Brilliant family run public house offering great food with a very popular Sunday carvery, so get there early to get a table. Good selection of alcoholic and none alcoholic drinks. Family and dog friendly, great atmosphere with very welcoming and helpful staff. Positioned in the market square allows for easy free car parking.

Had a great time again on Sunday while out on a walk and calling in here for Sunday Lunch ( small portions otherwise we would not make it back up the hill!) One of our favorite pub in North Yorkshire. In such a picturesque village too. We live a 35 - 40 minutes drive away and sadly only get to eat her a few times a year while taking in a local walk. However we have always really enjoy the experience whether it's eating in the characterful bar or the cosy restaurant. We have always found the food at the Fauconberg at worse very good, and at best outstanding. I also appreciate the quality of service, not just a battalion of teenager's on minimum wage, but a proper team who make you feel they are pleased you are there and genuinely want you to enjoy your experience! What's not in doubt is the value for money - a concept close to a Yorkshire man's heart!? :-)

Sat at an outside table in the sun. I ordered Fish Tacos. Took a while to arrive as they were busy but worth the wait. The scones are my usual go to as they are amazing but they didn't have any left! Have eaten here many times but never experienced their Gin bar.

Just had the best Sunday lunch ever with the biggest Yorkshire pudding that tasted delicious. They Catered carefully for one of us who is a coeliac, making sure even he had GF Yorkshire puddings. Plenty of fresh veg to accompany the delicious mash and roast potatoes. 10/10 for chef Craig and the rest of the staff who were welcoming, friendly and efficient. The lovely roaring log burner cheered us up a cold damp winters day making us not want to leave. They also provide overnight accommodation and for Campervans too with EUA and water. This will be definitely be one of our regular visits in future.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch, starter of chicken wings was tasty and loved by all the family. Sunday roast for all the family, beef and pork. Well cooked and plenty of meat and shared vegetables. We had a warm welcome from the staff and service was prompt and friendly. Lovely atmosphere with fires. Will be returning

As the name suggests, the White Rose Book Cafe is a cafe within an independent book shop. It is roomy and smart and has a good menu of hot and cold snacks as well as cakes, scones etc. We came in for coffees and scones and they were both top class, as was the service.

The staff in this establishment always go out of their way to welcome you and attend to your requirements. It’s no surprise they have so many regulars from cycling, walking groups and locals too. Food & coffee very tasty. Can certainly recommend their Full English breakfast -So tasty. Very happy to recommend- it’s the best cafe in Ayton!

We had a lovely afternoon tea, 2 of my party were gluten and dairy intolerant and this was not a problem at all!! The sandwiches were huge and full of yummy fillings! All the cakes and scones were perfect as well, our only problem was we could not eat it all so we had a doggy bag for later. It was a fantastic way to start a few days away with friends! Afterwards we stayed for a Gonk making workshop which was very successful and we all managed to surprise ourselves!

Myself and hubby arrived for a one night stay for valentines, warm welcome and all fires were lit in the bar which was very inviting after coming in from the cold. We chose to eat in the bar as it was so cosy, food was exceptional and the service attentive. The bar can be a bit lively but it's a nice mix of locals and eaters which is to be expected from a country inn. Our bedroom had everything we needed for a good nights sleep followed by a delicious breakfast. Will be back.
