order and worth every penny. This quaint little cafe has a lovely menu with a decent choice of dishes. Looking initially at the menu it may seem a little on the pricey side but as mentioned every dish is made to order so well worth every penny :)

I have been a number of times and would prefer to take my own food rather than eat there. I got half a pot of tea for full price. Food has nothing spectacular and very uninteresting . Certainly worth bypassing . Totally tasteless and overpriced

This popular restuarant/wedding venue has suddenly closed down without notice leaving many young couples and others searching for new venues at very short notice.

3 of us ate or tried to eat breakfast. My son had pancakes and fruit- they forgot the syrup. His fiancee had an egg thing i forget its name and was assured "yes theyll give you a cooked yolk" it was runny as hell! I had eggs benedict with extra bacon and added black pudding. The muffins were so tough i found it hard to cut them, the undressed rocket leaves were a stupid addition that got in the way really badly too. The black pudding was hard on one side and the bacon was black at one edge and way way over cooked. The hollandase was tasteless too. Ive made this dish for myself and its light years from this really poor effort. It might be a cheaper place to eat but its not good at all and therefor its not good value. Im a chef and i hate complainers and always hold my tongue and didnt complain inside the place, they dint have chefs in their kitchens its button pushers, "line chefs" whatever that invented title is??? My advice is (and to myself now aswell) if you want cheap food, stay indoors and cook some. Dining iut is price related, pay more you should get quality, pay less like i did and expect the shxxe i got simples

Lunch with my son! Discovered by chance ‘Freckletons Cafe’ and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and focus on the detail of the food served. Would highly recommend and will return.
