Delicious Sunday lunch at this lovely country pub! Beef was delicious, vegetables were perfectly al-dente, roast potatoes to die for, lovely sized Yorkshire pud (light as a feather), creamy delicious mash and crispy stuffing , all topped off with thick, tasty gravy. Proper food in a lovely environment. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited here yesterday to meet with family and friends on our friends recommendation and it didn't disappoint. We had an early booking for an evening meal as we have children in our party. We were offered drinks initially then seated at our table. The menu wasn't huge but was varied and offered something for everyone. Three of our party had the carvery which they were all complimentary about. I had the gammon steak which was absolutely delicious and very generous. The waitress was very nice and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I can't comment on the desserts as we were too full to eat anything else. The restaurant was nicely decorated and clean and tidy though could have done with some windows open as it was quite warm. Wod visit again if we were ever in the area.

My wife and I decided we deserved a Saturday night meal out and as we had visited here well before the pandemic and enjoyed the experience we booked a table. We arrived on time and after getting a drink at the bar within minutes we were shown to our table. Our waitress was very helpful particularly with the choice of red wine. Unfortunately there was no current wine list to peruse but our very own wine tasting of two reds resolved the problem. Apparently their carvery was on but we both decided to order mixed grills from the menu after soup and garlic mushrooms for starters. It would have been rude not to so we both finished with a sweet and coffee. The restaurant was by no means full but there were a steady flow of diners during our time there. It is fair to say that we both enjoyed our evening meal at this venue and we will return in the future.

So very disappointed. We booked for a party of six people and arrived 15 minutes before the time we booked for, so expected a wait, but we waited an hour and a half past our booking time to be seated. Nobody came to see us to apologise or update us on our wait - we had to ask what was going on. We appreciate it is difficult when it's busy, but an hour and a half is not acceptable. Three of our party had travelled from Hull, including our 90 year old mum. We left and went elsewhere.

Visited for a Sunday dinner, when we arrived nobody greeted us at the door we had to get the attention of a bar maid. We got drinks fairly quickly and was asked what meat we wanted - our plates were brought out with meat and a Yorkshire pudding and a slice of stuffing on then we were to go up and get our own veg and gravy. There was a choice of 4 veg but all over cooked, luke warm and swimming in the water so not appealing at all. Few potatoes left in the tray which I presumed were roast potatoes but actually tasted fried, a large barrel of gravy. To be honest the gravy and the Yorkshire pudding was the best part (not homemade which is fine) but the meat was clearly kept warm or reheated, the veg was not fresh. The stuffing was just a wet stodgy slice which really was not nice to eat. The carvery was cheap so maybe we were expecting too much?! The staff were friendly but didn’t check once how our meals were. The most surprising thing of all were the toilets. The men’s toilet actually had black mould on the walls, so unclean and had a really bad smell, I get toilets aren’t the nicest of places especially in public places but this was unhygienic and clearly neglected. With just a few easy changes could make the whole carvery and place a million times better. Sadly will not be returning.

Wow haven't been for a meal here in over two years I was so excited to have one of there lovely carverys ...........WOW WAS I DISAPOINTED all there meat is precut and warmed up in a microwave which makes the meat so dry and chewy...... frozen Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes.... also the carrots was either chewy or very very under cooked!!! What was most enjoyable was the gravy!!! First time in two years and won't be back for years to come....

16/8/20. Booked a table for 3 after a recommendation. Ordered 3 identical beef Sunday roasts, one came with no roast potatoes and the veg was sparse however what we solid have was lovely. We then waited 30 mins after finishing our meal (whilst the waitresses attended other tables but seemed to ignore ours) and I had to go find one (around the corner talking in a group) so we could order deserts. We weren’t asked if we required anymore drinks (we would have done) or if we enjoyed our meal at the end. Seems to be staffed by young kids who don’t care less, and have little or no communication skills to the point of rudeness. Based on this first and last experience we won’t hurry back. Such a shame could have been really good.

Went with my mother, aunt & uncle. Had pre-booked, as my uncle knew they would be busy 4 meats on offer - beef, pork, ham and chicken (2 if you don’t eat pork). Asked the waitress whether it was possible to have 50/50 beef and chicken to be told no, chicken can’t be eaten with anything else Then she asked whether I wanted a seniors portion of lunch. Not really the thing to ask a forty-something! despite me dining with older family members The plates of meat arrived and we helped ourselves to a lovely choice of vegetables. The meat was delicious- the beef fell apart as we cut into it - so tender. Couldn’t comment on the other meats as mixing wasn’t permitted. Mum opted for jam roly poly and said it was gorgeous, as was the lemon meringue All in all an enjoyable visit. Super food but a little customers facing training needed

We arrived a few minutes early and were told to get our drinks and wait in the bar to be called, we were called exactly on time and then had to wait 10 minutes to give our order for carvery meat and then another 15 minutes to get our meat. The broccoli was so over cooked it was bordering on yellow, watery cabbage, very soft cauliflower, and stuffing so claggy you could have used it as glue! The veg area was quite gloomy and although we had been told the Yorkshire puds were as light as a feather, this wasn’t the case. It was passable until I found a hair in my Yorkshire, I didn’t complain as the staff weren’t very friendly and we had waited a long time for our meal, but it was very off putting. We won’t be going back.

We have been coming here for meals and family parties for so many years. I know the food will be great, as it consistently is, and is always a special place to us to enjoy either a family party or even a last minute Sunday lunch request when we know the restaurant will be busy. Thanks to Julie and all her staff we have enjoyed some great family get together soon here. Last night was no exception. Our party of 16 people enjoyed another family celebration. Because of the large number of people we were advised to pre order from the menu. We were shown to our table at the time I booked for and within a few minutes the 'starters' were being served. The main courses were all delivered at the same time and enjoyed by all. Thank you to all the staff for another great evening and for catering for so many and the food being enjoyed by all.

it was definitely not a carvery time we went so we had ordinary menu and were sat in a corner as not booked in.The food must have been okay because I am fussy but to tell the truth I can hardly remember what we had to eat. Being put into a corner could have been miserable but it was fine...food must have been gastropub type but I ate it no problems. Seem to remember many different staff rushing around serving food and drink on the run. Remember bill was reasonable too...daughter had no complaints .So I can report that the food and service was okay, menu pretty standard, so yes I would go again....sometime! The carvery plates were all very full! maybe I missed the best!I have given four stars because it was so unremarkable a standard ok meal, value for money obviously...I would've remembered that! that it would be churlish as they delivered the expected.

After ordering we waited for another 50 minutes for our food to arrive, again it wasnt even that busy at the time. Staff seemed uninterested and didnt talk to us about the long wait time at all. The portion sizes were fantastic, however the food itself was average at best. Given everything Ive read about this place I am suprised how dissapointing it was. WIll not be returning Im afraid.

Lunch out today at Ingleby Arms. Three course for 11 pounds. Had a plate of pate which was scrummy, large portion too, next came Carvery....yes on a Saturday lunch, choice of beef, steak pie, ham, chicken, huge Yorkshire pud and all the veg you can eat, the beef just melted in the mouth, then pudding.....lemon sponge with custard, but also choice of cheesecake or fudge cake or meringue or rolypoly or ice cream ....usually the rating would be ‘well worth the money’ but we would have paid more and been very happy. Give this a go, you won’t be disappointed, the staff were lovely and friendly and really made us welcome so thank you see you again soon.

Went for lunch on Saturday as we were in the area and I’d read the very favourable reviews. I was expecting a little old fashioned pub with rustic interior, and was slightly disappointed not to find this. We were given menus and shown to window seats in the spacious and attractive conservatory. Outside there was a large garden, with lots of outdoor seating and children’s play equipment, plus plenty of parking spaces. We decided on the two course lunch, priced at only £8.50. I don’t think this menu changes from day to day, but it offered a fair choice for each course. My partner had the carvery - roast beef and Yorkshire pud - and i had the vegetarian option, (yes there was only one) a tomato and mozzarella pasta bake. Both were very good. There was a decent selection of vegetables, which we both enjoyed and plenty of desserts to choose from as well. All in all a good meal offering excellent value served by smart, efficient and pleasant staff in comfortable and attractive surroundings. If I lived close by i’d be tempted to visit very regularly for lunch but would like to see some choice for veggies, as like everyone else, we don’t want to have the same meal each time we eat out, no matter how good it may be. One veggie dish on the specials board changing weekly would be a great idea and perhaps encourage the likes of me to visit more.

We went last Saturday evening & it was obvious there was a serious under staffing issue. I ordered a chicken burger which took 40 minutes to arrive. The bread was so hard I had to use a steak knife to saw through it! When I tried to put my fork into the chicken it was so tough & dry it shot off the plate! The waitress was very apologetic & offered me the choice of a replacement meal or a free desert. We are a couple and we turned up at 12.30 without booking a table. It was extremely busy, which told us straight away it must be good food. We were told we would have to wait half an hour for a table but we didn't mind, so we had a drink in the cosy bar area. When we were seated we asked a member of staff how it worked as we had never been before. She explained this to us and said she wouldn't be long before coming back to take our order. They only do the carvery on a Sunday and it is so popular why would they need to do anything else. They cut your choice of meat (or pie if preferred) in the kitchen and bring it to you on your plate and then you go help yourself to veg and potatoes including mash. There is a sign on the table asking you not to overfill your plate to reduce food waste, but also to say if you want you can revisit the veg and potatoes for more. The mash had run out while we were getting ours so we asked if more was coming and they said they would bring some to our table. Excellent all round service and food. Highly recommended.

Will definitely be going back. Did not know what to expect as this was our first visit. Car park pretty much full on arrival, always a good sign. Had drinks in the smallish bar then shown through to a nice dining area. The Sunday Lunch menu is pretty basic. Starters include usual suspects such as prawn cocktail and pate plus a couple of odd throwbacks in time, fruit juice and egg mayonnaise. We opted for the prawn cocktail and the pate, both were very good. Nice to be able to say that there was plenty of toast with the pate, most places just do not include enough. The main courses were either steak pie, roast beef, roast pork, chicken breast or roast ham. We had the beef and pork. This comes plated from the kitchen with Yorkshire Pudding and you self serve from a good selection of veg and potatoes at the hot buffet. The meat was tasty and tender and the veg and potatoes nicely cooked. Good to see peas available! (The mashed potato was a little bland to be honest). Considering the limited starter and main course options the dessert menu was quite extensive. We had the jam roly poly (delicious) and a toffee ice cream sundae, (okay). Total bill approx. £33, very reasonable. Apart from a couple of small gripes as mentioned (plus the Yorkshires were hard and overcooked) we had a lovely meal. All in all a real find and we will be returning on a regular basis.

Thought we would pop in on a Sunday in August about 12 noon for a table of 2, we where greeted and asked how long we would be waiting for lunch as there where a few people waiting for a table, the bar staff confirmed a short wait so we ordered drinks, 45 minutes later after a number of people had been seated, I went to question if they had forgot us and how much longer we would have to wait for a table, the waiting staff had a look round not very helpful at all and told us we would be waiting another further 45 minutes for a table..... I was furious as we where not from that area, we we not prepared to wait round any longer.....it's only a Sunday lunch and it's not a Michelin star restaurant!!!! If your just driving by don't bother stopping as you will be disappointed and waiting a very long time for a table!!!!! There seems to be no management about just a lot of inexperienced staff!!!!

We didn't book but after getting a drink we were able to go to our table. We had the carvery which was ready quickly. They bring the meat and Yorkshire pudding to you and then you go help yourself to the trimmings. Nice food and worth a try.

Heard good reviews so decided to give it a go. So glad we did, I can't believe it's taken us so long to visit. By far the best Sunday Dinner in the area. Friendly staff and the beef was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be booking in again.

Just been for our Sunday dinner and what a delight! We had a choice between pork, beef, ham, chicken, sausages or steak pie. We had pork and our son had sausage. Two thick, juicy slices of meat and three good size sausages with a large handmade yorkie. Lots of choice on home cooked veg and the best stuffing ever. The staff were all friendly and polite and we only waited 5 mins for our table even though they were really busy! The best Sunday dinner I've had in ages. Will definitely return.

We booked the table well in advance and arrived 10 mins before and had to wait 20 mins after our booked time to get our table yet there was tables for 4 available. We were repeatedly ignored by the waitresses walking past either setting tables or clearing tables. We had to ask for someone to take our order then we had to ask for the next course and when mine came I thought it was a child's portion and asked if it was but was assured it was an adult serving and I had 3 pieces of beef it was mainly pastry. To add salt to the wound we waited another 16 minutes for desert and when it came they charged us for 5 deserts when only two ordered desert to go. The restaurant was not busy and outside was not busy either. Unfortunately we were Very disappointed with the service and my dinner.

We've visited the Ingleby Arms on three occasions now and enjoyed the lunch time Carvery on each visit. The regular menu looks excellent, but the specials, including the Carvery, are very tempting indeed. We learned about this restaurant through our previous trips to Broughton Craggs, it's sister hotel in the Lake District. The owner, Julie, and her team do a great job, providing personal friendly service with quality freshly prepared food. Their Carvery has plenty of meat choices (the roast beef is to die for!) and the buffet style vegetables are cooked to perfection. Starter and sweet choices are first class and round the meal off beautifully.Amcotts may be a bit out in the country, but you won't be disappointed. It's well worth the effort making the trip to this lovely country pub and truly excellent value for money.

I've just got back from a family meal at the Ingleby arms and what a wonderful meal it was. I selected the ham carvery and can honestly say it was the most tender ham I've eaten out for a very long time. There was a good selection of vegetables all of which were nicely cooked. My sister had the beef carvery and that too was really tender. I don't know if it's the quality of the meat or the way that it was cooked but either way it was just perfect.

we decided on this place to eat as it came up with good reviews ! never again .. the beer was good but that's about it,the place was more or less empty maybe around 8 eating, still our waiting time was over an hour,i had the meat pie and my friend had mixed grill which was ok but not brilliant ,my meat pie was awful i felt a large sharp object in my mouth full of pie i spat out what it was ,there was a large shard of bone ,terrible to say the least, and lots of fat in there ,never again . thank god it was towards the end of the meal . the staff were ignorant and not bothered about asking if we were ok,they was just joking amongst them self's,we just left ,didn't complain as would of been a waste of time ,will never go again !!

Went to Ingleby Arms for Sunday lunch, as never been before, and went on a recommendation. Had to book as it's reputation means it gets rather busy at lunchtimes. Went as a party of 4 adults and 2 kids under 6. Drinks at normal pub prices, and plenty of room at the bar and quick service. Shown to reserved table with menu cards already on table which was a great idea, saves having to wait for menus to arrive. A good selection of "Specials of the day" but as it was Sunday we all had the the standard carvery roasts. 1 of the group even had a mix of 2 different meats, another good idea. So, the meals arrived with the meats, Yorkshire pudding (we all wanted yorkies) and gravy, and then we took them to the side table for the vegetables and potatoes etc. A good selection of veg; cabbage, peas, carrots and swede, with both roast and mashed potato. Extras included sage & onion stuffing and a large pot of piping hot gravy, not your powdered sort but thick and tasty, almost good enough to drink as a soup!! With 2 adult staters, 4 adult and 2 children's main meals, and 2 sweets, the total for everything was just over £50:00. An absolute bargain. The grounds of the pud had various slides, climbing frames, walkways and rotating things that the kids loved, all with a good soft landing areas in case of falling over. All in all, a great meal, great pub, with a great atmosphere. Thouroughly recommended, especially for a family meal out.

Having not booked, we waited approx 40 minutes for a table for four. No issue for us as our children 12 & 8 played in the small, but adequate, play park in the grounds of the pub. Well worth the wait. Food was great, quite possibly the best carvery we've had. Service was good, but seemed rushed which wasn't surprising seeing the constant amount of folk that kept coming in, understandably popular. Highly recommend.

Had a table booked here today for a carvery. Unfortunately due to most roads in scunthorpe being closed for the 'marathon', we were late to our table however, I informed the restaurant of our ETA and was told this was fine. Arrived to quite a chaotic bar area, customers all over, some waiting to be served, some just in the way but with respect to them, there were so many people squeezed in to a tiny bar area there was nowhere for anybody to go! I ordered drinks and asked the bar man how the carvery process works. We were told to find a waitress and give our names. We found a waitress and told her our names and she took us to a table, she pointed at the table and before we even got to the table she had vanished. No instructions to how we were to order or anything, she just left without saying a word. Luckily there were menus on the table. We all chose our meats and sat waiting at the table, not knowing if we should go up and order or if there was table service? After about 15/20 minutes the waitress came back and took our order. I asked for my meat to not come out with Gravy on it but for the gravy to be in a gravy boat to which she replied "you can put your own gravy on at the carvery" I said I wanted it in a boat because I didn't like it all over my meal and she just replied "ok" and she then said "menus please" and walked off. All 3 of us looked at each other and we're quite appalled at how rude she was on the 2 occasions we had spoken to her. We all said based on the customer service so far we probably wouldn't return again. Extremely long wait for the meat to arrive. At least 20+ minutes before arriving. The beef was delicious, the cauliflower cheese was dry and bland, the stuffing was like wallpaper paste and there was no chicken gravy???? If you had chicken then you had to have beef gravy? I didn't really understand this. The Yorkshire puddings looked rather impressive but we're semi burnt and as dry as a bone. The carrots and roast potatoes were nice. We never received a table check to ask how the meal was. The blonde lady who took our plates away was lovely. Shame the lady (think supervisor/manager?) with the dark hair lacked in customer service. We probably won't return.

Popped in here on an ad-hoc detour to get something to eat & drink (5pm ish). Building looked like an old fashioned type of place and advertised food outside the front door. Parking in the old stable courtyard around the back. Tight bar, low ceilings but offered good ales. The chef spotted as and told us that if we wanted food, Stew and Dumplings were fresh and a special of the day. Very much a locals pub, bar flies were friendly, TV on with no sound (News) and best of all. NO MUSIC and could have a conversion without shouting over any noise. Grub was bang on (Stew, dumplings, mash and veg) and a massive portion. £8 quid. Mrs. had Scampi, a mountain of chips and a lorry load of peas which she said was really good. Also £8 quid. Great pub, great grub, well poured beer and nice welcome surroundings. Rough and ready, no frills good honest place.

A busy place for golfers in a great location. Lots of parking in a spacious car park. Accessible for everyone. The club house is fantastic with food and drink available for those who want it, including friendly staff members. Fantastic views of the course from the club house. Looking forward to my next visit.

The phone number is defunct and the venue is completely shut despite it being in the middle of their published hours. I suspect that it has closed down.

A little disappointed really, service was really good, but the food average - ordered the chicken kebab which was just okay, not brilliant. But the most disappointing aspect was ordering our dessert, but as we were after 9pm the kitchen had closed. We were late diners, arrived at 8.15 but when we ordered our main we mention we would like a dessert so when we were faced ordering and told, sorry the kitchen is now closed, we were left very disappointed indeed - not good really as the staff should have really come to us, but didn't. Ho hum - we dined out the second evening, great meal locally, far superior food and service.

Drinks and service good One vegan option which is ‘Korean tacos’ - note they are not tacos they are deconstructed. No real substance that would be worth £20! Not worth it for the vegan options but drinks and service good.
