Touchdown Bar and Grill in North Lincolnshire

A little disappointed really, service was really good, but the food average - ordered the chicken kebab which was just okay, not brilliant. But the most disappointing aspect was ordering our dessert, but as we were after 9pm the kitchen had closed. We were late diners, arrived at 8.15 but when we ordered our main we mention we would like a dessert so when we were faced ordering and told, sorry the kitchen is now closed, we were left very disappointed indeed - not good really as the staff should have really come to us, but didn't. Ho hum - we dined out the second evening, great meal locally, far superior food and service.

We were staying at the attached Hampton, so it was quite convenient to eat dinner at the Touchdown Bar and Grill. There were plenty of tables available and no wait to be seated. Our server Agnes was super friendly, very nice and full of helpful information. There was even another restaurant patron that overheard us talking to Agnes and she stopped by our table to give us some sightseeing tips. What a delight. I had the margarita pizza, which was enough for 2 people. My husband had the peri peri kabob sandwich and fries. Both choices were delicious. We encountered a bit of a language barrier when I asked if they had Sprite. Sprite is a lemon-lime flavored soda in the US. Agnes said Yes, they had Lemonade. I said No, not lemonade, I would like Sprite. She said Yes, we have Lemonade. It made for some laughs. Learn from me - if you are from the US and you want a lemon-lime soda (which we call Sprite), they appear to call it lemonade in the UK. I have no idea what they actually call lemonade (water, lemon juice and sugar) in the UK. All in good fun. LOL. We had a nice meal and a good conversation with Agnes. Highly recommended.

Restaurant attached to the Hamilton by Hilton hotel so very convenient location. Advised to book when checking-in so turned up on time. It seemed the only 2 staff front of house were flustered and took nearly 5 minutes to acknowledge I was there. I was shown to the table and ordered a drink, then asked immediately if I was ready to order food without seeing a menu, I asked for a couple of minutes. Within 90 seconds I was asked by the other member of staff if I was ready to order, asked for a couple of minutes. Then waited 40 minutes before I saw anyone again. Ordered a steak which was nice but at £27 for (a small) 10oz rib eye was over priced. Food ok, but more staff required.

As a 'mature student' (having travelled globally for over 35 years) - I would like to express my gratitude for the professional approach and service from Agnes and Vikki over the past 12 months - service with a smile, exceptional ability to manage expectations and by the way - great food at a good price. The girls exemplify that adage "your employees are your greatest asset." Looking forward to another year of good food with great service. Thank you! Glenn

Lovely restaurant attached to the Hampton by Hilton Humberside Airport. Nothing was too much trouble for Agnes and Nikki. Looked after our whole party with a smile and friendly chat about the local area.

I visited touchdown while staying at Nightel hotel. Had a burger and it was lovely. staff were all very nice. Would highly recommend! John W

This is a lovely looking space well spaced out and a clean modern environment… unfortunately it was not open on our arrival to the hotel and it was explained that it was only open to provide a small bar snack menu at the weekends to hotel guests … as nobody was in the bar area at all and the lights appeared “dimmed” we did not fancy eating alone in a vast open space like that! So we drove and ate elsewhere that evening! The breakfast is served in this Touchdown restaurant area and that was a better experience… Light, bright and cheerful Plenty of TV screens too so you won’t miss the news!

Not our first time & certainly will not be our last, the excellent food is complemented more so by the exemplary service we received once again from Agnes & Lucas, TheIr attentiveness along with their happy disposition in ensuring that their diners needs are met are second to none. On this occasion we had steaks that were cooked to perfection along with pizza, that was so good it was if it had been produced by one of the finest Italian chefs. So thank you for a nice experience again especially in those COVID restrictive times. look forward to returning.

Was very anxious as this was the first time out since February. I needn't have worried - everything was very clear, and Covid safe. The staff were lovely and friendly, and service was fast and efficient. Lucas served us, and made us feel very comfortable.The food was amazing, especially the beetroot and quinoa burger stack - will be back for another one soon!

Well what a visit! Lucas and Agnes were amazing and made me feel safe with all their covid steps in place and food was yummy.we had fish and chips, it was good but not as good as the original fish I’ve had here. Rate here 20/10 love touchdown bar and grill. 1 word of advise to the young lady with brown hair (Liz I believe) please learn to smile and don’t have such an attitude and keep voice down when shouting at other staff!!!!

Thoroughly improved with the quality of food and service provided ! Special mention to Lucas who was extremely helpful and friendly especially suiting to our specific food requirements ! Highly recommend, very nice setting as well !

I use this hotel regularly to host business meetings & workshops, even though it’s over 90 minutes from hone. Why? Because the service is excellent in the bar & restaurant. And when you stay away from hone, it’s nice to feel welcomed & appreciated. Lucas deserves a special mention for always having a smile & a glass of wine ready when I need it 😊

We visited Touchdown Bar and Grill for my birthday. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and welcoming. I liked that the menu was quite simple and didn't have pages and pages to choose from but some really simple, hearty meals.

Really pleased this bar and grill is open again. A very good menu selection at reasonable prices. Very friendly helpful staff. The calamari with a twist was great.
