Safe very nice an friendly however lots of young ones working the bar and restaurant there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge as no one seemed to no what they were doing. Bar staff stood around waited ages to order a drink. Food slow service staff need training on bar show a smile as there was only one young guy that smiled an he was very polite the rest seemed like they really didn't want to be there

I chose the haddock and chips. The batter was very thick and stodgy and chips were poor. Reminded me of - bought in already battered, frozen product cooked in oil which was not hot enough. Not a pleasant experience. Most fish and chip shops would do better.

Nice and clean, given about 10 minutes to look over menu. Good choice of meals, burgers, sandwiches and all reasonable price. Food arrived and was perfect. Will definitely be back here for food again.

Det skotske kjøkken på sitt beste, vil jeg påstå! Cullen Skink with a twist - prisvinnende - er verdt et besøk i seg selv. Hyggelig pub og servering også i bakgården, hele dagen lang. Vi kommer tilbake!

Food was ok'ish, and just about ok service. Nothing great to write about. Options in that area are limited anyways.

We had limited choices for restaurants nearby, but we are happy we chose this one. We had delicious seafood and enjoyed the dining room, too.

We arrived without a reservation after trying four other restaurants in two towns (at 5:30 on Tues evening!) and they seated us right away. Servers were teenage girls not very knowledgeable about the food or drinks, but chicken and beef & tatties soups were hearty and tasty. As were the steak pie and fish & chips. Big portions. Satisfying meal

I booked this restaurant for a family meal for 13 people. Having given our choices in advance (as requested) we duly arrived on time and were served with our starters almost immediately. However no drinks were forthcoming and so i had to go to the bar to get a waiter to come and take our order! Main course also arrived quickly but once again I had to approach the bar staff to get us another round of drinks!! I like to give honest opinions so I can say that the food service and quality was fantastic but the drinks service was abysmal!

We have been here a few times but the last visit was disappointing and I like to give an open and honest review and i believe other people would too but this time we had the chicken and the next day we all had campylobacter food poisoning in English was ill for 2 weeks and Scottish health was involved but we knew it was just a one-off for us and we didn't take any action over it but it is still a nice enjoyable place to go, so what we experienced was just a one-off for us.

There were 10 in our party including 2 children and we had called around to see if any restaurant could take us for dinner, this was the only one that could. We arrived and the man serving behind the bar was very pleasant and professional, he took us into the restaurant and there was no one else in there. We all ordered starters which came out promptly along with the kids meals. There were no problems and the food was fine, nothing to write home about. The mains came and were generous in their portion sizes and varied in their origin. Surf & Turf (or reef and beef as they put it), chicken parmagianno, steaks, beaters suppers and burgers. Everything was fine except the black pudding on the Blaggis burgers. It smelled awful and was clearly off. I ate my side orders and when they came to clear the plates, I told the waiter the black pudding smelled awful and was clearly off but he just looked at me, acknowledged what I’d said by nodding and then took the plates into the kitchen. Nothing more was said about it, no apology, no recompense, nothing. We did not stay for dessert and I dread to think how many more plates they put that black pudding on that night. It was so easy to smell it was off the chef would have known when cooking it, yet they still chose to put it on the plate. Poor decisions for your customer’s welfare!

Came here for lunch after visiting the Speyside cooperage. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, engaging with our girls. Offered our eldest some colouring things and some toys for our youngest. Food was good, they have proper home made burgers. Chilli was tasty, as was the macaroni and cheese. Good sized kids meals. Will definitely be back next time we are in aberlour.

We loved this place, on the banks of the Spey, full of warmth and atmosphere. The food was amazing, and the staff made us very welcome.There was a huge variety of whiskies to choose from the enormous file of recommendations. The room was furnished on a Scottish theme, comfy bed and beautifully clean. Aberlour is a great location from which to explore several distilleries nearby.

Stumbled upon this small restaurant/pub in Aberlour... Everything from reef and beef (surf and turf) to burgers to cannelloni... They have the world covered. 5 tapped beers, wine and a multitude of Scotch, of course. Fast, friendly service and great prices!

Vi var 9 der spiste, i deres ualmindelig kedelige og ucharmerende restaurant. Vi fik stort set serveret hele kortet og fik prøvet lidt af hvert. Al kød var stegt til perfektion, og som det skulle - men al garni og sauce var DØDSSYGT og enten ikke varmt eller koldt. Men klart det bedste kød vi har fået indtil videre (udover Dowans Hotel)

Our group of 14 stopped by for dinner and we had a great time. I had the deer burger and everyone wanted a taste when it was brought out. My group also loved the cheesecake i ordered...next time i will be less inclined to share! If you are in a large group i highly recommend contacting them and see if you can pre-order you meal to make things easier! they also have a HUGE selection of Single Malts.

We have just come back from this restaurant and we have had a fabulous meal. I had salmon and the Ghillies supper and was really good and exceptional value. We had 5 adults and a child and adults had 2 courses and a bottle of wine and with other drinks still spent less than £100. The staff were really friendly, especially to my little one who was feeling a little tired. I would recommend and would visit again.

Lovely lunch, relaxed feel and staff knew their whisky range. Food was tasty and didn't have to wait long

Called in for lunch in the bar area. Fairly extensive menu, plenty of choice. Parents went for chilli and small all day breakfast. The breakfast was plenty for my Mum and she said it was all very nicely cooked - especially pleased to see fried bread. Request for an extra egg instead of beans was met without an fuss. Hubby had scampi, which he enjoyed. I had fish and chips. Found the fish a bit strange, as it had a bit of a smoked flavour - not unpleasant, just not what I had expected. Chips were lovely. Staff very pleasant and service was quick enough for fresh cooked food. We couldn't manage sweet - would consider going back for starter and sweet meal.

Had cullen skink for starters. Found it a bit thin on the stock but extremely fresh & tasty. Followed by scampi & chips with tartare sauce served in a clam shell (nice wee touch) best thing though was the homemade chips which you dont get very often. Stayed in the hotel also & staff very friendly & room clean & comfy. Need to get on top of the room temps though as heating came on at 8pm whilst it was 11oC outside but understand with the crazy summer temps weve had. Overall very good value for money.

We arrived to out airbnb & in the list of good places in Aberlour was this restaurant... we headed there hungry & left very satisfied. the burger I ordered was amazingly good, the beef was very tender & fresh on a huge bun. also the fries hand cut.

Durante un tour in Scozia abbiamo pranzato in questo hotel. L'ambiente non ha nulla di caratteristico, ma abbiamo mangiato discretamente, piatti semplici, ma abbastanza curati.

Local restaurant apparently frequented by local patrons as well as tourists. The food was goods and he service fine.

stopped here for lunch after a whiskey tasting. My wife and I ordered the pie mash and it was very good we felt. Decent atmosphere and would dine here again when in the area.

Last night 11/01/2018 myself and my husband, chose to eat here while my son had football training. Worse move I have ever made !!!!!

The menu is uninspiring, and the quality is poor. This place is never busy compared to the other local pubs/hotels, which tells you a lot With a little more effort , it could be taken to a better level and I wish they would try

Comimos aquí durante su estancia en el área. Es una habitación bastante sosos, pero la comida es muy buena y ofrece una buena relación calidad-precio. Elección pobre de maltas para un viaje de negocios en el corazón de país con más whisky en su lista no disponible.

El menú se adapte a todos los gustos y necesidades - Vegetariano, platos vegetarianos y sin gluten gratis disponible. Había platos de pollo picante (Malasia) y típica de un pub de estilo tales como carne y pescado tarta de ale tradicional y patatas fritas. También hay aperitivos inusuales como el cerdo delicioso humo con morcilla stornaway y remolachas de vestidor, que era excepcionalmente bueno. Hay ofertas especiales en viernes "noche" con 2 filetes de carne y una botella de vino por £36 (carne de venado) incluye una versión. Elegimos comer a la carta. Las patatas fritas servido probado como si hubieran sido mantenido caliente y no estaban recién hechas. Aparte de eso, la comida era buena y el servicio era excelente - cada mesa fue tomada, pero el servicio fue rápido y atento.

Myself my wife and in laws have had lunch here today and it was absolutely fantastic!!! Beef baguette so tasty and plentiful, scampi and chips lovely and the Aberlour burger was cooked to perfection, lovely staff lovely hotel beautiful decor, we have a BNB in Dufftown and we will definitely be recommending to our guests for a place to eat out, will definitely be back well done guys thank you!!

Teníamos dos comidas en este lugar. La primera vez que nuestra experiencia fue muy buena, la comida era buena, nada especial, pero bueno. El personal era muy amable y atento. Así que decidimos volver al día siguiente para una cena. Fue mucho más tarde que antes, así que este lugar estaba muy concurrido, esta vez. Y todo era diferente. Diferentes miembros del personal - no amistoso y atento a todo. Después de unos 15 minutos por lo menos tuvimos un menú y una camarera nos sirve bebidas la nuestra. Nos dieron la comida después de la otra, 40 min.,

Mi esposa y yo visitamos para el almuerzo y fueron tomadas por la calidad de la oferta y el precio razonable. El personal era muy amable y el lugar era absolutamente impecable. No dudamos en visitar.

He comido aquí en dos ocasiones, en 2016 y disfrutamos de la comida dos veces. No es un restaurante elegante, pero que se adapte a mí, especialmente después de trabajar todo el día. El servicio es amable y eficiente. He tenido la torta de carne y la carne y hemos disfrutado tanto. Algunas personas son difíciles de complacer.

Have had 2 meals here in past couple of months. The first was on one of the Themed nights, Italian as it happened. The food was fine, so we went back again a few weeks later. On the second visit the food was definitely not fine. Dry and uninviting is the only way to describe it. My husband and I had different meals but in both cases the food was dry and tasteless. I guess it is a case of you pay your money and take a chance. The dining room is also lacking in any atmosphere. On both visits I had to search out staff to tell them we were there for our booking. I can offer no opinion on the rooms, as we did not stay in the hotel.

A family meal here in jan and as the only vegetarian in group I had very limited choice and when I asked for a variation of what was the only veggi option I was told chef was too busy. I won't be back. I think it needs to change menu also as I have family who live locally and seems like it hardly changes.

Our party was 3 adults 4 children and we visited on a quiet Sunday lunch time. The Staff were neither friendly or welcoming. Our order consisted of six sandwiches and a bowl of soup. This took an age to arrive. The side salad was warm/soggy. The soup was had a strange taste of vinegar, and the sandwiches were tasteless. The interior was lovely but the food was awful.

Stopped at the restaurant at the weekend for some lunch with friends and children. First impressions of the inside were positive, clean ,tidy, nice decor. However after waiting for someone to come to seat us we wandered through the restaurant, could see members of staff but no one came out to help. Eventually we were seated but then left with no menus. By this time we were seriously unimpressed but as it was a Sunday and we hadn't seen anything else open (the coop is being refurbished so we couldn't even get snacks there) we ordered then waited, drinks came and 50 minutes later so did the food, had it been cooked that wait might have been excusable but we had sandwiches and soup all round so it was ridiculous. The sandwiches were not nice, edible but only just at almost £6 a sandwich we were completely unimpressed. While visiting another cafe the next day I had a better pre packed sandwich !I will not be going back.

We had an evening meal and returned for lunch the next day. The food was tasty, well prepared and well presented. The fish was fresh, the special dessert - white chocolate mousse - was special. The service was friendly and efficient.Car parking can be hard to come by in Aberdour, so the car park at he rear is a godsend.

I thought the service was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I cant wait to visit again in late August.

While driving through we decided to stop for food and this hotel was the only place serving at the time. We were seated in the bar area as the restaurant was "fully booked" even thought not a soul showed up. We ordered just as food service had began which justifies food taking a while but not 45 minutes!! My chicken ceaser salad had a ridiculous amount of lettuce as did my grandads salmon salad both of which looked slap dash. My bacon was terribly chewy and my grandad was disappointed that his "smoked salmon" wasn't thin smoked slices like expected but cooked flakes of salmon which contained bones. My mum had the haggis and boar burger which luckily was nice but that was the only nice thing about the meal. The most disappointing part of the meal was while eating a young lady who was about 2 metres away from us at reception was complaining about her shifts and that a regular worker had been put on double time shifts...how professional of her. There is a time and place but unprofessional conversations should not take place around customers. NOT IMPRESSED.

Such a shame. The owners have obviously spent on the refurbishment. I just cannot understand why they would employ staff yet not train them in even the basics! I dont think ive ever been so dissapointed in an eatery ever. We have gone back several times to see if maybe there has been some improvement but its just more of the same slovenly, vacant, confused, inconsistent, indifferent, uneducated, backward thinking 'service with a frown' AWFUL

We should have left when the barman expected my wife to drink her tomato juice from a tenants pint glass! The meal was dismal my brothers mixed grill was burnt and inedible and returned as soon as it was served at 23 pound the most expensive item on the menu! My burger was mediocre, again at 10 pounds not cheap, you do expect something a little better than the norm. We won't be visiting again. Think before you visit there are better places nearby.
