First time at Papas and what a wonderful evening! The food was of exceptional quality and for a very reasonable price. But, ultimately, it was the service here that makes Papas so very special. Attentive, friendly and so very welcoming. The best dining experience in Harrogate I've ever had over many years. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

As a coeliac, finding good gluten-free options can feel like hunting for a unicorn, but this place delivers—GF pitta bread included! If you have any appreciation for good food, you NEED to eat here. We had a group booking for 10. We were advised that our food would be delivered as cooked so we appreciated the staff's patience in looking after a large party. The food was delicious, all freshly cooked and well flavoured. We have been here before and as last time thoroughly enjoyed it. We hope our birthday party vibes ✨️ were not too loud.

This was amazing. Meze, small plates of deliciousness. I eat vegetarian and my partner is coeliac and there was loads of choice. We will definitely be back.

Coming from a group of people visiting having grown up eating Greek food from recipes passed down for generations, the food here truly blew us away. Couldn't recommend more!

First time diners here tonight. What a fabulous gem of a place. Jack was our server, lovely and chatty, knew the menu well and was able to advise us. We had two vegetarian and two meat dishes. The food was authentic, plentyful and delicious. Managed to squeeze in a pudding and OMG the food was all awesome. Definitely will be back. We were a big group, Food was mid. The chicken gyros was so dry and burnt and when we try to tell our hostess the reply we got this is how we do it and another one of us tried to comment she took the plate away and turned her back without even replying!!!!!!

We had a variety of meals. There were six of us. No starters. Just mains and desserts. Lamb was over marinated. Could not taste the lamb for the herbs. As soon as we had finished desserts we were told our table was needed for the next customers.

Update for 2024- still the best in Harrogate. Beautiful restaurant, and delicious food. We had a brilliant night, the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We ordered a lot of food between us but we were given the option of having it slowly brought out so everything was hot. The wine is lovely too. There was live Greek music on the Friday we visited. We will definitely be returning (again!)

Absolutely delicious, everything was well seasoned. Really enjoyed the courgette fritters, tzatziki, and chicken souvlaki. Also had a lovely cheesecake afterwards. Highly recommend coming here.

I love Greek cuisine but don't get to eat it as often as I would like. The chefs special platter for 2 was excellent quality and a huge amount of food. And excellent value for money. Very friendly hosts and staff.

Our family group of four had a really excellent, varied ,shared lunch where every dish we chose was delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating and the restaurant itself was brightly decorated with tables comfortably spaced. Situated centrally in Harrogate it is an ideal spot for lunch and undoubtedly for evening meals also.

Ate here during a weekend in Yorkshire. Having explored a number of places on TA, this one stood out so we thought we would give it a go. As the title suggests, our experience was mixed. The welcome was fine and we were shown to our table which thankfully was a 4 person (I hate 2 person tables, never big enough). If you are looking for somewhere quiet and romantic, this isn’t it. Papa’s has a typically busy and noisy atmosphere, which is in keeping with the vibe. We ordered a selection of different dishes from the varied mezze menu. Drinks were ordered, one arrived maybe 5 minutes later but it took a further 5-10 for the other. A couple of dishes then came, one intending to be eaten along with a pitta bread, which didn’t arrive. We enquired about this, and several minutes later it did come, by which time the melted cheese had begun to harden. The dishes were lovely and so we waited in anticipation for the rest. Our plates were cleared and we waited. And waited. A waiter asked if everything was ok and we pointed out that we were waiting for more food. I’d just add that the place was heaving and dishes were coming from the kitchen thick and fast. Not ours. Another waitress asked if we were ok, and we restated what was happening. By this time we had waited maybe 30-40 minutes since finishing our first dishes. Another member of staff asked again and returned to say that they were on their way. They arrived soon after with apologies and the mention that our original food had been given in error to another diner and so had to be prepared again. The slow cooked lamb was quite chewy and hard - it was very nice and flavoursome but was hard. We mentioned it to the waitress who said that it was probably because the chef had to cook it too quickly. We were given shots of lemon cello with the waitress suggesting that they were offered as we had waited a long time. The bill included a service charge of nearly £9.00. As we paid we again mentioned the wait and the chewy lamb and apologies were repeated but maybe removal of the service charge would have been a better option ?. In summary, the food was pretty good; I’d have said excellent if it hadn’t been for the lamb. Customer experience let the night down and would make me question returning.

A lovely birthday treat from my family. I wanted to see if the Souvlaki could beat what I had in the Greek Islands. It did. Moist and tasty. Beautiful. Just a shame that it arrived before our starters were finished.

A few days ago my family came from southern Spain. We decided to eat here even though we live in York, because the food is delicious and has an authentic Mediterranean flavor The waiters are very attentive and familiar The entire atmosphere of the restaurant is very cozy Without a doubt I will never regret coming here, I recommend it to all my friends and acquaintances Thank you for such a lovely experience 🫶🥰🤗

Outstanding food! Went for my daughter's 18th birthday. Have had Greek food in the past that's been a bit on the bland side. This was not. Absolutely delicious. I ordered the Stifado, others in our group had moussaka, lamb cutlets and vegetarian dishes. We all raved about how good the food was. Really flavouful and the dips and pitta we had as a starter were also excellent. One star knocked off for service as we had a new starter waitress who told us a few bits of wrong information. She was lovely and we understand but perhaps it was a bit of an oversight to give her a table of 11 when she was still learning the ropes. Anyhow it was wonderful in every other way and we'll definitely be back!!

Her warm and welcoming nature made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Rosa's fantastic hospitality and genuine care for her guests made our evening even more special. Papa's is a true gem in Harrogate, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Rosa, for an unforgettable dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Delicious and very good value. Meze style and sharing dishes makes it easy to order just the right amount of food. Stifado was delicious and everything was good. Service friendly and prices low.

Wasn't too sure as never had Greek food before, but this was utterly delicious. We were 2 veggies and 2 dyed in the wool no nonsense meat eaters, all agreed it was perfect. Tapas style , so we could try various dishes. Meatballs, lamb stew with cinnamon, chicken skewers, all amazing. Very busy Friday night but the service was excellent. No wonder they are so popular.

One of the best places to eat in Harrogate. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Octopus and calamari both booked perfectly, and lots of excellent vegetarian and gluten free choices too. Portion sizes are perfect. Recommend to anyone. The puddings are on another level too.

Once in Bulgaria /Nesebar and now in this restaurant, when I ate others octopuses in my experience they were not good enough for my taste. But here is special. All food was perfect texture with richfrom ingredients and herbals, really I highly recommend this restaurant. They also had amazing music and lovely clean atmosphere. Soon we will visit again. 16 of us went for 3 joint birthdays, we all had the chefs special it’s £30 per head and you get a selection of most things from the menu boy there was a lot of food it was fantastic 👍the service was great as well everyone couldn’t do enough to make sure we had a great time we will definitely be going back as it was our first time dining there we loved it thank you 🥂😜

We were advised by a local to dine at Papa's and we were thrilled with the recommendation. As soon as we walked in the door we knew that we had made the right decision (with so much choice in Harrogate it doesn't always work out that way). With it's lovely holiday vibe, welcoming staff and truly delicious food and wine we had a memorable evening - you can't beat an independent family run restaurant! We will definitely be back the next time we stay in Harrogate and cannot recommend highly enough...

We had come to Harrogate for the weekend and pre booked this for Friday evening . Had to wait ages for our table as another waitress gave walk in s our booked table . No real apology given and we would have still been left at the bar had my hubbie not noticed and alerted someone. Menu much smaller than online . Waited a very long time for our food . Which I guess the chefs did well considering the amount of people in . But it was just ok 3 different dishes . Service was poor it was way too busy for a small place really noisy. Small portions for the money . Not impressed at all . It would be a much more enjoyable evening with less tables or staggered bookings to help the kitchen and waiting staff . Wouldn’t return underwhelming.

Great restaurant and delicious food but please don’t sneak a service charge at the end of a bill! If people love your food they’ll be very happy to tip but please don’t add it without informing diners.

Lovely meal. Staff really friendly & helpful. Had a shared starter, 2 mains & wine for 57 inc service. Service was really attentive - orders taken quickly, drinks, starters & mains appeared promptly - but fizzled out later. Would've happily spent another 30 on dessert & another round of drinks but left alone until we eventually asked for the bill. Will definitely be back but need to stày tuned in from start to end. Nice place, nonetheless. Thanks.

We are in Harrogate on holiday celebrating our 34th Wedding anniversary and visited here for the first time today at the invitation of our lovely friends Debbie and Nick, it was their treat. We had a beautiful lunch, everything was beautifully presented, piping hot and truly delicious. Service was excellent, staff very pleasant and helpful.

Had a really enjoyable experience at Papa’s. Lots of tasty options, and many of them gluten free. I particularly enjoyed the multicoloured salad, the prawns, and the calamari. Cosy setting and friendly staff.

I’ve been meaning to write a review since New Years Eve. It was wonderful! The staff, food, warmth and atmosphere was fantastic, we were absolutely full of delicious food. This is the only place we book now and have been doing so for over a year. We don’t want to try anywhere else!

Lovely meal for my birthday! Table for 8 but no problems at all, all food delicious and freshly cooked. We weren’t sure how many dishes to order but the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. Complimentary lemoncello was a lovely touch! We will definetely return when we visit Harrogate again.

Just as good as last time. This is our go to place to eat when staying in the Harrogate area. Simply deliscious with friendly, knowledgeable service. Quality ingredients and authentic food. You'll love it.

Lovely little place that has a few areas to sit in. We were not sure of how to go about ordering, and how much. The waitress suggested we may have over-ordered on sharing dishes and made some useful recommendations which worked well for us. The food was delicious. Would return if back in Harrogate at any point.

One of the best meze Greek food outside of Greece. The selection was excellent and staff in hand to offer help. The service was first class and the food matched it. We managed to hot starters and 2 mains and they were enough. They had a nice selection of wines, the Crete red was worth the extra money. For a Sunday night it was one of the busiest in town, we will be back. When trying to find, it’s located under the end townhouse, but easy to miss when you are looking at the Xmas lights.

Super friendly restaurant, with a family feel. We had the set menu as there were a few of us. (The set menu is basically everything!) The starters were a selection of mezes - a good variety, plenty of it and tasty too. The main course was outstanding: a delicious falling off the bone lamb joint, beef, chicken, fish, squid and pork. All delicious. There was live music so there was a Friday night party atmosphere - everyone in there seemed to be having a great time. Highly recommended - we'll be back!

Even tho they were full, we had read the menus, asked for a table and they made room for us. Most amazing meal. Better than any meal we'd had in Kos or Cyprus, even better than the restaurants off the beaten track! I need gluten free and this was no problem, yet still sooo tasty.

Simply wonderful. Beautiful food, lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The only thing lacking for a truly authentic Greek experience was the Mediterranean sea lapping a few metres away and a few dozen over friendly wasps. We had the the mixed meat meze washed down with a bottle of retsina and it was divine.
