Great place staff are lovely too

The one night I went, there was no food on and no coke left! When I asked if food was going to be on soon they just said 'yes but we don't know when'.

We’re absolutely disgusted after attending this poorly managed establishment today. Came in for a couple of drinks with my partner after a nice day out together. We both walked in together, my partner then got served for the both of us. I however, went to get the next round of drinks in, and got asked for ID. I was refused service and wasn’t happy, so asked to speak to a manager. She was about as helpful as a blunt kitchen knife. Clearly, the bar staff and management are just as clueless as each other. As a result of the quite frankly poor and disrespectful service, we will not be returning to this pub, and would advise others to avoid also. Perhaps the people employed there need reevaluating to see whether they’re competent enough for the job. Then again, I highly doubt they would be.

Cheap and cheerful and not to bad a pint

Dive. Went in at lunch to find every table filthy and uncleared. Only one person serving with a long queue at the bar. It also had a dodgy aroma of uncleanliness. We left and didn't order food.

Ceilings above food and drink serving area full of cobwebs dirty in places ... long walk to the toilets..nice beer garden nice architecture . Food had a massive hair stuck in it but the staff ,changed it straight away. For an old building I thought was on dirty side score 7/10

A cozy pub / restaurant There is a quiet atmosphere here, older men sit and review the day's progress and have a pint or two. I ordered at the bar scrambled eggs, toast, bacon and coffee. I waited for 10 minutes then she brought what I ordered Delicious and freshly made. There is refilling of coffee/tea or whatever you want in the coffee machine A solid breakfast

3 John Scott's seen to be he'll bent on destroying the planet, doors left wide open in winter to counter a defective thermostat on the heating system, no parking for cycleists and a point blank refusal to let them put the bike in the beer garden, the one saving grace they had was that they endured my activism with good grace and didn't get the police in who always sin bin me for the full 24 hours, which is a chore to be honest but does make me appreciate being free

Was just like a basic wetherspoons

Called in for some food and a pint I had fish and chips and a pint for less than £12 and the food came out fast and tasted good 👍

This is Weather spoons pub. Decent food at a reasonable price. Not very busy when we visited but it was a Sunday late afternoon.

Great food and a promotion on a guest ale at £2 a pint. What's not to like!

A poor experience on this occasion. The glass collecting and service staff were very rude. Telling customers to MOVE and pushing past. I noticed others taken back by the poor attitude towards customers. Service at the bar was OK, but a simple acknowledgement to customers waiting for service would go a long way. I also had to ask for the correct change, as the barman didn't return a ten pound note. A shame as I've always enjoyed the pub before.

Great views and you're away from the hustle and bustle when you need to be. Excellent modern apartment.

Cheap, cheerful and clean. Can ask for more. Staff were friendly and served quickly all night. Didn't have anything to eat but others around us did and it smells lovely.

My Sirloin steak was one third gristle and two thirds meat. Photo shows the amount of gristle.

Quite a nice place but breakfast wasn't very hot and I had to remind myself of the extra orders. Tasty coffee 👍

This is one of the nicer Spoons. Although it was a Tuesday evening, it was relatively busy but service at the bar and the food was quick. Good choice of ales and had 2 dark ales which you should expect during winter. Food was palatable with the only gripe being the cheesy chips which was a bowl of chips with a sprinkle of grated cheese on top. After the top layer, it was a standard bowl of chips. I will be in Hull a few times each month and will definitely be dining here again.

A Wetherspoons is spoons, they're all the same, but some are big, some are charming and others are bland. But Three Johns is big, plenty of seating, service is always fast and it's close to all the old town bars, so great as a start off pub.

We had limited time before attending a concert. Meal came quickly and was good. Special thanks to a lady customer on a night out who paid for our meals. Happy Christmas to her 💕

Regular visitor of Weatherspoons, Monday night we decided after watching the movie to pop in for some food and drinks, ended up leaving midnight closing time after mutiple drinks each we barely spend £60 includes food I was ordering Disarano and Regular Pepsi at £2.28p a drink. Where else can you get that price? As a regular drinker of Disarano, it tasted perfect The table service was spot on and the app was very easy to use

Spoons is spoons. You know what you're going to get which is reassuring. Took a little while to clear the last peoples plates from around us but it was a busy Saturday night. Everything was as it should be.

It's a typical 'Spoons', nothing more, nothing less. Cheap drinks and Food. Affordable tasty pub grub. Had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger that comes with Chips and a San Miguel, plus 12 Onion Rings for a total of 12GBP. Food was fresh and tasty, Beer crisp and cold. Nothing wrong here!

The three John Scotts is in the grand building of the former main post office. It is very popular and always busy especially Friday evenings when you often see people queuing outside. This Wetherspoons has the usual good range of cask conditioned real ale at very cheap prices. The food has always been good and the staff are very friendly and professional. There is a large outdoor seating area in the courtyard.

This was another enjoyable meal in a decent place to eat. We come here every time we are in hull, the food was good and staff were friendly and helpful which is also good.

Of the two Wetherspoons we went to in Hull this was the least attractive of the two. The other was in a better location, busier and had a better vibe.

Wetherspoons visit #189. One of the worst Spoons we've visited. Looks very neglected, run down and dirty.

What could go wrong with fish and chips, right? I ordered fish and chips, the food looked alright, but the fish was chewy, like a gum, rubbery, bouncy and not dividing as it would normaly, I added video to show what I mean. So ended up eating only chips with peas. To be fair though, it was saturday afternoon, so it was quite busy. The worst experience from all the wetherspoons that I have been to.

Out of the two JDW visited in the city centre this is my favourite. Very nice beer garden, impressive original interior and an architecturally important historic building. I had a reliable Oakham ale, which was very good . Will return

Good pub but getting served can be a ball ache people always seem to be stood around the bar area so makes it harder to que and always everyman for himself to get served no matter how long you've been stood there waiting.

Go here a lot as the price for food is brill. Breakfast is amazing. One thing I will say is if you want pizza or garlic bread get in there early in the day as they sell very quick. Apart from that it's a brilliant place to go. Staff are always accommodating. Lovely beer garden.

Curry night, we don't normally complain but for the last three or four times we ordered onion bargi and they are burnt. Told member of staff who just walked away and did nothing. Love the place just need staff to be more sympathetic.

Appalling rude staff today. More staff needed. Only 2 serving 1 side of the bar. The bar staff need to be more observant as to whom is waiting. Apparently I'm to ask if i want a glass with ice, not offered? Then get given a dirty glass. Yes busy. Shouldn't allow the amount of customers in if they can't accommodate them. We would have had 4 more rounds like usual. All 10 of us! We left to the city hotel where they had the same amount of staff!!

We went Sunday morning for breakfast. The floor was extremely sticky from the evening before. The beans were cold and it's not the first time they've been cold!

Place was pretty grubby with stained seating areas but easy going and family friendly. Service was very quick. Food average but what you'd expect for the price which is very reasonable and most meals include a drink.

Absolutely sold on Wetherspoons for food since a colleague introduced me a few months ago. What can I say, cheap ale, cheap but really tasty food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. This is a really large pub, but copes very well with keeping the orders moving.

It's probably the best Weatherspoons in Hull centre. Located in the old quarter so the outside has its history. The staff are polite and professional and helpful. All condiments were full and ready to use. Toilets are very clean and fresh. Reasonably priced and perfect for the refreshment break. 5☆

Cheap beers and decent food although nothing startling. Service is good but the place is sooooo loud inside and that's without there being any music playing, which they don't have,!!

Venue is dirty. Tables, chairs, floors windows and sills all need a good deep clean. My food had a long strand of hair in it, and the place was infested with flies and wasps. Wouldn't recommend.

Nice trip to Hull. Lovely actitecture from the outside, nice and spacious inside. Was there on a Saturday evening so had a really nice vibrant atmosphere. The haloumi burger was amazing. Staff, very accommodating.

A typical WS all the same but this one has a great suntrap of an outside area, only fault there's always loads of dirty glasses everywhere and with everyone serving it always seems to be a secondary task, good name taken from the church across the road and on the edge of old town a great start to any outing.
