Fantastic local little pub situated in the country kinda. It’s gorgeous decorated interior and we love to visit this pub regularly now 🥰 I always bring my Mum along with me when we come out for some drinks and we always have a nice time. The staff really pay attention to you and make you feel at home.

Had a delicious Sunday Lunch and the pudding was amazing for a reasonable price too, proper home cooked everything. Lovely friendly staff, a real nice ambience. We were allowed to bring our dog in which was great. We will definitely be returning here as it was an all round pleasant experience. Very happy customers Highly Recommend x

Went for Sunday roast. It was lovely. The size of the piece of pork was huge. I had turkey and it was bootiful the roasties were fluffy inside but nice and crunchy outside. Food was nice and hot. Starters were lovely too. No room for puds so unable to comment. The member if staff serving was lovely and she had a sense of humour too. We will definitely be going back again xx

Took a chance and booked Christmas Day lunch 2023. We live in Brigg and had only previously ate here once. Really pleased we did as everything was excellent. The food was amazing and staff friendly. What more could we ask, thank you.

So tonight we thought we would have a meal at our local and the food was really good. I had Spicy Chicken Wings with potato wedges and it was so nice and yummy with lots. We was unsure at first as we normally do weatherspoons as the prices are cheaper. But we was so surprised mine was £11.50 and you get plenty, my husband had Scampi and Chunky Chips and he was also surprised. We will be back again for food

What an absolute amazing pub a must visit for food and drink, we drove down from staying at the forest pine golf resort late in the evening looking for a local pub meal as he was quiet he had turned the kitchen off he had no problem lightning up the kitchen to cook us up a wonderful chicken tikka for two washed down with a nice cold cider in a lovely atmosphere and to be honest at a great price and his dog is amazing. A must visit.

Lovely and homely looking place, decor is lovely and all staff were friendly. My chicken was less cooked than I’d like and the staff dealt with it swiftly and professionally. Once that was sorted, the quality and portion size was brilliant. Only downside was the coffee machine was not working when we asked and it would have finished the meal off, but it wasn’t the end of the world.

Me and my partner come here as it is our local alot but this is the first time for food and it is very nice. He had the pulled pork bun and chips, I have the chicken fajitas and chips then a pudding, it was plenty, fresh and hot. Worth every penny for what u get. Give it a go as u will be surprised

I needed a small room for private family gathering with buffet. Extremely warm greeting on arrival by all staff who couldn’t do enough for us. The buffet was exceptional, with a large variety of sandwiches of all types, chicken, meat slices and lots of cakes with more than plenty on offer and all freshly prepared that morning. Lots of Tea and coffee with refills and the bar open if needed. Thank you The Red Lion and staff I cannot thank you enough, extremely impressed.

My husband and I had booked for Sunday Dinner, but had to cancel as the latest the lady could book us was 16:30hrs and being diabettic I needed to eat closer to 18:00hrs. Having received a lovely friendly greeting over the phone we decided that we really wanted to give the place a try while we were in the area for five days. I wish we had gone more than once. This is a family business with two lovely ladies at front of house, we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Covid pandemic contact was beginning to be lifted, and they had all precautions in place really well spaced and we felt very safe. We both choose to have the lasagne, chips and peas a £5 special off the board. Upon speaking to one of the sisters about how they do it for this price, all produce is locally sourced and home made. Apparently grandma even help peel potatoes and prepare vegetables. A real family business. The food was of a generous portion, well presented and really lovely flavours, of garlic, oregano, turmeric, fennel and marjoram came through. A home made rich and creamy bechamel sauce topped with a good cheese. Real hand cut chips, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and petit pois on the side. We wish we could go again and certainly will when we return to the area. Highly recommend.

We had yet another excellent take away from the Red Lion they have never let us down with the quality and service at throught the lock downs.

My question is...... how do you do it for this money? I travel around quite a lot through business and this is the best value stay I’ve ever had!! Sure the rooms are a little dated but everything is clean and tidy and the staff are helpful and courteous. EXCELLENT VALUE

Visited with friends and family after recommendation from people of Broughton walking and allotment group who attended a function over Christmas. Table readily available despite there being 8 of us. Room nicely decorated. Shame not to see more people dining. Food arrived in good time, presented well, portion sizes great and all reasonably priced. Children’s portion sizes were also big and of good quality. We will definitely recommend and will be visiting again. We did visit again the other evening to enjoy a drink by the cosy wood burner. People of Broughton and surrounding areas support your local pub!

First the good points, my partner and I enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal here on Christmas Day, the food was hot and plentiful, it exceeded our expectations...

Finding a location for a family Christening celebration after church is more difficult than it sounds. The Red Lion is a gem in the village, we had a short walk from the church and were welcomed warmly. Buffet food was excellent and the staff were very helpful even when asked for something specific like plain jam sandwich. Thank you for making the reception as part of a very memorable day.

Excellent food. Superb value £10 for roast and pudding. Extra gravy jugs. Amazing proper fried chips.

Good meal value for money ordered two children’s meals £5.99 menu said you got cordial and ice cream never got offered cordial at all and had to go and ask after I’d paid for the meals for their ice creams

6 of us went for Sunday dinner, the service was terrible waited over an hour for are sunday dinner, no apology or nothing, meat was nice, veg was hard, mash was nice, roast potatoes were cold if u actually got one 2 of us didn't get 1, no sauces offered like mustard, the pudding was nice so I was told but mine had been sold out even thou I ordered it 2 hrs before hand, I left with disgust yet again no apology, definitely will never go again.

Not at all happy with our Sunday lunch the food was ok but the public bar atmosphere did go down well at all. Over charging on drinks and the way the bill was presented left a lot to be desired. It will be a long time before we go anywhere near this place don't think we could recommend it.

6 of us turned up with out a booking as the plumber couldn't get to install the new oven after we moved house.The staff were most welcoming, drinks were swiftly ordered for all.We had a sharing camembert dipping starter and cheesy garlic bread.When we ran out of dipping bread more was supplied with any fuss in a timely manner.The staff were attentive so the drinks kept flowing.We had a range of mains, my eldest son and I had the mixed grillTwo lamb cutlets, steak, chicken breast,Pork Steak, beautifully cooked liver, sausauge and a fried egg. The twice fried homemade thick chips were to die for.My wife enjoyed the Gammon shank, it fell off the bone.Charlies Gammon and chips went down a treat and when ordering we scrapped the salad and peas so no waste.Daisy had a Hunters Chicken which simply beat her. But fear not Joseph my 13 year old polished that off after.Joes Red Lion cheese and bacon beef burger looked amazing and barely touched the sides.Deserts were easy 3 hot chocolate fudge cakes and 3 chocolate specials which i cant remember the name off were excellent.In total including 6 mains, three sharing platters and 6 deserts and 3 rounds of drinks the total was only £136.I thought that the service quality of the food we justified the price.I would highly recommend the Red Lion in Broughton North Lincs.

7 of us and a puppy had lunch here beautiful food and very nicely presented and served a bit of a wait but it was worth it for the quality of the food. The pork loin was absolutely lovely. Plus the cheesecake was delicious all for £10.00 for two courses . Brilliant value as well .

Dreadfull place , full of youngish local drunks.... loud etc etc thank goodness we were not there to eat ... it was like an episode of shameless

Visited here today after hearing good things about the food and wasnt disappointed. Had a belly pork roast dinner and my Mrs had chicken and bacon roast dinner, both were superb! Loads of gravy and an extra jug for good measure, mash, roast, carrots, courgette, green beans, yorkshire puds. The meat was lovely, will 100% go back again

Good food and good service , good choice for a stop off . The ribs are worth a try ! And a good selection of drinks .

Took my mum and family here for a Mother’s Day carvery! Food was fresh, piping hot and tasted like a perfect home cooked roast! Couldn’t fault the food one bit! Will definitely be going back! BEST CARVERY EVER!!!! 👌🏻

called in to the pub for a drink with friends on a Sunday evening at 8pm. Expected to be able to stay there until 10pm enjoying the company of friends and having several drinks. The bar attendant approached us at 9pm advising us that he was calling last orders and would be closing shortly. Our evening was completely spoiled by this decision to close the bar on the whim of the bar staff.. Needless to say we will not be going there again.

Booked this morning for 6 people, sat at 2pm and ordered featherblade beef, came with mash, roast potatoes, yorkshire pudding, vegetables and loads of gravy..... the beef was melt in the mouth. Followed by an Eaton Mess in a pasta bowl, it was huge.... so tasty and the whole meal was presented beautifully. Cooked to perfection.

I was initially unsure when we arrived as the pub only has a 5 star food safety rating and being in catering I'm very fussy! Our friends booked though so we didn't have a hand in choosing.

Wanted a quiet place for a Saturday lunch. It was most certainly that ! There were no more than 9 other people however service was at best slow.

Just had our Xmas lunch today food and service was exellent very enjoyable thanks to all staff would recommend this pub to everyone.

Visited this large sprawling pub midweek evening for dinner but was immediately concerned to find it almost devoid of customers. The barmaid was welcoming and friendly but both she and I were surprised to find the cask beer to be off sale so I had to settle for something else. The food choices didn't seem to correspond to the menu I had seen online but we all found something and we all enjoyed it but felt that the portions were a little mean. The desserts were excellent but we were disappointed to find that they were considerably more expensive at £6.95 than the online menu showed at £4.95.

Came here after recommendation from a friend.

The local prophets of doom had advised us that the food was somewhat indifferent. Nevertheless as it was a Friday night and on our doorstep we gave it a go. We arrived at 7pm and it was very quiet. We were immediately shown to our table and immediately informed that 3 dishes weren’t available from the already limited menu. Braised steak fish pie and the chile con carne were all off. Dairy and egg allergy sufferers aren’t at all well catered for. My wife could not eat any of the starters on the menu and when asked if the chef could offer an alternative dish the request was a simple no. We therefore only had a mains. My wife went for a rib eye steak and the only dish that I could have was a plain chicken burger with jacket potato. Just as we were expecting our meals the waitress came over to inform us that they hadn’t got any ribeye steak. Jen went for sirloin instead. The food was far from memorable. There were no options for a dessert. Jen ordered a black coffee. The coffee came with a jug of milk???? Which we found amusing. However we were not amused when checking the bill to find that we had been charged 25p for extra milk!!!!!

Went here for an evening meal as a birthday celebration. It was all OK but unremarkable. The food choices were a bit limited but quality was fine as was the service and cost.

Not the best meal I've had. We had to wait for the vegetables which then made the mains cold. I think some customer service training is required.

have enjoyed several meals at the red lion in the past ;so booked a family dinner party on what was billed as a curry night, having waited over an hour for the food to arrive I began to wonder what was going on. I soon found out.!the meal arrived luke warm and totally lacking in flavour no sign of any condiments ie mango chutney very disappointed .will now review my xmas dinner plans

very cold in there I didnt take my coat off at all !! Shame really because the food was quite nice but it kind of took the shine off the meal because it was so cold

Went here with friends 2 of us had sirloin steak this was cooked to perfection generous portions 1 had Whitby scampi which again was very good 1 had ham salad which was a little on the small side we ordered a portion of onion rings which was huge but the best I’ve had the service was good and the staff friendly well worth a visit . We will be calling again that’s for sure xx

This is a well run Pub Restaurant with helpful, friendly Management and staff trying hard to welcome new customers, hopefully to become 'Regulars'. There is a wide choice of menu. Having been twice we enjoyed and cannot fault the meals and attentive service but, the table surfaces we found to be sticky. Maybe a good machine sanding and refinish would do the trick. We intend to visit again after allowing time to see if the management check and improve the tables.

The first time we have been here ( but not the last ) . Really good home cooked Sunday lunch ,very tasty and beautifully presented,the beef was excellent as was the lamb ,not just boring carrots and peas , but lovely spring onions green cabbage and broad beans mixed together! Really good sweets as well !

First visit of our group of friends to The Red Lion and we were all impressed - an accomplishment, believe me! A young man showed us to our table, told us what we might order other than the menu and was charming throughout. The young lady who served was efficient and very pleasant. We all had different meals and agreed they were delicious. The Red Lion is now on our list of places to visit for our monthly meet-ups!

The Rotary club of Scunthorpe Pentagon held a meeting at the Red Lion tonight. All members were impressed with the service and the food quality. Excellent soup and a roast beef dinner. Meeting was held in the function room which also suited us well. Many members will be visiting again under their own steam.

We had the best home cooked Sunday lunch. The beef was so tasty and tender. The waiters were very attentive and made sure we were all looked after. Excellent service.

Called in for a meal in December and found the food very disappointing but decided to give them another try as December can be a busy month, wish we hadn't bothered.

Called in for tea after recommendation, friendly staff and good choice of reasonably priced drinks. Tuesday was Italian night so opted for homemade lasagne which was very tasty & came with garlic bread, salad & chips. Wife had fresh haddock & chips again very tasty & good value for money.

Get together with brother over T, steak night. Really good expected normal deal type meal half portions and no trimmings. Not at all, lovely steak all the trimmings and a free pint ta boot. Girls opted for hunters chicken, which was really nice to. All in all very good long may it continue.

It was ok, not necessarily well presented. The veg was served altogether in a dish & looked like something you would feed to the animals! The best bit was the starter & desert ! The Staff were very helpful

I left a review for this place saying how good it was after our first visit under new ownership, we’ve been a few times since but I forget to leave a review, anyway after going for tea tonight, yet again everything was superb, both the food and the service. Wife had prawn cocktail, which was nicely presented and tasty, followed by the mushroom stroganoff that was very nice, I had the chicken wings with peri peri sauce, very nice, followed by the Cajun chicken curry that was perfect, really nicely flavoured, not hot just really really tasty, I’ll definitely have it again.

We went with a group of 8 kids for a birthday meal and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and the staff went above and beyond. Thankyou all again for helping make our daughters birthday special and I’m sure we will be back again soon.

Visited for a festive meal with a large group of friends and had the side function room all to ourselves. The food tasted as good as it looked and the service was brilliant throughout the night.

Husband and I visited today and, again, had a lovely, hot, well presented meal. He had the Pork and I had the Silverside of Beef. Staff friendly and helpful and efficient. What's not to like? Will definitely be visiting again

Although this is my first review of the Red Lion at Broughton, I have visited a few times now, and it is consistently good in terms of friendliness of the staff, price and quality of the food.

First class meal ,pub very busy but despite this service very good, staff cheerful and helpful this will our venue of choice in the future.

We are local to this pub and visited on a few occasions. Every time the food is of the highest quality, reasonably priced and big portions. Selection of drinks is good with guest ales and an ever expanding Gin list! Will definitely return again.

The first visit to this pub.The manager saw me arrive with my 90 year old mother and came to lead the way and open doors.The food was yummy.Large portions are terrific value for money.We were 6 in the party and all enjoyed it. We will return.

Came here with a group of ladies. Really impressed by the menu choices, and the value for money. I had the curry which was delicious. Other choices included the fish and chips (huge portion!) All the good was piping hot, tasty and service was excellent. Pleased to see a range of good gin and beer available too.

Ate there a few times serice was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful, food and drinks were good value for price.

This pub has gone from zero to hero in the last few months and its success continue to grow.

Having seen many local people review the food favourably we gave it a go, having not been in the pub for some time. The landlord was very friendly as were all the staff. I had the steak and ale pie and it came with chips and fresh vegetables. It was very good. My wife had ribs and she said they were also good. We have now booked our local drama group in for Xmas meal and will be going again soon

Had an afternoon booking for Sunday lunch with my husband and young daughter. We found that even though it was busy the service was very efficient. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for our daughter and we got a high chair, colouring page and crayons and plastic cutlery. Her meal was nearly as big as ours! The food was very plentiful and delicious, lots of veg and huge serving of the roast meat. They had sold out of one of the specials by 3:30pm but that is to be expected on a busy day. The restaurant was clean and well set out. All in all good value, we will definitely be returning (although we might book a bit more in advance next time!)

Had a meal Friday night with friends and we all enjoyed our food. Good steak and ale pie and proper chips, couldn't eat it all. Will definitely go again.

Went yesterday teatime (22/08/17)

As the title say's, this Village has been crying out for somewhere to have a nice meal. It is good, very very good. Our second time here for Sunday Lunch, but I fancied a change. I had Sirloin Steak, superb, chips , onion rings and a lovely Strawberry and raspberry cheesecake. Great staff, very professional, nothing too much trouble for them.

Visited with a friend on the spur of the moment. I had the curry of the day and my friend had the Wednesday steak and drink deal. Both were very good and very well priced. It was busy with a great atmosphere and the staff who appeared to be rushed off their feet were friendly and helpful. Definitely be back!

I visited here for the first time today with 2 family members. We ordered the lasagne, Hunters chicken and a cheese omelette, all of which came with a generous portion of very good twice cooked chunky chips and a salad garnish with coleslaw. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Most main meals were around the £8 mark - the omelette was around a fiver I think. There was an offer on Tuesday to Saturday between 12pm and 5pm where if you ordered a main meal the second was half price so this made the bill quite reasonable.

What a pleasant surprise, never really liked the lion before, but after refurbishment and a new landlord and hearing some good reports, we've been meaning to go and try it out, so we decided to go for Sunday lunch, and am I glad we did, the roast beef dinner was excellent and came with a good selection of veg, and some very tasty new potatoes. We'll definitely be going back again.

Our fourth visit can only recommend lovely service pleasant atmosphere and the food is delicious and lots of it nice to have the Lion back at last somewhere in Broughton within walking distance so we both can enjoy a drink and good food will definitely be going again

Had a meal with friends this was our first visit on a recommendation the place it's self very clean easy to get into and comfortable,my meal wasn't the best I have had the mushrooms were a bit over done,but the burger the others had went down well.The bar staff wasn't very professional one in particular was rude and not very pleasant,staring at us while we ate.

At last !! Finally the Red Lion is back!! Excellent tasty home cooked food, lovely atmosphere, great service and value for money. The cottage pie and lasagne were amazing. We will definitely be back!! Keep up the good work 😊

We just had lunch at The Red Lion and didnt expect much as a lot of pub food is disappointing. Not this one! The steak pie was truly home made, the pastry was golden and gorgeous and the meat tender and delicious. The lasagne was seriously tasty and tasted lovely and fresh. The chips were home made and light and fluffy and the chopped salad that came with the lasagne was fabulous.

Excellent quality food and plentiful. Excellent customer service. The Red Lion has been tastefully re-decorated recently too.

Visited the newly refurbished Red Lion on Wednesday evening and had a great meal. Atmosphere was very pleasant, completely different to how it used to be. Food quality was excellent, with plenty of it. I would highly recommend having a meal here - we will certainly be going again soon.

Me and my daughter (2years old) came in for some dinner as we heard it opened up again. We were greeted really nicely by the bar and restaurant staff. The menu had plenty of variety with a lot being homemade. I got the homemade lasagne and I couldn't recommend it more highly. The food was brilliant, the kids meal for £4.99 gave you a selection of dishes to have, which also came with a drink and ice cream. I will definitely be returning.

Had Sunday lunch here a while ago. Was given ordinary tonic water when I asked for diet tonic and the member of staff just laughed when I mentioned it and didn't apologise. The meal was quite acceptable but the dining room was rather cold and lacking in atmosphere. I understand that this particular pub has changed hands quite a lot over the past two/three years so things may now have changed

We went to a diamond wedding anniversary and were welcomed by the staff. Good range of beers, gins and cider. We had hot food and a very enjoyable evening

Just happened to be passing through on a Sunday lunchtime and decided to stop for Sunday Lunch. Inside us divided into three areas, a restaurant, a bar and a sports bar area. You can eat in all three. Inside is fairly standard plain pub decor, this place isn't pretending to be anything other than what it is. We ate in the bar as the restaurant was busy. Sunday Lunch roast beef was delicious, hence the 5 stars. My husband had the regular size, which was massive, I'm pleased I ordered the children's which was still a good size meal. Gravy delicious and we asked for extra in a jug. Good value

Basically a totally average pub meal, and slow service, waiting about 1 hour from order to receiving our food. Priced low, but you get what you pay for. Food quality was mixed for us and I can't say I will be rushing back, which is disappointing as local competition is not up to much. Much better can be found in Brigg.

Loud disco, some scruffy older punters, wide age range, chirpy youngsters, good beer. Contrasted well with the middle class inn The Thatch up the road and with the pleasant but empty Dog and Rat down the road.

We came here one evening after work as we hadn't been since the new owners had come in. It was clean and the staff were lovely. They do pretty good pub food. We would go back!

Above average pub food and good service. However, we arrived on a sunny lunchtime and asked if we could eat in the garden. We were immediately met with "you'll have to pay before you go outside" from the barmaid, then a woman behind us (manager?) shouted over "no because I'm getting the grass cut!" she went into a long explanation about how it shouldbeen done earlier but her mower needed servicing...blah..blah.. Not friendly or welcoming or apologetic for the inconvenience. When I went out to look at the courtyard area tables, I realised we couldn't have eaten out there either because it stank of stale ashtrays.

My husband and I went for lunch after promising ourselves we would after seeing pictures of their meals on Facebook. We weren't disappointed the meals look exactly like the pictures and tasted as good as they looked (the best homemade chips I have had in a long time!). Generous portion sizes and excellent value for money. Run by a lovely couple who have very attentive staff, we will definitely go back.......probably Monday :)

Went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent! I was told that new managers took over this place a few weeks ago and for those who know the local pub scene I recognised Amber and Sean who used to run the Black Bull in Brigg. Amber was doing the cooking so I would ignore any reviews prior to the beginning of March 2016. Always liked the food at Black Bull so am delighted that the new team are here. Service was good and it would definitely have been 5 stars but for the fact the restaurant was a bit cool for my delicate self!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here today, good helping of tender beef with excellent Yorkshire puddings. In the words of our seven year old ' it was lovely, can we come back? ' I think that will be a definite, would highly recommend

I am so angry it's unreal ...Today was my birthday and my parents have just moved here so we decided to try this pub .....being new to the village and to celebrate my birthday ..

Visited Friday teatime.I ordered gammon only to be told that they had just sold the last one so I decided to have the chilli, it came in a dish with rice and a crusty roll and sour cream dip. I think they must have forgotten the chilli as there was hardly any taste of it and the roll seemed to have been heated in microwave as it was soft and too hot to touch.
