Visiting Knaresborough and spotted this place had great reviews. Warm welcome on arrival, wide choice on the menu and delicious food (helps if you eat with people who like sharing food). Hope to return on a future visit. Beautiful town with wonderful food.

We popped in after having a stroll around Knaresborough and asked if they did a home delivery service. Very friendly staff. Food arrived promptly and was absolutely stunning. Up there with some of the best eleven eaten. Already planning our next trip in which we will dine at the restaurant.

Food was nice but seemed a bit expensive for what got, but i liked the food though, don’t expect free popadoms with the pickle though.🤔 Not like other Indian takeaways do!

Been here a couple of times now. The food is perfect! Staff are un-faultable and will customise any meal to your requirements. The only reason I gave 4 stars for atmosphere is because it was quiet and I cant understand why. It should be full. This place is amazing.

This is honestly the best Indian in knaresborough. I know all the rest in knaresborough are good and this place does not look busy and may change ur mind. Please trust me as a curry lover this is the best place in knaresborough!!!!!

Just discoverd this little resteraunt by default as our choice across the road was closed, & thank god they were. Ali greeted, cooked, seved, on his own (monday night)& chatted to us as we complimented him on one of the best currys we have had & yes we are connoseurs!! Tremendous food ignore the surroundings!

Unassuming from the outside but the food was delicious!! Lots of vegetarian options and the staff were so friendly, will definitely be coming back when we are in Knaresborough again.

There weren't very many options, I'm not sure if I read the whole thing, it was my dad's birthday and I would recommend! although the bathrooms were very weird (ish) the lock was broken, there was nothing up there, needs more maintenance or decorations upstairs though. although it's quite nice!

Best Indian food my wife and I have tasted. Staff very friendly, polite and very accommodating. Menu easy to read and doesn't overload you with too many options. Good range of vegetarian options available. Lovely warm atmosphere and option to bring own alcohol if desired with shops near by. Nice atmosphere, not noisy and very comfortable seating. Food very well presented and not over seasoned like you find in many Indian restaurants and takeaways. The food was delicious and highly recommended. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. My wife and I decided eat at Dil Raj.on Monday 27th January early evening. Service was great food was excellent would certainly recommend.

We had a lovely, chilled evening in this lovely, authentic restaurant. It was excellent value, the food was lovely and there was a wide and varied menu including vegan options that they were very happy to personalise. We had wonderful service from Ali. Especially recommend the chani puri and the naans which were fantastic. We all enjoyed our meals and can highly recommend. We look forward to returning next time we are in Knaresborough.

Brilliant find and a little gem of a restaurant in the heart of knaresborough, managed to fit us in at last minute on New Year’s Eve and the service and food was brilliant. Amazing value for money and choice as well. Will be visiting again when in the area.

Great food and super friendly service. Bring your own drinks, or there is a Tesco express near nearby. Everything is labeled clearly for food allergies etc. Great gluten free vegetarian options as well as vegan. The chef is very accommodating to dietary requirements. I had the Saag vegetable with added mushrooms and mushroom rice, one of the nicest dishes I have ever had in an Indian restaurant. The prices are great value for money, hats off to the chef We will be back 😁😁

Excellent curry restaurant, best we have found by a long way. It must be the 10th time we have been and it’s consistently good. Also a bonus that they don’t mind if you take your own alcohol. What a little gem.

I'm absolutely disgusted! We come here all thr time and thr staff were So SLOW tonight! Get it into gear we've just been to Portugal and we had a curry and they were fast and efficient this is how it shoyluld be be lucky you're in this country!!

Came early to eat, restaurant very quiet but food is excellent, staff very pleasant and welcoming. Would recommend Cafe style, but you come to eat the food not the furniture

First time we used them and would deffo order again. Had to call the restaurant when I realised I hadn’t updated the delivery address to reflect where I was and not my home address. The staff were very helpful and corrected immediately. Great food and service 👌

Truly is THE best Indian in Knaresborough. Haven't had one for ages and it was absolutely brilliant. Excellent Dupiaza and Tikka Masala. Delivered on time with a smile . Never been disappointed with them. 10/10.

Great food and service in a basic but clean and very friendly environment. As a former resident of the Bingley/Keighley area this restaurant stands up well against the well known celebrated restaurants from that region. Recommended! Vicky & Nick

Ali and Adil always make us welcome with a friendly smile on arrival. I try different items from the menu each week and they are all excellent. Taking your own booze helps to make it a very affordable night out every week and Saturday night without the Dil Raj just isn't the same. If you've not visited you don't know what you are missing and my views are based on being a customer since they opened - here's to the next 30 years.

Our Saturday nights would not be the same without our visits to the Dil Raj. Always guaranteed a warm welcome from Ali and Adil and great service throughout. A really good menu with lots of choice, we are never disappointed. The fact we can take our own alcohol makes our visits such great value. The place is looking really fresh a clean after it's recent makeover too! Thanks to Ali, the owner, for continuing to run a super little restaurant in our town.

The food was very average. The lamb tasted like wool, and there wasn’t a lot of meat in the curries. The naan breads were crispy which made it difficult to eat the curry with. It was an okay eat. Overall a lot more better curries.

Always a delight ordering from Dil Raj. Comes hot and tasty. I've never been disappointed. Has come earlier than expected which is always great when I'm hungry 😀

Nan bread was rubbery and tasteless. Curry nice but needed more sauce it was too dry. Disappointing

delivery was late, but got an apology, but the food was cold and had to reheat. The garlic naan bread was just naan bread, not very garlic.

First time ordering. Chicken Tikka Masla sauce was just tomato paste, really awful, personally not to our liking at all. The cheese nan had no cheese on it, infact my hubby thought it was just a plain nan that we had ordered by mistake but on checking it was definitely a cheese one we ordered! On the only plus side the starters we ordered were ok.... but only one tiny small salad for all the starters ordered. Shame about the mains, unfortunately will not be ordering again!

3 of us popped in for a meal here on Saturday night and it was brilliant .one of the party was a vegetarian and basically ordered something not on the menu ,nothing was a problem and the staff were really attentive. They had loads of ideas of stuff to try .I normally don't like lime pickle but this place has hone made stuff and it was so nice 👌 The food was delicious and really authentic 😋 we will definitely be back when passing that way again .

In Knaresborough for the night. Wanted a traditional Indian. Some dishes on the menu we'd not heard of, so could try something new. The mixed started Dil sizzler was great. Mix of Onion Bhaji, Tandoori Chicken, lamb etc. Partner had a Lamb Masala with boiled rice which was in a rich tasty sauce, lamb was very tender. I had chicken Khandari, never had this before, again cooked great, chicken was tender and the dish was flavoursome. Nan was nice & thin & cooked just right. Service was good and the owner was chatty & engaging. Took some feedback on board.

Take your own beer or wine and enjoy a stunning indian meal. We have celebrated many birthdays, with friends and family at the Dil Raj for more than 20 years. We have enjoyed great food from Ali and his team, in a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend the restaurant for small group celebrations or a casual dining experience or take away. Special offer on on dine in menu Sunday and Thursday evenings.

I’ve gone pure Raj more than once but never tried Dil Raj. Safe to say it’s the tastiest purest Raj in town, highly recommended.

Sadly disappointing - korma had chicken tikka pieces mixed in so tasted strange and only 5 pieces of actual chicken?!? Cheese naan in plastic bag on top of all food so arrived cold. Poppadoms broken to little pieces. Onion bhajis tasteless - only one box of salad which was disappointing. Chicken jalfrezi was bland but chicken tasted ok. Mixed grill - chewy lamb, kebab was rubbery and somehow the onions were hard? Sad experience to say we ordered after seeing such positive reviews! Driver did arrive early which was great but poor packaging especially the naans and loudest delivery driver we have ever had on the estate - music blaring like it was Saturday night which isn’t great when you have a little one napping.

On time. As ordered. Only thing was we do found it very oily. The oil had leaked out of the containers which was a little off putting.

Naga and Dill Raj donners are amazing but please deliver them to the front door not the side.

Delivery driver lost his way and then broke down. Food not so hot upon arrival. I now need to find a new curry house.

Arrived 2 hours after placing the order, making it well over an hour late. Called and was told it had left 5 mins ago, it arrived about 35 minutes after that! Clap cold and items missing.

Great meal and great service. The Thursday evening dine-in special is a solid deal with a set price for a starter, main plus rice or naan. BYOB is nice as well. Everyone in our party enjoyed the experience!
