The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Me and my parents came today for our dinners had the best fish and chips we have had in absolute ages, lovely fish with crispy batter with fluffy chips with mushy peas, very nice and helpful staff definitely will be back again

Manager with terrible hygiene asked us to leave because our kids were playing in the grass. Even said a 7 year old boy had knocked over a concrete bollard which was obviously already unsafe. Food is disgusting and beer is flat, don't go here

Whilst visiting Scarborough with my grandson he requested fnchips for lunch , stumbled upon catch 55 and glad l did , l ordered regular haddock n chips n curry sauce n jumbo haddock n chips n scraps, the shop was emaculatly clean and the lady serving was so polite and even the fryer had a word about the jumbo haddock being to big for the box n he was right lol the tastes n presentation of the food were second to none , il certainly be calling again if I'm over at Scarborough again, my grandson was mighty impressed also 😀 thank you catch 55

Called in Thursday with daughter she had eggs royal we had croissants and bacon sandwich and coffee brilliant as usual staff are all very nice there to help you if there is anything you need it's like part of a family thanks Andrew and all the staff

Stopped here en route to Northumberland. What a quaint, picturesque town! We called in for a pot of tea and scones and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was a real homely feel to the place and the staff were super friendly. Everything was so reasonably priced too! When we next go on holiday we’ll call again if in the area. Highly recommended.

Food absolutely fantastic. Taste was amazing. Best meal I've ever had. The garlic mushrooms was out of this world. I hate mushrooms but this was amazing. The steak all I can say WOW 👌. Presentation was great, very good portions. Staff so lovely and welcoming. Couldn't do enough for you. Above and beyond. Highly recommend. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Atmosphere was so nice. Most definitely be going again

We visited while staying at the Wolds Edge Holiday Lodges. We had a lovely meal that was home cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. Service was excellent, all the staff were friendly and accommodating, we felt very welcome.

Nos recomendaron The Miner's, así que pensamos en intentarlo por un cumpleaños familiar. Wow! ¡Qué lugar! Al cruzar la puerta nos transportaron de vuelta a una época de pubs adecuados, con el olor de la hermosa comida del pub. ¡Fue genial ver un negocio local bullir un viernes por la noche! Desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta tuvimos una cálida bienvenida y nos trataron como amigos. El servicio era excepcional y el ambiente muy relajante. ¡Entonces está la comida! ¡Fantástico! Comida casera apropiada. Maravillosos y impresionantes tamaños de porción. Mi marido tenía la hamburguesa del minero. ¡Fue épico! Si quieres buena hospitalidad en el viejo Yorkshire y comida increíble, tienes que ir a The Miner's. Definitivamente volveremos!

Lovely little café selling hot drinks, cakes and breakfast/brunch. The staff were really nice and helpful! They also have good vegan options, which I really appreciate, especially for such a small town café :) The flapjack was good — not too sugar-y like many flapjacks are. Couldn’t resist also getting some handmade earrings from the range of art/crafts/food gifts on sale.

Well, me and my wife and my dog grow up in Sowerby Dalton area and we popped into Thirsk lovely little place but then we did want something to eat. We’ve driven past the Nelson but we weren’t sure so we popped in there was space lovely lady behind the bar Seemed very very busy but found us a lovely spot came over and spoke to us. Think I went for the burger and chips no vegetables if anyone asks have you and Ella allergy? I always say vegetables Not Sure my wife had river I love you dog sat down comfortably. I think a lot of pubs will struggle as this particular small town had a Wetherspoons and we all know Wetherspoons are cheap. I do visit them quite a lot sometimes you just don’t want the atmosphere Said the local atmosphere but the staff very friendly something you don’t really get Wetherspoon. I’m not sure we did and we have a new puppy who is a big labrador cross but located is very nice won’t be in the area again so won’t be visiting will certainly recommend for others some parking outside or we parked down by the river and we could’ve just walked up.

Have stayed here numerous times Carnt fault rooms , the road noise Carnt be helped they provide ear plugs !! . Really disappointed with breakfast was very bland & not warm we sat at a table , she asked us to move into the pool table room which had high bar stool and the table was a Barrel which tbh there was not enough for everything caused a bit off stress as everything was on top off each other Not Good tbh . She offered us to move but that again was pointless as we were in middle of breakfast. Very Disappointed ☹️
