First visit to this little gem! Had yummy Eegs Benedict/ Eggs Royale and tea. Definitely worth a visit! Had our newborn with us - can just about fit a pram in the corner, so we were lucky! :)

Had a breakfast bap . Sausage could have done with some extra cooking and didn’t taste the best quality . Dirty mug given for tea with a spoon in the mug no saucer . Not the best look . Had to ask for a clean mug which then smelt musty as made me think tea towel used to dry it must have been wet ! Tables weren’t clean and the floor and pedestal under the table was dusty and dirty. Chef went out the back door for a smoke and when he came back in could smell the smoke on him. Wouldn’t return !

I was on the lookout for a great place for breakfast while I was in Harrogate for a few days. This place reputedly does the best breakfast in Harrogate, so obviously I had to check it out. It is a little tricky to find if you're driving, tucked away as it is in a quiet residential street. You're not likely to stumble upon it by coincidence, so you would need to really know it was there. But it was worth the trek. It is clearly popular with the locals, although there were a fair few visitors like myself passing through. The first thing that struck me was how nice all the staff are, always courteous and genuinely friendly and helpful. It was such a pleasant experience that I had to visit for two days on the trot. I tried the full English breakfast to begin with, relieved to find a venue that offers the full monty. This includes two thick sausages, bacon, fried egg, mushrooms, beans and hash brown. The quality is not top notch. The hash brown was a little soggy and not very crispy, for example. I felt the sausages could have done with a bit more colour, and the toast was barely browned (see picture). It's not cheap - coming in at £11 (£13 with a drink), but it is substantial. On my second visit I opted for a much simpler scrambled eggs on toast. The quality was excellent, with the eggs scrambled in the pan and not premixed, which gives it a grainy texture and you can see the flecks of colour (see picture). It looks great, but again slightly pricey. £7 is a lot for eggs and toast (£9 with a drink). But it was delicious, and once again the staff were overly friendly and welcoming. That alone would encourage me to come back next time I am in town. Worth checking out.

We always come here when we’re in Harrogate. They do delicious breakfasts and the eggs royale in particular is delicious - 2 eggs and lots of yummy hollandaise. Just as importantly, you really feel like the servers do their utmost to look after you, offering hot water topups for tea etc, and spending time to chat and say ‘enjoy your day’ - it’s just a little thing, but real ‘Service’ is lacking in so many places these days….

i went into the cafe last saturday for a coffee and eggs bendicts. the staff were amazing espacially i believe her name was chloe? very polite and well mannered. 100% reccommend

Arranged to meet friends in Harrogate for breakfast. I picked Slingsby as it was dog friendly and the reviews were great. I had travelled 2 hrs to meet my friends so was looking forward to some hot food, on our arrival we asked about the hot food as there was only toast or a tea cake for hot items. I mentioned this and was informed it was the chefs day off. They need to make this clear on the website as I wouldn't have come. We sat down for our coffees and snacks and was there roughly an hour, we were going to get another drink when we saw a waitress serve a customer on a table to the side of us a bacon bap. We were very disappointed as we were informed there was no hot food apart from the toast and tea cake as mentioned previously. We felt harrished as the waitress kept hovering near the table wanting to clear the pots away. At one point she had cleared everything away apart from one cup of coffee which my friend had not finished. When she had finished the coffee, the waitress was hovering near the table and asked to take the cup away. We did feel the staff just wanted to get rid of us. I know we had spent an hour there with one cup of coffee , but as I said I had travelled 2 hrs to meet my friends for a catch up and we would have ordered hot food if there had been any. Not impressed and wouldn't come again, especially when the staff said no hot food Nd proceeded to serve a customer with hot food !

Went for brunch with my partner. Service was very quick and friendly. All the food was delicious (white chocolate flapjack for me, Full English for him!) and our drinks were absolutely spot on. The cappuccino was perfect and the hot chocolate was delicious. Really glad to have found this place and will be recommending to friends and family.

Having lived in Italy, a cappuccino at Slingsby's is a close to an Italian bar coffee as you are going to get. Forget the Costa style swimming pool of milk with some floating scum, this was great tasting coffee (their own blend apparently), with well foamed milk on top, and in the right sized cup (not a soup bowl like you get in coffee chains) - the real deal! The cake was great as well.

Best cappuccino in ages. So nice to have a cappuccino made as it would be in Italy (milk not served at 110 degrees centigrade). So many others get the basics wrong. Well done

Having managed to book ourselves into the most unfriendly hotel in Harrogate which wouldn’t serve us breakfast, this was a wonderful antidote! Delicious coffee and a perfectly cooked breakfast, and a biscuit for our little dog. My only complaint is that it’s too far away from where we live!

Love this place, I’ve been a few times since moving to Harrogate and it’s becoming a favourite, whether for lunch or breakfast. The staff are so friendly and you get the warmest welcome and food is great with daily specials too.

What a fantastic brunch today. Perfectly poached eggs, beautiful bacon and a splendid smoothie. The food was wonderfully fresh and the welcome was very warm. Would definitely recommend this hidden gem in Harrogate.

We ordered 3 full English breakfasts and 3 hot drinks. The breakfast came before the drinks and was substandard. The bacon was cheap, the sausage was undercooked and the toast, well wasn't toasted. Will not he back and very disappointed!

Met up with family for brunch. Sat upstairs away from the main counter, but service was still good. Plenty of choice on menu. Mrs.B enjoyed her Cheesy Jacket Potatoe & I enjoyed my Brunch Bap very much. What a great cafe.

We've been a few times now for breakfast and it has never disappointed. The food comes quickly, is always piping hot and really tasty. They do fabulous smoothies too. The service is also spot on. It's well worth a visit.

A group of friends out on our motorcycles,we parked near the library and wandered into Tower Street, while making our way towards the city centre. Slingsbys looked appealing, with seats outside, sensibily arranged for social distancing. We chose to sit in the sun, having ordered light lunches(big meals don't sit well on a motorcycle!). The sandwiches were superb, in plain white bread, well filled with salad and our choice of fillings. I ordered the red pepper soup, rather cautiously as I was unsure of the flavour, but I was delighted with the taste and it arrived with a choice of white, brown or seeded bread. My companions and I enjoyed excellent service at the outdoor tables from Sarah, and thoroughly recommend that you try this little gem in Tower Street.

We were in the Travelodge up the road and wanted a take away breakfast to eat on our ongoing journey. We grabbed a couple of sausage baps and two coffees and got on our way. The sausages were great, nice and thick and meaty and the coffee was fine. It was all slightly pricey but not bad at all.

stayed at travleodge across the road so went here for breakfast on two mornings. everything was A1 the food the service and the welcome. . will go again when in harrogate.

We were staying at the Travel Lodge in Tower Street, so what a blessing it was to have such a lovely place to have breakfast within a few yards of our accommodation. Our stay was only for three days, but three brilliant breakfasts to set us up for each day. Staff were really friendly, service was top class, as was our food. And Harvey, our puppy, was welcomed with dog biscuits too! Thank you so much for helping to make our stay in Harrogate such a nice experience. Jan and Alan.

Visited today after enjoying the food we had there last week. What a completely different experience. We both ordered Halloumi Eggs (2 poached eggs on sourdough toast with halloumi, avocado and mushrooms). My husband’s toast was burnt and as it spoilt the flavour of all the food we asked for the food to be replaced. It arrived back very quickly with different toast and what we realised was the same rest of the dish and now cold. When I queried why only one egg the girl offered to refund our money. On our way out I asked again as to why only one egg came back the second time to be told “you’d already eaten some of it”. I always rather reluctantly send food back if it’s not right and have NEVER received most of the same food back on the plate or less of it because a bit had already been eaten. I’m afraid we won’t be going back here again.

Went for breakfast, everything was freshly made and very tasty. Lots of choice of food/drink options. Seating indoors and outdoors, would definitely recommend!

Luckily for us we happened to be staying over the road and had spotted this little cafe on our way into town. We thought it might be a nice place to have breakfast, which as it turned out it was. I had the Eggs Royale and my husband the Full English. Our plates were full of lovely looking food when they were delivered to us and ate as well as they looked. I can't remember when I enjoyed a breakfast so much. A diner on the next table remarked to the waiter how much she had enjoyed her food. Happy diners equal excellent reviews and I am more than happy to give one to Slingsby's.

We spur of the moment decided a couple of weeks ago to go to Harrogate but were struggling to get anywhere that did a breakfast early and inside due to all the problems of this year. Well my fired found you on google then I emailed to ask to book a table for 4 and you replied straight away saying not a problem - a good start!!! than on the day we arrived early but it was not a problem and we enjoyed a fabulous freshly cooked large full english breakfast and pots of tea and coffee. The place was super clean, staff very thoughtful and friendly and the owner a lovely man. We shall definitely be coming back here again

We had walked past Slingsbys numerous times during lockdown, having never come across it before. What a lovely find! Went today for coffee/Earl Grey, porridge and teacake. Lovely food, reasonably priced. (Masked) service with a smile and the first place I've come across so far that bothers to take your details for track and trace - was very happy that rules were being followed but not at the expense of service and product. Would definitely recommend as a super place to visit for coffee/food, even if people are nervous about venturing out again.

Word of mouth - glad I went!Got chatting to a guy called Paul in Bacchus Wine Bar on Friday night (also a must visit) who recommended this place...we went for a Sunday breakfast around 11am.I was starving when I arrived and was not disappointed with my Halloumi Eggs. My husband had Eggs Benedict and was equally satisfied. We also had half pint of orange juice and more than ample sized cappuccino each. £10 a head and stuffed. Will definitely come again, and again.

Found this by chance and called in with seven friends for breakfast. Good choice as everything chosen from the menu was tremendous. We had morning tea, earl grey, flat white and cappuccino coffee(best we tased all week). I was surprised at our choices for breakfast but they ranged from a substantial all day breakfast to eggs benedict to poached eggs and smashed avocado and scrambled eggs with salmon.The quality of the food and service was so good some of us went back for afternoon coffee and cake.If you are near to Tower street give this a try and you will not be dissappointed

i ventured over to harrigate for what i can only describe as the best breakfast ive eaten. excellent service great food and proper leaf tea. lovely atmosphere just a shame its half an hour drive. can highly recommend and they cater for all tastes.

Down from Scotland recently for a few days and what a lovely little place this is, so cosy and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Called in here this morning prior to a site meeting. The place has a nice feel. Had two lovely cappuccinos - regular size £1.99 each. They were well made, strong but not too strong, nice and hot. Friendly and efficient staff. Free WiFi was a bonus. Would recommend

I popped in for a coffee yesterday and despite the place looked nice at first I quickly noticed the cutlery and the cups are dirty, not to mention the chef smelt of cigarette and sweat. The coffee was ok but I definitely won't come back.

We were staying across the road and popped in here for coffee to see if it was worth coming in the following day for breakfast. The cappuccino was hot, wet and tasteless, so needless to say, we didn't go there for breakfast. Service was ok and the decor good.

We visited Harrogate for the cycling World Championships, on a weekend of awful weather. Despite being packed with cycling fans trying to escape the rain, all of the staff were calm, smiley and helpful. Even though we moved tables a few times (to watch the cycling on the telly!) the staff were friendly and kept up with our movements! Food came quickly and was great value (£3.50) for two huge sausage and egg sandwiches. We forgot to order a fourth coffee, but the staff quickly took care of it without us needing to queue again at the counter. And it was great coffee too. Would recommend Slingsby's and their excellent staff very highly - a credit to Harrogate.

Came up to Harrogate for the World Road Racing Champs for the week and this place has become our second home.

Only went here as saw on trip advisor that it was doggie friendly . On getting there a few tables outside that seat 2 or 3... per table . We went inside and a waitress rudely said no dogs allowed inside ... Uhm thought doggie friendly ? It should be clear whether dogs allowed inside or not ... anyhow ended well we went to Farmhouse just around the corner .. friendly great service . Reasonably priced could sit in or out .. lovely food we went for breakfast one day and dinner the next

Today was my first visit to Slingsbys cafe,maybe it gets overlooked a bit as its a little out of the way.Went in with my Mother she had a large latte and i had a smoothie which was tasty.We had a panini each which were fine.Average prices.Perhaps rhe Smoothies could be £3.00 instead of £3.80?.Very clean cafe and loo.Friendly staff.You order at the till.Will come again.

Came here twice for breakfast when stayed in Harrogate recently. Very welcoming. Noticed used by locals for takeaways which always good. Coffee was delicious and a good variety of dishes on offer. Relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic local coffee shop with a very relaxed, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Coffee is the best with a great choice of dairy free milk. I had poached eggs on smashed avocado, which certainly was the best I’ve had. Staff are friendly and always helpful. Thank you.

A hidden delight. We were staying at the Travelodge opposite and didn't want another hotel breakfast. Ventured in and were mightily impressed. Food was lovely, welcome was friendly and plates were all spotless by the end. Kids loved it and so did we. Very popular with locals on their way to work which is always a good sign.

This is my favourite cafe in Harrogate. Would fully recommend a visit for breakfast/lunch/a treat! A hidden gem indeed! The staff are always so friendly and helpful, there's always service with a smile. Great atmosphere too, with a menu suited to all. The food speaks for itself though I must say! The BEST cakes in town!! The rocky road is to die for. Honestly you won't find better...! Perfect place to get away for an hour or two with a cuppa and some fine baked goods. The best in town!! :D

Tucked away out of the main thoroughfares of Harrogate town but well worth finding. Great range of coffee - we both had a latte (with a flapjack) on this visit but others are just as good, as are other snacks and foods. Very good menu, all very competitively priced. Staff are great - friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Andrew, the owner, took time to sit with us for a chat at a point when the cafe was quiet. He has recently taken over ownership of the cafe and is making this an excellent little gem, tucked away, just off West Park. Clean, inviting and a pleasant place to spend time for a break. We will be making this our regular stop-off point when in town.

Popped in for sunday morning breakie unfortunately had to remind staff twice for toast which they had forgot also dirty cutlery, so by the time my wife's toast came i had already had my sandwich and drank most of my coffee, also the place could do with a good clean....a very dissatisfied customer who visits various costas at least three times a week

Visited today for a family lunch with our children. Lovely atmosphere. Was greeted and served really quickly and the staff seemed lovely. Great choice on the menu, my partner and myself decided on the lasagna which was amazing. Great portions. Kids really enjoyed their food too. There’s baby changing facilities which is always a bonus with young kids, especially when they are nice and clean like this was. We finished off with coffee and kids had some lovely brownies! I will definitely be visiting again!

Have visited here sometime ago, sat downstairs and found service good. Busy today, new year's eve so went upstairs. Man serving acknowledged us when we passed him. We sat and waited for service for nearly half an hour while staff went to and fro past us. Not once were we asked if we required service or told to go downstairs even though it was obvious from our empty table we were waiting. I re read the menu to see if it mentioned ordering at the counter and it didn't so we waited. Got fed up so left and mentioned the lack of service, oh you order at the counter, should have seen the small sign on the wall. WE DIDN'T! We went to LMDC in the town centre, very nice and the menu clearly states at the top 'order at the counter'. Take note.

Just finished scrambled eggs (so light and fluffy - perfect) on toast in this delightful but unassuming little establishment. The warm and bustling atmosphere is enhanced by always smiling staff. New owner Andrew Ford has a formidable national reputation in the hospitality industry and is a friend (and judge) of all the celebrity chefs, so it’s a huge coup for Harrogate to have him plying his illustrious wares in this cosy cafe. Not surprisingly everything is cooked fresh and all the ingredients are sourced locally. For those in the know, this is the place to go. But don’t tell too many of your friends - we regulars want to keep it special!

Visited today, requested Oat milk decaf cappuccino & an oat milk for my son (who is 3), received said cappuccino and some frothy, warmed oat milk in an adults cup and saucer which was too large and heavy for my child, never mind the smash-risk, but never mind. Took a few swigs of coffee thinking the coffee tasted strong as the taste was sour and unpleasant, then realised the milk must have been off. Returned cup and asked for a fresh decaf cappuccino with soya or almond, which they did without any fuss. I have been basically unable to sit still and have had heart palpitations for the rest of the day because they gave me full caffeine instead of decaf. Usually good service but today was disappointing.

This is a regular haunt after, or sometimes before, using Pure Gym in Tower Street. Always very welcoming with friendly staff - Sam is especially lovely. Very good coffee and a great range of food. Highly recommended.

First time to Harrogate. We stayed in the Travelodge. And slingbys is just across the road. Me and my husband went for breakfast, and it’s was lovely! Free ingredients, plenty of food and the place was very busy, which says a lot 👍🏽

In a quiet back street this lovely little café has both inside and outside seating. Friendly welcome by a lovely young lady who was managing the place very efficiently on her own. We ordered tea for two and two cakes. We got a pot each and mugs (yes please!!) and enough milk for about 3 mugs each (very generous) The cakes were gooey, sweet, a good size...in other words gorgeous and the tea was the best I've had for many a year outside my own kitchen! At £10 for two this takes some beating.

Great food for parents and the kids and better still being topped up with delicious coffee! Easy for the kids to relax in this atmosphere so definitely will be back - and might sneak in without the kids for a longer food stop!! Great costumer service. Highly recommended.

Had friends staying and visited here rather than do the whole cooked breakfast at home option. Great decision, better cooking than I can manage after an evening of catch up and celebration with our guests. Quality ingredients well cooked with polished service.

I have now been to Slingsbys a few time times and I have not been disappointed. It has been consistently good.

Gorgeous coffee, lovely food and perfect surroundings plus excellent service. Good seating space. kids welcome. Free wifi. Very pleased with my experience. I highly recommend it 😀

Stayed at the Travel Lodge, Tower Street and had breakfast at Slingsby's which is a two minute walk down the road. Husband enjoyed his full English and the advacado, bacon and poached egg was cooked to perfection. Really good coffee and lovely homemade biscuits!! Owners are very friendly and will come and chat if not too busy. Highly recommend

Stopped in with friends for a coffee and overall fantastic place, the staff were all friendly and welcoming would highly recommend
