Came here for my birthday meal yesterday & the food was so nice! Very cosy vibes in the restaurant ✨Definitely recommend coming here! The Tapas was incredible 😍

Great breakfast and flat white. Wish they did an option for semi skimmed milk in the tea. Other than that, first class

I don't like that there is no one to take your order

Visited hull and fancied something to eat but struggled to find anything decent, then came across this cafe bar, looked nice from inside and outside...so we decided to order two coffees and two breakfasts can not fault the service very polite and helpful...so when we sat down 5 minutes later our breakfasts came and the food looked lovely on the plate well took on bite out of the sausage...tasted revolting off and stake had a nasty taste so immediately put us off so we left basically two full plates of food and walked out...if your looking for a drink then fine but the food was revolting which is a shame.

Really had a great time here today. The food was on point, really tasty 🤤 The squid was great, but this smashed burger with extra beef brisket, was amazing 😁

Popped in for breakfast, lovely staff and grub but it was the feeling of the place I liked the most: laid back, comfy and cosy, uncrowded tables, dog friendly and professional

This was my second time being at ponto. Emily was absolutely amazing! Such a cheery and bubbly atmosphere she is definately an asset to the ponto team. The food was absoultely delicious and the service was fast and friendly.

Travelled 30 miles to try pontos as they have a huge gluten free menu for my wife,i had the diablo burger it was absolutely beautiful best burger in a long time.The gluten free burger my wife loved it,food was out quickly and the price is reasonable, portions perfect and the interior is brilliantly set up with loads of room between the tables.100% going to be returning once a month

Not all staff are helpful. Asked someone what the daily soup was, and he told us, only to be told by the same person when going to order that there was none left. Why did he think we were asking when we were at the table? 🤔

Burnt dry chicken egg was off smelt disgusting 🫣 tasted off ! Emailed company standard report back saying oh sorry we must of got it wrong this time !

Pretty cool vibe, pretty good food

I like the layout, very open and spacious. There's a clean, modern feel to the place and you can tell how new it is to Hull town centre. Bar staff were friendly but I wouldn't recommend the cocktails here, the 'Long Island Spiced Tea' fell a bit flat despite sounding like an appetising concoction.

It's one of the best places to eat in Hull for a relaxed meal. Atmosphere is chilled out. Staff are friendly. There's a few things available for kids to play with. It's the perfect location in Hull as well. It's perhaps more expensive than some people are used to. However, you get what you pay for.

Tapas was beautiful 😍 and the glass of wine made me want to research where I can buy the bottle 👌🏼

Ponto lounge offers a pleasant dining experience, especially for those seeking vegan options. While the vegan breakfast I tried was decent and reasonably priced at £9.95, I felt it could have been more satisfying. The 2 little falafels, in particular, seemed a bit out of place in a breakfast dish—I would suggest replacing them with something more substantial. However, this is just a personal preference. On the positive side, the staff are polite and attentive, and the service is impressively quick. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it a good spot for both families and couples. The eclectic decor adds a unique touch to the overall ambiance. I’m looking forward to returning to try their vegan lunch offerings in the future.

My daughter is gluten intolerance and there a a great menu for he to choose from. We both had a breakfast and it was fab so much so that we cleared our plates. Will defo eat here when she visits again. Stafff were lovely x

Excellent service, good portions, clean facilities.

Every time I recieve great service and the food never let's me down. There are many great alcoholic and non alcoholic drink options. My favourite is the tapas as you can try 3 of many different things. They cater to dietary restrictions and you can even order on the app

My expectations were high as I often visit the Nottigham portello lounge, which is part of this chain of restaurants, and the food and service are always excellent. Not so the case in Hull. The restaurant was not the cleanest and was looking a bit shabby, especially upstairs, where it could do with a lick of paint. The menu is identical to the Nottiingham eatery, but the food was only warm and no real care taken on the presentation. The portion sizes seemed on the smaller side to what I am used to (especially the fries). The staff, in some cases, were ignorant and not really interested in making it a place you want to be. There were plenty of staff, seemingly doing nothing with me having to wait to get served with only one person behind the bar. It's a pity realy as it's in a prime spot in the town centre. The eateries near the marina seem to be busier and I can understand why.

This is our go to place with the kids. Great menu choices and very tasty. The only reason I've not given 5 stars is because sometimes the tables are a bit sticky, but this is sorted without fuss when I ask for it to be wiped down.

I love going to ponto. The food is delicious, and it has a cosy atmosphere. They cater for my gluten intolerance, which is always great. The salmon and eggs is my favourite, and the cakes are lovely! I highly recommend, especially for a catch up with friends, or a pitstop for lunch 😋

Brilliant staff and food, can't fault, we will be back within the next couple of days, see you soon.

My friend and I dined here last night. The atmosphere and food was excellent (second visit to this restaurant) and it was as good as the first time we visited. The staff are very professional and friendly in their approach to customers which makes for excellent customer service. My friend and I witnessed first hand how professional the staff are after an incident with an aggressive patron was asked to leave. They did not make a fuss and dealt with the incident quickly and quietly as not to disturb other diners and even apologised for the disturbance. My friend and I accepted this however it was not necessary as being abusive to staff is never acceptable. Thank you for a fabulous evening and we will definitely be back to enjoy the fabulous atmosphere, food, drinks and customer service. I can happily highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely amazing..nothing to fault at all

I try something new each time I go in and tonight I had Thai prawn noodle dish which was fantastic never had a bad meal.

I enjoyed a delectable Nasi Goreng paired with a refreshing watermelon iced tea. If you enjoy spicy cuisine, this Malaysian dish is a must-try. My friend ordered an American pancake, which looked absolutely scrumptious. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was perfect for a brunch.

Been in a few times but visited on Thursday 11th July for desserts. I had the salted caramel brownie and the biscoff banoffee milkshake and both were absolutely delicious. My friend had a nut allergy and they always accommodate for him very well, including labelling his food with little labels to limit contamination. However, I have noticed the past few times that I have been in a lack of service when being seated. There is a sign saying “please wait to be seated”, yet, at a few points there were a few people at the bar, and they locked eyes with us but made no move to sit us down. It was up to a server who came downstairs who saw us and sat us. We were probably only waiting 3/4 minutes, but it wasn’t busy and they were just chatting. But overall a good experience

Amazing vegan breakfast and vegan options in general. Not a big fan of the cocktails though, but it’s a nice place!

We’ve been to 10 lounges so far and our experience at this one was disappointing. The food was not to the high standard we have come to know from lounges and although some staff were really lovely it wasn’t the experience we have become used to in other lounges.

Aubergine flatbread was SENSATIONAL! Service was lovely, great to see happy and friendly staff. Food came out hot and fast and carrot cake for dessert was to die for 🩷

Me and my Mum popped in one night before going to the theatre and we've never looked back. It's now become an essential place for our meal before going to see a show! The food and drink are always superb and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I feel sorry for them when they have to tell customers they have no tables left but up to now we've been lucky. I only like to review places I like on here as working in a shop I think it's unfair to use a platform such as this to slag a business off however I do have one complaint. The music is just a little too loud and we struggle to hear each other. This could however be our age. She's 68 and I just turned 45 so maybe the music volume is the trendy thing to do. Other than that, top marks! Keep doing what you're doing! Sorry for the boring photos. I could have sworn I'd taken photos of the food!!!

Lovely food and staff. Couldn't do enough for us. we were down for 2 days from Liverpool, ate there twice .

A great lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon, but still got seated straight away inside (there were lots of people outside too, due to the sunshine). We ordered using the QR code, so didn't need to go to the bar - all really easy. Drinks and food took a while to arrive, but all tasted freshly prepared and were lovely, so no complaints at all. The menu has a fabulous selection, to suit all tastes. My daughter had steak and fries, which she polished off very quickly. I went for a Tapas board and really enjoyed all three dishes. The feta and honey with pita was simply delicious - I'd go back just for that alone! The drinks menu is extensive and plenty non-alcoholic options that feel like a bit of a treat - we enjoyed the watermelon iced tea and the sherbet lemonade! Really lovely, quirky decor and setting. Would definitely go back - perhaps to try brunch as the brunch menu looked fab! Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Visited on the morning of Fathers Day and expected it to be busy which it was. However, service was super fast and the staff were very polite. We ordered from the brunch menu and each of our meals were amazing. Shout out to our server, Alfie 👍

Went at nine o’clock when it was supposed to open and it was closed staff were putting out outside tables at 3 mins past 9 so we sat . Asked if the opened at nine , yes they said. Door locked . Walked away came back at 14 mins past nine still locked door . Went elsewhere , it’s a shame because I like the place🥲

Absolutely amazing! Coffee on point, perfectly brewed and extracted. Buttermilk pancakes w bacon unreal! Fantastic. Had biskoff cake as well and wau thst was an experience.Staff so friendly and kind even though they were busy, they were well organised and efficient. Only visiting from Ireland for few days, but wau , highly recommend this place. Nice and spacious, well decorated. Well done guys, u should be proud.

As a place which doesn't do table service (you order through the app or at the bar) it still has a great menu and a lot of choices. We eat here on many occasions because there is a wide range, as well as veggie and vegan options aplenty, and it stays open pretty late

I don’t normally complain but I spent over £40 for food and drink tonight it’s wasn’t a busy night only 5 people in at the time it took 40 minutes for food to arrive and my buttermilk chicken tasted like burnt toast flipped it over and it was black burned on the other side 😭 i was starving and didn’t wanna wait another 40 minutes for a replacement so i ate it

Nice place, good cocktails, resonably priced and good menu choices, however when the food arrived it was luke warm at best. By the time the waiter returned to ask if the food was ok , I explained and he and he just asked 'what do you want to do' ?plus we were more than half way through at this point. It was a special occasion and I didn't want to cause a fuss, surely its not hard to get the food out fresh and hot on a thursday teatime? would deter me from returning. Shame really.

It's one of those restaurants where you order at the bar, and initially feels a bit like a 'Spoons', however... they have a separate and extensive gluten free menu, the staff are more than happy to help, and the food was great. Inexpensive and a central location.

We just stopped for drinks. Great atmosphere and friendly staff but the shakes we had did not meet expectations. Quite watery barely feeling the flavours promised. The cake we tried was good tho.

Worst customer service we’ve experienced in regards to complaining about food. Don’t bother leaving feedback either as they will just email you telling you you’re wrong. We had a raw burger and were told it was cooked “pink.” It was not, it was raw. We also never asked for it to be cooked pink so when the manager emailed me telling us it was our preference I was genuinely baffled. The assistant manager gave us a refund but barely even let us get our words out to explain what was wrong. Felt very defensive and unprofessional. My food was cold in a hot plate and eggs weren’t cooked through. Just a genuinely confusing feeling experience. We’ve all worked in hospitality and this was not the one. Not sure what’s happened to customer service these days. These are hard times for everyone so if you have money to go for lunch somewhere go somewhere that actually values your custom. Not somewhere that makes you fetch your own drinks and would rather you use a QR code than speak to you. I wasn’t going to write this review until the manager sent me an email accusing my one star feedback as being “harsh.” If you have to harass a customer via email when they leave their honest opinion then it really tells you all you need to know.

Do not order food on the app it declined my order because they had ran out of chicken but took the money out of my bank still and just said oh well it will go back in eventually - I have been waiting four days up to now and it’s still pending in my account Iesson learnt - yes decline the order if you don’t have the food but don’t take the money still 😡

My second visit to this lovely place in a week! My first visit was to sample the breakfast with a friend. I had the veggie breakfast. It was fabulous. The corn fritters were a taste sensation! Very nice latte, too. Not too busy at 10am on a Monday. Easily found a nearby parking space. 2nd visit was for our tea. Arrived around 5.45. Very busy. A lot of activity. Still a couple of tables to choose from on the ground floor. Upstairs was full. This time I ordered the mezze salad. It was amazing. Hubby ordered the Lounge breakfast. He enjoyed it; ample portion. The menu isn't huge but it has something for everyone and there's vegan, gluten and kids menus too. Cocktails being delivered to other tables looked divine. Very nice atmosphere. We were dressed casually but there were visitors dressed up for the evening. Mixed bag of patrons in terms of age. Everyone was enjoying the place. Staff were very approachable and attentive. I still haven't cottoned onto QR code food ordering from the table but staff are happy to take orders at the bar. Efficiently processed and not too long a wait from ordering to arriving at the table despite how busy they were. Definitely recommend a visit.

Really good and quick service, we were happy to find that they offer a whole gluten free menu. The food was lovely, would definitely recommend to anyone with allergies as our server actually specified what allergies we had. Overall really nice experience :)

First time here & it won’t be my last. The place has a very relaxed atmosphere, it’s clean, well lit, the staff were excellent. But of course the most important thing … the tapas was amazing. Definitely will recommend trying this out .

Has a good menu and the biggest I've seen for people who can't eat gluten. Only downside is they keep adding and chopping the menu and the toilets are in the basement so it's quite a treck if you're upstairs

Popped in for drinks loads of times but this time went for food and my and I thought it really good.

Went on a Wednesday morning for coffee; our first visit to Ponto. We ordered a latte and a hot chocolate. The latte was ok, but the hot chocolate was just warm milk! There was hardly any chocolate in at all; it was a very white colour and tasteless. Took it back to the counter and all they did was add some chocolate syrup. Syrup! Is that what they make hot chocolate with?? Actually made it taste worse. Left it. Didn’t want to complain again. Won’t be back.

Lovely setting, interesting, but dirty and very noisy (to be fair probably just due to one table). It wasn't too busy (Thurs night / before bank holiday Friday) about 1/3 of tables taken, but staff said it had been very busy before we got there (8.30-9.30pm). The bar area was chaotic, stuff all over the place, and although there was only 1 person in front of me, it took a very long time to get a tea, lemonade and a coke. I would go again, as the set up is great, and seems a nice place to be.

First visit really lovely place

Nice food, reasonably priced, which arrived quickly and hot. It wasn't the best food I've had in one of the many city centre venues, but it was good for the price range and there's a good range of choices; and great for my friend to see such a huge range of GF options - as well as a decent range of drinks, both soft and alcoholic. The place itself is also lovely to sit in - it has a great relaxed atmosphere, and excellent location for before and after activities. Additionally, the staff are very chilled and the "right amount" of attentive - although we did have a weird moment at the start where there's a giant sign saying "wait here to be seated" - which we did for a good 5 minutes while the staff chatted at the bar, before one of them came over looking confused and told us to "just sit whatever" - so not sure what the point of the sign was... Would go again, would definitely recommend it, but it maybe wouldn't be my first choice unless I was going out for food worth someone who needed GF choices.
