Tasty Cafe in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Had a lovely lunch in such a nice Cafe overlooking the Marina. Food was freshly cooked, great tasting and good sized portions. Very reasonably priced. This was our first time here but will be sure to return.

this spot is in a perfect locating for a nice view and close to other places in Hull e.g. the deep and the shopping centre

5 of us had 3 small breakfasts, a tuna melt panini with chips and the super tasty toasty with hash browns. We had to wait a beat but it was worth it as everyone agreed the food was well prepared and fresh. Great lunch! One of our party was celebrating their 91st birthday and the owner treated her to ice cream after. All in all a really nice experience. Would definitely return when in the area.

Great hot filled rolls. I had a sausage and mushroom sandwich - an unusual combination, and like the cafe name it was tasty. My three other family members all had different combinations of hot filled sandwich and also enjoyed them. The cappuccino I had was also very good and better than the chain coffee houses. Would definitely recommend if you are in the Marina area.

The best toasted bacon sandwich anywhere. Great service. Pleasant people. Thank you and will definitely call again. M

Walking past and spotted a sign for sangria. Was such a beautiful hot sunny day, it felt like we were on holiday sat by the marina drinking sangria. TBH the drink wasn't very good, but the ambience was terrific. Probably wouldn't have sangria there again.

Me and my dad came for breakfast early on a Thursday. We both had a small breakfast with hash browns it was lovely. Good portion size, great quality and brilliant service will definitely return.

My wife and I visit Tastys regularly, the sevice and food are excellent, the location is lovely. We would highly recommend a visit.

We visited for the first time today and the food was amazing! The staff were also very nice and helpful, I would recommend a visit I will be returning! Not the best picture as I was just excited to eat it!!

We visited last week and had delicious coffee and cakes. When we left, we realised our payment hadn’t cleared so we rang up to apologise and pay. The staff were so lovely and told us to come and pay the next time we passed. We visited again today. Not only did we get extra cakes for free but a discount as a thank you for our honesty which was above and beyond since it was our error! Once again the cakes and the coffees were delicious. The staff are kind and lovely (free lollipops made the kids happy too) and beautiful location on the marina. The breakfast and lunch menu/toasties etc sound fab too. We will be back for a lunch next time we are in town with a lovely view over the boats and the water.

We called in here after visiting solicitors, a bit dubious as it was empty, basically just a breakfast/ sandwich style basic menu. However no problem finding something from the small menu, we had a little bit of a wait as the pleasant guy was rushed off his feet as the takeaway side was busy then the sit down side filled up. Nice sandwich very filling lovely coffee we would go again no problem.

What a lovely cafe. The kids loved there ice cream ( and complimentary lollipops ) the toastie was one of the best Iv had. Great flavours and different to your standard toastie. A nice glass of beer was also perfect!

A friendly welcome and a vey nice breakfast. A superb view of the marina. Everything you would expect from a nice small cafe🙂

Breakfast sat next to the marina. Prompt service, nice choice of breakfast baps/sandwiches. Decided to sit on the adjacent benches, I was brought my coffee while the sausage and bacon was cooking. As the the names suggested it was tasty!

Just a really decent little sandwich and burger place. I tend to get a sausage sandwich and it's always delicious. Good bread too. My friend on this trip got the burger and ate it super fast and kept saying it was great so I assume he was happy too! The chips are absolutely perfect so if you need a snack grab some fries

Almost £5 for two take away 99 cones made with Mr Whippy ice cream. Not great value! The price wasn't displayed, although other ice cream prices were.

Great location overlooking the prettiest past of Hull (the marina) Popped in for coffee after a work appointment. Lovely service and a fantastic blend of coffee. Recommended.

Staff were lovely and friendly, chatting to the regulars and making sure we had everything we needed as I don't drink cow milk (but aren't vegan) and they had alternatives to choose from. Home cooked family food that filled a hole and the brownie was perfect for pudding. Location is great, right by the marina and around the corner from Humber Street. Definitely be back again soon!

After viewing the specials board I figured I’d try the “Dirty Fries” Wow!! Will be ordering these again 100%

Had the Aberdeen Angus burger with brioche bun, coleslaw and mature cheddar cheese and chips. I’m not convinced it was Aberdeen Angus, it was a bread roll not brioche, a cheese slice (I think, definitely not mature cheddar) and no coleslaw. I don’t like to write reviews without raising a complaint in person first and I would have said something if someone had asked how our meal was.

Really nice friendly staff with good seating on marina. Great value coffee and dont forget a chocolate brownie you wont regret..

lovely find on the marina came across Tasty as everywhere seemed hectic today, and what a delight it was! Lovely food, great outside seating with views of the marina and even fantastic service! Young lady who served us (Rachael) catered to all our needs and was a pleasure to talk to. Highly recommend

My wife and i were having a look around the marina area in Hull city centre and came across this very nice cafe. Serving good range of meals and snacks. Food was hot and perfectly cooked, i indulged on the big breakfast and had a plateful with toast and tea for £7 , missus had bacon and egg sandwich. There was plenty of healthy option too. And freindly staff to boot, great location with free parking too.

After going to the Deep we were feeling a little peckish so decided to pop over to the Marina. We were met with this gorgeous little cafe and had a panini. It has indoor and outdoor seating with some lovely meals. We had the tuna melt panini which was really lovely. Deifinitely worth a visit, just a shame we were too full for a cake!

So friendly. Excellent customer service. Eat in or take away- also a few tables with chairs on land opposite at end of marina. Great for breakfast, coffee /cake, lunch - something to take you throughout the day. Quality fresh produce. Customer focussed service with a smile. Very reasonably priced too.

I came across this place a couple of weeks ago looking for a bite to eat and had a beautiful meal with great customer service, this is a good choice for something to eat or to have great views of the marina while drinking a nice cuppa'. This is my new go to place of the city! (can't wait to try the chocolate-orange cake again!)

Hot day and the family fancied a drink and ice cream. One of the children saw a large ice cream cone with a flake outside the shop so requested a 'Mr Whippy' on entering each child chose their desired ice-cream / lolly from the freezer and then I asked if they did 'Mr Whippy'. The lady serving us very politely informed me the machine has broken and my son then chose an ice cream out of the freezer. I then ordered a black coffee which was made as requested (very weak). Another staff member then said loudly and in a horrible tone 'I don't know why people keep asking if we do ice cream?' I replied with 'It may have something to do with the giant ice cream cone outside of the shop'. I don't know why this staff member had to intervene as the lady who was serving us was very nice and polite.

Pleasant little cafe with out pretentious food or staff. Went in for a breakfast and coffee and the service was very quick and reasonably priced. The food was cooked perfectly and tasted good and the coffee was spot on. Definitely recommend and would use again no problem.

Came in on Saturday with my husband, we both had the Aberdeen Angus burger, price seemed a little expensive but once it arrived it was superb! Probably one of the best burgers we have ever had!

What can I say I didn’t expect anything out this world for the price and we didn’t get it neither,I got a mega breakfast sorry but the eggs they first brought on my plate looked terrible really full of black bits of the griddle so ask for eggs to be redone still not good cheap sausages and beans and tomatoe I fact worst breakfast ever I had to reorder my coffee as apparently they didn’t know an Americano is black twice I was brought milky coffee !!!!!!! our lass asked for a crispy battered chicken fillet burger I am not kidding sounded nice on the menu but was nothing like she imagined it was worse than a birds eye one that burger has never seen chicken won’t be coming again total waste of £18

Lovely location of this small café. Had the Mediterranean melt which was delicious. It's a help your self vibe when it comes to cutlery and condiments. Nice range of drinks both alcoholic and soft. Very reasonably priced. Enjoyed.

Lovely cafe in a nice position on the marina in Hull. Some excellent options for veggies, will make sure of a return visit in order to try a few more. Even the ice cream was good!

Came here to get my lunch on my lunch break. Whilst I appreciate the lunch time hour is a busy period I do not expect to be waiting half an hour for a chicken wrap! It does not take that long to make. The staff need more training in customer care and service and need to have a better system in place as they was all over the place.

Place needs a good clean in main seating area. Food tasteless. Coffee not good. Two ladies serving as you go to order point pleasant enough.

We often call in on a walk around marina. Last week I had chicken and bacon Caesar salad. Well impressed and enjoyed. We have had coffee and cakes in past and bacon sandwiches. The staff are always friendly and the service is good. A little treasure on the marina. Very good value for money. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Popped in for a sandwich and coffee, very poor quality I had a simple black coffee it was the worst I have ever had no strength or favour, both sandwiches very bland and greasy, will definitely never return.

Been a couple of times now and we are growing fond of the location atmosphere and standard of food. This is an ideal place for lunch overlooking the marina with pleasant staff who serve the food promptly and courteously.

We sort of stumbled across this place by accident, but I'm so glad we did. The staff were lovely, the menu offered a decent spread of food and the prices were very reasonable. I had the Aberdeen Angus Burger - it was possibly the BEST burger that I've ever had. And I've had a lot of burgers. It was magnificent.

Went here 2 weeks ago food fantastic and so was the servuce. Went today during Freedom Festival burgers were tasteless and service was also not good even though the pkace was not busy. Told staff 2 weeks ago how much we enjoyed the food we were told today that because of the festival it was a different menu (not very good food) but the prices were the same if not higher than before. I would recommend not going there during an event!!

Tasty cafe is in a great position on hull marina. Take away, Indoor seating, small tables outside and a larger terrace over road in marina square. Attractive period premises and great staff - efficient and very friendly. Not a particularly extensive menu but food is delicious and sufficient choice to cover snacks throughout day and light lunch. Pasties were delicious. Reasonable pricing given marina location.

La familia ha visitado sabroso en varias ocasiones, y el número de cada vez tienen tristemente solos disparo en la pie! Mi hija pidió un pastel de té y llegó con Colslaw debajo. Mi esposa y yo pedimos sándwiches que venía sin manteca y el pan estaba seco! Tonterías, pero reflejan que la falta de atención al detalle! Una lástima, ya que tal podría ser sólo la cosa para la zona.

Cafetería encantadora, frente al puerto de Hull. Las señoras encantadoras se desvivieron por atenderme ya que soy vegetariano. El servicio era estupendo y la comida era buena también, algunas mañanas, durante mi visita no quisiera ir solo para tostadas y una taza de té encantadora. Recomiendo encarecidamente

Very good and hot chips - together with sausage & bacon bread roll. I agree with other customers that coffee needs a re-think. There is a danger TASTY has such a splendid Marina position that it might forget the essentials. Furniture, for instance, oddly arranged ...so that if one family left, another family had to move to let them out. Establishment rather unsure whether it is eat-in or take-out or both.

Fancied a cup of tea after a long walk around Hull and unfortunately settled for the Tasty Cafe. Despite seeing teapots and cups on the tables outside, we were presented with tea in cardboard cups even though we were seated inside. The waitress told us that the proper cups had run out! We then noticed glass cups being taken outside for drinkers sitting outside, across the road, some distance from the cafe. We could have put up with this disappointment had the tea been drinkable. It was barely warm, extremely milky (full cream milk I suspect) with no taste of tea whatsoever. I complained and was given another teabag, but this made no difference to the taste or colour of the tea - or to the temperature! The tea was now cold, so we escaped to try and get a proper Yorkshire cuppa somewhere else. I do think that if a so-called Cafe can't even serve up a decent cup of tea then it is failing badly. Isn't it usual for the customer to add the milk to his/her tea, according to taste? And surely some investment should be made in enough crockery - and in better staff training, especially to deal properly with customer dissatisfaction. Will not return here!

Lovely spot to stop for tea and coffee. We we lured in by the sight of a teapot on one of the outside tables so looking forward to a traditional cup of tea. Our teas and coffees were served up in polystyrene cups. Teas were weak and coffee watery. To be fair, staff did try to find some mugs (although only 2 out of 5 were found) and when we asked for another tea bag to give some flavour to the warm milk (aka tea) were happy to provide this - so were trying to be helpful. However, it seemed they weren't equipped with basic crockery for the number of tables they have which was a shame as it has put me off going back. There are plenty of other places near by. The place has potential if a bit of effort could be put into getting the basics right and making sure staff can cope with slightly busier periods.

I popped in here to grab some cakes/sweets to take away and was very disappointed.Everyting was greasy and tasteless.The place didnt look too clean and the pastries didnt look very appealing.

It seemed like they were taking too much on and the food was pretty standard! Considering the amount of competition in the area, I think they may need to up their game a little. It wasn't terrible but it could've been better!

It was a sunny day and all I wanted was 2 takeaway cups of tea to take to the Marina Having paid for them I then waited over 10 minutes for one of the 5 staff milling around behind the counter to get them. Eventually done by girl who originally served me who by then had forgotten they were takeaway and put them in pottery cups resulting in more delay. The whole place seemed in chaos. The handwash only sink was full of dirty crockery contrary to hygiene laws. A cafe I n a prime tourist spot like that should be much better.

I visited here with my family after visiting the deep near by. The ladies behind the counter were really nice and the price wasn't too bad either. Unfortunately the cappuccino and mocha we purchased were very bland and tasted like warm milk rather than the said drinks. We purchased them to go so by the time we got back to the car it was too late to take them back.

Went for a walk around the city. Stumbled across this cafe which we didn't even know was there. Tiny inside the cafe, but the service and food was great. Big breakfast and Tea for around £6. Will be great to sit outside in the summer in the newly revamped area of Hull. Would go again.

I use this place for lunchtime sandwiches occasionally. They offer a good range and are also happy to make any combination you want if they have the ingredients. Tried a sit down breakfast just the once and it was good. Overall offers good food at a reasonable price.

We stopped to have alit lunch at Tasty café I had a very nice bacon bun ,the others egg buns, we all enjoyed our lunches We order in café and sat out in sun till the waiter brought out our lunch. The café was clean and tidy good service nice lunch

We stopped in here on our way to the ferry terminal for lunch. It was a small cafe but the food was delicious, warm and fresh and ideal for a quick snack. Staff were friendly and the facilities were clean.

Stopped off for a hot drink and a slice of cake during the afternoon. Cake was delicious but my hot chocolate was a bit watery and not that pleasant to drink.

While the quality of the coffee and cake we purchased was very good unfortunately the service was not. The cafe is small inside and there is some outside space but not enough chairs for the tables. We were lucky and got a table fairly easily but there were people waiting. Please supply more tables outside and make sure there are enough chairs. We eventually ordered 2 coffees and a piece of cake. It was obvious the cafe had been busy - no surprise as it was a beautiful day and the marina area was very busy. Tables still had dirty plates etc on them and although the waitress came out a couple of times she walked past the tables without taking the plates back in with her. This would have freed up a table. We did eventually get our coffee but only after reminding the waitress we hadn't got the cake. However I still had to go into the cafe to get it. I am sure the cafe lost business as it was so chaotic. I wouldn't go back again which is a shame as at the moment there aren't many places for coffee in that area especially on a Sunday.

Refuse to pay hotel premium for third rate breakfast so was delighted at how good this nearby cafe is. Just over £6 for breakfast butty and tea for 2! Excellent

Pulled off the busy main road to let the morning rush subside and found this cafe. They are really making it look good and it has great view of marina. Good coffee and delightful service.

The tasty cafe is situated on the marina and has inside sit down and take away service. So a few tables opposite road outside- directly overlooking the marina. Excellent menu- the Hot and kicking chicken fillet burger is wonderful and very reasonable at £4.50. Excellent prices for prime location . Friendly staff.

It's easy for small cafes to just serve up the usual however there is a clear attention to detail with the ingredients used at Tasty. The rolls come from a local bakery and are large, fresh and soft. The breakfast is a good size, with good thick bacon, tasty lean sausages and freshly cooked mushrooms. This coupled with the friendly staff and great location by the marina makes it a perfect pit stop with family or friends.

Although Thieving Harry's is a great place to eat if you are near Humber Street, Tasty just a few doors away takes some beating and offers clear competition. It has an extensive and imaginative menu which is reasonably priced and well..... The food is very tasty indeed!This gem offers food to take away ,eat in or sit outside and catch the sun and the service is fast and friendly.Their Mediterranean panini is superb well worth a try. I have never had a bad experience here.

My friend and I met for lunch here. The food was lovely, fast efficient service, lovely staff and very friendly. Was very reasonably priced and in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed going to Tasty and will definitely be back on our next catch up:)

Was planning on going next door but the restaurant was full so went to Tasty cafe instead. Ordered some sandwiches and drinks, service was quick and food was nice. Nothing fancy, ok food hence the average score.

It does look from outside it will be lush and fabulous, and inside it's not lol. Nothing wrong with it, mug of tea £1.10 caramel hot chocolate £2.50. Perfectly clean, friend staff. Ok for a cuppa

This Cafe is located near the marina in Hull and we had lunch here.We had a pannini, a Jacket Potato/salad and two hot drinks for £8.40 and we got to sit outside, overlooking the marina etc. My food was tailored as I am gluten free, with no fuss aswell.

My wife and I were on the marina and decided to have a breakfast, saw this modern looking café and decided to give it a try, once inside its not what we thought it would be, by todays standard of new cafe's the interior was very plain, and it went down hill from there, we ordered full English breakfasts the girl brought them to our table and just plonked them down and said knives and forks are over there, 2 minutes later 2 mugs of tea arrived, sugar and spoons over there, I know its not a restaurant but come on try to give a bit of service, but the worst was the food, yes there was a lot of it but it was all piled up in a mess with 2 under cooked eggs plonked on top and 4 pieces of warm bread on top of all that, it looked disgusting no presentation at all, it looked like the an old fashioned greasy spoon cafe's type of breakfast, less food, better presentation and a side plate for the bread would have helped, very disappointing for a new café in such a nice position.

was working on the marina and decided to have a sandwich from this establishment.bad decision.ham sandwich was pathetic.hardly any ham and the cake was only buttered on 1 half.bone dry.will not be getting my custom again.

Given where this cafe is located and how it looks from the outside, we were slightly disappointed by its ordinariness once inside. Don't get me wrong, the staff are lovely and friendly and the food we ordered hot and tasty - but I can't help thinking that with a bit of imagination this place could be so much more.

Rather than attempt to park in Princes Ave/Newland Ave in Hull both of which are full of cafes, I headed for the Marina. I had thought to go to the Wilson Gastro Bar but it is closed for refurbishment into a tapas bar (shame as their fish and chips great). Headed over the lock gates and spotted this café. Staff friendly. Had hot chocolate, caramel latte and shared a piece of flapjack. My latte and half the flapjack uninspiring. Loud radio playing in the café was turned down on request by staff. Seats not at all comfortable but it was clean. Prices are very reasonable but I'm not sure how tasty the food would be. Their advertising suggests an excellent range of cakes but I only saw burnt scones some shortbread and the uninspiring flapjack. Would rather go somewhere else in the area on next visit to the Marina area

a really nice venue with friendly staff, coffee was weak and tasted like instant even though I saw them prepare it from a machine, ordered full breakfast, after a 10 minute or so wait it arrived, the tomato, mushroom and beans were cold as if they had been put on the plate and waited for the rest of the food to be cooked, no check back and little interest in finding out if the food was ok. strong competition next door with thieving Harrys. this place does not stand a chance with poor standards like this
