It seems the easy order online app is enforced more than people taking your order, I have asked twice if someone can take my food order in person and staff generally just tell you to use the app and walk off. I'm not known for using technology at the best of times, this being said I tried to order three sausages, three strips of bacon, three hash browns and a slice of black puddling! but my order came out with two sausages, two pieces of bacon swimming in fat, bubble and squeak and baked beans a slice of toast! I asked the young lad who brought the order and he kind of snapped at me. My partner told me to keep quiet and just eat what was in front of me, sadly hours later I was being sick and bring up the sausages I think they weren't cooked fully, and I don't think the toast was gluten free. Sadly they have lost of customer

Great food, Great coffee and service, always friendly and helpful and family friendly, we took the grand boys in for lunch on Sunday as we have done before when visiting the art gallery etc. Kids menu is available although I couldn't find on the paper menu but it is on the QR code app, and they swapped two of the chips for sweet potato fries with no bother at all. Finished off with ice creams and brownie. Always buy my coffee beans here too. Don't forget to use the QR code and the MC10 code to get ten per cent off the bill.

Ordered a full breakfast and bubble eggs. The breakfast came without the bubble and squeak, and the tomatoes were cold. The bubble eggs were ordered with crispy bacon and it wasn't (yet they managed crispy bacon on the breakfast even though it wasn't requested) and the bubble and squeak was cold. We ordered coke without ice and it arrived with. All this and it took around 55 minutes for the food to arrive. Just dissapointing

Our party of 7 had the most wonderful brunch on Sat 25th November. We all had different brunches and everyone, without exception, said it was delicious and that they would like a return visit. Morgan and the staff were extremely friendly and the service was very efficient even though the place was busy. Morgan was exemplary even when I accidentally destroyed the pepper grinder spilling peppercorns over my brunch! He very quickly replaced my meal and assured me it was not a problem! We are looking forward to a return visit and, without a doubt, it will become our go to brunch venue in Hull.

I've been to McCoys a number of times over the years, and I was disappointed to see not only the quality but the amount of food had gone down considerably. I ordered a sandwich for lunch and the bread was dry and there appeared to be half of it missing. It was a shame. I'm guessing probably down to a change of ownership. Moreover, while £9.50 for a sandwich might not be too unreasonable in London, in Hull it does seem somewhat exorbitant.

We ordered on the website by scanning the QR code and the drinks were brought to our table. We had a couple of iced coffees which were super refreshing and not too badly priced. I also had a cherry and juniper fruit juice in lemonade which was amazing! We didn't eat on this occasion but we will be back to eat as some of the food looked amazing.

The service was very polite, the order at table QR code was good and worked well. We were there at opening so food and drink arrived quite fast, all very nice! The only thing Id say, and I won’t even mark the stars down for something so small? The hollandaise on the eggs benny felt very ‘microwaved’ and solidified very rapidly. Saved by the fact that someone in that kitchen is the egg poaching champion, they were fantastic

I had scrambled eggs and mushroom as usual, which are always cooked so nicely and taste so good. You are asked if you would like butter on your toast and despite stating each time that I would, it is never is buttered. If you order anything on toast, it is never buttered so you have dry toasted bread and then try catching staff that are understandably busy for butter.

Was greeted by a staff member at the door, was handed A PHYSICAL food menu and told to sit anywhere (No designated social distanced tables)We sat down then we realised we had not been given drinks menus, I requested a physical drinks menu was told it's online (if the drinks menu is online why was I handed a physical food menu)(my partner is dyslexic and can not read the online menu)) There was no QR code so I had to enter the url (again not told this on entry after being handed a PHYSICAL food menu) was first told a URL that brought up a site for online whole seller, then told it was another URL that brought up DNS errors, after a Google I found the actual site, I still requested a physical menu for my partner and explained she's dyslexic only to be answered back by the same staff member that "it's in black and white" which shows little understanding and compassion towards people with accessibility needs.Overall my experience at this location as a result of said staff members behaviour and condescending attitude is why i left. I've visitied McCoy's since I was a teenager and I admit service can be hit and miss here this if the first I've had such a poor experience I've felt the need to escalate the matter.EDIT: Review edited to remove names by request of McCoys

I usually really enjoy McCoy’s! I absolutely adore the pasta dish but understandable that they have a limited menu at the moment! So I decided to go for a Brie and Bacon sandwich. The lady who served us I believe her name was Wendy was clearly very stressed out but it meant she was coming across very very rude not just to me but to other customers around me. As I was ordering my sandwich the chef came down and said no Brie, again no problem! But she quite sarcastically said “Well we have been busy today!” Again perfectly understandable with the eat in help out scheme! I asked for a goats cheese and bacon on a wholemeal baguette with no cranberry sauce. It came on a bloomer with cranberry sauce, I was kind of past the point and was scared to send it back due to the rudeness id encountered, I ate a little bit and then luckily my little lady was getting a bit restless and wanted home so I wouldn’t have been able to eat it anyway! I totally understand how busy they were must have been stressful and they’re doing so well keeping everyone safe, but manners and a smile cost nothing.

I visited with my 2 adult children for a light lunch, we all opted for Prawn sandwiches. Sadly there was more marie rose sauce than prawn, it was so soggy that the bread was really mushy and inedible. There was no check back and even when the waiter came to take our plates away he didn't ask if everything was ok, even though he could clearly see that our plates were practically full. Before he moved away I politely told him that we didn't eat the meals because there was too much sauce. I think he muttered sorry and walked away. Never again.

I had the best Burger I've had an a long long time. It was so tasty and you could tell it was make from high quality meat (It wasn't perfectly round like McDonalds!). Well, I can safely say that I will never ever put my foot in McCoy's again! It used to be a brilliant place, but it's surely going downhill. Got the lovely table upstairs, waited, waited, waited... finally a waiter shows up, ignores us completely and starts to clean the table next to us... So, we got up, and as it was too hot, decided to go and sit outside... Lady comes and clears the table, with obvious lack of intention to wipe it... so I go and ask her to do it.... Tables are swarming with pigions (might as well be rats), every time somebody leaves, pigeons jump at the table and have a feast... (so glad I asked for that table to be wiped!!!). In the end my jacket potato arrives,LOOKING good... tasting awful! Inside is brown, god know how old it is, slimy, horrible, not fit even for the pigions. Hubbie's chilli chicken in flatbread (plus stone cold chips) is actually frozen breaded chicken gujons (. £1.50 for the bag, Aldi) covered in sweet chilli sauce,on the bed of wilted radicchio leaves... So, no, never again

McCoys is a busy restaurant and so we were not surprised to wait for a table. Once seated, we were told to ignore the sign to order at the till, but it seems the waiter forgot that instruction. Simple things like cutlery being brought with the meal, or clearing away used glasses seemed beyond the waiting staff. A mixture of dishes were ordered, salads, scampi and chips, prawn cocktails, chicken burgers and Pie and chips. While most dishes arrived at the same time, others didn’t. The salads are very full, and the prawns delicious so both recommended but the chicken burgers were very dry and best avoided.

Have been visiting McCoy’s for years. On average once a month and I have never been disappointed. Love the Buck toast for brekkie and the Stilton and beef sanwhixh for lunch. Cannot beat a visit to McCoy’s to sit upstairs looking out over the water near princes quay.

Stopped here on Saturday lunch time for a bite to eat with my family. The welcome, service and food was excellent. There was quite a broad selection available from the menu, soups, sandwiches, burgers (beef, chicken or haloumi). I went for the all day breakfast which was really nice and grease free. Others had a chicken burger and an haloumi burger both of which had no complaints. I'll definately be back here. Hats off to all the staff.

We booked a very large table towards the end of November and pre booked our meals. The drinks seem to take ages to come. The food was very good. Fresh and tasty and everyone enjoyed it, however that too took a while to come out in 1s and 2s and there was a slip up with a meal missing which was quickly rectified. On the whole very good but big tables will always be needier, but the tip is always bigger too!

We visited here for breakfast having walked past it the night before and thinking it looked nice and worth a try. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the front entrance/bar area was very inviting. We liked the coffee beans on display. We enjoyed our food (eggs benedict with salmon), which was reasonably priced. There was a slight issue with our bill but once we pointed it out, the staff member rectified the issue efficiently. We would recommend to anyone wanting a nice breakfaat in Hull.

Hadn't been in here for a while so decided on a family brunch. The food was well cooked and delicious, the service was also very good. The temperature however bordered on the Baltic. I ate with my coat on as did the majority of the other diners.

I came here today with my niece for lunch... I had a not so good experience at McCoy’s a long time ago and to be frank I have not been back since however I think I can say those demons have now been put to rest... Attentive, professional staff who were very pleasant... I ordered the veggie all day breakfast which was lovely and my niece a jacket potato with cheese and a side of coleslaw... Really pleasant atmosphere and very Christmassy with Yuletide songs playing...

Second time here for a late breakfast. Very good straight forward coffee. The breakfast is good, excellent real butchers sausage, nice bacon, fried egg cooked right, nice portebelo mushroom and the tomatoes are done properly.

This is the best place in Hull for coffee! The selection of other drinks is very good too...they have everything! The food is excellent and generous portions. The staff are the friendliest you will find. It is a lovely, relaxing place: flowers, open fires and fairy lights! Fabulous and very classy xmas decorations at the moment

This place is usually very busy being one of the few places in the city centre of Hull that offers a great variety of food from lasagne to burgers, delicious goats cheese sandwiches and pulled pork flat breads (Look at the menu for its huge choice!). But if you can grab a table during the day then you won’t be disappointed. The menu suits everyone from vegan, veggie and meat eaters and the food is delicious. Very friendly customer service and a cosy, clean environment. It also offers paper straws and re-fills water bottles for passers by.

Went with my colleague for business lunch. Had a huge, yes huge, bowl of nachos with chilli beef, salsa, cheese and sour cream, it was amazing. For pud we shared a gorgeous treacle tart and had coffee sitting outside in the sun drenched terrace at the side of the dock! Great food, great coffee, great service. Nachos were £7.50, a bargain.

We have just eaten here, and the food was excellent. Great value, as we paid £15.40 for a large dish of feta and tomato pasta, goat's cheese and bacon salad, plus two glasses of a delicious Merlot. Highly recommend this place.

Located in a pleasant street and spread over two floors plus an outside area this is an excellent place for a quick bite, from a full English to a jacket potato or a sandwich. The place is comfortably furnished, service is prompt and the food just as you expected to be (really, there's a limit to what you can with a baked potato or a sandwich!), it's great value for money, centrally located and spotlessly clean (a quick visit to their facilities revealed one of the cleanest loos I have seen in ages in restaurants). Definitely worth a stop.

Have used McCoys for many years now and it still delivers everytime. We last attended at the Freedom Festival weekend. Food was lovely (shame that they no longer do the pies with the onions and peas on the top as they were amazing). Really good value for food and drink here and will continue to use, recommend highly a visit here

Visiting Hull from Cornwall with friends from Nottingham. This place is a great place for breakfast! Excellent full-English, (also a smaller version for smaller appetites!). Great coffee, filtered into mugs. Comfortable seating areas, downstairs, upstairs or mezzanine. To top it all, very friendly, polite staff, nothing too much trouble! Would highly recommend McCoys in Hull - would certainly re-visit when we are next in the area.

Called for lunch a couple of days ago , had never eaten here before but would go back . I had falafel and salad and hubby had mushroom strog. Both were delicious. The falafel was tasty without being too garlicky! and the strog was creamy and flavourful . We were driving so we both had tea , nice to be able to get decaf as not all places do it .Thought it was not too expensive . Service was good and we came away happy . Would eat here again .

After traipsing around Hull for a dog friendly pub I found this gem. It was quite busy for a Thursday lunchtime but my two well behaved dogs were more than welcomed. The barman got them some water and a dog biscuit each. I enjoyed a long cold Erdinger too. Would have stayed for more if I hadn’t wasted my time looking for such a pub. Nice place, good range of beers, friendly atmosphere and the staff more than helpful.

A friend suggested this little cafe. Didn't really know what to expect but loved everything I got. Service was great with the people behind the counter being very friendly.
