Ashby Decoy Golf Club in North Lincolnshire

Please don't ever have a buffet which includes gluten free. They think your vegan and don't get me started on the disabled facilities. I'm wheelchair users, the ramp to the side of the building was good. Once your in the building that's a different matter two doors you have to get through which you would need assistance which takes your independence away from you. I wouldn't use this venue again plus the staff don't care about the situation

Attended a community meeting today, the room allocated was very cold with a tiny plug in heater (which kept turning off), and the buffet lunch was placed on a raised area in the same room as another function. Wheelchair users couldn't get to our food as the raised area only had steps to it. Very unprofessional to double book a function room and squeeze a community meeting into a different room, it didn't help that wheelchair access to the function room was through our meeting.

Booked for our community group meeting and then a buffet lunch. No heating in the room we were given. Food was mediocre and barely enough. Our wheelchair users couldn't access the food. Gluten free member given a VEGAN meal. Very, very poor customer service

We chose Ashby Decoy as the venue for Dad’s funeral refreshments because he had spent many happy hours there during his life. The team made it extremely easy to get everything sorted and in place and the caterer they use provided a delicious cold buffet lunch.

We recently held my fathers funeral wake at Ashby Decoy. Toni and the Team did Dad very proud and I cant thank them enough. It was a sad occasion but the setting was lovely, peaceful and a fitting location for our event. Many years ago myself and my father were members here so it was a very appropriate venue. The food was great, very tasty and plentiful for our party, they even provided some take away packaging for us to take some of the food away with us. I couldn't be happier with the venue and the staff and would highly recommend. Thank you Toni and the Team.

Having yet another superb Sunday lunch at the Ashby Golf Club I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend their venue and menu. Fabulous scenery to look out onto whilst enjoying a wonderfully prepared cooked meal served beautifully by well mannered and professional staff. Until next time

Don’t be put off by this being a golf club. The bar and restaurant are open to all and the staff and members are always welcoming. Great food especially Sunday lunch and breakfasts. We will be back soon.

Fabulous Sunday lunch from start to finish! Served promptly and professionally with a smile, our food was amazing. Starters delicious and the roast beef was melt in the mouth. Can’t comment on the deserts as we had no room. Beautiful setting over looking the golf course. Will be back, definitely!

From first arriving to view the premises I was impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. The venue with views over the course we’re just the ticket following the service. The buffet lunch was extremely good and again staff were all very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this venue being only a short distance from Woodlands crematorium as perfect for a wake.

Came for Sunday dinner the new menu is amazing so much to choose from and there also a Christmas menu to choose from.I had the turkey of the Christmas menu and its the best iv had comes with all.the trimmings and the deserts are amazing such a lovely and welcoming place to be with really lovely staff and amazing food would highly recommend to anyone fantastic place

Been a few times for my Sunday lunch food was good but all i could hear is the chef f&blinding at his staff the food good but its a shame he's so disrespectful to his staff because there so lovely

Delicious Sunday lunch, crisp roasts, mash, lovely meat & plenty of veg. Really friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. There's a lovely seating area outside so after our meal we sat & watched the golfers with a drink. Will definitely return as great value.

One of the best places for Sunday dinner around amazing quality for the price charged and huge huge plate full full if fresh meats mash Yorkshire puddings and the tastiest gravy ever the mini fish cakes and the blue cheese patta are amazing and the puddings the strawberry eaten mess is one of my favorite its well worth a visit the staff and the restraunt / bar its self is a lovely place definitely worth a trip down to try some proper fresh food

We had Sunday lunch here today and it was delicious and piping hot. We will definately return. My fussy daughter doesn't like roasts so the chef made her some lovely chicken breast nuggets. Think this will become a regular place to visit. Thank you.

Recently organised a wake buffet here which was excellent. Nice quality food, very fresh and tasty. Tony was very amenable and made some good suggestions for our buffet. The staff looked after us well too. Would certainly recommend it.

One of the best places in Scunthorpe for a really amazing Sunday dinner lovely bar staff and waitresses the food has so much flavor and can instantly tell its all fresh lovely place to come for your dinner good choice on bar menu and on Sunday lunch menu and its a great place for a venue beautiful views recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic meal

We as a family eat here most Sundays , the food and service is outstanding, all the food is freshly cooked and the choice across the menu is superb , would not consider going anywhere else

We held a small funeral reception here-very handy for Scunthorpe crematorium. The buffet was superb and very generous - all home cooked - sausage rolls, great variety of sandwiches, cheeses, scotch eggs etc. and scones with jam and cream. Unlimited teas and coffees. Lovely staff - nothing was too much trouble even to providing foil to take home leftovers (we all had long journeys afterwards!) I think for such a small party the price was too low (under £10 a head) so I think they should charge a little more for smaller parties as I can't believe they made a profit - we did leave a decent tip though! The room we used would comfortably hold about 25 people. Phone booking very easy - especially helpful as everything was planned from a distance. Definitely recommend.

Très bon rapport qualité/quantité/prix. Un plat complet pour £8. Plat + entrée ou dessert pour £12. La viande est délicieuse, et servie en quantité avec purée, pomme de terre grillées et légumes.Belle salle également.Nous sommes allés là-bas en famille le lendemain de notre mariage. Quelques bémols: 24 places de réservées au lieu de 32. On nous a amené des chaises supplémentaires, un peu fastidieux. Pas vraiment d'endroit pour les enfants. Rien en extérieur ou pas les bienvenus, il reste le parking devant. Pas facile pour des gamins de passer l'après-midi à table. Joueurs et personnel parfois un peu revêche.Je conseille fortement d'y aller...entre adultes.

New chef Tony! has taken over @ Ashby Decoy Golf Club the food is superb,everything is home made.The staff are lovely nothing is too much trouble for anyone.We go on a regular basis & love good food.Very affordable price,& just the right amount of choice so you know everything is cooked to order.Can't wait for our next visit.!!! Again used this venue for a funeral wake. it is under new catering staff since my last review. Tony was very helpful when booking explain what he would supply and a very reasonable cost per head. On the day the food was well presented, and of a high standard , in a pleasant atmosphere. I would defiantly recommend this venue. Thanks again Tony.

Lovely surroundings and lovely staff, the Sunday lunch is one of the best we have ever had, roast beef is a favourite of ours and Tony the chef always delivers on taste and quality. Would recommend to anyone.

The best sunday lunch around lamb scotch beef lincolnshire pork free range chicken cooked to perfection everything is home made and fresh and done to order . Sweets are to die for and the crumble with fresh custard 15 min cooking time well worth the wait freshly cooked. Very busy and its not supprising

Used venue for a wake after funeral. Very accommodating and professional service at a difficult time and at short notice. The buffet was of a very high standard superbly presented and nothing was to much trouble. Reasonably priced . A real nice venue thank you again. Would defiantly recomend.

Visited here for a family wedding in August, the food served was of high quality with a varied menu and plenty of it.Drinks are a little on the expensive side but usual for a wedding. The grounds are beautiful and look stunning on the wedding photographs.Apparently they also serve Sunday lunch to non golf club members so will visit again the next time in the area to try it out. Service was good, and the staff friendly.Would recommend as a wedding venue

Me and my partner went here as he was told about the place, absolutely great quality food, friendly staff and atmosphere, really enjoyed our meal would and we are going back again soon!

The food was delicious, piping hot and a varied menu to choose from. We visit here once a month and have never been disappointed. We have followed Shane around his different restaraunts for many years he is an excellent chef.

Without doubt, one of the best Sunday meals out there. Go on, treat yourself, and the family, you will not be disappointed!

We often visit here for Sunday lunch and are always welcomed with a warm greeting. Consistently Excellent food and a good choice. The staff are very friendly and accommodating every week. You need to book on a Sunday.

We have visited here twice now in the last two months, both times for Sunday Lunch. A wide selection on the menu, two selections of Roast Beef, one rare one well done. As I like rare beef this was a perfect choice for me. Nice to be offered a choice. The starters are good, again a good selection and tasty.The food is served quickly and hot. The staff were very friendly. We have enjoyed both visits and would recommend the venue. The surroundings are slightly old fashioned & sweets appear bought in. Would suggest a home made hot desert would be good. All minor points and certainly not enough to stop us going or recommending a visit

Our second visit and was not disappointed. One of the best meals we have had locally. Great value for money. Certainly a great asset to the golf club. A wide variety of menu's are available ie. We have visited Ashby Decoy Golf Club for lunch on a couple of occassions recently and have enjoyed top class food. Shane is a most talented chef, we always enjoyed his food in the past, and now that he has taken over the catering at the Golf Club, we hope to enjoy many more first class meals!!!We were a group of three, and we had prebooked a late lunch but our table was ready before the booked time so we were able to eat a little earlier. Top tip - book in advance, especially if you like to eat at a popular time!The staff are efficient and friendly, very professional and helpful and willing to join in our banter!!There was a good choice of menu with home made bread rolls served first. Starters included plaice goujons, chicken samosas, prawn and crayfish salad, and asparagus, bacon and tomatoes. Main courses included well done or rare beef, lamb, belly pork, and salmon. Roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding is served along with the meat, and a selection of fresh seasonal vegetables are served separately. Desserts are self service and we all chose Bailey's profiterole cake with cream - to die for !!!There is a full bar service, and golf club members, and social members get a discount on drinks, but non members are also very welcome
