The best restaurants serving British food in North Lincolnshire Yorkshire and The Humber

This place is awful to go to as a special needs person. They pretend to understand when they don't, they think that working with one neurodivergent person means that they can work with them all. As someone who gets triggered really easily, they don't handle it very well. I went for a karaoke night, and I saw someone who abused/is abusing my ex-friend and had a panic attack, they left the volunteers, children who were younger than me to sort me out, people who are not equipped to deal with that sort of thing, then they immediately sent me onto the stage for karaoke. They then got annoyed with me when I said that it's not right that they allow abusers in the building, and they don't handle any situation well. I would give it zero stars right now, but that isn't an option, but I'm not standing for the mistreatment of my fellow neurodivergent brothers, sisters and siblings

We have eaten here many times, the food is fabulous and the service is great, every time we visit we are really welcomed and have a great time.

We came for a Sunday lunch as had heard really good things, and are trying to find a regular carvery spot close by. The carvery was okay, the meat was great but other than that everything else was very average. Priced reasonably, £11.50 for adults. However, the customer service wasn’t the best, we had never been before and we wasn’t told where to go over and get the rest of the carvery, or told how any of it worked. So we did have to get up and go ask ourselves. The menus are very dated and could probably do with a freshen up. Everything else was fine though :)

Excellent food... our party of 4 had Steak with peppercorn Sauce & Fish & Chips ... just so tasty. Well presented, staff so friendly & helpful. Gorgeous setting, dining room was super relaxing & comfy. We will most definitely make this a regular place to eat out.

Fantastic local little pub situated in the country kinda. It’s gorgeous decorated interior and we love to visit this pub regularly now 🥰 I always bring my Mum along with me when we come out for some drinks and we always have a nice time. The staff really pay attention to you and make you feel at home.

Food portions were huge, put salt on my food without asking so didn't eat much. Guy with top knot only served locals, told us he wasn't working!!

This is such a busy place and has a great atmosphere.

Fantastic atmosphere....great day out

I have never fully experienced the Beckwood despite being born in Sunny Scunny. I have heard mixed reviews on the food however I must say it was outstanding. The chips were fab and the burgers were sexy beasties plus they have mushy peas. The staff were incredibly friendly and the best part was the fact milkshakes are served. Looking forward to dining more. The only thing I would say is for more exotic desserts.

We have experienced Winteringham Fields multiple times, and each visit has left us in awe of the exceptional service and the Michelin-starred menu. However, I must admit that this time, I was very disappointed. From the moment we moved from the lounge to the dining area, the ambiance felt completely off. As we approached, the noise level was more reminiscent of a lively bar than the refined, intimate atmosphere we had previously enjoyed. It appeared that two large tables had been booked for one party, and the environment felt more like a bottomless brunch than a fine dining experience. Throughout the evening, the group moved between tables, blocking the serving staff and diverting attention from other diners, including ourselves. This disruption slowed service significantly, with the frustration of the kitchen staff becoming evident through their calls for service. When each beautifully presented dish arrived, we struggled to hear the explanation of its components, flavors, and provenance over the noise. We had to ask multiple times for further clarification, which took away from the immersive experience Winteringham Fields is known for. I don't understand why such a large and boisterous party wasn’t seated in the private dining room or at least reminded to be mindful of other guests. Their loud and disruptive behavior showed a complete disregard for fellow diners, which significantly diminished what should have been a special evening for us. This visit, unfortunately, fell far short of the standard we had come to expect, and I truly hope it was an isolated incident rather than a shift in the restaurant’s approach to maintaining its signature atmosphere.

Was greeted by Jack on arrival, seated very quickly. Was asked whether I’d been before, asked whether there were any allergy’s to be aware of, we were asked if we needed a high chair which was provided straight away. Drinks were ordered and arrived within 10 minutes of being sat down so very quick service. And food was taken a couple of minutes later. Was presented with friendly, smiley attitude and food was lovely. Very good value for money and over all happy with the service and food. Jack and owen very friendly and helpful staff members during the visit.

Been today, lovely little cafe, plenty of choice friendly staff, very varied menu, food excellent and very reasonably priced,enjoyed our visit

I love the The Old Tile Works and always enjoy the food and ambience. But the last two visits were disappointing. The prawns we usually love were wet and watery as if they hadn’t been dried after thawing. The last visit as well as wet prawns the chips were cold and my coffee too. It was very busy and lots of staff but it didn’t feel organised. When we ordered deserts they were handed over to us on a plate at the till as opposed to bringing them to the table. It felt as if no one was in charge of the chaos. It was always reliable the food and the service and l’m sure it will be again.
