A good little cheese shop with a wide selection of cheeses, specialising in British cheese, including some local ones. The staff who served us was very knowledgable and provided us with an insight into local cheese.

Selection is ok, not spectacular. As usual, many cheddar and blue cheese options but few of the rest. The person who assisted me was not particularly engaging. The Irish cheese that I bought following my own instincts was awesome.

Cheesy heaven, just the smell of this place should require an entrance fee. Knowledgable staff who spend the time to help you choose from the generous selection of cheeses. They also stock pickles, relishes, crackers, cheese boards and other related foodstuffs.

Amazing selection of cheeses and chutneys. But after paying I saw that they sell foie gras which I cannot condone, hence 3/5. And sadly, won't go again.

Great cheese at The Cheeseboard shop all year round, we also did the beer and cheese night 30th June 2022 with Roosters it was awesome, loads of great cheese and beer, well worth the money!

Unfortunately I wasnt overly impressed with the cheese bought. The staff themselves are very friendly and highly knowledgeable but for me this Christmas the cheese selection just didn't hit the mark for me. Maybe a miss understanding with regards to the requirement and maybe down to my own fault for not sampling before buying. The Rabbit pate on the other hand really wasn't to our taste which was a shame.

I bought some cheese from this shop when it first opened 🤔 40 years ago! The service today was brilliant. And the smell in the shop 😋

The Cheeseboard provided a tied cheese cake for our wedding in September. They were easy to liaise with throughout. Knowledgable on both taste and appearance. We had many compliments on how tasty the cheese was. Would definitely recommend.

I've always shopped here and they have been fantastic during lockdown delivering their cheese which has been a real treat! They've been great at making suggestions and I've tried some lovely new cheeses. A lovely little shop :)

Superb little cheese shop, with a fantastic range of local, regional and European cheeses. Staff incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly providing great advice. Great range of high quality biscuits and chutneys etc, and lovely gift baskets. We’ve also had cheeses specially vacuum packed (in the shop) to take as a gift to my Yorkshire family living overseas.

This place is to die for. A cheese based heaven, who's sublime contents are incredibly bad for my waist line and wallet. Not to be missed by any serious cheese lover.

Simply the best shop in Harrogate.

A very fine cheese shop, and you can taste the wares, but this isn't a restaurant. it doesn't belong in these listings. So beware if you're setting off here hoping for a repast.

I remember this place opening in 1981 and what a joy it was to be able to buy cheese at its best and have access to such knowledge from the owners. I'm not sure whether the owners still work in the store but in any case, the staff are certainly as knowledgeable now. An absolute pleasure to source cheese here, make it a part of your visit to Harrogate as we did. Check out their website, you will not be disappointed.

Fabulous selection of cheeses and absolutely love the Rhuby crumble cheese, Wensleydale with rhubarb.

We happened upon this little shop whilst perusing Harrogate and brought a selection of Cheeses to take to family that evening. The two ladies working were fantastic in helping us choose a lovely Brie with Truffle, Smoked Cheddar and a strong Blue. With a little taster of each we were soon agreed and the three cheeses were nicely wrapped up in paper.Our hosts loved them that evening and being local themselves have plans to pop in and see the array on offer for themselves.

We were visiting Harrogate recently and happened upon the Cheeseboard while out exploring the city. Wonderful selection of cheeses as well as condiments to serve with cheese. Outstanding extra sharp cheeses!

Came here for a gift to send to a friend in America, and have to say the people working there were top class.. Helped me with my individual needs and very friendly and professional service.. My favourite shop in Harrogate. Awesome selection of cheeses and service to die for. The owner cares and will go out of her way to make sure you get what you want. They help with recommendations and are just totally brilliant. I had my wedding cake done by these guys and am always popping in to make sure my fridge is stocked with cheeses. Highly recommended if you like cheese.

I had contacted this shop six months before our holiday and they advised they would be able to order in our favourite French cheese, St Marcellin if I gave them a few weeks notice which I did. I thorough recommend this shop for its great service and the cheese was delicious as well

Such a pleasure to visit (as Monty Python might describe) a veritable cheese emporium of the highest order. No competition, most knowledgable and helpful expertise on offer!

From hundreds of choices, we settled on 6 to try. Buttertubs is melt-in-your-mouth creamy and Coverdale has a lovely light crunchy texture.

If you love cheese this shop sells all kinds imaginable. We visit every time we are on Harrogate. Great selection and service.

Although this is a very small shop, it has an amazing range of cheeses, not only locally sourced but from further afield as well. The staff seemed very knowledgeable about each cheese and were more than happy to allow any cheese to be tasted. If you enjoy good cheeses beyond the limited fayre found in supermarkets then this is the place to visit.

Me encanta poder llegar un precioso, bien cuidado poco de queso. Mucho mejor que uno guardado en plástico. Una buena selección de quesos para elegir además de un montón de obsequios para ir con. Probé la fruta de mostaza que fui con el queso azul que compré. Una cena divertida además de fiesta, pero no todos le gustan. Algunas aceitunas y tres cerdos salami y yo era bueno para ir. Sólo una pequeña tienda pero independiente local. Me encanta la calle comercial.

El personal era muy servicial y el queso Junta t tienen una gran variedad de quesos y productos interesantes en frascos. Cuando tengo un queso y vino 'do' me dan el queso de aquí, con la oportunidad de probar antes de comprar, que supera las ofertas de supermercado.

Fuimos a la tienda a comprar un poco de queso y no estaba seguro de cuál comprar. Cuando llegamos había mucho para elegir, la chica que nos servía era muy servicial. La tienda es una visita obligada para todos los amantes del queso y el wensleydale compramos allí es increíble, volveré seguro que en nuestra próxima visita.

Lovely little gem for cheese lovers , and the lady is lovely and informative and even offers a taster of a cheese to see if suits your pallet which most do , but made me try a goats cheese which now love

This shop supplied my Christmas cheese board! Spent about £50 and got a wide selection of British and French cheeses. The quince paste and truffle infused honey were great to go with the cheese and the Bree was amazing.

This isn't a restaurant but a shop, and what a shop it is, if you love cheese then this is a must visit place.They have a vast selection of top quality cheeses from around the world, I find the staff incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, the quality of the cheese is second to none.Of course this quality comes at a price and I mean a hefty price, it's certainly expensive but if you want quality this is what it costs.

We visited Harrogate for the weekend and ended up in this Cheese shop two days running, so impressed were we by the cheese we bought the first day. We came back the next day to buy more take home. Very impressed with one of the Swaledale and Wensleydale varieties. Service was very knowledgable and good - something of a rarity these days in the age of the Chain shops!! I like the name of the shop too.

The cheese selection was unbelievable. The person in the shop had an encyclopaedic knowledge of her cheeses. Tasting was offered and most appreciated. The cheeses we bought and had later were exceptional. A must for any cheese lover.

I bought two cheeses on Saturday - one brie and one mature cheddar. By lunch time the next day the brie was starting to go hard and the mature had gone off. Really disappointed considering I only got 100g of each and spent nearly £7! Customers, make sure you ask for fresh cheese!

return visit - every time i go to harrogate visit the cheeseboard - for a small shop there is an amazing selection - staff are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable - for a cheese lover it is a must - the "stinking bishop" always scares my wife (she is a Geordie & doesn't scare easily !)

We have lived in the area for years but had never been to The Cheeseboard until we got a voucher from Living Social to get £10 worth of cheese for only £5. The shop smells wonderful when you go in, and the choice is overwhelming. The assistant was very helpful in making suggestions and giving us tastes of each cheese we selected. We came away with 3 wonderful cheeses which we took to a dinner pary that evening. Everyone agreed they were so tasty, so different from what you can get in supermarkets. We will definately be back.

Quick stop at the cheeseboard!! If you like cheese, seriously you'll be in heaven!! Definitely try the Yorkshire smoked Wensleydale, its possibly my favourite cheese ever!!
