Zeroooo stars! Having worked at various Sainsbury's stores over the past three years, I unfortunately found my experience to be quite negative. The lack of leadership and poor people skills from certain managers, particularly Fabian and Gareth, created a stressful and unpleasant work environment. Their behavior often drove employees to leave, and there was minimal support from another manager, Andy, making day-to-day tasks even more challenging. I expected better standards from a company like Sainsbury's, but unfortunately, the disrespect and lack of proper management I witnessed made it a difficult place to work. I hope future improvements are made to ensure staff feel valued and supported

This Harrogate store has quite a big selection in of apparel, food and there’s an Argos in store too.

Popped into the cafe for a sausage sandwich at 9.30am, no sausages 🤔 it's in a supermarket, how do they run out ?

Was here a week ago, early morning grabbing some bits. Only to be called disgusting by the cleaning lady. In the future, if you have female cleaning staff cleaning male toilets, it's probably best to put a sign up stating that. Better yet. Don't leave, and then come back without knocking on the male toilet door. She walked straight in and proceeded to hurl abuse at me. Tried asking for the manager only to be told by the cafe staff that "it's too early for this" and she walks off. Disgusting behaviour.

Hopelessly understaffed !!! Not the first time I’ve encountered a ludicrously long wait in the queue. It’s called fast food - not an evening in Maxims!!

Great supermarket with a super-wide selection of products. They offer literally everything. The staff is friendly and helpful + there are a lot of nice little businesses inside. Not to mention the Argos which usually beats online retailers.

Terrifyingly enormous with old people in every aisle. If it wasn’t to buy the Tony’s choccy, I’d never come here because I get lost every visit and I get bashed into by the infirm.

Has everything you need under one roof and plenty of parking.

Good sized supermarket catering to all that you need from clothing, to home things such as bedding, pots/pans, stationery, towels, chilled food, hot food, cupboard food and Pet food.

Good food at a reasonable cost. Slow service but there was a long queue as only one person making coffee / working the till. We go for the cafe, shopping is secondary.

Good selection and staff always at hand

I went in the other week. I usually like this sainsburys, the staff are moderately pleasant and there is a good selection. However I went into the cafe, it is very run down, not many options. There was a younger woman and an older woman with glasses who were stood talking and didn’t address me, they pretended not to see me and continued to make rude remarks, when I was finally addressed I couldn’t hear a word the older woman was saying, she was practically slurring her words. The younger girl passed a comment and used absurd language. Not nice staff, not a pleasant experience, managers were not interested. There is no customer service skills, the coffee was terrible. A shorter haired lady was then very patronising to another customer. The staff members in question were named Olivi and Trace and Ann. Will never use this cafe again, don’t want their negativity. The cafe was disgusting and dirty, tables clearing, floor full of food. Staff stood around looking as miserable as sin instead of actually working. My friends were not amused.

will never shop in this store again. As a shopper who is new to the area, the very unclear runs for parking in this store resulted in a £60 parking fine. If you want customers to shop here, make the parking runs clearer and larger. Will never shop in Sainsbury's again

Has everything but a good Argos system

The best supermarket in Harrogate with surprisingly good prices and a huge range of products. High end without being too pricey. The layout is nice, with large isles. The non-food area of clothes and housewares is very good too with both Argos and Habitat lines, as well a Tu clothing. The cafe has a nice vibe and the coffee and breakfast are tasty and reasonably priced ... with good quality too. UPDATE. I've dropped this rating two stars. It is still a lovely store but the cafe has really gone down hill with its 'new' menu (new but inferior to the old one and much pricier). Also there seem problems with them running out of things and also when you get to the self check outs issues with things not scanning property or Nectar discounts not being applied. Not good at all.

Got a parking fine for overstaying the max allowed time by 16 minutes. We had had breakfast in store followed by my wife’s incredibly slow shopping. I went to ask the question as to if the they could have the fine removed since we were in store the whole time and spent over £300. The woman at customer service desk just gave me a lecture on how the signs were clearly visible, then the manager who was polite enough, in a ‘I don’t give a crap way’ was just as unhelpful. I’ll pay the fine, I did overstay, but I was trying to explain that it’s difficult because the car is a rental… it’s the attitude here in the store that is very poor.

Sainsbury’s is one of the better supermarkets it’s one of the only few that sell the butter we use. The dry goods are good as well and the prices are decent as well. So give them a try.

Absolutely horrific food I would NEVER go here again. My food was microwaved to the depths of hell and was extremely burnt. Took 20 minutes for 3 microwave meals.

Sainsbury's a matter of weeks before Christmas, I must be mad going on a Saturday. Bust and getting busier.

Great range of clothing, biggest I have been in. Great homeward dept, handy argos and great range of food.

This store has gone so far downhill it's unreal. Visiting on a midweek evening, stock levels were very low throughout - not just fresh foods but many aisles had little on them. The number of lines also seems to have dropped dramatically, with no Schwartz herbs and spices anymore - just the Sainsbury's own brands. The building itself seems to be running into disrepair, with countless badly patched-up areas of flooring throughout the store. The worst thing though is the checkout situation. If you've foolishly decided to get a large trolley to do a proper shop, on an evening you'll be left to fend for yourself and put through your 50+ items with limited space and very little assistance. If you've bought an item with a security tag, you can be waiting up to 10 minutes for a member of staff to be free to remove it after you've paid. I used to view Sainsbury's as the best quality mainstream supermarket after the likes of Waitrose and Booths, but it's no better than Asda these days. This is the last time I do my main shop here.

They have a very efficient and reliable pick up service. Simply press the call button and your order arrives a few minutes later. Well Done, Sainsburys.

Cafe was not serving hot food and shuts at 5pm each day ! So can't rate !

Always good. Quick and easy self scanning, so no waiting and packing at till.

This is still the worst Sainsbury's that I have ever been to. In common with other Sainsbury's sites, many of the staff are charming but one or two are fantastically rude. I have had to change the times of my visits in order to avoid the rudest who routinely keep customers waiting for well over five minutes, serial red lights flashing, at the self checkouts. As I entered through an entrance regularly used by staff, one staff member remarked 'this is for exit only'. By no means an isolated incident. A bit of a self licking lollipop culture, store organised for the benefit of the staff. Fortunately we have a choice and I have just become a Morrison's more member.

Awful cafe experience. One staff member completely clueless and inconsistent information. 45 minute wait for food and my food didn’t even turn up! Really busy and confusing. I just wouldn’t even attempt to eat in this cafe if you want a relaxing dining experience or if you actually want any food!!!

Actually, I went to Timpsons for keys cut. Goid service but expensive at £9 per key.

I sometimes shop here and as a supermarket they're fine, but be VERY careful if you're charging your car here. The EV bays are empty for a reason! I decided to charge my car whilst I shopped. The total came to £5.20. The charger does a pre-auth of £60. Except this charger had locked 3x £60 from my account. I rang their helpline and they say there's nothing they can do. So I now have £180 locked from my account for a few days until Sainsbury's (SmartCharge) decide to refund me. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Easy to navigate with great selection

This is my go to store on my A65 /A1 trip from Kendal to Hornchurch. I have a visit to the loo, then a look round the clothes then pick up lunch and any other bits I need before continuing in my journey. Store is always clean. Lots of staff on duty. There is always a good buzz about this store, friendly.

Sainsbury's in Harrogate is a lovely place to visit we always stop for a coffee break when visiting the area.

Very large supermarket catering for all requirements.

We used to go to the nearby Fodder but extortionate prices made us try Sainsbury’s cafe and we have never looked back! The food particularly the freshly cooked breakfast is delicious and just as good as their neighbours but such a good price and great toast is included. You can also if you don’t like a particular breakfast item swop it for another. The staff are lovely and friendly and the cafe is spotless.

It's a nice sized supermarket and we can get round pretty quickly with the smart shop. It usually is well stocked but occasionally runs out of some of the produce items

Went to the cafe with my son who normally will eat anything we both ordered the all day breakfast It was practically thrown onto the table the quality of the food was poor with very little taste . The beans were very sweet, the mushroom was chewy 🤷‍♀️ and the hash browns were nothing like I’d ever had before We won’t be returning

Terrible service… fruit going off but because no dates on them, sainsburys keep them for sale to customers. Once you’re home and open them up, they are horrible and well past freshness. Clothes all come in different sizes, I range from 4 different sizes of size 10 (8-14) which is ridiculous. No changing room, so you have t purchase multiple sizes and then take back what sizes don’t fit. Management not helpful whatsoever when I tried to complain about this. Sainsburys has gone down so much, specially in customer services.

Good access for wheelchair users plus there are plenty of baskets that fit to the front of a wheelchair quite good space between all of the Isles but sometimes can be cluttered up by the staff refilling shelves

It was OK until you have to get out the car park onto the main road.

For the first time in many years we went to Sainsbury’s to try their breakfast. The cafe was sparkling clean and tidy, although I reckon they could make it a bit cosier with a few screens to break it up and “separate” it from the supermarket. We both had the full breakfast which is an excellent price of £5.40 and included two sausages, two rashers of bacon, a large portobello mushroom, hash brown, tomato, beans and a fried egg. It also included a slice of toast but tea was extra. Normally the downside of a cheap breakfast comes in the shape of cheap, pasty sausages, but that wasn’t the case here and the bangers were tasty and had a decent texture. Similarly, the other ingredients were of a decent quality. It all looked freshly cooked and was presented nicely on the plate. Service was friendly and efficient and, all in all, this was a very good breakfast at a bargain price. We enjoyed it.

I was in the store this morning to do a shop - I picked up a 6 pack of Hot Cross Buns which were baked in your shop Bakery. Sadly these Buns were underbaked and were sad in the middle, They had to be thrown in the Bins - I just wanted you to know they were not eaten. Thank you .

We got a full shop in for a month and I think it would of cost more.

Largest sainbury's I've been in,well stocked clean and tidy.It has a large carpark looked well full ,plenty special offers I'll call in again.

Stopped mainly to charge the EV vehicle. Great chargers. Visited the store whilst we waited. Cafe good with helpful staff. However..... I decided to treat myself to some clothes whilst I was there but after picking up several items to try on I was told there were NO fitting rooms and I would have to buy stuff then return it if it didn't fit!!!! What a load of *********!! COME ON SAINSBURYS! Not happening. I dumped the items in the nearest empty trolley and walked out. Some of us don't have endless amounts of money to just buy stuff to take home to try on!!! And why should I put myself out to then travel to return goods that are no use to me???
