Great selection of drinks at a great price. No music but you can watch sports on the TV. Plenty of seating and it's lean and tidy.

Its a Spoons what more can I say. Service was good, beer was good and food was, well as good as it gets in Spoons. All in a great afternoon catch up with friends.

Average Wetherspoons experience - food was just ok. I had the Heatwave burger which was quite good in itself. The chips were a fairly small portion (I mean like a count of about 8) and it was like warm at best. Staff were also lukewarm with the table being cleaned only once we all held the sticky menus and sauce bottles out the way? Cutlery for 5 people consisted of 3 forks and 4 knives? Anyway it was average, I guess some Wetherspoons just are excellent so it showed this one up on our visit.

Two minutes walk from Hull Paragon Interchange / Hull railway station, this is a roomy and popular Wetherspoons with some nicely built 'booth' seating along one side. When we visited there was some seating outside as well which was popular. Service was quick and our fish and chips was delicious. We were half way through it before I thought to take a photo for on here and a picture of a half eaten plate of food wouldn't do the place justice so please excuse the lack of a photo! We'll definitely visit this 'Spoons again when we next visit Hull by train. I might even remember to add a photo then! Thanks guys!

Cheap beer . Plenty of staff on . No complaints

Food is absolutely fantastic. The bar is always busy but staff are fast and friendly when serving. Really nice polite staff who look like they work well together and always nice and clean. Food is excellent and wait time is never too long. Really nice pub and a great example of a really good wetherspoons.

I only use the bar and restaurant so can't comment on rooms. The food is good but the menu does get boring when you are a regular.... However the menu does get tweaked every now and then. But sometimes at the cost of losing something you have come to enjoy. I love a meal here washed down with a Guinness. I used to enjoy taking the mother in law here weekly for a meal and then going shopping. We used to have a good laugh with some of the regulars. Unfortunately the mother in law passed away last year. Which took away most of the enjoyment. But staff are wonderful. Food is good and the Guinness is spot on.

Nice food, staff delt with a drunken couple quickly. Drinks where nice. Tables was surprisingly not sticky.

We ordered today got American cheese burger was very bland and dull, no salad on it at all just a very poor amount of onions and sauce but all looked like minimal effort - however the price is good which is why we didn't complain- too many tables which makes it very hard to walk around and not pram friendly

Went in yesterday for a meal was told by posters on wall no vaping please .bloke next table was vaping so didn't order food . this is not the first time this has happened staff seem to turn a blind eye

It was quite empty when we went, food was serves quickly but the server was puzzled when we asked for cutlery for our food.... none were given to us.... thus the reduced -1 star.

Came here today place was bedlam! So busy every table was dirty! Got served hard chips and had some trollope sat behind me shouting nearly went deaf! Place was full of hulls finest and not one security/bouncer in sight. Normally a spoons fan but If your in hull go somewhere else or try the other spoons in the city.

They got the meal order wrong my partners burger was hard and cold …. I ordered boneless chicken basket with salad the salad was nice the chicken has given me food poisoning (confirmed) it was on Saturday the 6-4-24 at 12.15 pm we sat at table 85 ……

We came here at the end of a beer festival and there was a boxing tournament going on next door. Pretty bust to say the least ! Still,good service by hard working staff and a decent beer selection . A first for me in that the toilets were on the ground floor ! A first for a Wetherspoons

Great location. Really easy to find walking down from the station, city center of anywhere in Hull. Cheap drinks, like all wetherspoons. Great place to pre in before going to more expensive places like the Star and Propaganda.

I went to the pub part to have breakfast with my family, I had porridge and to be quite frank the porridge wasn't cooked right it was horrible and not one staff member came up to us to ask us if everything was okay. Very poor service and food was horrible, my first poor experience

Good location, decent beer spoilt by rude staff. One short haired blonde female member of bar staff thought it was ok to pour Guinness from someone else’s half pint that they didn’t want into the pint glass I’d ordered. When challenged she lost her temper and began throwing a wobbler voicing her annoyance at wasted beer, then after slamming my pint down walked off without a thank you or anything. Then to make matters worse the strange looking member of bar staff with a beard completely ignored me when I went to the bar again as he had obvious misguided loyalty’s to his colleague. Luckily the first time I’ve visited Hull so won’t have to see these, and dare I say somewhat unsuitably dressed rude people again.

We didn't go to the hotel, just the pub. It's a spoons, prices have gone up a bit but quality is the same. The main area is very spacious and staff was friendly.

A good large 'Spoons with a good beer selection and good staff! I didn't eat but I found a seat near to a socket to charge my phone too - just what I needed!!

This place is a complete dump but is convenient after a hull city game while the trains quieten down. Got in at around 6 ordered drinks for us all, myself, my husband my 22 year old daughter and 18 year old son. We also had a 3 year old with us. Had our drinks delivered to the table. When we were almost at the end of our second round an angry woman appeared at our table demanding ID from my son. The same woman that delivered our drinks and questioned no ones ages. My son had not brought his ID as we were not planning to go to the pub. At this point he had 2 mouthfuls of his beer left which he finished. Being told he couldn't drink anymore I ordered him a ginger beer and a carton of juice for my 3 year old. However this wasn't good enough. I came back from the toilet to find that we were being told to leave!! Apparently the fact that he had finished his beer means we are outlaws and must be instantly evicted!! Very odd behaviour. Because the staff didn't ID when they brought the drinks that is somehow our problem. The staff were extremely rude, the main one being some man child with glasses who looked about 12 himself. It's a very strange way to treat a family out having a drink together. I guess the young bespectacled fellow has to feel like he has some kind of power bless him. Poor show. DONT SERVE ALCOHOL TO PEOPLE IF YOU DONT THINK THEY ARE OLD ENOUGH!! DONT COME BACK 40 MINS LATER WHEN THE DRINK IS DRUNK. IDIOTS.

Had my first drink. Great atmosphere. Good service. The prices were very good. Looking forward to next time. Been back... Had food, really good. Steak was cooked to perfection.. service was great

Very good hotel for a more than reasonable price

I came here for a Wetherspoons hotel and do you know what? I got a Wetherspoons hotel. Before visiting I wasn’t happy. Life was a drag, my partner hated me and I felt insignificant. Now? Well after two luxurious nights here I feel more virile. My hair is fuller, thicker, longer. Women flock to me far and wide. Is that my Ferrari? Yeah it is and it’ll smoke whatever slow whip you’re riding. Damn I wish I could go back? Hull? More like Heaven!

Attended the connexin live venue and went in before and after the show, just a 5 minute walk away. Got kicked out at 1am for which I am entirely grateful, great friendly staff.

Great pub in the middle of the town centre. Obviously a decent amount of great ales as it's a Spoons. As we visited after the early match it was really busy but a lovely lady offered us her table as she and her hubby were just leaving.

Looks like a 1970s architectural disaster from the outside, but fine and friendly inside.

Went in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was very busy but managed to get a table straight away. Used the app to order and someone ordered at the bar. Was served at the bar in good time, and the food all arrived at the same time. Had large breakfasts. The food was good.

Great hotel above the pub, clean spacious rooms at decent prices, have to buzz for a member of staff to come to reception but only takes a couple of minutes.. looking forward to a JDW cooked breakfast in the morning!

Good spoons in central location

Tuesday is steak day Ordered a steak sirlion with baked potato and pepper sauce incl 1 pint of beer for £13.54 The steak was cooked medium, perfect The potato was tender and warm, but a little too floury in my opinion. The sauce lacked a little pepper. An excellent meal for the price.

One of the worst wetherspoons you'll come across, staff are rude and always seem frazzled even when it's not busy, food is average at best and you can rarely get a seat. We were told off by a member of staff for 'queuing', she barked at us to find a space at the bar as no queuing was allowed, however we were just stood behind people already at the bar and would have been pushing in if we did anything else - awful customer service. Toilets were rank with puddles of god knows what around the toilet bowl.

Nice place to relax and have a good meal.

You can't serve someone at the bar, give them a pint, then have another colleague come over and ID me for the second one, then take away my pint to save face. You made me waste money on two drinks just because your employees can't tell age. I've some glasses in the mail for next week but I will forward them on to you.

Pub grub cheap and cheerful don't expect too much and you'll be happy.

Went for a meal with My friend yesterday and used the disabled toilet to change my friends baby. When using the toilet there was a crack pipe at the bottom of the toilet. Obviously the toilets need checking more and I'm glad it was just in the toilet and not in reach of any children. Reported to staff wich went to deal with it quickly and to close the toilet off. Couldn't fault the staff but obviously something you don't want to see when changing a baby.

Close to the train station and my hotel, this was my first port of call for craft beer and a bite to eat. Busy. Usual Wetherspoons cheap prices, decent food and free WiFi. There are only about 4 craft beer taps. You can sit outside.

Loved this place. Clean, great room with an amazing, huge window. It was quiet, comfortable and you went down to the pub for food and drink, which was a high standard of Wetherspoons fare. Very good value.

Very rude staff. Had one teenage staff member come up to me when I was out with my partner threatening to “stab me up” despite me never having spoken to the boy in my life and the next time I went in I was refused service by the tall bearded man with glasses (who had no issue serving me an hour before that) saying I was barred and refused to elaborate further, Avoid at all costs.

Baldy didn’t serve us cos someone had his hood up. Asked him why and he said ‘cos I said’. Not on really, went to John Scott’s instead where they love their customers (unlike here). Hope he’s happy and hope he doesn’t get bullied anymore. Have a nice day x

We stayed the night and the staff were wonderful were provided with all the necessary biscuits but when we needed more they were more than happy to provide. Beautiful room. Cannot recommended highly enough! Thank you Wetherspoons ❤️

My partner and I have been frequent visitors to The Admiral Of The Humber for the past 12 years or so and have seen the transformation of the building. It has been great fun being part of it all. The other quality the pub has is it's staff retention over that time. We have seen the same faces doing excellent work each time we have visited. Whether we have been in for a quick lunch or meeting friends or family for dinner, on a quiet week night or a Hull City home match day on a Saturday the service has always been exceptional. Last night we popped in for a quick dinner and the service we received from Scott was again amazing! He was polite, professional, funny and caring. He realised a problem with the size of my pizza and saw I wasn't happy, but I said not to worry. He went to the kitchen and sorted my dinner out in a no fuss and subtle way. He was great! I don't know if Wetherspoons reward exceptional members of staff but if you do then Scott should be rewarded, he is an asset to not just the Admiral of the Humber where he has worked for all the time we have been going there, but to Wetherspoons as a company! We often visit your pubs in Cleethorpes, Grimsby, Brigg and Beverley, which all have their positive points, but the Admiral is consistently the best, and that's probably due to the excellent staff and lack of children running around. I wouldn't have complained or written about my tiny pizza but I have taken the time to write about the excellence experienced to make my evening what I expected and more. Thank you Scott, and the rest of the team at The Admiral, see you again soon!

This is typical large weatherspoons and very busy. I only wanted to eat I would use the app as waiting at bar you’d your table, I was by self. Food typically weatherspoons great price and set standards very hard working staff.

A good bar person can usually see who's been waiting ages and see the chancers who just walk straight to the bar and expect serving, this pub is laughable. However, getting past this the food and beer is cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

No eggs on the breakfast, not made aware of it. There are small signa on the bar but we ordered on the app. I went and asked about the eggs and was told "we don't have any, that's why you've got an extra hash brown" Guy next to me has eggs benedict and I enquired how he has eggs and was told "oh yeah that's poached eggs. That's not for the breakfast plates" A joke. Ruined my morning. I can understand running out of eggs but the attitude from staff is deplorable, its the principal that no offer of any other type of eggs was made.

It was busy on a Sunday lunch but seemed very short-staffed. When we arrived, several tables were vacant but had previous guests plates and drinks left. We cleared one table away ourselves. One drink in a round was not correct but apart from that, the order was taken and served reasonably quickly. Food was OK. Staff were friendly, although there was quite a queue at the bar.

Worst experience of 2022 first night out all year, and subjected to abusive manager who refused to change drink after being served the wrong one, told me it was my fault for not being specific enough, how do you be specific about sweet Cider on draft? Disgusting service being shouteuat over the bar. Avoid avoid avoid.

Very disappointed in our visit tonight. Met my parents for a meal as they were going to the bonus arena. Ordered 3 gammon and a jacket potato, we were waiting longer than normal, which was fine as the pub was very busy, when we saw the waitress with what looked like our order we were told the food wasnt ours, fair enough, but we had seen other people get there food who had come in after us. 15mins later, the waitress came back to our table to ask us what table no. We had used to order which was the same number in which the drinks had no problem in arriving. She told us the food which she had tried to take out earlier was indeed ours... let the fun begin, she said our order was back in the kitchen keeping warm and she would bring them out and if there was any issues she'd get them replaced. Food came out, the plates were hot but the gammon you could have snapped in your hand as it was that dried out, the eggs had congealed and weren't fit for eating, and the jacket potato with its salad had dried out and the salad wilted into nothing after being 'kept warm' in the kitchen. We asked to send them all back, she went away 5mins later she came back and said they would replace the jacket potato, but there was no gammon left, we asked if they could replace the potato and discount the rest, she went away again and came back and said no discount and if we wanted our money back they would have take the food away. At this point, it was getting so late, we decided to get a refund on 2 meals (5 day wait for refund), but keep one gammon back so at least my dad had something to eat before the show and replace the potato, my dad ate his at this point cold crispy gammon, whilst the rest of us were starving, when he had finished my mum finally got her potato. All in all pretty pitiful. And not a sorry in sight. Is this the weatherspoons new policy serve food late, keep food standing in the kitchen when they get the wrong tables, deliver unfit food, leaving it with us to find out what the complaints policy is twice, leaving us with one unfit meal, while replacing another 10mins later, just because we had waited so long we didnt have any other option

We visited the Admiral Of the Humber Weatherspoon’s public house in Hull whilst staying in the city for a short break. We were attending a concert at the Bonus Arena that evening and having arrived in the city around lunchtime and having had a quick look around, we were looking for something to eat before going to the concert hall. The venue has a good deal of inside seating and also some tables and chairs outside on the pavement if customers prefer. In common with most pubs in the Weatherspoon’s chain, the venue was quite busy but we found a table and ordered our food using a smartphone having first scanned the ‘QR’ code on the menu. Through experience we have found that this method is often quicker than queuing at the bar area. Our drinks and food order arrived in good time after we had ordered, we both had the fish & chips meal, and this came hot and of a portion size likely to satisfy the average appetite. The staff that served us were very helpful and polite. Most Weatherspoon’s chain pubs we have used previously are usually a mix of the corporate image incorporating a local theme, however we felt that the local theme was not as prominent here as in other outlets that we have visited in that it did not seem to extend beyond some old photographs around the walls. We returned again the following evening for a drink after exploring Hull and before returning to our hotel and being the evening before the Platinum Jubilee Bank holiday found it to be very busy.

Westherspoons do some great breakfast deals and food is good quality. Staff were very good too. However, notwithstanding cloth marks on the table tops and bats, both were very sticky ! It need a good and proper clean, not just a wipe over with a damp cloth!

Stopped here for breakfast as it was next door to my hotel. It was quiet so service was quick. It was clean and as usual for the chain the quality was good.

An average Spoons. Very low staff retention, dark and dingy, sticky carpets, incredible chips and decent curry. The new roof terrace is very nice, though.

I visit hull 3 times a year too meet with family and friends! This bar war far superior to three John Scott’s! Service was quick and to a top quality, staff were amazing and went out of there way to sort everything that was required! I shall be returning! May even have to enquire about saying in the hotel next time

This is a very nice hotel,very clean and tidy,I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel and I am rating it 5 star.

Me and my family stayed here, What a complete dump filthy place, no tabels wiped down, dirty food left for hours on the floor, human sick left for hours on the floor, no travel cot reqested on arrivel, finaly got one at 9pm with no matterss, flooded bathroom a plumber was sent to our room and even said hes sent every week fixing the same problem and very smelly carpets, very rude staff spent more times on their mobile phones. The rooms was badly cleaned and same bedding put back on...The lift was enter at your own risk so had to carry the pram up 2 flights of stairs, offered complemetary drinks which clearly myself and baby dont drink. Flies around coffee machines cold food and the kitchen needs closing down, what filth, with the Covid virus at its peak im surprised ive not caught it, the place should be shut down. On leaving at 11am with 2 suitcases and luggege they refused to lookafter our bags because of the covid,, what a complete Joke !!! After our complaint, yet again we got offered free drinks, then waited 40mins to see the Manager, nobody came, i demanded my money back. What a disgrace!!!

Came here to go to the Ferrens Gallery booked for cheap room, Josh greeted us apologised as we couldn’t check in early, served us drinks, checked us into reception was courteous, informative and had a very nice demeanour , ordered food had chicken wings with hot sauce , they where really good the guy who served us was called Scott was very friendly, polite , he must walk a marathon every day! Very attentive and provides exceptionally good customer service in a very busy place , well done guys! All other staff where very friendly , this is a gem of a Wetherspoons ! And very Covid attentive !

Out for meal with housemates when friends decided to order us some bits 15 portions of peas which was denied , fair enough but they could have atleast presented us with 14 of said portions. Then the milk that was ordered to our table never showed. What if I was a baby and was dying because my mother ran out of breast milk?!The blond staff member who sent us the peas broke the news very kindly and sensitively though. So cheers

went today for breakfast for the first time,I got a large breakfast with two extra bacon the breakfast came very cold and the toast was cold aswell the bacon was very thin,I was very disappointed I only ate it because I was hungry,very easy to order use the app food and drink came within 10mins plus good price aswell with the eat out deal.next time I will say something.

on arrival the disabled lift was broken. As my husband can walk a little we got him up the steps to use the hotel lift .......when we got up to the roof garden and found a table it was filthy when asked the staff to clean it I was greater with a grimes.... there was rubbish all over the floor ... you are encouraged to use the app for drinks and food but as the disabled lift was not working you couldn't use it ... i will not be rushing back anytime soon .

Had skinny steak with salad..lovely and chicken tikka masala good value comes with popodoms nan bread and rice. Cosy Wetherspoons nice chilled wine..always visit when in Hull. Friendly staff and clean

Went for an evening meal here, having frequented several other Wetherspoons and found the food quality very good.It was very busy and we had a wait for our food. On arrival the presentation left a lot to be desired and the quality was poor. We ordered a mixed grill and hunter’s chicken. The steak on the mixed grill was very tough and the chicken, beneath the bacon and cheese topping, was overcooked and dry. I doubt we would ever go back.

went today had the mixed grill the lamb was raw put me right had to ask for a refund as it was still bleating on the plate...Also went n at like 2pm the place looked filthy like the carpets need a good hoover our tables was sticking really looked rough

Visited here before travelling back to Leeds for breakfast. I opted for a traditional breakfast as I don't like to eat too much in a morning and I know the portion size is just right. My partner got the large breakfast with extra sausage! He also ordered the refillable coffee and I had gone for the hot chocolate. This was really disappointing. I assumed this would be from the machine as well, but instead you get a cup with a block of chocolate in that melts in hot milk. I really didn't like the taste and ended up ordering some orange juice. The food itself came very quickly as we ordered on the app and the pub was quiet when we arrived at roughly 9am. Handy place if you fancy going to a typical Spoons.

Went there this morning for breakfast. There was no bread. Half the breakfast items are sandwiches or served with toast. I doubt there wasn’t any bread in the rest of Hull so, even though it’s a cheap chain pub, you would think ‘no bread’ is the sort of issue a manager could sort out.

The heating in here is a joke asked for it to be turned twice and it was then turned off again told it was 22 digs yer right in tenerife we go in 3 John.scots and its always warm its full.in here and everyone is wearing their coats what does that say not impressed

We popped in early for breakfast on a weekday after spending a night in Hull and I couldn't complain for the price really. I ordered on the app and the food arrived really quickly. The breakfast was of a fairly high standard, as you will see from my photo. The only downside is that you have to go fill up your own coffee, I know they are free refills but when it's quiet I'd expect staff to do the first fill for you. I also thought the bacon was a little under done. The portion in the photo was a large breakfast with an extra sausage, two extra rashers of bacon and an extra tomato. Including the drink this meal cost just over £8 which I think is fantastic value! It was much better doing this than paying silly money for a breakfast at the hotel, my partners traditional breakfast was less than £4!

Your average spoons in a northern city, expect fights at 6pm on a saturday night. Staff handled this very well and police arrived a few minutes later. Drinks are fine and food was good, had both lunch and an evening snack here. Service was reasonable on the app. Struggles to find a table

Just had to write this review while I'm still here.I've just had the most gorgeous lamb shank ever!!! It was HOT, minty and delicious. Plenty of it and has set us up for the day.It's a Managers Special today (15.02.2020)with mash, root veg and gravy for £5.99HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Went for lunch was lucky to get a table as someone was just leaving. In fairness it was Saturday so folks not at work. The food came in good time and was tasty and hot,but it was very noisy and many dirty tables. The staff was working very hard indeed. As usual very good value.

As usual the family,7 of us visited 'The Admiral' for a few drinks and a bite to eat. The drinks are cheap and as good as anywhere else that is for sure. we all had different meals, and not one of us complained, hot and tasty. got in there at 6 and left at 11..... atmosphere was good and staff helpful.

Have visited few times if in the town early for a breakfast, but feel we will go elsewhere in the future. It is a very busy pub so staff are extremely busy, but maybe more staff are needed as each time we have been, noticed table is still full of dirty pots from previous customers, so you find yourself shifting it on to another table, but then your table doesn't get cleaned. Also the menus are very sticky and drink stained from drink & fingerprints. We have had it mentioned to us from other friends. Hope things can change in future, as it's the little things that matter!

We visited Hull recently and decided to stop in the Admiral of the Humber on reccomendation.

This pub is a regular place I visit for real ale with friends, or for a breakfast before we go on a train trip and occasionally with myself reading a book with a beer when it's quieter.
