First time back for a while,I had the large mixed grill and honestly,being a retired chef,it was phenominol, well done chef,it was perfection,my Grandaughter had the Chicken Tikka,also ex ,and baby had the kiddies meal,all great value,more than pleasant staff,will defo be back and recommend it,once again we'll done all.

It was busy but adequate number of staff on so was served at the bar quickly. Bar staff could remind non-regulars not to form a queue at the bar though as this is ridiculous and causes more chaos! The main reason for choosing Four in Hand is the veggie choice and efficient service. Food was good and wasnt waiting long, and tables were cleared in good time

I came in after my shift at work for a bit of a relax before heading home. I think there was some sort of promotion on for meals as it was very busy at the time. The lady who served me (Debbie I believe) was very efficient. She was dealing with a customer ordering food but acknowledged that myself and other customers were there. Nothing was too much trouble and we were all catered for in very good time. A credit to the company.

Had birthday meal for 7 and everything perfect. Food perfectly cooked, hot and all served at same time. No complaints whatsoever.

Sister beef was bloody and she asked for well done and she’s pregnant

Came for a meal for our wedding anniversary the food was lovely , the team was very friendly and accommodating, will be coming back in soon with the family

Popped in for lunch today with a client, with great value for money. We both had fish and chips, and wow, it was outstanding.

Always had fantastic service from all staff ,nothing is too much trouble for them ,food is good and a really decent menu to choose from

Went in with my nan for an early lunch. Food was spot on and service was fabulous.

I was in there for pool not for food bit the atmosphere was very good could of done with someone on the main bar as people was having to wait a while to be served but my experience was great

Came for food and drinks arrived at 5.50 pm, ordered our food and drinks online and the drinks came promptly, after half an hour we had finished our drinks so I went inside to order some more and ask how much longer our food would be, was then informed it was a wait Time of 50 minutes from when we first ordered ( would be helpful if this information was on the website somehow ) eventually the food came an hour and 10 minutes later and the order was wrong as they brought out a lasagne for my partner but she ordered the chicken ceaser salad, I also wasn't impressed with my food as the chips was luke warm at best and the burger was dry and just tasted of charcoal, all in all we won't be rushing back in a hurry.

Always enjoy food at four in hand. It's been a go to for years. The last visit was mildly disappointing as I got a different variation of what I asked for (I asked for nachos and was sent nachos with chicken and hot sauce on - even though I did not specify I wanted the extras and it's a completely different thing on the menu) However the staff are polite, friendly and helpful and I would still return regardless cause the food is goooood

Husband, daughter and myself got treated to a meal from oldest grandson. Service was quick, food was lovely and the place had a great atmosphere.

Food wad great, had the Mega Mixed Grill which for the amount you get was cheap at £13.... we also have the hunters chicken, a burger, which for the picky like my Mrs you can not get plain or just a normal cheese burger. She had to order a burger with bacon and then state when ordering no bacon or salad. My Mrs and the kids all ordered a pudding, the chocolate brownies were fantastic cannot beat warm chocolate brownies and ice cream, but towards the end, it became sickly. Would go back again with the family.

Visited after long time with family for a Sunday meal and well happy asnfood well prepared and service spot on . Place as before well kept clean and plenty of room gor kids to run around .

Just been in for tea. The service was awful. The female who served us handed us our food with the cuffs of her sleeve and laughing all over the food. Not much portions of food. Defo wont be going back.

Very disappointed, out of 3 meals ordered, 3 meals screwed up. Wrong food on two plates out of 3 plates. My meal was stone cold, I was asked why I didn't complain, I was sick of watching the rest of complain about cold food, wrong chips, onion on one .meal, despite it being clarified when paying for meal. 3 portions of scampi requested, 2 portions arrived, 15 minute wait for 3rd portion. My chips were cold, my steak was cold. Simple requests turned into simple mistakes. Granted the pub was busy for a Monday (Not a bank holiday); OBVIOUSLY The kitchen staff cannot cope under pressure! I'd be very careful of where I have my next pub meal!

The mixed grill was top notch, would recommend it to everyone.

Sadly not the best review. Walking in past groups of people smoking cancer sticks on the doorstep doesn't look good, then sitting down to a table that was stickier than sticky the stick insect on a sticky bun made us almost walk out, however we like a sizzler pub, the food is always good nicely cooked and hot, so we forgave the initial impression...knowing what we know now, we should have turned round and gone home. Its supposed to be a sizzling pub, well our food didn't sizzle, in fact the onion rings were cold, the steak was so tough it was like shoe leather, my chicken wasn't too bad, a bit burnt on the edges. My orange juice (I was driving) was almost pure water it had been watered down so much!! It wasn't even worth taking a photo, I'd be too embarrassed to post it. Sorry to leave a negative review, it may have been an off day for the staff who were actually ok.

Had a mixed grill. It came coldish and with skin on fries when asked for normal chips. Won't be visiting for a while

I’ve been coming to four in hand for years never ever had a problem and I come weekly today as been a disaster we are here now waited ages for our meal got gyroses plate was full of salad and vegetables not a lot of chicken we are sat here another hour waiting for tables to be cleared only just come and asked if we want our puddings not even that busy very disappointed never had to complain before.

What outstanding pub,Peter rabbit came for the kids and met each table plus kids got a breakfast aswell,first time they did this and it was great for the kids,plus adults was able to order breakfast which was very nice,I hope they do more things like this,well done to all the staff,rate it 10/10

Food really nice and came quite quickly. Really good value meal especially when you have a discount code.

Good menu but I stick with the lasagna it's lovely and I always add extra chips but it does come with garlic bread. The wife get the salad and on this visit added a chicken skewer that was nice but next time for the price she said she would get 2 skewers. Parking was a bit of an issue as the walking club had a meeting that day but we just fell lucky as someone was leaving. A lot of tables had reserved on them but also had times reserved from so could still be used as long as vacated before that time. Definitely would recommend a visit.

Meeting place before heading on to party, had a few drinks, only one had food, said it was nice, burger and chips. Staff busy no interaction or politeness like hi how can I help, or thanks. Looks like the place has been up dated and that looked nice.

Today was the start of the new menu and I was disappointed to see the golden years menu is not available.

So last night I came in with some of my friends and my sister who is disabled and can not walk so uses the aid of a small mobility scooter on entering through your disabled access door one of my friends was stopped and told that the lady on the scooter was not aloud in on her scooter as they are now banned apparently. My sister as been going this pub for quite some time now and never once had a problem or told that she is not aloud in on her scooter she was made to feel like an utter fool and the management was of no help the reply we got was she can come in for one night only. No on saying this there is no signs up saying that mobility scooters are not aloud in the pub and the pub itself caters for people with disabilities with having a disabled toilet. She was given no opportunities to be seated on a chair she was just refused entry till other members of the public started asking questions as to why she wasn’t aloud in on her scooter. This was discrimination on my sister by all members of the staff. My sister was made to feel vulnerable and upset by the situation. We personally think this really needs looking into and if that is your policy then you should have it in plain sight so others can see it and not be made to feel how my sister was made to feel.

Food was overcooked again and dry, 2 mixed grills had requested medium rare steak, they both arrived medium well. The gammon was dry and chewy and the sausages overcooked. Strangely the mushrooms and tomato were stone cold! The Salmon was black and the “sizzlin” hot plate was luke warm, the sweet potato upgrade had been missed and there was no broccoli. The burgers came with luke warm chips and onion rings. What has happened? Your food used to be excellent and cooked perfectly, we were so disappointed we will not be returning to the Four in Hand.

I've eaten here a few times recently and have been pleased each time. Tonight I'd booked a table for a family meal. On arrival the table was clean and ready and had plenty of space - our party included our grandson in his pram and we appreciated the room allowed for us. Service, both at the bar and from the waiting staff was great. Friendly and helpful. (My two year old wanted scrambled egg rather than the fried egg which was advertised with her meal - no problem). The food wasn't too long in arriving, but long enough so that you knew it hadn't just been popped in the microwave. We had a variety of meals and all were very good. The only downside was some of the steak on my mixed grill was fatty. However, it had been cooked exactly as I had asked for; what I could eat tasted very nice, and to be honest, for the cost of the meal, I can't complain. Steak aside the rest of my meal was all really good especially the gammon and the sausage. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their food too. The Four In Hand isn't about fine dining, it is a nice local pub which also sets out to serve good, affordable food. Something it achieves very well. I will be returning.

Always excellent, the discount made or Skillets a bargain. Will be back.

Tuesday afternoon friendly club was on we had artist, raffle, bingo, and bus stop no improvement needed.

Food and Drinks were average. Not all of the menu items available at the time of ordering our meals. A bit overpriced for the quality and quantity of the meals. Would go back during the week next time for their meal deals.

Absolutely terrible, steak was just fat and totally inedible. It is an absolute shame as we have been many times and always enjoyed it. Won't be going ever again. Please avoid this place. I was assured it was the suppliers fault but why on earth would you serve inferior products.

We had Christmas dinner and wasn't good at all....certainly not worth £49 each, didn't even get a glass of wine with it but tables had wine glasses on them, and staff removed them when we sat at the table.

Reserved a big table for us all, food was cheap but really good and came out fast.

Meat was a little dry but excellent service and atmosphere and in theyre defense we did turn up rather late after what seemed to be a few large groups celebrating Xmas so can imagine how busy the kitchen was....the jammy santa shots are beautiful....I don't remember walking home so must have been a good night 🤣

Excellent eating experience food was served quickly and very hot. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Highly recommend this pub for excellent value for money.

Very quite, a little unhappy with food and drink, we wanted rump steak but didn't have any so the gave us sirloin was very chewy and fatty, then ordered a very cherry drink didnt have any and then ordered a woo woo didnt have any, then ordered pudding asked for a banoffee cheesecake. Came over to say no bananas. So had to choose something else. Which is a shame. Other then this the visit was pleasant

Normally a regular customer here but after dining on Sunday and myself and someone else in the group who ate here both having the clucking hot stack chicken burger coming down with food poisoning , I am hesitant to return. Food arrived suspiciously quickly compared to other times we have ate here but now after two of us having food poisoning I realise it probably wasn't cooked correctly. Tried calling multiple times to resolve the issue with no answer

Fantastic tribute night, there could be some improvement on the food, but all in all a very good evening.

I ordered a hunters chicken meal, takeaway. The chips were like yesterdays. They were too hard to eat. The chicken was burnt, we often come here as a family. But won’t be again after this experience. I tried ringing to resolve the issue but no answer.

It was good to be back after examount of years. . The Atmosphere didn't have a good vibe but would it be my father's birthday. I made sure that me my family had a good time. Staff were OK but didn't seem to be happy enough to be at work. But still helpful.

Went there with my mum and had a beautiful steak and rib combo . I never finish my food but I ate every single bit . And the desserts are absolutely amazing too. Highly recommend this place ☺️

The four in hand is a large pub with a big single room and plenty of tables and seating. There is also a recently refurbished bar and games room, with darts a pool table and an internet jukebox which can be played from your phone if you have the touchtunes app. A covered outdoor smoking area is accessed from this room. The Food menu is good I've had quite a few meals here and I have never been disappointed. The only downside is sadly there is no hand-pulled real ale on offer. The bar is dog friendly.

Been to four in hand so many times over the years and always enjoyed it but today was not great. We had to wait over an hour and a half for food. We weren't told about the wait in the first place. We were a on a table for fourteen so I appreciate it's not easy but two of us were served quickly then the rest had to wait. The girl serving was apologetic when we told her but it's down to bad management in my opinion. The food was delicious when it finally arrived but we all had to rush it down it was late. All in all, I think I'll give it a miss for now
