Farrah's Olde Sweet Shop in Harrogate

Really nice little shop with lots of gifts. Little expensive, but expected for Harrogate. Selection of chocolates at front were lovely, apple strudel white chocolate was incredible.

Old fashioned until you get in - i was hoping you could get bags and you ask how much you want in them - instead bags are pre packed and the cost was way too high. My wife did get a bag of sweets and admittedly they were tasty! But not worth the cost in my opinon.

Me and a friend popped in for a quick look but found this store just keeps going and going, from sweets at the entrance to biscuit tins on to candles and wax melts then a children’s section then gardening. This store has everything! I found it mid range prices but if you look around long enough you will find some cheaper treats, you’re bound to leave with something!

Prices are reasonable, staff are very friendly, they stock lots of Farrah's gift boxes which are very nice. It's not your usual American or Simm's sweet shop, this is the genuine article. Recommended.

A sweet fanatics dream. All the sweet you could ever think of are here. The cabinet full of individual chocolates are wonderful.

You can buy old sweets here but I bought the new ones. I like sweets.

Pricey but good choice. We visited the shop and bought sugar free options for grand children and for myself as I’m diabetic. I was told I could reorder online but no sugar feee options on website. Pity.

This shop is amazing for the choice and variety of all types of sweets. It sells a lot of sweets you cannot get elsewhere. You must make a visit when in Harrogate.

We were surprised by the variety this shop offered, we went in looking for sugar free sweets of which they had a good choice. The staff seemed helpful and friendly.

Food was delicious, staff were really friendly, great experience all round, everywhere else was really busy and being through and above the sweet shop made us abit unsure as to whether or not to visit but don't be put off by that, EXTREMELY lovely Cafe and would definitely visit again!

visited this shop after having lunch in cafe upstairs. Wanted to buy a souvenir of my day out in Harrogate.I settled for a tin of Yorkshire biscuits,but there were plenty of other nice things,the sweets looked good too.

Always nice to go to farrahs when I come back to Harrogate, and great vegan choices .

Plenty of choice in all shapes and sizes, quantity and prices. Their fudge is always a favourite for presents.

We were trying to find a cafe for tea and cakes but most places were too busy then we spotted a sign for the cafe in this sweet shop. We had a tea and scone special and the scones were excellent. We spotted some interesting things for lunch but unfortunately it was our last day in Harrogate on this trip. Definitely going back for lunch next time.

Lots of interesting things here including tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits and gift ideas. The staff who we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful.

Just had lunch here having failed to get into Betty's. Excellent value menu with superb cakes. Lunch deal of homemade soup and a very well filled wrap for £7.50. Excellent friendly service with solid Covid precautions in place. Will certainly return.

We stayed overnight in Harrogate during a few days travelling on the Motorcycle. We walked past this shop during the evening and vowed to return before we left for home in the morning in order to buy gifts for our kids. We weren't disappointed. The shop was so much bigger than it looked from the outside and had the most beautiful range of gifts and sweets all sorts for sale. Due to limited packing space on a bike we were only able to purchase some small bits and pieces but these were adored by the recipients. Would love to co e back for another mooch about. Lovely friendly lady behind the counter too.

Amazing sweet shop, hundreds of different sweets, chocolates, fudges, truffles. Good selection of gifts and humorous signs, the shop may look tiny from the front but just keeps on going.....

This place is wonderful! so many choices of sweets from years ago and also lots of nice christmas stuff to put in the kids stockings! Beware you will be tempted and possibly spend tooo much but don't forget your "Yorkshire Tea"!

Kept us browsing for half an hour or so before we finally made our decisions. Lots to look at and quality merchandise.

Came across this by chance while wandering around. I am old enough to remember proper sweets you bought by weight out of a glass jar. I have never seen such a selection pre-weighed and there were many other offering for the tourist and confectionery aficionados. I bought some sweet tobacco and Scottish butter tablet. Definitely worth a visit. It is not cheap but you will find a treasure from your childhood that you cannot put a price on !

If you are looking for a huge choice of reasonably priced confectionery you cannot go wrong by coming to this shop. The variety on offer is mind boggling!

As we went to the palm court cafe upstairs we had a look at the sweets downstairs we didn’t buy any as you can get some of the sweets a lot cheaper in town

Coffee and cake delicious. Served by a lovely, friendly young girl. Good selection of cakes, scones etc. Sweet and gift shop on ground has everything a chocolate/sweet lover could want.some nice gift ideas too.

Sweet shop in Harrogate with great flair and very tasty sweets. Their large variety of traditional English toffees, fudges and chocolates make great gifts for loved ones back home. Pricey, but worth the money. Enter with children at your own risk!

I only wanted Harrogate toffee to bring home, however bought so much more. I could have spent hours in this shop as it was delightful. Yorkshire at its best with with so much to choose from.

This is a truly traditional sweet shop on the edge of the town centre in the up market Montpellier area. They stock both their own products, made locally in Harrogate, and other producers. The range includes traditional products not now widely available. Your spoilt for choice!The staff are very welcoming and friendly giving good service and assistance.

Brought some Chocolate gingers here to give as presents and chose some handmade chocolates to share both excellent quality and very nice staff serving also

Best place to go for a little gift from Harrogate, full of Yorkshire specialities for sweets to cakes plus lots of old favourite sweets you haven’t had since you were at school.

Lovely little sweet shop. Lots to choose from with lots of retro sweets. Lots of flavours of jelly beans too. Lots of little gifts and souvenirs as well. They sell post cards of Harrogate for 40p. Lovely staff very willing to help. Even sell insulated lunch boxes (they are soft and fold up £3.99) Lots to choose from. Definitely worth a visit!

Lovely old sweatshop with a fantastic selection of sweets, I was spoiled for choice. Purchased a good selection and have been very pleased with them. Would certainly return when next in Harrogate.

What can I say about this lovely old fashioned sweet shop? It is full of sweet toothed delights and the staff will not pester you as you browse the various delights. Some of the chocolates are a bit pricey it has to be said but based on my own experience of their wares, you can definitely taste the difference between their products and other chocolate brands. Think Thorntons but better. They also sell fluffy toys, mugs, and other touristy things at the back of the shop and there's also a cafe on site but we did not visit it but it certainly smelt nice.

I visited here on a very hot July day, this is the ideal spot to treat yourself to an ice cream!

popped in and what a delight, such a lovely shop, so many varieties of fudge and gifts, I bought ginger fudge and chocolate and orange.

This shop is full of confectionery of every sort, not just sweets but also cakes and they have a lot of gifts as well. Prices are reasonable. I go there for Bothem's of Whitby cakes which are better value than Betty's.

The cafe upstairs at Farrah's food hall was moderately priced and well worth a visit. The cakes were very tasty and the Yorkshire Rarebit was an interesting variation on its more illustrious Welsh cousin.

This shop has a vast selection of confectionery including many old fashioned favourites and nice quality chocolates. Also consider the very good traditional style tearoom upstairs.

There is not many traditional sweets missing in Farrah's, there are plenty of other foods and gifts available too. The shop is well worth a visit.

This is a great shop to stock up on souvenirs such as fudge, teas, cards, British foodstuffs, and when you are finished shopping there is a lovely cafe upstairs serving cream teas, afternoon teas and light snacks - get a table by the window.

We had a lovely afternoon tea here last week that was £15.95 for two and had a nice range of sandwiches and cakes. We thought it very good value in comparison to another tea shop close by. Everything on their was delicious and the staff very friendly. The only criticism if there is one that it could maybe do with cheering up a little but was clean and tidy and no complaints on the food. The shop downstairs has a lovely range of foodie gifts and a great range of sweets etc

I have lived in Harrogate all my life, and Montpellier has always been an affluent area, hence Farrahs food hall is no exception. A lovely cafe and gift shop, don't come and not come in here it's a treat.

Everything is nice. Service, cakes, atmosphere. Always come here when we go to Harrogate. Not flash like Betty's, the way tearooms used to be.

Nice place, clean, tidy, nothing extraordinary but clearly catering for either the tourists who couldn't get into Betty's or the locals who know better. Nice stop for Afternoon Tea if you're a lady of leisure with an hour to kill. There are worse places serving similar, there are better, but maybe I just take a bit of impressing?!

Stepping into Farrah's is like a trip down memory. The range of sweets is straight out of my childhood and there's even sweet 'tobacco'! Unlike the corner sweet shops where there were shelves full of jars, all of the sweets are pre packed in clear plastic bags and quite a bit more expensive than "back in the day", but its fun to search through the shelves for your favourite indulgence. Further into the shop you'll find a large selection of gifts and upstairs you'll find the Palm Court Cafe 😊

This is the best sweetshop I have seen for a long time. There is a huge variety from posh chocs to children's favourites, as well as a range of sugar free diabetic sweets. At the back of the shop is a good range of gifts and tourist items. They also sell a limited range of other foods such a crisps, jams, biscuits, beers etc mostly from local suppliers. It is on the Crown roundabout in the Montpellier Quarter of Harrogate very close to where the tourist buses drop off and collect their passengers. Above the shop on the first floor is an excellent teashop.

Very old and good traditional tea served.in an atmospheric place, A little tight on space, but adds to the ambiance.

On this visit we had eaten elsewhere before visiting the sweetshop downstairs but you can always have a coffee before heading back home so popped upstairs. We were lucky enough to get a seats with a view of Valley Gardens. Great staff too.

Such a really lovely selection of sweets, liquorice, fudges, toffees, chocolates and biscuits. Brilliant for foodie gifts. I could spend a fortune in here.
