Good food. Just be prepared to wait a while. Ample portions. Pleasant service. It can get very busy so recommend you book as we did. Overall experience was enjoyable.

Sat at a table outside waited to be served got up, went inside for menu to be told by waitress they would be with me in a minute. Back to the table, waited, saw the said waitress jump into a car and drove off! Went inside and sat at a table where we finally got some service, Ordered our meal, heard another waitress have a conversation saying she would be there to take whoever she was talking to to where they were going, think she disappeared as well. Saw three staff trying to serve customers inside and outside. Served our meal of fish and chips, sorry fish was a bit greasy and it has to be one of the worst tartare sauce I have ever had and had to ask for it! No one approached us to ask if we were enjoying our meal. Paying the bill the waitress did ask us if everything was ok. Sorry but the service needs to be better. Not impressed.

Très bon restaurant, l'accueil a été parfait. Un grand merci à l'équipe d'avoir souhaité l'anniversaire de notre fils surtout merci au serveur, qui a gentiment offert un cadeau. Nous avons passé une soirée exceptionnelle, si vous passez par Lossiemouth, surtout n'hésitez pas à vous y arrêter 😁

We had a lovely meal one evening whilst staying in Lossie for two week, it was so good, we decided to go back for our last night finale. What a mistake that was, the service was shocking and the food was disappointing to say the least, such a shame and it wasn't cheap. They were more interesting in getting meals down the stairs to The Salt Cellar Restaurant and we were ignored. The seafood platter at over £25 was terrible.

Wir waren frühzeitig im Bridge 24, einem Restaurant von “The 1629”. Hinweis: Early Evening Menu (2 Gänge £14.75; 3 Gänge £17.95) ab Öffnung 18:00 bis 19:30 außer an Samstagen! Insgesamt sind wir (2 Personen) mit einer Rechnung über £47.70 sehr zufrieden herausgegangen. Angebotene Menüs sind im Internet einsehbar; Fotos unserer Vorspeise und des Hauptganges anbei. Restaurant ist identisch mit “The 1629”, für das wohl keine Bewertungen auf Tripadvisor mehr möglich sind.

Posto carino, cibo buono, molto buono e abbondante il "cullen skink", zuppa di merluzzo affumicato, patate, cipolle e panna, buon fish & chips, ottima birra e... sorpresa: cameriere italiano! Siamo ovunque!

This restaurant gets very busy so best to book. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Twice had evening meals here and once a Sunday lunch while walking the Moray Coast Trail. Very tasty food. The 5-7pm dinner downstairs is particularly good value. Courteous service. Downstairs feels enclosed in a cavern but a pleasant atmosphere.

Choose seafood which was very good. The portion size was generous but not the cheapest menu but reasonable for the quality of the food. The service at start was a little slow we had to wait 50 minutes from arriving until our starters came.

We were at the 1629 for a special occasion and the food and service were excellent. I chose the seafood special, which is just about the highest price item on the menu, and absolutely loved it. The Cullen skink was superb as always but was not in the same league as the special. The lobster, scallops and white fish were all cooked to perfection and other than adding a different flavour didn't really need the bisque that it was served with. The other diners were all very pleased with their food as well and the red wine, we chose, was also good enough that we required a second.

Home for a visit so decided to go to 1629 for the first time in years. Poor food and service is all I can say !!!!! Seems to have gone downhill considerably in the last few years.

Das Ambiente ist sehr schön und es war rappelvoll, doch das störte nicht, sondern belebte den Abend eher. Es gab noch einen Livesänger, der gut singen konnte, aber etwas laut eingestellt war. Das Personal war nicht besonders professionell, aber dafür sehr sehr freundlich. Essen war gut, die Pizza war etwas verbrannt und der Burger sehr kümmerlich, aber sonst ein super Abend. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

I visited the 1629 on a Friday night as with my family as I wanted to hear the singer. Was seated at our pre booked table and the restaurant was very busy, despite this the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our meals were beautiful and we didn't have to wait very long. The evening entertainment was amazing, the live singer was just enchanting. The perfect end to a perfect evening.

Was up in Lossiemouth last week and called in here on sunday evening for a meal, friend had been many times and always had excelelnt meal. We were stuck in a small table in corner, waited ages for meal and was really disappointed with what arrived. We both ordered steak, I made it clear I just wanted steak and chips no extras. When it came the plate has a few chips and was full of stale vegatables. Obviously left over from sunday lunch. Steak, was small and over cooked. I did ask for the veg to be removed and it was and I was given a full plate of chips. Thought at nearly 19 quid a meal it was very over priced but it seems most places in Moray are. Wouldn't rush back.

Yet again we had another fantastic meal at the 1629. I had the Bistecca Mare Bosa and it was superb!! A well balanced sauce. The experience is well organised and efficient and the staff ensure any requested minor adjustment to the meal is catered for. Because there are two sections to the dining area you can be sure of not being crammed in with other diners. We've been there many times now and never failed to come away satisfied.

Most disappointing meal of my life. Ordered the hot chilli burger for £8.50 from the 'speciality' section of the menu, literally a burger you'd get out a burger van in a bun no bigger than the palm of your hand and to top it off two tomatoes and hot chilli sauce minus the hot. Chips which were definitely bought from the shop down the road and a clump of coleslaw. May as well have chucked the £8.50 down the loo because that's where I ended up as a result of that meal. If I could go lower than terrible believe me I would!

Visited with my partner and ordered the "Steak Sandwich". A good decription won me over, little did I know I was about to receive a meal I would complain about if it was a school dinner. £9.95 for 2 stale buns, rubber like steak "strips" with mushrooms so oily covered in garlic mayo that the whole think fell apart. I have had better microwave chips than the chips I had here. To top it all off the burger was like a kids size portion. For £9.95 it was like daylight robbery, literally. I left the establishment hungrier than when I went in. Pure bland and no effort put in. How anyone can review this 5 stars baffles me. Save yourself time and money and go elsewhere. Highly dissapointing.

Restaurant was nearly empty but had to sit in bar area and order meals, even though this area was overflowing. Eventually taken to table, my meal was nothing like I ordered, should have complained more at the time but just wanted to get out of there. Waitress asked if we were happy with meal but couldn't escape fast enough when we said no. Positive was the waiter who seated us, hung our coats and processed our payment, very friendly and happy to give tips of where to visit on our trip.

Would highly recommend great food great atmosphere.staff where lovely and friendly. Will continue to eat here for years to come.

Was here for dinner with two guys from work. We all had a good experience and a good feed. Friendly staff helped enhance the experience. The menu is Scottish and European with something for everyone. I will be going back again.

We went on a family visit ten of us and the staff were really great in making us all feel comfortable small children to adults were all delighted with the menu I would rate this restaurant a must for a large party of people food is wonderful

The food was excellent. The only bad thing was they make you wait to get seated which I think was so you would have a drink.

Went here for lunch with parents - good selection of lighter bites. Panini with Parma Ham and Italian Cheese was very tasty - only disappointment was that there was no Irn Bru left!

Tapas was very good - shared the 6-dishes with friend. Obliging staff, lovely views over the beachMight be good idea to reserve table as this is a very popular venue

Nice atomosphereand decor. Staff very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Didnt feel I was being a pest when I had to request things for my grandchildren. Thanks for fab lunch.
