Amazing Sunday lunch, fantastic food

Went for a meal before going to the theatre, and the food was beautiful.

After traipsing around Hull for a dog friendly pub I found this gem. It was quite busy for a Thursday lunchtime but my two well behaved dogs were more than welcomed. The barman got them some water and a dog biscuit each. I enjoyed a long cold Erdinger too. Would have stayed for more if I hadn’t wasted my time looking for such a pub. Nice place, good range of beers, friendly atmosphere and the staff more than helpful.

It seems the easy order online app is enforced more than people taking your order, I have asked twice if someone can take my food order in person and staff generally just tell you to use the app and walk off. I'm not known for using technology at the best of times, this being said I tried to order three sausages, three strips of bacon, three hash browns and a slice of black puddling! but my order came out with two sausages, two pieces of bacon swimming in fat, bubble and squeak and baked beans a slice of toast! I asked the young lad who brought the order and he kind of snapped at me. My partner told me to keep quiet and just eat what was in front of me, sadly hours later I was being sick and bring up the sausages I think they weren't cooked fully, and I don't think the toast was gluten free. was early meeting my friend, was welcomed by lovely friendly staff and directed me to an empty table! Should of booked as there wasn't many available. sat next to the cosy warm fire. Very popular place for a Tuesday evening. we ordered half a cider and large wine at the bar which was very well priced. We ordered our food at the bar and when it arrived it was super yummy. wasn't disappointed at all. Staff were super lovely. 100% will go again.

My husband and I visited the restaurant today hoping to have lunch with a view to making a future reservation for 16 people for a Birthday celebration. My husband and I stood in the reception area of the restaurant for 7 minutes waiting to be seated. It was clear that the staff knew that we were waiting as we were the only people awaiting a table but nobody even acknowledged our presence. Not surprisingly, given this level of poor service, the place was almost empty at lunchtime on a Bank Holiday. We walked out in disgust and made the reservation elsewhere which provided the kind of service that we are accustomed to. Shame on The Holiday Inn. This is the second shoddy experience I've had with the Holiday Inn and I've only been to two of them!!

Poor Breakfast £51 for veggie breakfast small breakfast sausage & egg Sandwich burger & chips 2 Tea's 1 small Orange juice 1 small apple juice Asked for scrambled egg got fried egg chopped up poor quality sausage poor quality Burger More than happy to pay more for quality produce this was any thing but .

This place can be wonderful .but it can also be average .the lobster is wonderful The steaks can be hit and miss .but I do keep returning

Fabulous chippy, great staff, very friendly. The fish fritters are brilliant as are the patties. Good value for money and very good portions, thanks to all.

Never disappoints. Cater well for my wife who is gluten intolerant. Friendly staff. Great food. Great coffee, fab salads, love the porridge and homemade granola.

Simply awesome pub. Even when quiet it's a great old boozer. Once busy it comes alive . Such good fun. Highly recommend.
