Great atmosphere, with the staff being very friendly and helpful. The coffee was good, the food is good and the cakes are very good!

Met a friend here for brunch on 1st July. We had bacon sandwiches & Cafe Lattes . Really like this Cafe, great decor and atmosphere!!!. The Owner is very welcoming and the staff fantastic, and prices are very reasonable, that's why it's always busy!!!! Will be back soon!!!

First visit very impressed my colleagues/friends had sandwiches looked nice. I had the beetroot salad which was nice if not a bit simple and over laden with onions. Return visit with another colleague..similar my colleague had a sandwich looked nice. I ordered beetroot salad but was told no beetroot then they found some..the salad was not much lot of leaves onions odd tomatoe beetroot bit of cheese..not much too it and the bread not impressed it said came with ciabatta not sure it was. Nice little cafe so will give it another go and maybe try a sandwich. Think prices are steep for the simplicity of sandwich or salad. Staff seem nice n feiendly

Great coffe house , exceptional service , a bit dissapointed with the quality of the bread on our bacon barms , bread was very lightweight and a bit sweet , had better. Well worth a visit and reasonably priced.

This place really does do great coffee. Could do with more brunch options (sourdough/avo etc) but otherwise can’t complain.

We visited here twice while we were staying the neighbourhood. I'm surprised it is not right at the top of the Trip Advisor reviews as it is excellent in every aspect - the decor, ambience, service, coffee and food. Their coffee, using their own Red Kite brand, was excellent. My flat white came with the most perfect pattern both times too! Their filled bagels are delicious and filled with fresh ingredients. I hope this is the correct place to review as their address was 2 Westmoreland Street and this says 8 Westmoreland Street.

Booked Saturday night for drinks and sharing boards with friends. Was the only people in when we arrived at 6pm but it got busier as the evening went on. Sam was running it on his own, very friendly and even when it got busier he remained unstressed and attentive to everyone, and extremely efficient. Sharing boards were great and ample for 2 for sharing over social drinks. The venue has a great atmosphere and is a perfect place for a catch up with friends in a great cosy setting with great service and atmosphere.! Will definitely be back again and would like to try the daytime coffee shop too. 5 stars!

I loved this place. I had an hour to kill with a sleeping baby but I could have stayed all day. Amazing coffee, cakes and food

I regularly pop in for a pot of earl grey tea plus possibly a sandwich.. the staff are very helpful and friendly in a clean well run location plus one of the owners has a lovely yellow Labrador... my favourite xxx

Great ambience with friendly and helpful service. All food looked delightful and the triple chocolate brownies that we tried were, indeed, wonderful. Sadly my coffee was less impressive than I expected from a coffee house - it was weak and watery so perhaps I should have asked for an extra shot although I wasn’t offered that option. Get the coffee right and this place could be unbeatable.

This has become our de facto place to head to on a Saturday morning for brunch. The sandwiches and cakes (oh, the cakes!) are spot-on, and their own Red Kite Coffee is excellent. My wife does also head along to see Oscar (their dog) who's an added bonus!

Can't even do a filter coffee which is not good for a coffee house better coffee at the sandwich shop just up the street and there food nice and fresh sad but I will not be back if you're a coffee shop get the coffee right is it to much to ask

Only nipped in for a takeaway coffee and got greeted by a lovely dog and very friendly staff. The red kite coffee was lovely as well. Looking forward to going back.

We enjoyed having lunch here. The food is all freshly made, and the barista was very knowledgeable. He told us they produce their own coffee and it was very very nice. We also had a lovely Brie, spinach and cranberry panini, which was very tasty. We will definitely return.

Visited this cafe on the first of march this year and re-visited today just for a Latte with my Mother.Latte is Very tasty! Nice interior in the cafe and friendly polite helpful guys running it.Will return very soon!.

This is our favourite coffee place in Harrogate - comfortable and stylish space, friendly staff and probably the best coffee in town. Nice cakes and sandwiches too. Good for children too.

Relaxed atmosphere. Nice drinks. Slightly strange layout. Couldn't have a private chat because of layout. But nice staff.

Visited today just for a Latte with my mother.Lovely coffee quite big mugs and quite cheap at £2.40 each.Nice decor inside cafe and friendly chaps working there,only slight let down there wasnt any toast or toasted teacakes.Would come here for coffee again though.

What a beautiful little coffee shop this is. I was having a bad day at work so popped in on my lunch break for a coffee and some peace and quiet ... i wasn’t disappointed. Friendly staff, amazing coffee and fairly comparable price to most coffee chains. I went back to work suitably chilled out after a pleasant little break.

Came here because it is one of the recommended coffee shops in the Northern independent coffee guide. Harrogate is blessed with a number good coffee spots but we fancied chilling out on a sofa and this had really comfy ones! Friendly service and really good reasonably priced coffee. My wife loved that the hot milk was served in a mini milk bottle.

We went to the westmorland cafe for a quick bite. It was pretty empty (it was past lunchtime) which for us was a bonus because we have a small child.

Quite simply the best coffee in North Yorkshire. The owner must have a doctorate in the art of making coffee. Truly worth a visit.

Best coffee shop in Harrogate or definitely one of the top two (with Bean and Bud). Coffee is consistently amazing, great staff and relaxing atmosphere. Slightly off the beaten track but really worth the five minute walk from town centre, you won't be disappointed. Flat white highly recommended.

Had a great chill with latte and scrummy sandwich staff were friendly and helpful in a clean tidy setting with plenty of parking nearby

This a lovely coffee shop with great coffee. I was really confused by their decision to have stray FM playing? Listening to Harrogate traffic updates was hardly relaxing as I was sipping on my drink. It doesn't really fit with the vibe of the shop and was a little bit unbearable if I am honest. Apart from that it's decent.

Best coffee I've had in a long time. The guys are really nice, always help me in with my pram too. I haven't personally tried the food yet but it looks really good!

Excellent coffee and very friendly personal service. Great care taken in making it. Nice cakes and pastries. Very laid-back place altogether. Comfy sofas to linger on. Only minus points are toilets in basement - hard for disabled persons - and piped music rather too loud. Thoroughly recommended anyway.

I've visited here a couple of times and although they claim to be child and dog friendly they are neither. I have found that one member of staff actively discourages mums and I their babies from going in, as for dogs I asked could mine go in and was told yes but if it upsets other customers then you'll have to leave, do I stay and wait to see if my dog 'offends' anyone or do I just find somewhere else? Well I went to find somewhere else!

Westmoreland Coffee House serves first class and very tasteful coffee. The Cappuccino is delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming with an aim for personal service. First visited several weeks ago by chance and now it has become a regular coffee stop on my way to appointments in Harrogate. Service is quick and friendly with personal service from the owner. When time permits this is my first stop in Harrogate. They provide takeout as well. Highly recommended.

The food and sweet treats were on point as well as the coffee!! Visited with some friends and we were all delighted....friendly service and great atmosphere. Highly recommended. A good quality selection of food and sweet treats. Will return again!Thank you :)

Some considered thought has gone into making the place a very cool place to hang out. The coffee is on a par with the best I've ever had and if your visiting Harrogate it's worth the effort to put on your list of things to do! So, it is for me on the edge of being an uber cool cafe experience. I only critique on the basis that I am being picky and purely an observation on my part that it has an under current of heterosexism that expresses a lack of insight into a wider customer experience! There is a slight clickyness to the clientele that seems obvious sometimes to the detriment to other customers. I can overlook this because the coffee, cake and food is excellent. It could be amazing.

Westmorland coffee shop is simply one of the best in Harrogate. A regular post parkrun visit for us. Great for kids too with smoothies and babyccinos.

Popped in after a visit to a local hairdressers. The flat white was good. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly.

We find this coffee place really great .well served and fantastic flavour . Better premises means a better atmosphere. Mistake I read the guy who complained . The owner is very.knowlegable and has a certain charm about him . He takes his coffee seriously so do I

I visited with a voucher for 3 free coffees I had won at a quiz. The owner gave me a hard time saying the guy running the quiz shouldn't have given them out. Ok- um. Way to treat new customers? Eventually he agrees to honour the voucher. As he gave me the coffee (which was super), I was looking around for sweetner. He was literally outraged, saying he doesn't carry it and that a good coffee doesn't need it, sweetner is bad for you, etc. Needless to say, I didn't return for the other two, which is a shame since it was gorgeous. Just make my coffee and get over yourself please.

I go here very often, the coffee is probably the best I have had in a long time second only to Italy where I have worked often in the past. A good selection of sandwiches and cakes etc which are brought in from other premium retailers in the area which maintains quality throughout.

Love this coffee. Jamie the owner knows his stuff and a relaxed environment with my kinda music too. One to take a book to or watch the world go by through the huge Windows...

Popped in for a quick coffee after dropping the other half's trousers off across the road for adjustment - had 2 coffee's of creamy smooth quality and a pain au chocolate. I would also say they had a good selection of sandwiches which could be served hot or cold. The conversion from the previous art gallery has been done well and with large open windows makes a light airy space. Could see other people having a meeting using the larger tables and staff were polite and efficient.

Wandered past yesterday and popped popped in for coffee. Was tempted by cakes too! Nice sofas and the Guardian to read. Had never noticed the previous premises but this is a nice coffee shop ,with pleasant and friendly staff who make good coffee and cakes.

Two takeaway lattes, Great coffee, can't really expand much more than that, Yet to go into their new premises but looks nice when I've walked past

Moved a few doors down now on the corner with lots more space, great coffee and at his suggestion he said try it without sugar and he was right, didn't need it, smooth mellow just great.

I never went to the smaller coffee shop, but since they have moved I am delighted to see its bigger! I love coffee and drink it all the time, always in search of a really good one. I am pleased to say that this delivers. My only disappointment was that the take away cup wasn't big enough! The coffee was great, but I would like a larger one, its a standard size to take away. Maybe they will offer a small and large in time to come. I don't know the opening times, but hopefully they are open on a Saturday and Sunday and if they sell pastries, even better! Deffo going to be come a regular!

hidden away this little coffee shop is amazing the owner clearly knows his stuff and make you feel welcome. They are moving location soon to bigger premises and I can't wait.

A tiny cafe, specializing in and serving excellent genuine coffee. I am not generally a coffee drinker, but what was provided as a latte could well turn me into an enthusiast.. Excellent choice of cakes and the home made ones we ate were delicious. Friendly prompt service, including an interesting introduction to the coffee drinkers' world. Didn't like the music , but then that's always my problem with background music. Liked the adverts on the radio even less, but forgave them for the quality of everything else.

a really nice new coffee shop in Harrogate, in the Devonshire Place area, we used to call it High Harrogate, does anyone still do that? Its a nice friendly place, the guy who runs it knows what he's doing and this is a really well presented independent place, and the lattes are great!

Around Westmorland Street, Harrogate there is a thriving independent community of specialist shops.

We often stop by walking home and the coffee and goodies are great. They do nice salads for lunch and are very friendly. Well worth a stop.

A small but perfect place on Westmoreland Street in High Harrogate. The offerings are limited but as a result there is good coffee, delicious salads and brownies. Very pleasant service from friendly owner. There is a lot of takeaway service and the tables are few but it is a bit of an oasis on that side of the town.
