The best restaurants in Harrogate Yorkshire and The Humber

Best Indian in town! It’s our tradition to get papadoms and Thali for take away almost every week and never get tire of it because the quality is the best.

We booked this restaurant over 4 months ago, only to turn up to find that it was closed!!!!! We had over an hours drive to the restaurant, as it had been recommended. The booking was for a special occasion, celebrating a friends birthday. We received notification of the booking from the booking agent the evening before as well as on the morning of the lunch booking, so there was no notification saying that the restaurant was closed. When we arrived there was a printed note on the door saying that there was a problem with the roof so it was going to be closed for a short while. There was no evidence of any building work and the tables were still set up for dining, so it seemed a very strange situation. I telephoned the restaurant and the call was transferred to an answer machine. I have still not received any feedback, which is very rude, All pre-booked diners should have been notified of the closure, as this is the only polite way to explain the situation. I have also checked the restaurant website (as I was planning to Email), and the website domain is no longer available. I can only assume that the restaurant is now permanently closed. Very unprofessional and rude!!

Ten of us descended first thing on Slingsby’s on a cold December Monday morning. We all ordered a variety of breakfast meals including full English, breakfast rolls and porridge. Everything was delicious and served with a smile and in good time. A variety of coffees and teas were also first class. We were all impressed and would recommend and return.

"Sorry, we've none left" seemed to be the only response to our order to the waiter. The so-called prawn cocktail was bordering on inedible. Watery prawns, bland Marie Rose sauce and served with supermarket brown bread. The pie to follow was highly mediocre at best, served with completely overcooked tasteless watery vegetables. I can't recommend this place and is probably the most disappointing meal I've ever had in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Rude.. I walked in to get a drink before heading home bar man walked up to me and told me to leave. I was like I've just came in.. I've done nothing wrong he said I don't care leave I was like, "Can I speak to the landlord he said he was the landlord if that's how you speak to customers I'd avoid this place at all costs lots of other more accommodating bars local to this place try them first avoid avoid avoid !

Just had a meal. It was 1st class, not to spicy good service and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend this indian restaurant.......

Lovely place to eat in Ripon, excellent friendly service, delicious food, good variety even vegetarian and vegan, highly recommend a visit here.

Meat fiesta,New York pizza with seasoned chips,the wife had a oregano special burger.Pizza and chips were fantastic, nice thin dough not over cooked and what was on top was full of flavour, seasoned chips were dam nice also.The burger was meaty, juicy and flavoursome with a nice soft bun and great chips.Top place!!👍👍👍

Fantastic selection of cheeses from all over the UK. Also, good selection of biscuits/chutney to complement the cheeses. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely visit again

Great atmosphere, with the staff being very friendly and helpful. The coffee was good, the food is good and the cakes are very good!

Personally I thought this was a great experience, a warming atmosphere and a great space it made me feel positive from the start. I ordered the fish cake to start and it was delicious, the sauce added a lovely flavour on top of the tasty and perfected fish cake it was truly splendid. For my main course I had a burger although I was at a nice establishment I was ready for a nice dirty burger, although I say dirty it wasn’t dirty at all but still had the right ingredients top class it as a dirty burger, it was tasty cooked too perfection and the right size after a good starter. On the whole my experience at this amazing restaurant/ pub was amazing such friendly faces and good jokes mad the atmosphere very comforting, and this was topped off by a delightful meal.

Real ale kept well, tastes great and served with a smile and friendly chat.
