Great lunch with a large group of ppl. Orders and food al great and service was excellent 👍. About 30 of us and we all got our food on time 👍

WOW, Awful 😖 1st they forgot a child's Sunday dinner and then making him wait 10mins for it, recieved chicken instead of beef to which we asked for on the other child's lunch... Didn't clear our table before serving desserts which again was incorrect... Hate complaining but when your spending roughly £100... Won't be returning again anytime soon

Considering there was about 70 of us, food came out quick, service very good, and the quality/ taste of everything was amazing. Really happy!

1st time in this pub. We went for the bogof burger. It was presented lovely and was really nice. The guy behind the bar was really friendly, and the server was too. The only gripe we had was that the glasses our cokes came in were dirty. The pub is huge and it's really nice . Definitely going back!

Lovely friendly staff. Food was good, spacious clean pub, plenty of outside seating too. Drinks tasted a bit off (Guinness, Coors and the tea). Toilets need refurbishing, seem a bit old and well used. Plenty of parking.

Brought the grandchildren for the Easter party, great atmosphere, staff were really good with the kids and the pancakes was lovely

Came with friends for a spot of lunch on Tuesday lunch the food especially the rib of beef perfect. Lovely lady with blonde who served us was really friendly, helpful as was the shorter man with a beard who talked is into buying deserts he had good banter with us.

Lovely staff, fast service and great server (Courtney). Nice and quiet for a lunch time visit. It was a shame we couldn’t order the milkshakes on the app though

Cheap and cheerful what u expect for pub grub

Was a nice meal reasonably priced. My mum wanted to use her blue light card. Which I previously looked up before booking which stated we could use on a Sunday. But when I asked at the bar was told I couldn't use the card on mothering Sunday. A few other people had tried using their blue light card only to be disappointed. The only improvement to our experience could have been this information being clearer on the website when booking. Other than that. We had a pleasant experience and was pleasantly surprised at how cheap a round of drinks were.

Always amazing at Old Grey Mare. Decided to visit after a disappointing trip to Goodfellowship down the road. Was easy to find a comfortable table, and ordered drinks at the bar, the staff were friendly. Service was quick ordering from the app and the food plentiful and delicious. Easily my favourite place.

Visited the pub for dinner with my family and a couple of weeks later received a fine notice of £100. Unaware of the parking arrangements, I called the pub and spoke to a staff member who confirmed that I should have given my registration to...

Visited yesterday, was 7 of us. Food all came out together which was good, however one of us found a massive hair in our food. No one came to ask us if food was OK. Two off us was completely put off from eating the rest of our food, when they came to clear the plates we told the guy and he just laughed it off. This was the ONLY time I saw any of the staff even smile! Was 3 staff on all looked so miserable, I understand its just been Christmas etc but a smile goes along way. Put us off visiting again and didn't even stay for pudding as was putting a downer on our day. Good food shame about the service!

Asked for a rare steak and it was served on a skillet. Inevitably it continued to cook and my steak ended up well done. Some of the chips were inedible. Not the best by any means. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Took my daughter out for dinner on the 7th November. As I wasn’t familiar with the area thought a safe and trusted brand like Green King would be my best option. What do I get as a reward?….. a £100 parking fine. A warning from the staff to enter details or make a payment would have been nice…. Never again! Absolutely disgusted a brand like Green King would partner with parking bandits to fine unsuspecting customers!

Really surprised at the quality of the food, I haven't been here for around 10 years but the improvement is fantastic. The pub is comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. I messed up on the car park not validating my parking (the signs are quite low and in the dark they are not overly noticeable) and the manager was really helpful. The food though, absolutely delicious, I had the beef burnt end tacos, fries, coleslaw and mac & cheese. Friends had mixed grills and chick & mix, everyone was incredibly happy.

Staff are amazing and the food is good. Unfortunately, other guests smoking cannabis in a room next to us over two days gave us no other alternative but to find accommodation somewhere else at short notice. However, staff very understand and issued a refund for our remaining days without any problems.

The Old Grey Mare is a green King pub opposite hull university. There is a good range of beers and lagers although sadly no cask on when I called in, that's the first for a green King pub, but Plenty of lillys ciders on offer. The food is the usual green King menu which I prefer to marstons pubs. It's a proper pub nice friendly staff, bar games darts and Pool. There's a free car park but be warned you must enter your registration number inside the pub or you will get a very hefty fine. All in all it's a nice pub.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Food amazing and staff super friendly. Seen on some reviews about parking but there is plenty of notices about . Just pop your reg number in one of the many machines in the pub and all is good . My new favourite...
