The heading says it all really, myself, wife and son stopped overnight, the service was excellent, we enjoyed a very good meal and a few drinks in comfortable environment, and a lovely breakfast in the morning. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

Stopped off during our trip around the NC500 off season. We were greeted by a lovely woman who was very friendly. The food was really really good! After we were given our food, we didn't see any staff for a long time. There were no lights on so we had to use our phone torches to find the toilets. The sauce packets provided at the meal were months out of date, and when we finally wanted to pay, the staff member was on a face time call with someone the entire time we were by the bar paying. Undecided whether we'll visit again, although the food was really nice!

Visited this hotel --dirty coffee cups as we entered, the toilet was absolutely disgraceful --overflowing bin with dirty nappies spilling out on top --a plastic bottle (presumably empty handwash ) lying on floor . When we finally got to the bar it was deserted--- decor extremely dated with hotel computer on one of the tables --floor had not been hoovered . After ringing 3 times, our welcome was "she will be with you in a minute ," Eventually someone came I asked for wine --either red or white --no choice because "people don't drink wine up here" --really?? I find that hard to believe I really do having lived there for thirty years!! We ordered lunch and waited and waited ....alone in a deserted unkempt bar --eventually we left without eating as having seen both the toilet and dirty coffee cups just left on a table at 12.30 we felt hygiene was not what we would expect even pre Covid Such a shame that what was once a great hotel is now somewhere that we would never stop again .

Stayed and eaten here a few times now and it really feels like a second home! The hosts are very friendly and deliver a great service with a small team. Trust me the food is worth any wait you might have. Good hearty portions and honest cooking. Well done to Graham and Amanda.

We stopped there for dinner on August 9. The food was good - not great but good. We were sent to a table in the back room. The beers arrived mixed (1/2 pint of one and 1 pint of another one switched). We picked 2 main dishes & they were well cooked. After finishing them, we waited 50min (!) until I decided to try and fetch someone who would care about asking if we needed any dessert. Desserts were very good, by the way. Not the type of service you would expect even in a cosy/relaxed place like this. The team/waiter clearly underperformed that evening & I hope it dose not reflect other customer's experience. Ours was not so good. Let's call it bad luck.

We left our cars in their very snowy car-park and enjoyed a beautiful cross-country ski up the nearby glen. When we returned we received a warm welcome in the hotel and enjoyed tea/coffee and scones in the cosy lounge with its wood-burning stove. Thank you!

On arrival at the lodge at 1pm we found the front door locked...although check in was 3pm, we thought at least we'd be able to relax at the bar before dinner. On returning at 4pm we had to ring a bell at the bar to "check in" as there did not seem to be any "reception" desk or staff. We were shown to our room by Richard, we had been allocated the four poster bed room which we thought sounded lovely....wrong! The four poster bed had no drapes as advertised in the pictures and the room was inadequately clean. The bar area looked quite cosy and inviting BUT there was no bar staff and no kind of ambiance whatsoever. We were told we had to eat in the (drab) and uninviting conservatory. We ordered our dinner choices where my steak was well overcooked as was everything else on my plate. We also had to listen to all conversations around us as there was not so much as soft music playing. After dinner, we were asked to order our breakfast for the next day.....how odd!! On serving our breakfast, where they forgot my toast to accompany my scrambled eggs, as well as us having to make our own tea and coffee...and toast!....we also had to endure the hotel's cat sitting in front of our table....cleaning it's bits!!!! On returning to the lodge after a tiring day's hill walking, we again had to ring the bell for any kind of service. On attending to the "ring", Richard proceeded to kiss the cat which was sitting on the bar greeting us!. Dinner was disgusting. The waitress was scruffy, there was no menu on the table but she expected us to order from memory! I ordered a glass of red wine, she returned with 2 open bottles and said "which one do you want?".... My partner ordered haggis, neeps and tatties....a real traditional dish in Scotland (we are Scottish!) . It came in 3 dollops of mush on the plate, and the neeps a dark brown colour...unedible! Again, we had to ring the bell for attention (through in the bar), before Richard attended to us. We explained the problem and he left muttering about having to "cook it from fresh now". Thankfully, we did not have to order breakfast for the next morning......OR MAYBE WE SHOULD HAVE! At breakfast next day, we were totally ignored, we made our own tea and coffee again then had to ask if we could have a breakfast! Considering we felt we had very unsatisfactory service and food quality (for £125 per night) we suggested a discount at time of settling the bill....we got £20 off...probably the cost of my bad steak. There were numerous other issues...squashed flies on the window sill by our table...cat hairs... we could go on. In whole a very disappointing experience and would not recommend staying here.

Arrived 11.10am on Wednesday, when we saw the electric 'Open' lit up. Drove through the open gate, parked by the sign saying Susan and Richard welcome you. Stopped dead at the locked door and wondered which bit of being closed when advertising as open was the welcoming part? Drove out of the scabby badly maintained car parking area, away from the van with four flat tyres and the rubbish laid around and decided we won't try here again.

En route to Laide for a few days' holiday, my mother, brother, sister-in-law and I were feeling rather hungry. We found a little inn called Inchbae, run by a couple called Richard and Susan. Although it was past serving time, they kindly served us fish and chips, with homemade coleslaw and beautifully presented salad, and drinks. I also couldn't help noticing the bright, fresh decor, and the colourful check curtains tied with tartan ribbon. We would highly recommend this place to anyone, as the food was delicious, the people were lovely, the service was great and the surroundings were gorgeous!

We needed somewhere to stop for an early tea on the way to going off for several days in the hills. Two hotels I called were either not serving all-day food or didn't answer. When I called Inchbae Lodge, Susan answered and was really welcoming and friendly - and they served all-day food! When we got there, we were pleased to note the choice of local real ales on tap. The inn itself is very homely and comfortable - somewhere you can completely relax and be yourself. I actually loved the little cat who wandered in to say hi, and the motorbike in the conservatory where we sat. It was quirky and fun. The menu was great - unpretentious home-cooked food, but all using local produce which is a massive bonus and also benefits the local communities in the Highlands here. Susan was lovely and looked after us well. Our food was delicious (I had the venison steak). There was a wee bit of a wait for our food, but if you take into account it is all home-cooked fresh by just one person (Richard) then it is completely understandable. We liked it so much we stopped by for lunch again on the way home a few days later. There is a really pleasant and peaceful seating area at the back by the river.

we expected to find this in Garve but it's actually several miles outside - we retraced our steps and found it. Service wasn't particularly quick but was helpful and identified some good veggie options. I enjoyed my nut roast but my companion wasn't quite as impressed with his fish & chips - he's also not a cat lover so was a bit put off by the cat wandering around the eating area. All the food freshly made and the cooking competent served in a nice and interesting setting. I'd go back ... but might be on my own!

This was our second visit to Inchbae Lodge, Sue & Richard made us very welcome. It's a lovely place to sit and relax in front of the wood burning stove, enjoying a good pint from the bar and a bit of banter from Sue & Richard. Rooms are clean warm & comfy with power showers. We also enjoyed home cooked food locally produced in their cosy restaurant. Well worth a visit.

We decided to have a 'West Coast' pub road trip on Hogmanay, Inchbae was our first stop on the way to Ullapool. Sue and Richard were the perfect hosts, providing a good buffet and laughs! We enjoyed our time there so much that we made a point of getting back there before the bells! Everyone super friendly! The lodge is awesome for both large and smaller parties - they have various cosy snugs for smaller groups and a slightly larger reception room for larger parties. Definitely coming back.....for your amazing food, ambience and banter!! 10 out of 10! Xx

Although the restaurant was very quiet we enjoyed what was clearly a home cooked, delicious meal. My sister-in-law was delighted at being able to choose from a selection of vegetarian options on a menu that would appeal to any taste. We wish the new owners success in restoring this establishment to the popular venue it used to be.

Called in here for lunch as reviews say the new owners are pushing to improve the previous dire reviews. Our lunch was absolutely fine, taken in the conservatory which has huge potential, There's an awful lot of work to be done to really make the building top notch but there are some simple things that could be done quickly to improve matters. There is an amount of rubbish in the garden overlooked by the conservatory, just a few minutes moving some ancient rusty items would improve the view beyond belief.
