The best restaurants serving British food in Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

Honestly awful!!! couldn’t check in as the reception was full to the brim with wedding guests. The wedding aftermath continued on and our room was shaking from the music until 1AM. Literally had our tv on full volume and could still hear the music over the tv sound. Reception reccomended using their library room … yes sure we will sit in a library room until 1AM :/ honestly would avoid at all costs

Nice environment. Food and coffee are quite expensive and small portions.

Walked into pub and restaurant space. Greeted with two glowing and warm real fires. Cask ales on tap. Then checked out deluxe guest room with kitchen, living space and ensuite bedroom. Bowled over by attention to detail in furnishings and under floor heating. Evening meal fabulous. Can't recommend highly enough as a gateway into Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales

very cool place. there are different classes on the second floor. had a lot of fun to do life drawing ☺️

Stayed at this hotel and had dinner here in the evening. Lovely cocktails to start for me and my daughter. Wine and meal were very nice. Every thing presented well. Good atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff pleasant and efficient. The bread brought to each table with olive oil and balsamic at the start of the meal is exceptional. To follow, I had pate, fish and chips and rhubarb posset. All lovely. Breakfast in the orangery around the olive tree is lovely too. Light and airy. We will be back

Shop weekly here. Will be sorry when little restaurant goes 11 April. Some items still missing from shelves. Last week it was sugar free sweets, liquorice torpedoes. Other weeks been Barista textured, some cat treats. Things missing vary from week to week but still feel it better than other supermarkets

Called while visiting the area, good staff and a fine mix of customers and also dog friendly to boot.

No cream again. Went into ilkley store they had none. Please get your act together. Had have alternative drink again.

Well worth a visit if you like Fawlty Towers. I asked if he could turn a light on in the snug room and he went on to tell me in detail about his utility bills. I offered to remove a few bulbs as I only needed one bulb to read my paper. I ordered a drink and was asked if I wanted 2 drinks. I was alone so I didn't need 2 at once. It was explained to me that there's a 2p charge for each transaction. I found this amusing and so did the other 2 customers who had previously been sat in the dark. The landlord who sits in the other dark room drinking a soft drink heard the laughter and asked me to take my custom elsewhere . I did.

Just popped in for some lunch , luckily we got a table it's a very nice place quiet ,very chilled staff were nice .I ordered the beef brisket sandwich it was very nice and succulent but I've got to say for the price when it turned up it was extremely small ,whilst my my friends were tucking Into a big plate of fish and chips and a nice chicken burger I kinda was left disappointed , only order the beef brisket sandwich if your on a diet

we rang about 17.30 to book a table for eight and they said that they stopped serving at 18.00 but were willing to stay open for us on are arrival we were shown to are table after a few minutes are drinks were ordered when they arrived are food was ordered this is when it gets good after a short wait the food came and what a surprise the most amazing roast dinner every one said that its probably the best dinner ever so please except are many thanks all the staff should be told that they are brilliant and we would Highley recommend this place if we are back to vist york we will return many thanks john and his family from derbyshire

Ridiculously expensive. Two bacon sandwiches and two coffees just over £19. The breadcakes were cheap supermarket standard with two small rashers of bacon. Go to one of the other cafés!

Food was an hour late , cold and missing ingredients. When I asked a waiter about the missing cheese from My Philicheese Steak sandwich he shrugged and said ‘it’s not my fault’ . Our waitress was surley from the start - possibly because the restaurant is so awful she must have been having a rubbish time. We received our drinks straight away and my father in law kept his tea to go with his food . Unfortunately, it was stone cold after the hour’s wait . 3 out of 4 of us ordered the Philicheese steak sandwiches and after waiting an hour for it , the steak was cold and there was no cheese. When we complained we were brought a cold slice of smoked cheese - when I said what about the other 2 people they almost ‘threw’ down a plate of 5 slices of this cheese. We pointed out that it was cold and should be ‘melted’ on the sandwich and also the wrong cheese entirely (I cannot stand smoked cheese and would never order anything with it in). The staff, including the manager were unapologetic and kept making excuses. As, by this time, we were in a rush to get to the cinema, we said we didn’t not have time to listen to their protracted arguments and excuses and we said we would pay for half the bill - which was more than we ate ! Awful awful place ! Don’t bother to go there !!
