Central Cafe in Harrogate

Our second visit to this cafe. Our first visit was after they had just opened and it was a very enjoyable experience. However this was to be our last. Upon ordering we were advised there would be a delay on our food of no more than 30mins. 40 minutes later we were served 2 lukewarm dishes with no apology. There was no further acknowledgement of us while we sat waiting, no offer of a refill of our drinks which had been delivered shortly after ordering and drunk. The cafe did not appear to be overly full. There appeared to be no rush or urgency in the kitchen or on the delivery, with plates being left stood awaiting on the side to be delivered. No apology given upon paying or as we left. Obviously not bothered about the experience being offered or repeat business and trade. I wish we had we left and gone elsewhere.

Lovely atmosphere and food. I had a fruit smoothie and a pistachio sauce crepe with strawberries. The service was excellent.

Lovely cafe nice coffee and carrot cake. Nice to sit outside in the summer. Will call again the breakfast sandwiches looked amazing. Friendly staff.

We were looking for Somewhere that did crepe, but also full English. Both were very good. The coffee (flat white + Latte) were also good. Service was pleasant and efficient.

I came here with my family on Sunday for breakfast. The coffee was amazing and the the best english breakfast I have had in a long time. Everything was cooked to perfection and staff was so friendly. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place.

Popped in on the off chance and would a find! My full English was well cooked and with fresh good quality produce and the price very good value indeed. I should also say the service was efficient and friendly too. A super cafe! Highly recommended 👌

Visited twice whilst staying in Harrogate. Fantastic food, service and coffee!!! Really good and varied menus. Lovely comfortable place to eat and relax. Dog friendly too.

We tried Central Cafe on Oxford Street for the first time, we were very pleasantly surprised. The cafe is warm and friendly, the service excellent and the food is very reasonably priced. The coffee and tea cups are generously sized. The food was good and plentiful.

Came here for my son’s pre birthday treat and was glad we did. He chose a waffle with Nutella and marshmallows. I had waffles with salted caramel and bananas and hubby had french toast with bacon and eggs. Everything was delicious. My son said it was sooooo good and the best he has ever had. Staff were lovely and we will definetly be back again soon. Such an amazing place, think it’s our new fave place .

A return visit to our favourite cafe for brunch today. We had the huge breakfast sandwiches served with fries at the amazing cost of £8. Such good value and think they may be undercharging! 😲. The coffee is excellent, we had the flat whites. Only grumble is they don't use table numbers so when you go to the counter to pay they have to check where you were sitting then ask you what you had. At the same time they are serving coffees so it is all a bit hectic when busy. Please solve it with TABLE NUMBERS.

The Central is a smart looking place with a relaxed cafe atmosphere. Service was friendly and very good. We were here for breakfast and the cooked English, which was served with a thick slice of sourdough toast, comprised of good quality ingredients that were very nicely presented. The only downside was that it wasn’t very hot, and even when the manager very kindly brought us some freshly cooked bacon, it also lost its heat very quickly simply because the breakfast had been served on very cold plates. Something that they should address. Tea was extra and I must say that a couple of single cups with a teabag in each didn’t really work for me and they would do well to get a few tea pots. All in all however, this is a nice cafe with a lot going for it and we will certainly try the breakfast again.

Disappointing, reviews looked good but maybe we arrived on a bad day. No crepes or waffles, no beefburgers, coffee was luke warm, French toast likewise. On the positive side they tasted good (should have been much warmer) and the eggs royal was nice. If it is like this normally I would not recommend

One of the best eggs royal I've had in a long time along with the lovely staff, and the service was immaculate I only had to wait 15 minutes at max for my food to come out, and I even got to watch the chef cook my meal! Some things were missing although it was just after Christmas so understandable, would come again.

Why driving through Harrogate, I ended up calling into this cafe for lunch. I decided to have a small breakfast and wow - from presentation to taste, it was fantastic! The staff were all helpful and friendly. I will definitely be calling back.

Popped in for breakfast during our weekend away. The service was exceptional and the seating and setting was cozy with a lovely atmosphere. Both my wife and I ordered the Eggs Benedict, the food came quickly and it was the best breakfast I had eaten out in a very long time. Thank you.

I was amazed before the food even came. It looks extremely nice and the seats are really comfy. The waiters are extrmeley polite and nice. It is an awesome café.

Really good selection of food, staff were super friendly. They also have good vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Would recommend as a breakfast spot in town and will definitely be back.

Plenty of different tables and sofas to suit different sized groups inc solo eaters like me. Friendly staff, nice food, speedy service.

At this place you get to eat like king, their breakfast is incredible and their local eggs and sourdough is exceptional.

The spicy lamb burger was out of this world and the eggs Benedict on another level. You could tell they were organic eggs. We will be back.

Friendly staff…. Unfortunately the Cortado coffee I ordered was not as it should be… it arrived more like a cross between a flat white/large Macchiato it was made in a cup far too large for a Cortado with a skimming of froth on the top....
