This place has a great kitchen which also serves "The Gathering". The food was excellent and was promptly prepared and served. No waiting for desiccation under a warming lamp. The same can be said for the breakfast. Great variety and nice quantity so you weren't left wondering about value as you might in some restaurants serving "pretty food" and a "pretty price".

The woman serving needs a lesson in customer service. Her attitude is a disgrace, unfriendly, smarmy and down right rude…. Which is a theme in Uig. After a limited but unpleasant exchange I cancelled my order and wished her good luck. Who knew the simple act of ordering food in a tea room would be such an inconvenience. Happy to take the money I’m sure! Not this time. Its the eye rolling and huffing and lack of welcome and smile that is the main gripe I have.

I didn’t eat, because I arrived after hours, but dropped in to see what the place was like. It was a quirky but quaint little place, with some wonderful old photographs on the walls. The owner was thoroughly engaging and was happy to give up her time to chat. I wish I had time to stay for longer. Next time though, for sure…

Safe very nice an friendly however lots of young ones working the bar and restaurant there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge as no one seemed to no what they were doing. Bar staff stood around waited ages to order a drink. Food slow service staff need training on bar show a smile as there was only one young guy that smiled an he was very polite the rest seemed like they really didn't want to be there

the food was nothing to be honest, the burgers were very dry and not tasty for this price, as if they were kept and served not fresh, next time I’d prefer to take my food with me,No recommended at all

Good menu, good prices, lovely staff. What more do you need. Well worth a visit and worth booking just in case. Family owned and they also own local farm butcher

We booked the Frigate online well in advance of our visit to Ullapool. When I got an email cancellation at the last minute I was suspicious that their booking system had been hacked (!) but after managing to get in touch with them via Facebook Messenger (they didn't answer the phone) it turned out that they had closed because of a lack of staff. We were able to confirm that they were indeed closed when we got to Ullapool ourselves.

We called in when visiting Smoo Caves to a burger van in the carpark of this cafe. Served by a very friendly lady and had amazing burgers, hot dogs, bacon rolls and drinks. Refreshing to be somewhere where you are welcomed. We sat out on the picnic tables. Highly recommend.

A lovely restaurant with nice food and lovely helpful staff. A spacious restaurant with great views. On offer was fish and chips, macaroni cheese, steak and mushroom pie, beef and haggis olives.

Note - now known as Ambrosia Cafe but the receipt still says "Annyas". Stopped by for a quick lunch whilst busy in Inverness. Had the all day breakfast at £7.99 but held the toast and ordered extra bacon and extra egg - for just another 75p. Bargain! Clearly freshly cooked - nice moist tasty sausage, quality bacon and superbly cooked eggs (not overdone nor uncooked). Tasty black pud. Can't fault it. Just the thing to fill a hole - and I always love a good full English (or Scottish!) breakfast.

Been going to CJ’s for approx 10 years, but enough is enough. This use to be one of the best chippies in Elgin by far, but whether its under different management or it’s just a lack of effort, it’s totally gone downhill. Our last 2 fish suppers were dry and fish was very thin. You use to get quick a plump flaky haddock, but clearly not anymore. The batter was overcooked, it use to have a nice crunchy, moist texture, but this was more like a deep fried brandy basket. And as for the chips. Boke. Nothing fresh about them. Not be going back. Id rather spend another £5-10 for something more upmarket, knowing that I wont have that feeling of just being robbed. Sorry CJ’s but this is on you. And not as much as a smile or a thankyou when you leave.

Good food. Just be prepared to wait a while. Ample portions. Pleasant service. It can get very busy so recommend you book as we did. Overall experience was enjoyable.
