We have just returned from a lovely afternoon in the Jet Miners function room celebrating Dad’s 80th birthday. Food was really lovely and all the staff looked after us. Thank you Jet Miners helping Dad along with his friends and family celebrate in style. 🙏🏻

Average Sunday lunch. Not great, not poor just average. Being nearly Christmas the menu included Turkey which we had. There was a lot of food, in fact too much for the plates which made eating it difficult. Absolutely drowning in gravy as well. Vegetables were OK apart from the almost raw sprouts. I am not keen on mushy sprouts and prefer them to be firm but these were definitely not in the pan long enough. Service was very slow even though it was not too busy. They should invest in larger plates.

Fabulous service, great venue and lovely food. Whole party loved their meals. Haven’t been for awhile but will definitely not leave it as long again 10/10

I have just had an amazing Sunday lunch from the Crown and Anchor in Sowerby. I live near the pub and have been a regular for a few years. Unfortunately over the last year I’ve been unable to visit the lovely, warm, friendly pub. Today Kirsty and Miles the landlady and landlord gave my husband a Sunday lunch to bring home for me. Not only was it amazing but also beautifully presented and still hot! I can’t thank them enough for going above and beyond. That just shows what a great local pub/restaurant they are. If you are ever visiting the area you must visit, you will be given a very warm welcome. Again thank you very much Kirsty and Miles x

Very poor service. Me and my boyfriend came for breakfast, we were greeted at the door by miserable staff. We were sat down at a table without menus and after 10/15 minutes had to ask for some - we were given one to share. It then took 10/15 minutes for someone to come and ask us for our order. When the food came, it was missing one of the ingredients, we hadn’t been told or asked if we’d like an alternative. I complained about this when paying and no one seemed to be bothered, very young staff with what appeared to be very little training. The food we did have was mainly lovely apart from the black pudding was undercooked. Very disappointing as we have been here before and loved it. We won’t be returning.

Got vouchers as a gift and then was saddened to hear they were closing, love,y ride across to find it very welcoming inside, the menu was varied We had the lamb and shepherds pie, small portions but beautifully served hot and very tasty. The desserts were tasty and presented with a tasty dressing The Venue is excellent, the food was beautiful and the staff were an absolute credit to the owner, sad it is closing

We’ve just had a fantastic dinner, bed and breakfast stay at the Buck Inn to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We live locally and have had many lovely meals there, but this was the first time we had stayed overnight. Our room was lovely - spotlessly clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. Vicki is such a welcoming host it was a really special stay. Thanks to Vicki and the team and we’ll be back soon.

Myself and my friend John had a wonderful overnight stay here when we visited Thirsk racecourse. The owner Alice went beyond the call of duty when we arrived early and also when we were looking for transport to the track. The establishment was spotless with a great car park facility. The breakfast was first class. We are only sorry we never had the time to sample the Cantonese restaurant. Thanks Alice for your kindness and the friendly welcome. We will hopefully be back in the near future to visit Ripon racetrack. Scott and John.

Food is amazing Staff were out standing

Went back after last year's fantastic sandwich and service but have to say after looking forward to having my sandwich it was a complete let down this time. The food was not as good and the portion sizes were smaller and the price was £3 more for the 2. Sorry to say I will not be back again and would not recommend. 😔

Excellent (vegetarian) roast lunch, lovely staff

Great little pub have tried a Sunday lunch and most recently Friday fish and chips both meals were spot on, good range of beers nice friendly people and promptly served, would recommend.

We ordered takeaway pizzas( one dairy free) and they were delicious thank you. Always friendly staff and super yummy pizzas thank you x
