Went to celebrate a wedding anniversary, 8 of us. Just wanted to try somewhere different. No table was set up, despite having booked over the phone. Was advised they had been busy. We were then put in an extension on our own, difficult to get in and out of with the table seating on the other side of the door with people spilling over into the walkway. Didn’t help that the person was an immovable object oblivious to what was happening and people trying to get through, but in fairness they thought they had a corner seat out of the way and suddenly they are in the passage! Perhaps it was just our unlucky day. First the gas was off for fizzy drinks so you could only have flat which no one wants. Waiting for our meal was a long time but, it it’s not being done by ‘chef Mic’ you expect a wait. When the two chicken burgers finally came out they were both burnt around the edges. I sent mine back - there was no apology. I even discussed with one of the staff (blame expression like not interested) why didn’t you just cut off the burnt bit no one would have known? The rest of the meals were okay. The children’s meals were a good size and the menu was fun for them. Anyway experience we will not be repeating. The bar staff were lovely and had a lot to deal with but kept smiling. Think this is more a pub trying to serve meals rather than a pub with meals if you get what I’m saying 😊 Great place for a drink though.

We ordered ouur drinks and food, then waited a long time in the queue too get served ,there more take aways going out than people get there on the premises. When finally too being sorted we stood ages waiting for more potatoes, Yorkshire puddings,and by time you too eat our meal it had gone cold.would I come again ?. No.

Serve nice food. Been twice and both times an hour wait for food, but they let you know and it's worth the wait. Never had a bad meal. The sharing platters are really worth their money. Plenty of food for two, and the mac n cheese balls are amazing! Easy parking. Dining room set out nice and spacious. Staff attentive, friendly and chatty.

The food was a little too average and didn’t really live up to the hype in our opinion. It took a while to come and I think it may be because it’s a small kitchen/not having many staff on? For 3 of our meals it took nearly an hour to come out and by the time it did, we weren’t really hungry. The pints were still good though even if a little expensive.

It took a while to get served, meat was sparce. Meat was also sat next to.the other meat(some ppl cld.be allergic to some so not.good) meat was also picked.up by the fork and transfered to another side table.to be carved. Why isnt each meat sat.on it's on pronged.plate? The veg wasn't.hot also hard, yorkshire pudding.was burnt stuffing.balls were.the best.thing on my plate that actually had taste. Being one of the first group of.ppl in the restaurant all the puddings weren't available and no diet cokes. All round not.a good visit

Went with friends for a carvary and wasn’t disappointed. Eaten here on several occasions and it such good value for money . The staff are friendly and organised. Good was amazing . Most places charge for cauliflower cheese and this is available in the carvary .

Visited here on a Wednesday evening which we expected would probably be fairly quiet as it was midweek. When we arrived, it was noticeably very busy with only a single space left in the car park and in theory it is a very small car park. We made our way inside and bought some drinks while waiting for our table as we’d arrived early and sat in the bar area. There was football on and the owner(?) apologised for the loudness and bustle of the pub and explained that it had been far busier than he or the staff had expected that day hence the time it took to be served. We were then shown into the restaurant/dining area when our table was available and we were seated next to 2 large tables of around 10 people. The table was so close, we genuinely felt like we were part of their group. I requested to move to a different table in the corner because it was so loud and way too close for comfort. After we moved tables and managed to settle, we were advised there was around a 45 minute to an hours wait on food. We agreed this was fine and didn’t mind waiting as we’d heard and seen so much good stuff about the pub. Closer to nearly 2 hours later, we finally received our food. After which point we weren’t hungry and simply wanted our money back. The owner was again apologetic and offered us 2 free pints of coke but all in all, a very disappointing experience and can’t help but feel like it’s very overhyped for what it is. The food was nothing special at all - maybe different if you’d been boozing all day and watching the football in the bar area beforehand. The chips were hard, tasteless and burnt and the fish was so oily and greasy. The “curry sauce” is also not a traditional chip shop style curry sauce, rather a tikka/Indian style sauce which doesn’t really go with a fish and chips platter, in my personal opinion. The pub itself is somewhat grungy, rundown and has a bad smell inside. I would definitely not come back here in a hurry. I appreciate that they are trying to revamp this pub to its former glory but there’s a lot that needs to be done in order for this to work.

The menu put me off but the food for all eleven of us was awesome 👌 The staff were very friendly, helpful and flexible to our needs. Highly recommended 👏🍻

Great family meal with 11 of us. Mix of food: sharing platters for the kids & adults, steaks, pie of the day... But everything had amazing flavour and all of us were in awe. Service was great so well done everyone 👍

Cold Carvery. Cold dining Area due to Fire Door open. Poor Slow Service clearing tables. Just a Try Out from our usual, will not return.

Great venue and atmosphere for live music, but so many people were vaping in there that night. I guess it’s down to individual establishments whether they allow this but even tho I am a smoker, this was quite off putting. Neither of the sinks in the ladies had working taps - both were taped off, not sure what was going on there but the hand sanitiser bottle wasn’t very clever either.

Just had the sharer burger box . Wow! Amazing. If you haven't tried it yet your missing out. Great value great taste. Couldn't comment on atmosphere in restaurant as we had takeaway but 5☆ all round from us

Decided to visit for a light bight at tea time last week after hearing great reviews. Ordered 2 grilled cheeses and loaded fries. After half an hour we asked how long they thought it might be as we were going to the cinema afterwards; was told they wasn’t sure. The food eventually arrived after another 40 minutes wait. The food was burnt and extremely underwhelming. We mentioned to the staff we had waited over an hour for two cheese toasties and burnt fries and all they said was sorry we’ve been backed up all night. Side note: there were only two other tables eating. No discount was offered and we missed our film at the cinema. Disappointed, would not recommend.

Heard good stuff about the New Beckwood and its food, i was not disappointed!! Beers over priced but damn the foods great!! And lovely friendly service!! Very much recommend

Was ok, fairly busy when we went at 1pm but it soon settled down around 2pm. Service was ok, the girl's behind the bar we're polite enough and obviously rushed at the time we went. Was expecting a bit more from the food though.

Excellent carvery at a reasonable price (£12) on Sunday lunchtime. Two generous slices from a choice of four very tender joints, plus the usual self-service vegetables. Rather lacking in atmosphere, hence only 4 stars.

Carvery excellent as always, we visit most Sundays and the service seems to be much better this year. Claire and Beth who are front of house are attentive and friendly great customer service every time. The food as always is fantastic and the best carvery I’ve experienced this far, can’t say enough good things about the staff and the Sunday food for 2023. 👍🏽

Pre ordered vegan Sunday dinner and was very impressed, the mediterranean tart was lovely and fresh veg was prepared separately which was by far the best I've had in Scunthorpe and surrounding areas in terms of effort and value for money. Delicious!

Attended on a Sunday for the carvery, the meat was tasty and well cooked, though the vegetables seemed to be some what under cooked. I would attend again without rushing back

Heard from friends this is a good pub so decided to have lunch. They weren't wrong. Pie mash and peas and the pie was stuffed with meat. Staff were friendly and I couldn't find fault..

First time I've been for a few years after reading good reviews. I wasn't disappointed the food is excellent.

As always the carvery here is 10/10 never misses a beat and the carver who is on every Sunday is excellent a friendly face with fast service. However, I advise going 15 mins before your slot as you can be queuing out the door for 15-20 mins before making it to the bar. The bar and the carvery section being next to one another isn’t ideal as it creates chaos and a lot of pushing and shoving. Also the new restaurant manager is very polite and approachable. But as far as food goes and the waitresses service it’s worth it 👍🏽

Went here about a year ago and ended up leaving a terrible review due to the chips being too salty and the gravy being like runny tomato ketchup. However, after being persuaded to go back and try again due to being under new management, we ended up having a really nice meal from the lunch time menu. Me and the hubby both had cheesey potato skins for starters, turkey and ham pie for mains which came with homemade chip and peas, then I had biscoff cheesecake and he had chocolate fudge cake. Safe to say we were both happily stuffed! We will deffo be going back to try more of their dishes, and their Sunday carvery as this seems to be very popular! The new manager was very polite and chatty, hoping to turn the pubs reputation around. He asked for our feedback and seemed to appreciate any suggestions!

Service was very slow and poor. Had to chase up staff to order and for food. Then the food was over cooked. There were only 3 tables for food so it was not busy. Won't be back.

Waited almost 2 hours for food, ordered 2 steaks, one medium and the other medium rare. Both weren't cooked; one was basically frozen. Mayo was also warm so tasted off. Never coming back again.

First time we had been and took a bit of finding. The pub looks like a typical estate pub from outside but inside was very modern and contemporary . Not many in for food, just us I think because it was not quite 3pm. Staff friendly. Good selection on menu but I wanted burger my wife had gammon. Food came and looked great. Not a fan of not being served on a plate but looked really presentable. Wasn't offered any condiments but managed without. Both meals were very tasty though. I had Beckwood burger, my wife had gammon. All came to £28 with a Coors. Well worth the visit. If in the area again I would call in. Looks like a very good Sports bar too so would think it is generslly very busy.

Recent refurb, friendly staff and reasonably price good quality food. Bitter choice is poor and when we visited they had run out completely. A couple of craft guest bitters would be a good addition at the bar.

Wow…went to the new Beckwood last night to celebrate our granddaughters exam results, party of five, have to admit the service was spot on…five different meals all cooked to perfection I have to say …and the barman never let the team down …made sure our drinks were topped up and we never had to leave the table, the young man is a credit to the New Beckwood…..will be popping again and highly recommend to family and friends……even those that don’t know me also 100% top notch……

Just been for a drink and snack with our dog. Unfortunately she was attacked by 2 dogs not on a lead, left unattended whilst the owner visited the bar, very distressing. The landlord wasn't bothered. Please be aware if visiting with your friendly dog.

just back from a sunday carvery and got to admit it was worth paying for Me and the wife have been here a few times now on a Sunday dinner/teatime and always come away "full" and content with the nicely prepared home cooked food on offer..there is a pudding choice but we are always too full to have one..defo worth going if you haven't been before..will we be returning again..yum yum "Yes"🙂👍

Visited the New Beckwood for the first time today and had an absolutely delicious Sunday carvery. Have to say, its one of the best I've ever had. Staff all super, friendly and attentive, a real little gem of place. Can highly recommend and will definitely be going back every Sunday I can!

First visit to the Beckwood since it changed hands. The waitresses are young and seem inexperienced. It was a busy New Year's Day service, but our order got messed around with several times which was frustrating. The food though was very good.

We have just had a family get together meal at The Beckwood 13 of us in total. The food was cooked to perfection, was very tasty & very reasonably priced. Also excellent staff service with the young waitresses being very helpful & polite.

Not great! The service was slow and the portions were tiny! The quality of the food was good but, for the price charged, the portion size was too small. I don't mind paying for good food but £10 for a 3" square steak and ale pie is ridiculous. Regardless of how many chips you get. The food was served out of turn and the wait for both the food to arrive and for the order to be taken was too long (we had to go and find a member of staff to order). This is a great shame as this pub used to be excellent for food but it has clearly gone downhill!

Met by lovely waiting and bar staff, very helpful and engaging. Had a Sunday carvery the server was most pleasant and served generous portions of meat. Garlic and Rosemary crispy roast potatoes, roast carrots and parsnips a choice of vegan/gluten free gravy or, meaty jus to smother your dinner with. Vegetables were al-dente not mush like you would ordinarily find in a carvery. The decor may be off putting from the outside but the food and staff makes this a 4 star. Googled gluten free restaurants Scunthorpe for a quick bite to eat on a Sunday whilst out shopping, called ahead, the response was quiet but getting busy, so we set off, the exterior is austere , but inside warm and welcoming, staff are very helpful, very happy with the Sunday lunch, garlic in with the roast potatoes(yum) roast carrots and parsnips broccoli was cooked beautifully, thank you to all the staff for making us welcome.

I’m not one to complain unless I have a valid reason. We used to visit the beckwood every Sunday when the previous owners ran it and the Sunday dinners were amazing, best in Scunthorpe. Buttery mash, crispy roasties, perfectly cooked meet, meaty gravy etc etc the list goes on and great service from staff very friendly and welcoming It is nothing like this anymore I came today for takeaway sunday carvery… watery mash, rock solid parsnips, meat was ok, cauliflower cheese tasted strange, gravy was very watery also ordered a dessert and the pouring cream was missing. £25 wasted, certainly no intentions of returning for such poor quality I can’t comment on the staff/service as I say we took away.

I thought it was a social type club but don't be fooled by the exterior, inside is lovely, clean and fresh. Food was absolutely amazing and staff were really nice. Portions were huge though and we couldn't finish it all which was a shame but still, it was beautiful.

It was the worst meal I have ever had! Chips were very dark and dry, chips had salt on them and they were very salty. My pie was not nice, little burnt on the top. Mayonnaise was looking like it was not in the fridge for weeks. I was very disappointed especially that we went out to eat something to celebrate our anniversary☹

I just wanted to offer some feedback.We was there on sundayvto enjoy a family 18th birthday.No one was told it was just a small carvery meal and You never told anyone you catered at all for toddlers.The waitress in the black t shirt with yellow writing came up and asked us what we wanted. Our response was well we've not seen a menu yet. To he reply, we'll it's just carvery.I then asked about kids menu my 3 year old won't touch much of a carvery only roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Waitress said well there's nothing he can have just a carvery or crisps!!!My little boy sat there with no dinner whatsoever due to the fact you just done a carvery. When we asked if there was anything my son could eat, one of your waitresses said there's a bag of crisps.My son is 3!! The same waitress then came over and asked two family members if the wanted the oap carvery, really rude how she asked and said well its smaller and cheaper!! Really offended my mum in law!We asked 3 times for a small plate of just a few roast potatoes for my son which seemed liked a major issue to two of your waitresses. Then it finally come.. Full of rosemary twigs and extremely hot fat, that plate was loaded with them, not a toddler portion at all. Forgot tomato sauce, we asked 4 times.I asked for roast beef and turkey ended up with pork and beef. Pork was full of fat and was just dreadful.Broccoli and cauliflowers were stone cold and twigs were in the gravy.... Yorkshire puddings burnt! Again my toddler couldn't eat the Yorkshire pudding as was rock hard and burnt.Two pints of cider were in glasses smothered by lipstick which wasn't ours. In a current pandemic, you'd think you should be washing your glasses properly. We didn't complain due to it being a family function. But seriously, I think you should look at Catering for toddlers aswell as adults!! Disgusting my son sat there with no food!! £77 for 4 carvery 2 of which was oaps meals and 1 round of drinks. Shocking!!!Definitely would not recommend coming here. We have a work function about to be booked which we have now changed to somewhere else as this wasn't enjoyable at all.

Use to Enjoy the food here but this was our first visit under the new management.The Carvery was not very nice. I would not recommend visiting her to anyone. The beef was very fatty and grisley. Mash had a tangy taste to it, Stuffing ball rock hard, Yorshires burnt, gravy not beef but a fruity strange taste with bits in it which was awful. When we sat down we was not even offerd a menu to see what the carvery was or prices. Children charged same as Adult. Waiting staff very rude and have no manners. One asked if our food was ok and we told her no it was the worst carvery. She smirked and said nothing! We had different waitress for drink and bill and neither had manners. People were arriving and been seated on tables that hadn't been cleaned. All adult staff were apparently excempt from wearing masks. It was the Managers that also thought in covid conditions it would be fine to seat people at tables tjat had not been washed. Poor quality food, Poor hygeine, Poor Service. It is a shame as the old beckwood did great food and staff then was all lovely. I wont be returning again.

Great food! Amazing staff, very friendly and welcoming. Edited: me and my family revisited on two occasions since opening inside. We sat down for a meal in the restaurant area and it was lovely, the food was delicious and the timing was perfect, It didnt feel like we waited at all really. Also very well spaced. The second time I visited was in the bar. Great atmosphere. Pool table, darts board and live sports, up to two channels at a time, 4 small screens and 1 big. The landlord has told me there is 2 more screens in the beer garden, I did not venture out as for the weather conditions. Highly recommend a visit for yourselves.

Bar staff were delightful & friendly, 2 guys on the door were rude and ignorant, 3rd guy on the door was lovely showing people to seats. Sorry to say food was cold & over nuked.
